Niron Magnetics Marks Steel Raising at Sartell Manufacturing Site

Milestone construction event and new strategic investment from Honda advance the first commercial-scale facility for rare-earth-free permanent magnets

SARTELL, Minn., Sept. 10, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Niron Magnetics, the company commercializing the world's only high-performance rare-earth-free permanent magnets, celebrated the steel raising Wednesday at its manufacturing facility in Sartell, Minnesota, and announced an investment from Honda Motor Co., Ltd. ("Honda").

At the event, CEO Jonathan Rowntree was joined by Sartell Mayor Ryan Fitzthum, Mark Ford from Ryan Companies, John Shaw from Wood and other leaders to raise a ceremonial steel column at the 287,000 square-foot plant.

The steel raising marks a major construction milestone for Niron's Sartell plant, which will be operational in 2027. The plant at full operations will manufacture up to 1,500 tons of annual production capacity and employ 175 full-time jobs. It represents the first commercial-scale step of Niron's staged manufacturing platform.

Niron also announced an investment from Honda, through its global open innovation program, Honda Xcelerator Ventures, that invests in innovative companies. The investment builds on high expectations for innovative, next-generation rare-earth-free magnetic materials from Honda and will support continued commercialization of Niron's rare-earth-free permanent magnet technology, as well as help scale the company's manufacturing operations. The amount of the investment was not disclosed.

"The Sartell plant is where Niron's technology moves from the lab to full-scale American manufacturing. This is the first facility of its kind anywhere in the world, and it's a critical step toward giving U.S. manufacturers a permanent magnet supply chain that doesn't depend on rare earth materials. Honda's investment, announced this morning, is a strong vote of confidence in that vision, and in the work our team has put in to get us here," said Jonathan Rowntree, CEO of Niron Magnetics.

In August, Niron Magnetics also announced loan commitments of $150 million each from the Office of Strategic Capital of the Department of War and Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC) to advance the Sartell manufacturing site.

Permanent magnets are foundational components in the technologies that power the modern economy, from electric motors to artificial intelligence infrastructure to consumer electronics. Niron's Iron Nitride technology eliminates the need for rare earth materials entirely, offering a complement to federal and industry efforts to reshore rare earth supply chains rather than a competing approach — the company and others in the sector maintain that the U.S. needs both strategies to secure its magnet supply chain. Niron currently holds 154 issued patents, with 44 more pending.

ABOUT NIRON MAGNETICS

Niron Magnetics is commercializing the world's first rare-earth-free Iron Nitride permanent magnets through a proprietary manufacturing platform designed to scale advanced materials innovation. The company's technology enables high-performance permanent magnets made without rare earths or other critical materials, supporting more resilient and domestic supply chains. Today, Niron's magnets power applications across artificial intelligence infrastructure, automotive, industrial, and consumer electronics. As the company scales manufacturing, its broader materials platform is creating new opportunities to develop the next generation of materials that power motion.

Metacon launches next-generation PERIC electrolyser stacks on the European market

UPPSALA, Sweden, Sept. 10, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Metacon AB (publ), in partnership with PERIC Hydrogen Technologies, launches next-generation pressurised alkaline electrolysis stacks, designed to improve efficiency, durability and system performance for industrial hydrogen production. The new stack generation strengthens the commercial case for customers by addressing key cost drivers in large-scale hydrogen production and leading the way towards highly competitive levelised cost of hydrogen (LCOH) in the European market and beyond.

Metacon AB will under the partnership with PERIC Hydrogen Technologies in Handan, China, release a new generation of alkaline electrolyser stacks on the European market.

The next-generation stack design offers up to 17% higher operating current density and up to 13% lower cell-plate weight compared with the previous reference design. It is designed to support flexible operation across a broad load range, including temporary operation above nominal capacity, subject to the final system configuration and operating conditions. The design and manufacturing improvements are also expected to support lower stack-level cost and improved competitiveness at system level.

The new technology will be deployed immediately in ongoing as well as planned and future commercial projects.

Alkaline pressurised electrolysis is the most robust and researched hydrogen production method that exists and has been continually refined for at least a century. As the original, state-owned research institute for hydrogen technologies in China, PERIC has been continuously developing and optimising very large, pressurised electrolyser stacks for many decades. The portfolio consists of a wide variety of stack sizes, with the 5 MW as the current heart of large industrial production designs. However, PERIC also manufactures 10 MW stacks and the world's largest electrolyser in operation, the 15 MW stack. As of today, PERIC has an annual production capacity of around 6,5 Gigawatt.

"For industrial hydrogen production, the decisive factor is not only the cost for installed capacity, but also the long-term aggregated cost of every kilogram of hydrogen produced. By improving stack efficiency, durability and operating flexibility, this next generation of pressurised alkaline electrolysers directly addresses key drivers of LCOH and strengthens the commercial case for large-scale green hydrogen projects," says Christer Wikner, CEO and President of Metacon.

New Research Finds Collective View of What It Means to Prosper

Prosper Global study based on conversations with more than 1,100 people across six countries challenges conventional assumptions about prosperity and progress

PORTLAND, Ore., Sept. 10, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Across six countries, people facing conflict, the effects of climate change, and economic hardship described prosperity as something shared, not as individual wealth or material success.

That collective view is among the central findings of What It Means to Prosper, a new report from Prosper Global (formerly Mercy Corps) drawing on 396 individual and group conversations with more than 1,100 people in Colombia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Indonesia, Kenya, Syria, and Ukraine.

Rather than start with its own definition of prosperity, Prosper Global asked people to describe in their own words what it means to prosper and what stands in the way.

In the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), one woman said: "Even if I have enough and the other person does not, I can't live in peace. For me to live my life in peace, he must also find his share. Prosperity is a community effort."

In Colombia, a woman said: "It is no use for one person to prosper if others are left behind; there must be progress for every member of the community."

One of the clearest findings was what people did not associate with prosperity. Material wealth was mentioned in fewer than 10 percent of the conversations in five of the six countries. Instead, people spoke about safety, opportunity, and the ability to plan for the future: to educate their children, find meaningful work, grow a farm or business, and make choices about what comes next.

The barriers to prosperity differed by context, from conflict and the consequences of a changing climate to a lack of economic opportunity, particularly for young people. But people also made clear they are not passively waiting for change: they described savings groups, local businesses, mutual aid, and neighbors sharing resources, with community support appearing in more than two-thirds of conversations.

"What people told us is simple: none of us truly prospers alone," said Tjada D'Oyen McKenna, CEO of Prosper Global. "Across very different circumstances, we heard universal aspirations: choice, opportunity, and the chance to build a better future for the people we love. Our role as a partner begins with listening and helping overcome barriers that are too large for any community to tackle alone. At a moment when so much of the world is turning inward, our futures remain interconnected. Prosperity cannot belong to some while others are left behind. Survival should never be the limit of our ambition for one another."

What It Means to Prosper is the first report from Prosper Global's Voices of Prosperity Initiative, an ongoing effort to listen, learn, and share community perspectives on what it takes to prosper. The research reflects a belief at the heart of Prosper Global: when every community can prosper, all of humanity moves forward. Read the full report and explore the voices, stories, and findings here.

About Prosper Global

Tomorrow.io Unveils Full Instrument Architecture for DeepSky, Its Next-Generation Early Warning Weather Satellite Constellation

The five-instrument satellite suite will close the global atmospheric data gap, bringing advanced weather prediction and early warning capabilities to more than 5 billion people currently living without radar coverage.

BOSTON, Sept. 10, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Tomorrow.io today unveiled the full instrument architecture for DeepSky, its next-generation early warning satellite constellation designed to solve the critical global shortage of atmospheric weather data. DeepSky will deploy a multi-sensor suite carrying five unique instruments: precipitation radars, hyperspectral microwave sounders, infrared and visible imaging, GNSS radio occultation, and GNSS reflectometry.

Roughly 71 percent of Earth is covered by ocean with virtually no ground-based weather radar, leaving more than five billion people worldwide outside radar coverage entirely. Storms frequently organize over unmonitored waters, leaving vulnerable coastal communities and global supply chains with short notice when extreme weather hits. DeepSky addresses this fundamental vulnerability by capturing direct observations across the entire atmospheric column, filling the critical data gap that numerical and AI weather models rely on for accurate forecasting.

"The people with the least warning are the people with the most to lose," said Shimon Elkabetz, CEO and co-founder of Tomorrow.io. "A storm strengthening over open ocean is watched far less closely than one approaching a wealthy coastline, and that difference is measured in human lives. It is a gap in what humanity has chosen to measure—and one that we are filling. We call DeepSky an early warning constellation because that is the core mission: deliver clear, actionable atmospheric intelligence to decision-makers early enough to make the right decisions."

Today's reveal of the constellation's full architecture follows other recent developments at the intersection of AI and weather prediction—including Sky 1, Tomorrow.io's atmospheric state model that rebuilds the global weather picture hourly. While software models have recently accelerated how fast observations become forecasts, DeepSky drastically expands how much of the atmosphere is actually observed in real time.

Integrated Five-Instrument Suite

Each spacecraft in the DeepSky constellation is substantially larger than current smallsat sounders, allowing all five instruments to fly on a single bus to observe the same atmospheric column simultaneously:

- Precipitation Radar from Space: Delivers active, high-resolution 3D reflectivity profiles inside cloud systems. Rather than inferring cloud tops, the radar resolves structural anatomy: exact rain location, melting layers, and updraft heights.

- Hyperspectral Microwave Sounders: Measures vertical temperature and moisture profiles across multiple altitudes through cloud cover, day and night. Sounders form the baseline atmospheric profile over oceans and un-radared regions.

- Infrared and Visible Imaging: Captures high-resolution cloud tops, surface thermal dynamics, and environmental indicators on every pass, enabling automated detection and tracking of active wildfire conditions and thermal anomalies.

- GNSS Radio Occultation (RO): Delivers precise vertical atmospheric profiles timed against atomic clocks. Unaffected by cloud cover, RO provides an absolute baseline measurement used to continuously bias-correct and true the rest of the constellation.

- GNSS Reflectometry: Measures ocean surface wind speeds within a storm's rain-wrapped core where conventional scatterometers and optical imagers go blind — capturing the exact surface wind dynamics that determine hurricane intensity at landfall.

Compounding Data Architecture & Global Application

The key is that the effects of the instruments compound. By co-locating active and passive sensors on proliferated Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites, DeepSky creates a compounding data loop. Radio occultation anchors calibration against atomic time; precipitation radar resolves vertical rain structure; optical imagers capture surface thermal activity; and reflectometry reads ocean surface winds through heavy precipitation. Together, the suite provides continuous cross-verification across the spectrum, delivering the foundational training data required for next-generation AI forecasting.

"A forecast can only be as good as what was actually measured," said Rei Goffer, Chief Strategy Officer and co-founder of Tomorrow.io. "Across most of the planet, nobody ever built the instruments to do the measuring, forcing legacy models to fill in the blanks. DeepSky is Tomorrow.io taking direct physical measurements from space to power predictive models, eliminate blind spots, and empower national weather services and enterprise leaders to act with confidence."

DeepSky is engineered for both public safety and commercial decision intelligence. It equips national meteorological and hydrological services accountable for public warnings with reliable data, ensuring public safety no longer depends on geographic location. Concurrently, it empowers global aviation, agriculture, energy, insurance, and supply chain enterprises to mitigate weather disruptions, reduce financial risk, and optimize operational scheduling.

Today, Tomorrow.io operates eleven of its Gen-1 microwave sounders in LEO feeding Sky 1. DeepSky represents the company's next-generation platform now in active production, building upon proven orbital heritage—including commercial pathfinder demonstrations that successfully operated precipitation radar from a small satellite and captured a tropical cyclone's interior structure from space.

GOOGLE & MITTI LABS PARTNER TO ELIMINATE METHANE AND SCALE CLIMATE-SMART AG PRACTICES ACROSS INDIA'S RICE FIELDS
Image File

In the largest rice methane offtake to date, Mitti Labs will deliver one million high-integrity credits to Google by 2030

BENGALURU, India and SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 10, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Deep-tech company Mitti Labs today announced a major five-year carbon credit agreement with Google to scale climate-smart agriculture across 100,000 hectares of smallholder rice farms in India. The announcement follows Mitti Labs' recent funding round showing an increase in momentum for using agriculture as a climate solution.

By transitioning over 70,000 farmers to water and methane-savings irrigation practices, this partnership aims to eliminate 3M tons of near-term warming impact (GWP20, equivalent to 1M tons of GWP100 impact) while conserving billions of gallons of water across critical regional basins.

Methane is a 'superpollutant', a short-lived but potent greenhouse gas that is human-caused and responsible for roughly one third of climate warming to date. Because methane breaks down in the atmosphere in a decade, cutting its emissions today is a direct path to reducing acute near-term warming.

"Google is committed to finding the most promising solutions that neutralize warming across both the near and long term. Mitti Labs' approach delivers critical near-term atmospheric impact by cutting methane emissions, while conserving billions of gallons of water and empowering smallholder farmers to deploy advanced water-management practices. We're excited to partner with them to help accelerate and scale their solution across India," said Kate Brandt, Chief Sustainability Officer at Google.

Rice paddies, continuously flooded under traditional farming practices, are among the largest human-induced sources of methane, accounting for more than 10% of global methane emissions. Mitti Labs has pioneered a model that combines deep engagement in farming communities with the most advanced satellite radar technology to drive a low-cost, science-backed, and rapidly scalable shift to alternate irrigation practices. This shift cuts up to 50% of methane emissions from rice fields and reduces irrigation volumes by close to 40% while maintaining rice yields.

In addition to large-scale methane reduction, the partnership is projected to deliver billions in liters of water savings across the country — the equivalent of Bengaluru's annual supply for three years — and establish a new standard in leveraging satellite technology towards water-efficient rice farming practices.

Mitti Labs' GeoAI platform, developed with support from NASA, fuses high-resolution satellite radar data with field-collected ground truth to generate field-level insights on crop health, soil moisture, and flooding at the resolution of individual smallholder plots.

"Reducing methane from rice farming is one of the most powerful levers we have to slow near-term warming. This partnership is a powerful accelerator of our mission to reduce emissions, save water, and strengthen the livelihoods of the 150 million smallholder farmers who grow one of the world's most important food crops," said Xavier Laguarta, co-founder at Mitti Labs.

With this support from Google, Mitti Labs will continue to leverage the latest in AI crop modelling and radar technology to expand the capabilities of its GeoAI platform, eventually mapping the millions of rice fields across the world into 'digital twins' datasets. These datasets are a blueprint for growing more rice with less water, a key for adapting to a drier climate for millions of smallholder farmers.

Since launching in 2023, Mitti Labs has scaled to deliver the largest alternate irrigation program globally. The company has received an ''A'' rating for its methane-based credits from ratings agency Sylvera in recognition of its rigorous implementation and measurement protocols.

About Mitti Labs

Mitti Labs combines satellite technology, AI and field operations to create a water and climate resilient future for rice farming. To date, its programs have saved 500 billion liters of water — the equivalent of Bengaluru's annual supply. Customers include global technology, service, food and agriculture businesses such as Cool Effect, Ebro Foods, and Syngenta. Since launching in 2023, Mitti Labs has grown to 150 employees and secured $12.5 million from investors such as Lightspeed India, Aramco Ventures, Voyager Ventures, Godrej Industries Group, Cisco Foundation, Francis Family Fund, and Volta Circle. LogistiQ unveils new large package singulator designed for high-throughput parcel sort facilities
Image File
Original HTML

FlowLogiQ L11 optimizes pre-sort package flow by singulating and gapping with an error rate of 1.5% to maximize downstream sorter throughput and accuracy

- FlowLogiQ L11 converts bulk flow of cartons and bags into a single-file, gapped line, ready for induction to automated sorters

- Patent-pending bag shelf enables high-volume parcel operations to efficiently convey unstable items like reusable bags filled with small packages

- High density of drive motors enables optimum speed and gapping control, allowing system to handle high and low volume bursts while maintaining throughput

- Poly-V drive belt produces noise levels up to 10 decibels quieter than similar systems, removing need for customers to provide noise mitigation controls

PORT CLINTON, Ohio, Sept. 10, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- LogistiQ announces the launch of FlowLogiQ L11, a large package singulator for items up to 70 pounds and 30 inches long that converts disorganized bulk flows into a single-file, properly gapped line suitable for automated sortation systems in parcel processing facilities. In applications that handle 15,000 packages per hour with an average parcel length of 27 inches and a product gap of 12 inches, the solution can achieve an error rate of just 1.5%.

The solution uses more drive motors than alternative solutions — three per 10 feet, compared to one per 10 feet — which provides greater speed control in singulating and gapping functions, and simplifies restarting the system in the event of a jam or maintenance. Triple the number of motors means the system can start and stop while laden with up to 100 pounds per foot of belt, avoiding the need to unload packages to restart the system. This higher level of granularity in drive zones enables the optimization of speed profiles for specific materials and required flow rates, while servo-driven gappers help to optimize accuracy and throughput as packages reach the sorter.

A patent-pending bag shelf enables FlowLogiQ L11 to easily handle large reusable bags full of small packages — an increasingly common packaging type in parcel distribution centers in which small orders headed to the same outbound destination are packaged together to increase processing efficiency. After initial alignment, the shelf provides extra clearance to prevent pinching and jams, keeping the packages' centers of gravity on the narrow belts for a single-file flow.

"Distribution centers are processing more packages than ever, and reaching throughput targets requires optimizing the pre-sort process," said Jerry Guerra, CEO, LogistiQ. "Even the highest-performance sorters require a stable, single-file flow to be all they can be, and the new FlowLogiQ system transforms bulk flow through the pre-sort process so operations can optimize overall throughput."

The patented Poly-V drive belt also helps to reduce noise levels during operation, enabling FlowLogiQ L11 to operate at 8-10 decibels quieter than similar solutions. Noise is an important consideration for parcel warehouses that use such systems, and operations often take expensive additional steps to limit noise, such as physically enclosing them. The Poly-V belt-driven solutions do not use compressed air to drive the rollers as other solutions do, resulting in the noise reduction and enabling a more worker-friendly environment.

The system is also designed with the needs of maintenance staff in mind. Rather than requiring technicians to climb under the singulator to access serviceable components, FlowLogiQ is designed with drawers for personnel to pull out and get easy access to replace parts or handle other maintenance tasks.

On April 10, 2026, the FDA published a Complete Response Letter ("CRL") rejecting Replimune's Biologics License Application ("BLA") for RP1 in combination with nivolumab. The FDA identified several deficiencies for each of the studies—RPL-001-16 (IGNYTE) and RP1-104 (IGNYTE-3)—submitted by Replimune and found that "the evidence as presented does not meet the evidentiary standards required for regulatory approval, and the results of the additional exploratory analyses of the RPL-001-16 data do not alter our initial conclusion that the RPL-001-16 trial is not an adequate and well-controlled clinical investigation that demonstrates substantial evidence of effectiveness."

The FDA further revealed that "[t]o support resubmission of the BLA on October 9, 2025, [Replimune] provided [objective response rate] data from an early unplanned analysis" from RP1-104 which included only 40 patients, 10% of the planned enrollment of 400 patients.

In the CRL, the FDA further revealed that it had "clearly communicated" its "concerns with the study design in multiple FDA interactions throughout [Replimune's] development program," but that "the study design concerns previously communicated were not addressed, and the contribution of [RP1] to the observed response rate in RPL-001-16 could not be determined."

On this news, Replimune's stock price fell $1.15 per share, or 19.46%, to close at $4.76 per share on April 10, 2026.

Then, on April 10, 2026, after the market closed, the Company issued a press release discussing the FDA's response letter for the RP1 BLA. In the press release, Replimune conceded that "a randomized controlled trial was preferred" by the FDA, but also claimed that the FDA communicated that "if the data was sufficiently compelling, a single arm trial could be acceptable for consideration under accelerated approval."

On this news, the Company's share price continued to fall $3.06 per share, or 64.29%, to close at $1.70 per share on April 13, 2026.

On April 28, 2026, Pelican Way Research published a short report alleging that Blaize had "artificially boosted [its] share price by engaging in a bogus deal with a 4-month-old counterparty whose website features 'products' that appear to be photoshopped to add the Blaize logo." The report specifically referred to Blaize's purported deal with NeoTensr, announced on April 16, 2026, and supposedly "set to deploy co-branded AI edge data center infrastructure", following which Blaize's "stock price soar[ed] ~25%". The Pelican Way report alleges "that the website of NeoTensr was registered just a few months ago in December 2025" and "that, according to Chinese filings, NeoTensr claims to have just ~$2mm of startup capital."

Following publication of the short report, Blaize's stock price fell $0.26 per share, or 12.04%, to close at $1.90 per share on April 28, 2026.
