Sober October Is Here, and Three-Time 2026 Award Winner Drybridge No. 86 Is Betting the Future of NA Whiskey Belongs at the Bar

The San Diego-born, whiskey-inspired non-alcoholic spirit is heading into Sober October with a bigger mission: pushing the category beyond alcohol substitution and into the sipping ritual, bar culture and nightlife.

SAN DIEGO, Oct. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The non-alcoholic spirits category has spent years answering one question: What can you drink instead?

Drybridge No. 86 is asking a different one: Why should the ritual have to change?

The San Diego-born, veteran-owned whiskey-inspired non-alcoholic spirit was developed around a simple premise: someone choosing not to drink alcohol should still be able to sit at the bar, pick up a heavy rocks glass and have something worth sipping slowly.

Heading into Sober October, that positioning now comes with significant industry validation. It took 172 formulations, tasting sessions and feedback from whiskey drinkers, bartenders and hospitality professionals before arriving at the version that became Batch 173. Launched this year, Drybridge No. 86 has already earned three 2026 award wins spanning taste and design:

- American Whiskey of the Year at the 2026 International Non-Alcoholic Competition

- Silver Award with a score of 80 at the 2026 Summer PR%F Awards tasting competition

- Double Gold at the 2026 Summer PR%F Awards design competition

Awarded for taste. Recognized for design. Built for the ritual.

SOBER OCTOBER, WITHOUT SITTING OUT

That philosophy becomes especially relevant during Sober October, when consumers across the country will experiment with going 31 days without alcohol.

No. 86's invitation to them is simple:

86 the alcohol. Not your social life.

Keep the reservation. Keep the concert. Keep the rocks glass.

"Drinking less doesn't mean you suddenly stop liking bars, whiskey glasses, live music, good dinners or staying out late," said Nichols. "For me, this started with wanting to drink less without giving up the parts of the experience I actually enjoyed."

ABOUT DRYBRIDGE NO. 86

Drybridge No. 86 is a veteran-owned, San Diego-based, whiskey-inspired non-alcoholic sipping spirit co-founded by Navy veteran Sean Sailes and Jason Nichols.

Drybridge No. 86 is available at DrinkNo86.com, Amazon and at select bars throughout San Diego.

onX Hunt Expands Safety and Navigation Tools for the New Hunting Season

Location Sharing, offline onX navigation, and onX SOS help hunters stay connected, navigate beyond cell service, and prepare for emergencies

MISSOULA, Mont., Oct. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- onX Hunt, the leading navigation app for hunters, has expanded its suite of safety and navigation tools this season to help hunters explore with confidence, stay connected with their group, and access professional support in an emergency. Recent additions and updates include Location Sharing, offline onX Navigation, and onX SOS, a separate $49.99-per-year add-on available to onX Hunt members on iOS and Android.

"Hunters have been clear about what they need in the field: an easier way to coordinate with their group, dependable navigation beyond cell service, and a backup plan when something goes wrong," said Cliff Cancelosi, Senior Vice President of onX Hunt. "We built these tools around those real-world situations so hunters can feel more prepared throughout their trip."

Split up and Stay Connected with Location Sharing

New for this season, Location Sharing lets hunters see their party's live locations together on one map. A paid onX Hunt member can start or join a session and invite up to nine others, so the group can see where everyone is, adjust meeting points, and regroup when plans change. Location Sharing requires a data connection (cellular, Wi-Fi, or satellite service with a compatible data plan).

Locations update every five seconds. If someone drops a signal, their last known location stays pinned on the map with a timestamp until they're back in coverage. Participants can join or leave at any time, and onX deletes their location data as soon as they do; all session data is deleted when the session ends. Before a trip, hunters can use the Cell Coverage Map Layer to identify areas where service may be limited.

For more information on Location Sharing, visit onxmaps.com/hunt/app/features/location-sharing.

Stay on route beyond cell service with Offline onX Navigation

A recent onX analysis found that more than 646 million acres—roughly 28% of the U.S. land area—lack cellular coverage. Now available on both iOS and Android, offline onX Navigation helps hunters stay on route when cell service drops by calculating routes and reroutes entirely on-device within a downloaded Offline Map. Hunters can download the relevant area before a trip, then start or adjust navigation after leaving service, and follow turn by turn directions. A network connection is required if the route extends beyond the downloaded map boundary.

Get professional help when the unexpected happens with onX SOS

onX SOS, powered by Overwatch x Rescue, gives hunters a professional backup plan when the unexpected happens. The separate $49.99-per-year add-on connects subscribers with a trained coordinator and provides financial coverage for eligible rescue and evacuation costs, with no claims process, deductible, or unexpected rescue bills.

When activated, onX SOS prepares an SMS containing the user's GPS coordinates and account information and sends it through cellular or supported satellite messaging to Overwatch x Rescue's 24/7 Crisis Response Center. A trained coordinator begins two-way communication, manages the response, and stays engaged until help arrives.

Overwatch x Rescue is a service of FocusPoint International, which has more than 15 years of emergency response experience and has coordinated more than 15,000 rescues across more than 220 countries and territories. For more information on onX SOS, visit onxmaps.com/sos.

Availability

- Offline turn-by-turn navigation is available on current versions of onX Hunt for iOS and Android. Android customers should update to version 26.28 or later.

- Location Sharing is available to all paid onX Hunt members.

- onX SOS is available in onX Hunt on iOS and Android and can be purchased at any membership tier. It requires a mobile device with cellular or supported satellite SMS capability.

HelloNation Article Featuring Remodeling Expert Ray Runyon Breaks Down the Home Remodeling Timeline
Original HTML

The article explains key phases of a remodel and how planning, permits, and construction factors influence overall project timelines.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Oct. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- How long does a home remodel really take from start to finish? A HelloNation article helps answer this question by explaining the phases and timelines involved in a typical remodeling project. The article highlights what homeowners can expect at each step of the process, from planning to finishing touches, and how understanding the home remodeling timeline can reduce confusion and set realistic expectations. A HelloNation article offers detailed insights from Grand Rapids-based Remodeling Expert Ray Runyon of Avalon Remodeling.

The article emphasizes that most remodeling projects follow a clear sequence, but each phase can bring different challenges and timelines. The planning phase often takes longer than expected, especially for kitchen or bathroom renovations. Homeowners are encouraged to invest time upfront in layout decisions, material selections, and budgeting. For example, the kitchen remodel timeline Michigan homeowners face often includes extended lead times due to custom cabinetry or the need to align with local building codes.

Permits play a crucial role in determining how quickly a remodel can move forward. The article notes that the permitting process varies based on project scope and municipal requirements. For homeowners in Grand Rapids, even a relatively straightforward bathroom renovation timeline can be affected by how quickly plans are approved or whether revisions are needed. Delays at this stage are common and should be factored into early expectations.

Once construction begins, the article points out that this phase is the most variable. Contractors must schedule several trades, and progress can slow down due to material shortages or unexpected weather. As part of the home remodel, construction involves structural work, plumbing, electrical work, and other complex tasks. These dependencies often lead to unavoidable remodel delays, especially when dealing with high-demand trades or specialty installations.

Inspections are another factor homeowners often overlook when considering the construction timeline. According to the article, city inspectors are required to sign off on key elements of the project, and work typically cannot proceed until inspections are passed. These checks are necessary for safety and compliance, but they can cause pauses in construction activities.

The article also discusses the importance of finishing touches, which may seem minor but are essential for project completion. Final tasks, such as painting, flooring, and fixture installation, require precision and time. Even small setbacks during this stage can shift the overall timeline. By planning for these details early, homeowners can avoid last-minute surprises.

The piece concludes by reminding readers that every remodeling project is different. A small update may take a few weeks, while a full kitchen overhaul could last several months. Understanding the full home remodeling timeline helps homeowners communicate better with contractors, stay within budget, and maintain control. This includes anticipating delays during the remodel, managing its phases, and being flexible when needed.

Preparation is key, and as the article notes, clear communication and a phased approach go a long way in making the process smoother. With the right expectations and planning, homeowners in Grand Rapids and beyond can navigate the remodeling process with greater confidence.

"How Long Does a Home Remodel Take? Understanding Timelines & Phases" features insights from Ray Runyon, Remodeling Expert of Grand Rapids, MI, in HelloNation.

EvaSpeaks Launches Omnichannel AI Platform That Turns Conversations Into Qualified Leads
Image File
Original HTML

From live conversations to emailed inquiries, EvaSpeaks keeps leads moving toward booking, follow-up and CRM action

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- EvaSpeaks today announced the launch of its omnichannel AI agent platform, built to convert customer intent into qualified opportunities and business action.

Customer interest loses value when a conversation ends with a message instead of a next step. EvaSpeaks helps businesses act while that interest is still fresh.

During phone and website conversations, EvaSpeaks agents use company-approved knowledge to answer questions, identify intent, qualify prospects, check availability and book appointments. Connected tools can create or update CRM leads, open support tickets, schedule follow-up or transfer a caller with the conversation context intact.

An emailed inquiry does not have to stop in an inbox. EvaSpeaks can capture it as a lead, send a reply drawn from the business's own knowledge and, when the inquiry includes a phone number, queue a callback with its context. The business chooses whether a team member approves the callback or the AI agent places it automatically. Callbacks use the same do-not-call and calling-hours controls as other outbound calls. Appointment confirmations and reminders can be sent by text.

"Most businesses do not have a communication problem. They have a momentum problem," said Kishore Pal, CEO of EvaSpeaks. "A customer reaches out ready to act, but the next step happens too slowly. EvaSpeaks connects the conversation to the work that moves the opportunity forward."

Each interaction creates a business record containing the customer's intent, captured information, outcome and action status. Teams can see which conversations produced leads, appointments, escalations or follow-up without rebuilding the story from scattered notes.

Businesses configure EvaSpeaks around their operations. They can add knowledge from websites and documents, define qualification and escalation rules, connect calendars and customer systems and control which actions an agent may perform. Agents and activity are managed from one workspace.

Businesses can create an EvaSpeaks account and begin building an agent.

About EvaSpeaks

EvaSpeaks connects customer intent to business action. Its configurable AI agents use approved company knowledge and connected tools to qualify leads, book appointments, support customers, update business systems and coordinate follow-up across phone, web, email and outbound messaging. Screams Coming from the Best Haunts Turn Fright into Treasured Memories

America Haunts recognizes the top haunted attractions for Best Scream for Your Buck – these haunt leaders spend the off-season enhancing their fear-based entertainment to create memorable experiences.

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Oct. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- A great haunted attraction doesn't happen by accident. It takes years of experience and a team of professionals mastering multiple disciplines to create the experiences that draw crowds to America's premier haunted attractions and earn recognition for Best Scream for Your Buck.

Shortly after one Halloween season ends, the work begins on the next. Haunt professionals research, conceptualize, design, build, test, and refine. They develop new storyline twists and characters, rethink familiar scares, incorporate new technologies and special effects, and create environments designed to transport guests into another world.

Then there are the scare actors who bring it all to life in the season: they know how to read a group, build anticipation, deliver a perfectly timed scare, and make fright fun.

The mega-haunt experts who deliver the Best Scream for Your Buck pull out all the stops, combining technology, scare-cast, immersive realism, and inventive ideas to create experiences that keep guests guessing, laughing, screaming, and on edge from beginning to end.

That's a lot of time, talent, and creativity invested in one goal: creating a valued entertainment experience.

A great scare becomes a treasured memory.

For 2026, America Haunts has named the top five attractions that exemplify the Best Scream for Your Buck, where experienced professionals and year-round creativity come together to create unforgettable Halloween-season outings.

1. Erebus Haunted Attraction — Pontiac, Michigan (Detroit area)

Erebus Haunted Attraction is a four-story descent into the elaborate mind of a mad doctor, Dr. Colber, and his world of horror, experimentation, and unexpected surprises.

Located in Downtown Pontiac, Erebus takes guests through more than a half-mile of immersive indoor environments filled with elaborate sets, live performers, special effects, and constantly changing twists. Rather than simply walking past scenes, guests become part of the experience as they move through the attraction and encounter something different around every corner.

Known for its large-scale environments and innovative approach to haunted attractions, Erebus has become a destination for Halloween fans from throughout Metro Detroit and beyond.

Nearly 30 years of pushing the boundaries of fear have made Erebus a full-scale attraction you won't find anywhere else.

2. Factory of Terror — Canton, Ohio

25 years of manufacturing nightmares is engineered for fright and fun.

Factory of Terror has spent 25 years turning its Canton, Ohio, industrial setting into a Halloween-season tradition. The 2026 season combines multiple haunted attractions, a sprawling midway, an all-new Grimm Woods Jack-o'-Lantern walkthrough and a cast of professional performers.

Over a mile of haunted attractions, more than 100 live actors, moving walls, animatronics and special effects give the Factory a huge canvas for creating fear. Attractions include Forsaken Asylum of Dr. Morbidius, Industrial Nightmare, Massacre on Mahoning and The Abyss.

Beyond the scares, guests can explore the new Grimm Woods Halloween experience, featuring hundreds of glowing jack-o'-lanterns in an immersive Halloween walkthrough. The Factory of Terror experience also includes themed bars creating an entire evening of Halloween entertainment in one location.

3. Niles Scream Park — Niles, Michigan

Six major attractions. Reinvented year after year.

Niles Scream Park spreads its experience across 44 acres, combining multiple haunted attractions with entertainment and midway activities.

The Niles Haunted House alone offers more than 100 different paths, and the park says it would take at least seven trips to conquer them all. Its rooms, themes, sound effects, and scares change every year, giving returning guests a different experience each season. In 2026, the haunted mansion takes guests into an age-old battle between vampires and those sworn to destroy them.

The park also offers five-minute escape rooms, the Six Feet Under Bar, midway activities, photo opportunities and other entertainment, creating a full night of Halloween-season experiences.

4. The Haunted Trail of Balboa Park — San Diego, California

Locals and tourists seek out this nationally recognized outdoor haunt to encounter the beasts lurking in the haunted woods and the 3,500-square-foot maze.

The Haunted Trail of Balboa Park makes the most of its unusual setting inside San Diego's historic Balboa Park. Its 2026 experience combines a 3,500-square-foot eXperiment Maze with a mile-long Haunted Trail winding through the gnarled oaks of historic Marston Point.

The two environments demonstrate how seasoned haunt professionals use natural surroundings alongside technology, actors and special effects to create a memorable experience.

The experience extends beyond the haunt with the Dark Carnival, featuring themed entertainment, interactive creatures, photo opportunities, food, and merchandise, giving both locals and visitors another reason to make the haunt part of a San Diego night out.

5. Bates Motel and Haunted Hayride — Glen Mills, Pennsylvania (Philadelphia area)

Check in for the three attractions. Check out with a night of memorable screams and laughs.

For three generations, the Bates family has lived on Arasapha Farm and transformed the family property into Bates Motel and Haunted Hayride, a Halloween destination, building and expanding its elaborate attractions during the off-season.

This attraction features the Bates Motel, a 25-minute Haunted Hayride, and the Revenge of the Scarecrows Haunted Corn Trail. The Haunted Hayride travels through huge sets including a 100-foot-long, 40-foot-tall drive-through insane asylum, a full-scale New England church, and a massive cavern populated by dinosaurs and flying demons.

This year's expansion follows the significant new scenes added in 2025, including an entire Wild West town with 15 buildings and an abandoned toxic-waste dump.

Three attractions, substantial sets, and months of preparation give guests a haunt-season experience built to deliver fright and delight.

Creating a scare worth remembering takes enormous expertise, labor, and creativity.

That year-round commitment turns a night of haunt entertainment into an experience guests value, talk about, and return to with others.

America Haunts is the national association of premier haunted attractions, representing some of the most respected and recognized haunts in the United States. Its members set the standard for safety, creativity, and innovation, delivering immersive, spine-chilling experiences that have helped make haunted attractions a destination for Halloween entertainment.
