- The free seasonal challenge invites guests and members to complete eight sessions in October for a chance to win a curated Sauna Essentials Kit

- Participants can share their progress on social media with custom social trackers

COSTA MESA, Calif., Oct. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Perspire Sauna Studio, the nation's largest infrared and red-light therapy sauna franchise, today announced the launch of its Fall Ritual Challenge, a free seasonal campaign that encourages members to slow down and reset their rhythm with warmth, stillness and intentional recovery. Running October 1 through October 31, 2026, the challenge invites all Perspire guests and members to complete eight sessions for a chance to win a curated Sauna Essentials Kit

Fall as an Invitation to Turn Inward

As the days get shorter and schedules shift back into full swing, fall offers a natural pause, and a reason to turn inward. The Fall Ritual Challenge is designed to help participants use that seasonal shift to reset and encourages them to treat their time in the sauna as a steady, intentional ritual. With consistent sessions, participants can experience how regular infrared sauna and red light therapy may support relaxation, recovery and an overall sense of well-being as the season changes.

"Fall has a way of asking us to slow down, and we want to help people listen to that," said Lee Braun, Founder and CEO of Perspire Sauna Studio. "The Fall Ritual Challenge is an invitation to reset your rhythm with warmth, stillness and intentional recovery, and to build a routine that carries you through the rest of the year."

Building on a Year of Rituals

The Fall Ritual Challenge follows two seasonal challenges earlier this year with over 7,000 participants combined. The 2026 Spring Reset Challenge saw 35% of challengers complete the challenge while the 2026 Summer Ritual Challenge, drew a 38% finisher rate, the highest completion rate of the year so far. "Every season, we're seeing more members follow through on a commitment to wellness rituals," said Braun. "That consistency is how the benefits of infrared and red light therapy build on each other, and it's exactly what this challenge is designed to encourage."

New This Fall: A Shareable Progress Tracker

Fall Ritual Challenge participants can download a social tracker to log their sessions and share their progress toward completing the challenge on social media. The tracker gives members a simple way to stay accountable, celebrate milestones along the way and connect with other challengers across the Perspire community. Participants are encouraged to tag @perspiresaunastudio and use #fallritualchallenge when sharing.

Fall Ritual Challenge Details & Rules:

- The challenge is free to join and can be registered for in the Perspire 2.0 App, online via the studio microsite, or in studio with the help of a team member.

- The social tracker is available to download via the Fall Ritual Challenge landing page or the Perspire Sauna Studio Instagram @perspiresaunastudio.

- The challenge is open to all Perspire guests and members.

- Members who complete eight sessions between October 1 and October 31 and share their journey after completion will be entered for a chance to win a curated Sauna Essentials Kit. Members can submit their story via this form: Fall Ritual Challenge Submission.

- Members can visit any participating Perspire Sauna Studio location to complete their challenge sessions.

- Terms and conditions apply. Void where prohibited.

- Visit the Fall Ritual Challenge landing page to learn more: perspiresaunastudio.com/challenges/fall-ritual-2026

GMP Labeling Celebrates 40 Years of US Manufacturing for Regulated Industries
Image File
Original HTML

GRANITE BAY, Calif., Oct. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- As pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors navigate evolving global supply chain risks, GMP Labeling Inc. is utilizing Manufacturing Day 2026 to highlight its nearly 40-year history as a domestic manufacturer of critical compliance identification. The company specializes in the foundational traceability components required for stringent regulatory environments. View the company's core capabilities and full catalog.

While often viewed as minor components, labels for quality control, sample identification, and equipment status represent a potential vulnerability in highly regulated production lines. Material inconsistencies or shipping delays can interrupt manufacturing workflows, complicate federal audits, and compromise the integrity of quality records.

"In the highly regulated environments of biotechnology and medical manufacturing, a label is far more than a simple supply item," said Robin Kalsbeek, General Manager of GMP Labeling. "It is a critical element of traceability and compliance."

Strategic advantages for life sciences

For pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, the company's domestic production model supports specific operational requirements:

- Supply Chain Reliability: Stock quality control labels remain available for rapid dispatch to prevent production bottlenecks.

- Material Continuity: Revision-controlled development and lot segregation practices ensure material consistency, mitigating risk for long-term projects.

- Regulatory Qualification: The ISO 9001-certified quality management system is open for customer review, facilitating the documentation required for rigorous supplier evaluation programs.

- Environmental Performance: Specialized engineering enables label durability in demanding conditions, including cryogenic storage, autoclave cycles, and xylene exposure.

GMP Labeling has maintained its manufacturing footprint in the United States since its founding in 1987. The organization provides a stable alternative to international suppliers susceptible to logistics volatility.

This domestic focus ensures that biotech and medical device firms can maintain continuous compliance with safety standards through dedicated account management and technical expertise. The company's catalog further extends to facility signs, barcode printers, and custom identification solutions designed for cleanroom-compatible applications.

GMP Labeling is a trusted provider of compliance-focused label solutions for medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and other regulated manufacturing environments. GMP Labeling partners with leading technology and material suppliers to deliver durable, traceable, and customizable labeling systems that support quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. The company's solutions include quality control labels, custom labels, asset tags, calibration and safety labels, thermal printers, ribbons, and software integration services.

SQC and Schneider Electric Use Hybrid Quantum-Classical Models to Improve Energy Forecasting

Partnership moves to Stage 2 of Australia's Critical Technologies Challenge Program following an average 20% improvement in forecasting accuracy with SQC's Watermelon™ system

SYDNEY, Oct. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Silicon Quantum Computing (SQC) and Schneider Electric, a global energy technology leader, have progressed to Stage 2 of the Australian Government's Critical Technologies Challenge Program (CTCP), receiving A$3.6 million (US$2.5m) in funding to continue their work in partnership with UNSW Sydney.

Energy grids are under increasing pressure and urgent solutions are required. As rooftop solar, home batteries and electric vehicles become widespread, household energy systems have become more dynamic and difficult to predict. Schneider Electric uses advanced forecasting and optimisation technologies to help balance distributed energy resources, including forecasting when to switch back and forth to solar energy deployment.

During Stage 1, the joint team explored whether SQC's atomically engineered, quantum-enhanced AI chip, Watermelon, could improve the accuracy of Schneider Electric's forecasting models. Watermelon generates quantum features that, when used alongside classical features, deliver richer models with greater predictive abilities.

For companies like Schneider Electric, more accurate forecasting can improve the management of distributed energy resources, increase renewable energy utilisation and contribute to lower energy costs for consumers. Even modest improvements in forecasting accuracy can deliver these benefits, and Stage 1 results delivered well beyond that threshold.

By applying Watermelon to next-day forecasting data over a 12-month period, SQC and Schneider Electric achieved an average 20% improvement in forecasting accuracy against the classical benchmark, with gains up to 41%.

Building on these results, Stage 2 funding will expand modelling to hundreds of homes across Australia, with direct integration into Schneider Electric's AI workflows. This work provides a clear pathway for today's quantum computing systems to be used in production environments.

Michelle Simmons, Founder and CEO of Silicon Quantum Computing, said: "We have always believed that quantum processors would work alongside CPUs and GPUs to deliver real-world performance gains. The results we have achieved with Schneider Electric demonstrate how quantum-enhanced AI can address practical challenges across the energy sector and time-series datasets more broadly. We're grateful to the Australian Government for continuing to back this important work."

Colette Munro, Pacific Zone President at Schneider Electric, added: "The energy system is becoming more dynamic with variables like rooftop solar, EVs, and home batteries creating new levels of complexity. Together with SQC, we've demonstrated how advanced energy technology has the potential to better manage this complexity, lowering costs for consumers and using energy more efficiently across the system."

Launched in 2025, Watermelon is deployed with customers across telecommunications, banking, high-frequency trading and more. The system is available via cloud and hardware sale, including turnkey data center deployment.

Curaleaf International Secures Australian First with TGA Registered Liquid Medical Cannabis Inhalation Device and Extends Availability to New Zealand

LONDON, Oct. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Curaleaf International, part of Curaleaf Holdings, Inc. (TSX: CURA) in partnership with Jupiter Research LLC, today announced that its Que Medical Inhalation Device (QMID) is available in Australia, following the registration by Australia's Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), on 15 September 2026. One year after receiving EU Medical Device Registration, QMID is listed as a Class IIb Medical Device in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG), making it the first device intended for the delivery of Cannabis Sativa L. extracts via inhalation by the patient to receive regulatory approval in Australia. QMID has also been added to the Web Assisted Notification of Devices (WAND) database operated by Medsafe, New Zealand's medicines and medical device regulatory, on 17 September 2026, making the device available to prescribers in New Zealand.

Dr Mikael Sodergren, Chief Medical Officer at Curaleaf International, commented, "This registration means that, for the first time, clinicians in Australia and New Zealand can prescribe a liquid cannabis inhalation device that has been formally approved and delivers standardised dosing, in the same way as other medicines. That reflects the level of clinical evidence, safety testing and regulatory scrutiny required before a new technology reaches patients."

Juan Martinez, Curaleaf International CEO, added: "We are proud that QMID is the first liquid cannabis inhalation device to be approved under both EU and Australian medical device frameworks. We are grateful to the TGA for the rigour and engagement it brought to this process. Its insistence that devices meet the same standards as the medicines they deliver is exactly right, and it is what makes this registration meaningful for patients. Together with Jupiter, we have invested heavily to meet that bar, and we intend to bring the same standard to more patients wherever the regulatory pathway allows, starting with New Zealand."

The registration marks a breakthrough in the evolution of Australia's medical cannabis market, where more than one million patients have accessed treatment under the country's prescribing framework since it was established in 20161, and represents the next step in Curaleaf International's strategy to expand access to pharmaceutical-grade cannabinoid delivery technologies worldwide.

The registration also addresses a long-standing gap in the Australian market. While medicines themselves are prescribed through the TGA's approved pathways, the devices used to inhale them have largely remained outside the ARTG. Prescribers and pharmacists have reported difficulty obtaining approvals for unregistered batteries, leaving some patients with their prescribed medicine but no compliant means of using it, and the regulator has repeatedly called for clinical justification where unapproved devices are used. QMID gives clinicians a registered alternative: a device whose safety and performance have been formally assessed, rather than one supplied outside the regulatory framework.

QMID became the first handheld liquid inhalation device for consistent medical cannabis administration to achieve certification as a Class IIa medical device under the European Medical Device Regulation (EU) 2017/745 in May 2025. Following its European certification, QMID has continued its international rollout and is now available in seven countries, with Australia joining following a multi-year regulatory process to secure inclusion in the ARTG, and New Zealand through Medsafe's WAND notification process, with Vicki Partridge Pty Ltd acting as both Australian and New Zealand sponsor.

Curaleaf International and Jupiter Research have made significant investments over several years in the engineering, safety testing and regulatory work required to bring QMID through two medical device frameworks. That investment reflects a shared view that patients using inhaled cannabis-based medicines should have the same assurance of device quality and consistency that applies to any other medicine.

Designed to provide energy to the product to facilitate aerosolization of the medicine, QMID offers patients and prescribers:

- A controlled delivery system designed to support consistent dosing and comparable clinical data.

- A compact and simple design for discreet medical use.

- Reusable hardware compatible only with approved cartridges.

The TGA's registration of QMID, and its listing in New Zealand, reflects a positive shift and maturing regulatory pathway for certified cannabis-based medical devices in Australasia. The device is the first of its kind internationally and demonstrates a commitment to innovation and product development, and to the safe and consistent delivery of prescribed cannabis-based medicines.

Research partnership applies data and AI to speed the path to new treatments and strengthen nutrition and environmental resilience

CARY, N.C., Oct. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Fifty years after SAS grew out of an agricultural research project at North Carolina State University, the two organizations are launching a new research partnership to apply trusted data and AI to challenges in human health, nutrition and environmental resilience.

SAS and NC State today announced the SAS Think & Do Tank, integrating SAS' data, AI and analytics expertise into interdisciplinary research through NC State's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. The initiative is designed to move promising discoveries toward real-world impact while building trusted and responsible AI practices into the research from the start.

"The next generation of innovators will need more than powerful technology. They'll need the judgment to use it responsibly," said SAS CEO Jim Goodnight. "By connecting NC State's interdisciplinary research with SAS' data, AI and industry expertise, we can help students and researchers build trusted approaches to problems that matter."

"This partnership extends a relationship that has shaped discovery in North Carolina for decades," said NC State Chancellor Kevin Howell. "True to our Think and Do spirit, NC State and SAS will collaborate to create new opportunities for students, faculty and industry partners to apply AI in service of society."

Can AI help promising treatments reach patients faster?

One of the first research efforts will focus on translational predictive biology, an emerging field that uses advanced biological models, data and AI to better predict how diseases and potential treatments may behave in humans.

NC State researchers are building a process that connects studies in living systems with advanced lab models, including organoids, small, simplified versions of organs grown from cells, and organ-on-chip technologies that mimic aspects of human organ function.

The long-term promise is significant: Better predictive models could help researchers identify promising treatments earlier, understand why interventions succeed or fail, and reduce the time and cost required to move new therapies toward clinical use.

But the work also creates a difficult data challenge. Researchers can collect enormous detail across cells, tissues, molecular pathways and time, but from relatively few biological subjects. Conventional AI models can struggle in this environment, identifying patterns that may not hold up across studies or translate from one biological system to another.

The team will explore statistical and AI approaches designed for these complex datasets. The models will aim to account for biological relationships, quantify uncertainty and help researchers understand why a model reaches a conclusion.

The effort will give researchers more actionable insight into biological responses and better evidence for deciding which potential interventions warrant further study.

Over time, the work could also help create AI-ready research datasets that allow scientists to compare findings across studies, identify new patterns and generate new hypotheses.

SAS will serve as a technical partner across the research working groups, providing data and AI software, expertise and responsible AI guidance. Faculty and students will gain hands-on experience applying advanced analytics to active research while emphasizing ethical data practices and transparency.

A partnership 50 years in the making

Designed as a scalable two-year pilot, the Think & Do Tank will establish a governance and research collaboration model that could eventually extend to additional disciplines and institutions. It aligns with SAS' broader Trust in Innovation efforts and NC State's "Think and Do" approach to turning knowledge into impact.

For SAS, the partnership brings its story with NC State full circle: returning to the place where the company began to invest in the next generation of research, technology and talent.
