TA' XBIEX, Malta, Oct. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Betsson Group today announced the launch of the Betsson Foundation, a registered public benefit foundation that brings together and supports the Group's charitable, community and sports-related initiatives under one organisation.

For many years, Betsson Group has contributed to a wide range of organisations and local communities across its markets and office locations, from employee-led fundraising and grassroots projects to community and CSR initiatives developed through our partnerships with leading football clubs and athletes.

The launch of the Betsson Foundation marks the next step in the Group's long-standing commitment to creating positive impact. The Foundation will serve as the central organisation for coordinating and scaling Betsson Group's social impact activities, working closely with employees, partners and local organisations across Betsson's markets. By bringing together existing and new initiatives under a shared framework, the Foundation will strengthen collaboration and knowledge sharing, while increasing the long-term impact of these initiatives.

"Sport and community engagement have long been part of Betsson's DNA. The launch of the Betsson Foundation strengthens our ability to support the people, programmes and organisations making a positive difference in our communities. It also gives us the opportunity to work even more closely with our clubs and athlete partners to connect the power and reach of sport with meaningful community initiatives", said Jesper Svensson, CEO of Betsson Operations.

"Through the Betsson Foundation, we aim to create lasting positive impact by supporting worthy causes, fostering long-term partnerships, and bringing together initiatives that strengthen communities across our locations", said Jonna Danlund, Director of ESG.

Sport will remain a central focus of the Foundation's work, reflecting Betsson's long-standing engagement and partnerships across the sporting community. The Foundation will seek to leverage Betsson's global sports partnerships to expand the reach and impact of its initiatives.

As the Foundation develops, it will continue to build on existing partnerships while identifying new opportunities to support communities across Betsson's markets. One recent example is the Foundation's support for Boosting Up, a five-year programme in Peru that supports 22 participants from a school in Lima through football, English-language education and nutritional support.

The Betsson Foundation has been incorporated in Malta as a separate legal entity and operates under a governance framework comprising the founding company, a Board of Administrators, and a Supervisory Council. The structure provides oversight and accountability while supporting the Foundation in pursuing its philanthropic objectives and managing its activities responsibly and in accordance with applicable legal requirements.

Ascletis' ASC36_35FDC Demonstrated Potential for Once-Monthly to Once-Quarterly Dosing and Robust Weight-Loss in Preclinical Studies Presented at EASD 2026

HONG KONG, Oct. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Ascletis Pharma Inc. (HKEX: 1672, "Ascletis") today announced the presentation of key preclinical data for its ASC36_35FDC (ASC36_35 co-formulation) at the 62nd European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) Annual Meeting, being held September 28–October 2, 2026, in Milan, Italy (EASD 2026). ASC36_35FDC is a once-monthly to once-quarterly fixed-dose combination injection of ASC36, a peptide amylin receptor agonist, and ASC35, a peptide GLP-1R/GIPR agonist. The study was presented in a short oral discussion. The data demonstrated that ASC36_35FDC exhibited a greater weight-loss trend than eloralintide/tirzepatide or MET-233i/tirzepatide co-formulations in a diet-induced obesity (DIO) rat model, as well as excellent formulation stability. Furthermore, once-weekly oral tablet formulation of ASC36_35FDC has been developed by the Company.

Key Highlights

Robust Weight-Loss: Demonstrating Potential Synergistic Effects in Preclinical Models

In both DIO rat and non-human primate (NHP) models, ASC36_35FDC showed greater additional reductions in body weight and food intake compared with ASC35 monotherapy, suggesting a potential synergistic effect of the combination.

In the DIO rat model, ASC36_35FDC administered at 5 nmol/kg_8 nmol/kg once every two days for a total of seven doses demonstrated substantial weight-loss. On Day 14, under the same dosing regimen, body weight decreased by 12.5% with the eloralintide/tirzepatide co-formulation, 16.8% with the MET-233i/tirzepatide co-formulation, and 24.8% with ASC36_35FDC, a 98% and 47% greater relative reduction in body weight, respectively. Cumulative food intake was also substantially lower in the ASC36_35FDC group compared to the two comparator groups.

Excellent Chemical and Physical Stability: No Evidence of Fibrotic Aggregation

Long-term formulation stability is critical for peptide-based therapeutics. Under simulated storage conditions (200 rpm, 25°C, 168 hours), no fibril-induced aggregation was observed for ASC36_35FDC across different concentrations, vehicles, or pH conditions. In contrast, cagrilintide exhibited substantial fibrotic aggregation under the same conditions. These findings demonstrate the excellent chemical and physical stability of ASC36_35FDC and provide a strong foundation for further clinical development and potential large-scale manufacturing.

Pharmacokinetic Profile: Potential for Once-Monthly to Once-Quarterly Dosing

In NHPs, the pharmacokinetic (PK) profile of ASC36_35FDC was comparable to that observed following administration of ASC36 or ASC35 alone. The observed half-life of ASC36 and ASC35 demonstrated in ASC36_35FDC were as long as 781 hours(approximately 33 days) and 721 hours (approximately 30 days), respectively, supporting once-monthly and the potential for once-quarterly subcutaneous administration in humans. This ultra-long-acting profile has the potential to improve treatment convenience and patient adherence, offering a more convenient therapeutic approach for chronic weight management.

Summary and Outlook

ASC36_35FDC is an internally developed combination therapy leveraging Ascletis' proprietary Artificial Intelligence-assisted Structure-Based Drug Discovery (AISBDD) and Ultra-Long-Acting Platform (ULAP) technologies. By combining an amylin receptor agonist with a GLP-1R/GIPR dual agonist, ASC36_35FDC is designed to leverage the complementary effects of these two therapeutic mechanisms. The preliminary preclinical data demonstrate promising activity across body-weight reduction, appetite suppression, formulation stability, and pharmacokinetic properties, supporting the potential of ASC36_35FDC as a best-in-class therapeutic candidate.

New Research on Postpartum Depression vs. Depression: What Brain Imaging Reveals
Image File
Original HTML

New Amen Clinics research finds several distinct brain-function patterns in postpartum depression, differing significantly from those seen in major depression.

COSTA MESA, Calif., Oct. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The high-profile Lindsay Clancy case has brought renewed attention to the serious mental health challenges women can face after giving birth.

Clancy, a Massachusetts mother who killed her three young children in 2023, had sought psychiatric help and received numerous medications in the months before the tragedy. Her defense argued that she was experiencing postpartum psychosis and had not received appropriate treatment, while prosecution experts disputed this claim.

It has sparked a critical conversation about postpartum mental health care and how biology factors into psychiatric diagnosis and treatment. For example, are there functional brain differences between postpartum depression vs depression?

Now, new research from Dr. Daniel Amen and colleagues, currently in preparation for publication, is using brain SPECT imaging to more fully understand the underlying brain function patterns associated with postpartum depression (PPD). Using SPECT, the researchers examined whether women diagnosed with PPD share a common brain pattern and whether their patterns differ from those seen in depression more broadly.

Dr. Amen and colleagues reviewed brain SPECT scans from 58 women with postpartum depression and compared them with scans from 26,077 people with major depression. The scans were grouped into six brain-function patterns, including hyperfrontal/anterior cingulate cortex (ACC), limbic, hypofrontal, toxic/diffuse low perfusion, brain trauma/acquired injury, and mixed patterns.

Key Study Statistics

- Nearly 40% of women with PPD showed a hyperfrontal/ACC pattern, compared with 19.4% of those with major depression.

- Limbic patterns were also about twice as common: 24.1% in PPD versus 12% in major depression.

- Hypofrontal patterns appeared in 15.5% of PPD patients versus 6.8% in major depression.

- One of the most striking differences involved the brain trauma/acquired injury pattern: it appeared in 25.3% of the major depression group but just 1.7% of the postpartum depression group.

These new research findings from Amen Clinics reinforce an important point: The same psychiatric diagnosis can encompass different patterns of brain function. Understanding those differences may help explain why women with similar symptoms can respond differently to treatment and why a more individualized approach to care may be beneficial.

The new Amen Clinics research adds to a growing body of evidence suggesting that psychiatric diagnoses based on symptoms alone may not tell the whole story. Women with postpartum depression in the study showed several distinct patterns of brain function, and those patterns differed significantly from those seen in the much larger major depression group.

At Amen Clinics, brain SPECT imaging is not used in isolation to diagnose postpartum depression or determine treatment. It is one component of a comprehensive evaluation designed to provide clinicians with more information about the individual patient.

The emerging postpartum depression research suggests why that additional information may matter: The same symptoms and diagnostic labels can be associated with different patterns in the brain, and understanding those differences may ultimately help support more individualized care.

Mysk Luxury Hotel - the First in Saudi Arabia - is Built for Durability with Penetron Technology

The ceremonial September 2026 opening of the Mysk Al Wadi Jeddah Hotel in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia is the first Mysk luxury hotel brand location in the Kingdom. PENETRON ADMIX, a crystalline waterproofing admixture, was specified for all below-grade concrete structures to protect against high groundwater levels.

ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Saudi Arabia's most important Red Sea commercial port and main embarking point for Muslim pilgrims journeying to the holy cities of Mecca and Medina, Jeddah is a city of around 5.5 million people. Thanks to the steady influx of travelers, it continues to build new hotels, shopping centers, and other infrastructure.

The Mysk Al Wadi Jeddah Hotel is located in the Obhur district, near the Red Sea close to the Jeddah Corniche. The four-star hotel has 90 rooms on five floors. The hotel also features a restaurant, a café, meeting rooms, a kids' club, fitness center and rooftop pool.

"Due to the depth of the construction site excavation, the project's general contractor, Faraj Abdulkarim Est, needed a robust concrete waterproofing solution to keep the below-grade concrete structures dry," recounts Sam Annous, Managing Director of Penetron Saudi Arabia. "We saw the below-grade concrete structures would be exposed to the high groundwater levels at the construction site. Also, the hotel's close proximity to the Red Sea made resilience against the chloride-rich environment a priority as well."

PENETRON ADMIX, a crystalline waterproofing admixture, was added to the concrete mix to treat over 2,000 m3 (2,620 yds3) of concrete used for the hotel's raft foundation, retaining walls, parking floors, and water-retaining structures, including the drinking water tanks and swimming pool. PENEBAR SW-45A, a swellable waterstop strip, was also specified to permanently seal the construction joints.

The active ingredients in PENETRON ADMIX SB react in a catalytic reaction to the moisture in concrete to generate a non-soluble crystalline network throughout the pores and capillary tracts of the concrete. This network permanently seals the concrete against the penetration of water or liquids from any direction, even under the constant saltwater exposure prevalent at the Jeddah construction site.

"Thanks to our technical support and quick follow-up, the customer was very pleased with the support service and ultimately, the performance of the Penetron products," adds Sam Annous.

The Penetron Group is a leading manufacturer of specialty construction products for concrete waterproofing, concrete repairs, and floor preparation systems. The Group operates through a global network, offering support to the design and construction community through its regional offices, representatives, and distribution channels.

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- FF EAI Robotics Ecosystem Inc. (NASDAQ: FFR) ("FFR" or the "Company") today highlighted the participation of the FF EAI Robotics business (the "Robotics Business") at IROS 2026 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, held September 28–30, 2026. FFR has signed a non-binding term sheet to acquire the Robotics Business from Faraday Future Intelligent Electric Inc. (NASDAQ: FFAI) ("FFAI") at an estimated valuation of approximately $200 million.

IROS is one of the largest and most impactful robotics research conferences worldwide. Pittsburgh is widely recognized as "a leader in robotics research" and is a city at the forefront of robotics innovation, with a strong concentration of robotics companies, research institutions, universities and industry resources.

During the event, FF showcased multiple EAI robot products, introduced the "Built in USA" Acceleration Program, and engaged with guests and partners across the global robotics, artificial intelligence, research and industry application communities through product demonstrations, hands-on experiences and discussions. The All-New Futurist drew particular attention for its mobile operation, flexible task execution and potential applications across multiple scenarios.

For the EAI Brain and Developer Platform, developers actively discussed with the company regarding robot capability development, application scenarios, and ecosystem co-creation. At the same time, FF is actively recruiting in-house development partners.

Through the EAI Data Factory, FF also engaged with potential data partners to discuss real-world data collection, data collaboration, and the role of data in continuously improving EAI robot capabilities.

The company engaged with industry professionals regarding its four Industry Productivity Solutions, which span multiple industry applications. The Research Solution attracted interest from multiple leading research institutions and universities. Participants held in-depth discussions with FF regarding robotics research, education and teaching applications, and potential opportunities for deeper cooperation.

In addition to product and ecosystem engagement, FF advanced its talent recruitment efforts during IROS 2026, seeking professionals in robotics research and development, artificial intelligence, data, and industry solutions.

FF's participation in IROS 2026 represents an important step in advancing the EAI robotics business, expanding the Company's global industry ecosystem and accelerating implementation of its "Built in USA" strategy.

"Participating in IROS 2026 gave us the opportunity to engage directly in Pittsburgh, a city at the forefront of robotics innovation, with guests, developers, industry partners, universities and research institutions from across the field," said YT Jia, Founder and Global CEO of FF. "We will continue to recruit in-house development partners, build our talent base, accelerate implementation of our 'Built in USA' strategy and bring EAI robots into more real-world industry applications."

The Company announced earlier this week that FFAI and FFR (f/k/a AIxCrypto Holdings, Inc.) entered into a non-binding term sheet contemplating FFR's proposed acquisition of FFAI's robotics assets and businesses at an estimated market valuation of approximately $200 million, with the proposed transaction intended to advance the Robotics Business toward an independent public listing.

"All Access with Andy Garcia" to Explore the Role of Community in Aging at Mennonite Village

Upcoming segment will examine how connections and resident-led activities shape life in a senior living community.

PORTLAND, Ore., Oct. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- All Access with Andy Garcia is scheduled to film at Mennonite Village in Albany, Oregon, on October 8, 2026, for an upcoming educational segment about the importance of community as people age. The production will look at how older adults form meaningful relationships, take part in shared activities, and find support as their needs change.

At Mennonite Village, community life takes shape in ways both planned and spontaneous. Residents bring people together around their own interests, while staff offer programs and gathering spaces that make it easy to connect. The segment will explore both the everyday friendships that develop on campus and the more structured opportunities to participate in community life.

The story of Mennonite Village dates back to the organization's founding in 1947, when Lydia Stutzman's vision for caring for older adults took shape in a home for 24 residents. Today, the Albany campus offers a range of senior living and care options. As more families consider how and where to age, the segment will explore how opportunities for friendship and belonging can enrich daily life at every stage of aging.

"As we age, the importance of community becomes even more meaningful. We all need a place where we feel connected, supported, and valued. Community reminds us that we are never meant to walk through life alone. It is through our relationships, shared experiences, and care for one another that we find purpose, belonging, and joy at every stage of life." — Diane Hood, CEO of Mennonite Village.
