Niutech – Industrial Continuous Pyrolysis Project Site

PARIS, Aug. 31, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- As Europe's power grids evolve to accommodate renewable energy, electrification and rapidly growing electricity demand, CHINT, a trusted provider of integrated power and energy solutions, showcased its latest power solutions at CIGRE 2026, highlighting how advanced technologies can help utilities and energy customers modernize their grids, improve reliability and accelerate the energy transition.

CHINT presented a comprehensive portfolio spanning power transformers, medium- and high-voltage switchgear, substations, energy storage and advanced power solutions for data centers, demonstrating its capabilities in supporting customers across Europe's evolving power sector.

Power Solutions for Europe's Evolving Grid

Europe's power system is entering a new stage of transformation. The rapid integration of renewable generation, electrification across transport and industry, and the growth of digital infrastructure are creating new requirements for electricity networks. At the same time, the expansion of AI and data centers is contributing to rising and increasingly concentrated electricity demand in Europe.

For utilities and other power sector customers, these changes are driving demand for solutions that can improve grid reliability, flexibility, efficiency and environmental performance. Under Green Power Grid & High Voltage, CHINT presented 1,000 kV low-loss, low-noise oil-immersed power transformers and 750 kV natural ester oil-immersed power transformers, as well as SF₆-free MV & HV switchgear, including 24 kV, 145 kV and 420 kV SF₆-free GIS. These solutions demonstrate CHINT's focus on helping customers enhance grid performance while responding to the industry's increasing emphasis on environmental sustainability.

As Europe's power system continues to evolve, the need for flexible and rapidly deployable solutions for energy storage and renewable energy integration is growing. Against this backdrop, CHINT showcased its 13.8 MW PCS Integrated Substation at CIGRE 2026, offering a compact and integrated approach for large-scale energy storage and renewable energy applications. With a plug-and-play, turnkey design, the solution reduces on-site installation work and space requirements while supporting faster deployment and grid response. Its integrated configuration helps reduce system losses, while its oil-free design minimizes the risk of oil leakage, pollution and noise, supporting more efficient and reliable energy storage and grid applications.

CHINT also showcased cascading energy storage systems, solid-state transformers (SSTs), solid-state circuit breakers (SSCBs) and Data Center Power Pods. Together, these solutions reflect CHINT's ability to provide technologies across different stages of the power system — from high-voltage transmission and substations to distribution, storage and end-use applications.

Supporting Europe's Energy Transition with Local Expertise

Technology is only one part of successful grid modernization. Understanding local market requirements and working closely with customers throughout the project lifecycle are equally important.

CHINT has continued to strengthen its presence across Europe, combining its global technology and engineering capabilities with localized teams and service capabilities.

"As the age of AI, renewable energy and electrification reshape Europe's power landscape, customers are increasingly looking for partners that can deliver integrated, reliable and future-ready power solutions rather than standalone products," said Beibei Zheng, Vice President of CHINT Global.

"At CHINT, we see this transformation as an opportunity to drive innovation and create value for our customers. Leveraging our full-stack power value chain, we deliver integrated solutions that support more reliable, efficient and sustainable power infrastructure for the AI era. From next-generation technologies such as solid-state transformers and solid-state circuit breakers to cascading storage solutions, our focus is not only on delivering innovative products, but also on supporting customers to build resilient and future-ready infrastructure for the AI era."

During CIGRE 2026, CHINT's engineering specialists engaged with utilities, EPC contractors, consultants and technology partners to discuss applications including high-voltage transmission, substation modernization, sustainable power distribution, energy storage and power supply for data centers.

Innovation Supporting a More Flexible Power System

The modernization of Europe's grids is also driving continued innovation in power technologies. "CHINT delivers a comprehensive power supply solution for the rapidly growing data center market, anchored by integrated substation capabilities spanning from 400 kV transmission interfaces through medium-voltage distribution," said Dr. Naihu Li, Vice President of CHINT T&D and Head of the CHINT Group R&D Institute.

"These solutions are designed around modular, rapid-deployment architectures, enabling infrastructure developers to build realistic and accelerated project timelines. Battery energy storage is seamlessly integrated within these substation packages—an increasingly critical capability as grid operators contend with peak demand management and frequency response requirements. Complementing this, CHINT also offers prefabricated, module-based power supply systems purpose-built for data center application."

The rapid growth of AI and data centers is creating new requirements for power systems, accelerating the need for innovation across the power sector. As electricity demand and grid requirements continue to evolve, customers are looking for technologies that can deliver greater reliability, flexibility and scalability.

For CHINT, this underscores the importance of continuous innovation — developing advanced power solutions that are flexible, reliable and scalable, while helping customers respond to the changing demands of today's and tomorrow's power systems.

Customer Perspective: Power Solutions for a Changing Grid

As Europe's power system becomes more complex, customers are placing greater emphasis on reliability, scalability and long-term performance.

"CHINT has proven to be a reliable and capable partner in addressing the evolving requirements of the power sector," said a CHINT customer. "What stands out is CHINT's ability to bring together technology, engineering expertise and project support to deliver solutions that are both practical and scalable. This gives us confidence that we can respond not only to today's grid requirements, but also to the changing needs of the power system in the years ahead."

Georgia's Hudson waits out a win in Bassmaster Rookie of the Year race

CLAYTON, N.Y., Aug. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- On paper, Caleb Hudson's path to the 2026 Pro-Guide Batteries Elite Series Rookie of the Year title seemed smooth. The 24-year-old Georgia pro took over the lead against a heralded set of first years after the circuit's second stop and after each subsequent tournament he remained there. But it took until the season's last day — while his main competitor was fishing and he was not — to seal the deal.

Georgia pro Caleb Hudson has won the 2026 Pro-Guide Batteries Elite Series Rookie of the Year title with a season-long total of 621 points.

Hudson ended up with 621 points, outgunning Alabama's Fisher Anaya by a mere 2 points. Pake South of Texas finished a distant third with 569. The winner earned a $10,000 bonus.

The fact that Hudson was still in contention on Championship Sunday was a testament to his competitiveness and angling skill.

He entered the season-ending tournament on the St. Lawrence River leading Anaya by 12 points, but on Day 1 Anaya temporarily overtook him — sitting in 9th while Hudson languished in 54th. On Day 2, however, he jumped up to 37th, giving himself another day of fishing and another chance to retake the lead.

On the third day of competition, Hudson surged again, catching over 25 pounds of smallmouth bass for the second consecutive day. He rose up to 19th place. Anaya, however, also rose, up to 8th. That meant that Hudson would sit on the sidelines as his colleague attempted to usurp his lead. If Anaya moved up as high as 6th, he'd be the Rookie of the Year. Instead, he fell to 9th. Despite earning his first Century Belt, it was not enough and Hudson was called to the stage to accept his accolades.

"I think today has been at least 30 hours long," Hudson said. "I did this in the most stressful way possible."

While he did participate in Live today, he said he tried his best not to fixate on the race.

"I never looked at BassTrakk until the end of the day," he said. "I didn't even know who was in the Top 10 because I never pulled it up."

Onstage, he seemed mostly relieved that the race was over and that he'd come out on top. There had been stumbling blocks during the season, but he'd always been in control of his own destiny until now.

The season started out strong, with five straight checks, but then at Santee Cooper he finished 81st, followed by a 52nd at the Pasquotank. What had once been a lead of 91 points in the ROY race was whittled down to 8.

"Shallow largemouth are not my deal," he explained. "I knew there would be three tournaments this season that would be about survival for me: The Tennessee-Tombigbee, Santee Cooper and the Pasquotank. I survived one of them and then I got some tournaments back in my wheelhouse. I love smallmouth."

No one could doubt his credentials coming into the season. Despite his professed distaste for shallow largemouths, Hudson had won last year's 2025 Nitro Bassmaster Elite Qualifier at Lake Okeechobee presented by Bass Pro Shops. Nevertheless, even he could not have envisioned the season that he had.

"My goal was just not to suck," he said. "I didn't want to fall on my face."

Indeed, he did nothing of the sort, cashing seven checks in nine events. In three of the first five tournaments he made the final day group of 10. They were on three very different bodies of water: Lake Martin, a spotted bass factory; the Arkansas River, a shallow river system, and Lake Murray, an impoundment dominated by blueback herring and mostly largemouth bass.

Nevertheless, Anaya, who won at Lake Martin, the second event of the season, kept things close. He earned the same number of checks as Hudson but more Top 10s. In addition to the win, he finished 2nd at the Pasquotank, 5th at the Arkansas River and 9th this week at the St. Lawrence. While Hudson had qualified for this year's Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Classic presented by Under Armour through the EQs, Anaya earned his berth there by winning the 2025 TNT Fireworks Bassmaster Team Championship. He'd also won the overall EQ points title.

Hudson's 19th place finish this week at the St. Lawrence may not have been the best result of his rookie season, but it might be the one that satisfies him the most and that he looks back upon most fondly. After a first day where he "lost one fish after another," on Day 2 he went back to basics and started practice over.

"I fished all new water," he said. "If things don't go right and you feel like you know what to do, go do it. Even on Day 3, I was still practicing. I caught all of my fish that day on a boulder I'd found on Day 2 but didn't catch any from it when I found it. It had a lot of fish on it but I caught when I caught and then never really culled."

In addition to winning the Rookie of the Year race, Hudson finished 7th overall in the Progressive Bassmaster Angler of the Year contest. He compared his lofty company at the top with looking around the stage on one of his multiple Top 10 finishes.

"I feel almost out of place," he said. "I'm surround by guys I've looked up to for a long time."

Still, while Rookie of the Year wasn't a priority at the beginning of the season, now that he's earned the title he's set his goals higher going forward.

"I want to make a run at AOY at some point," he said. "I may have to wait for Trey (McKinney) and the Johnstons to retire to do it, but I want to try to get there."

Spaniard living with type 1 diabetes takes the climber's jersey as America's biggest one-day race returns after a decade away

PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- David Lozano (ESP) of Team Novo Nordisk, the world's first all-diabetes professional cycling team, won the King of the Mountains classification at the Philadelphia Cycling Classic, leading the day's decisive breakaway over the Manayunk Wall and Lemon Hill on the return of America's most prestigious one-day professional race. Teammate Filippo Ridolfo (ITA) finished 12th.

The Philadelphia Cycling Classic has attracted the sport's best riders since its first edition in 1985, when Olympic champion Eric Heiden won. Saturday's race was the first running since 2016, ending a ten-year hiatus. The 200-kilometer course sent the peloton over eight laps of a 23.2-km circuit before two shorter finishing loops through Fairmount Park.  It was the Manayunk Wall, a punishing climb off Main Street with pitches of 17 percent, that proved decisive.

"Racing in Philadelphia, on American roads, in front of American crowds, is exactly where this team belongs. Sixteen years ago, David was told his career was finished because he has type 1 diabetes. Today he was the best climber in America's biggest bike race. That is the whole reason this team exists," said Phil Southerland, CEO and Co-Founder, Team Novo Nordisk.

Team Novo Nordisk attacked from the gun. Sam Brand (GBR) went in the opening moves, and Quinten De Graeve (BEL) followed, and when those attempts were shut down, it was Lozano who made the split that stuck. A seven-rider group that built a lead of more than a minute and a half stayed clear for roughly five laps. Lozano was second over the first ascent of the Wall, then took maximum points on every climb that followed, leading the break over the top of the Manayunk Wall for a fifth time to secure the mountains classification before the reduced peloton finally closed the gap.

"It's really nice to be back in America for a race. Every one of us tried to be in the move today. Sam went first, then Quinten, and then it was my turn. I went for the first climb, and I was second, which was a bit of a shame. After that, I was first over all of them, the Wall and Lemon Hill," said Lozano.

Lozano was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2010 at the age of 22, at the height of a mountain bike career that had already brought him eleven national championships across mountain bike and cyclocross in Spain and a professional contract at 18. His team ended that contract after the diagnosis. Determined to keep racing, he contacted Southerland directly and joined Team Novo Nordisk, where the 37-year-old is now in his 14th season.

"There are not many races left this season, but a day like this gives all the guys motivation. That is what matters."

Tim Torn Teutenberg (Lidl-Trek) took the win from a late breakaway in 4:20:55, ahead of Robert Donaldson (Jayco-AlUla) and Jonas Rutsch (Lotto-Intermarché). Ridolfo was Team Novo Nordisk's top finisher in 12th.

"Every person who has been diagnosed and watched the race today saw a man with type 1 diabetes on the podium with the best bike racers in the world. This continues to prove what is possible with diabetes," concluded Southerland.

CLAYTON, N.Y., Aug. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Evan Kung entered this week's Lowrance Bassmaster Elite at the St. Lawrence River in danger of losing his spot on the Progressive Bassmaster Elite Series for 2027. Not only did he save his spot on tour, the Canadian went ahead and won his first B.A.S.S. trophy, breaking records as he did it.

Canadian pro Evan Kung has won the 2026 Lowrance Bassmaster Elite at St. Lawrence River with a four-day total of 109 pounds, 9 ounces and officially qualified for the 2027 Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Classic presented by Under Armour.

Kung blasted a four-day total of 109 pounds, 9 ounces to claim his first blue trophy, the heaviest winning weight consisting of all smallmouth in Bassmaster history, overtaking Patrick Walters 105-pound winning total at the St. Lawrence River in 2023. He also became a member of the Bassmaster Century Club for the first time.

The victory also qualifies Kung for the 2027 Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Classic presented by Bass Pro Shops next March.

"This is by far my biggest win," Kung said. "It was a tough year for me, so it was great to end it like this. I couldn't think of a better ending."

The second-year pro was in contention all week, opening the tournament in fourth place with a limit weighing 26-9 before jumping to second place on Day 2 with 28-9. He maintained second by landing 26-11 on Semifinal Saturday before taking the top spot with a sack weighing 27-12, a limit anchored by a 6-13 smallie that earned Phoenix Boats Big Bass of the Day honors.

Trey McKinney, who led the first three days, finished second with 107-9 while Tucker Smith finished third with 107-1. Nine of the 10 anglers who fished on Championship Sunday earned Century Belts while all 10 anglers caught more than 21 pounds.

Entering the final event of the season in 72nd place, Kung knew he needed to have a good finish to maintain his Elite Series standing. So, each day of the tournament, he focused on catching what he felt was enough to stay above 70th in points before going to his big bass areas.

"Every day I went out knowing I needed a certain amount to stay in the Elites," Kung said. "So, I did that and then looked for big ones. I worked out. I knew I could have swung for the fences the whole time, but I might not have caught them."

That strategy paid off but unfolded in different ways each day. On Day 1, when the wind and waves were at their roughest, Kung stayed in the river to land his limit. The next two days, Lake Ontario proved to be the more productive region while the St. Lawrence River produced his limit on the final day.

Whether he was in the river or out on the lake, Kung targeted smallmouth in 20 to 40 feet of water around rock structure and cover. In the SLR, current breaks and big boulders held quality bass as well as flats with grass flats where smallies would roam. In Ontario, big boulders and humps were the targets.

"There were some fish roaming between the boulders," Kung said. "A lot of people like to go boulder to boulder, but I like to fish in between. When they get pressured, they will pull off and roam. I caught a bunch of those fish."

A Great Lakes Finesse Vibra Bug, a prototype lure, rigged on a 1/2- or 3/4-ounce drop shot with a BKK No. 2 drop-shot hook designed by Cory Johnston caught 90 percent of his smallmouth this week. He tossed the drop shot on a 724 Douglas X Matrix Series spinning rod paired with a 3000 Daiwa Exist reel spooled with 10-pound XBraid mainline and an 8-pound XBraid fluorocarbon leader.

On Sunday, wind and rain greeted anglers, which made the bite tougher than Kung expected. He started in the St. Lawrence River on a spot he felt could produce 18 pounds, enough to break the 100-pound mark. He ended up catching 22 pounds before moving to other areas in the river.

After a lull, Kung stopped at a spot he hadn't fished yet this week and landed a 5-pounder and a 5 3/4-pounder to increase his limit to 25 pounds. He then spent three hours in Lake Ontario without an upgrade before returning to that same spot and landing the 6-13.

"That was the difference in this one," Kung said. "I thought I would have a chance then. If (Trey) had beat me, I wouldn't have been upset."

McKinney may have fallen short of his third Elite Series win, but had an epic week nonetheless. The Carbondale, Ill., pro put the finishing touches on his first Angler of the Year title, becoming the youngest to ever hoist the trophy at 21 years old.

On Day 2 of the tournament, he also set the mark for the heaviest single-day limit in B.A.S.S. history, a mega-bag weighing 30-11.

"It was an unbelievable week," McKinney said. "I broke the record for heaviest bag, which I never would have thought would happen."

While he had other spots to check, one big point at the mouth of Lake Ontario served as McKinney's home base this week. Most of the bottom was sand, but McKinney located subtle rock veins in 20 to 50 feet of water where smallmouth could hide and feed throughout the day.

A drop shot rigged with a bug-style soft plastic was his best producing bait most of the week. He switched between a 1/2-ounce or a 3/4-ounce 6th Sense tungsten drop shot weight depending on depth and wave height. On Day 2, a 5-inch minnow bait caught four of his 6-pounders.

With bags of 27-5, 24-12, 25-14 and 29-2, Alabama's Tucker Smith finished third with 107-1. The 2025 reigning Rookie of the Year ventured out to Lake Ontario every day and targeted humps, points and boulders located near major spawning areas.

"They were actually schooling up in those places," Smith said. "They were very tough to catch, but if you worked your bait perfectly you could get a couple of them to bite."

A Yamamoto Dagger Minnow rigged on a either a 3/8-ounce or 1/4-ounce jighead produced many of his bites.

Cole Sands earned $3,000 for catching the Phoenix Boats Big Bass of the Tournament, a 7-6 he landed on Day 3. Steve Kennedy and Kyle Welcher earned $500 each for Phoenix Boats Big Bass of Day 1 while Bryant Smith and Kung earned $1,000 each for Big Bass of Days 2 and 4.

McKinney earned $2,000 for catching the Rapala CrushCity Monster Bag of the Tournament.

Easton Fothergill won the $4,000 Toyota Bonus Bucks award for the highest-placing eligible angler. Stetson Blaylock won the $3,000 second-place bonus.

Sands won the $2,500 Yamaha Power-Pay contingency award for being the highest-placing eligible angler. Brandon Cobb took home $1,500 for being the second-highest eligible anlger.

McKinney won Progressive Bassmaster Angler of the Year with 735 points. Cory Johnston wrapped up the year with 731 points followed by Georgia's Drew Cook in third with 674 points. Tennessee's Cole Sands was fourth place with 657 points; South Carolina's Brandon Cobb finished fifth (656); Tennessee's John Garrett finishes sixth (629); Georgia's Caleb Hudson finished seventh (621); Alabama's Fisher Anaya finished eighth (619); Georgia's Paul Marks finished ninth (618) and Alabama's Andrew Loberg finished 10th (617).

Georgia's Caleb Hudson won the Pro-Guide Batteries Elite Series Rookie of the Year with 621 points. Alabama's Fisher Anaya finished second with 619 followed by Texas pro Pake South in third with 569 points, Tennessee's Sam Hanggi in fourth 448 points and Tristan McCormick in fifth with 447 points.

The 2026 Lowrance Bassmaster Elite at St. Lawrence River was hosted by the 1000 Islands Clayton Chamber of Commerce.

AI Expands Across Industries as Technology Drives Industrial Upgrading in Central and Southern Taiwan

TAIPEI, Aug. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- On August 28, the Department of Industrial Technology (DoIT), Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), unveiled 31 innovative technologies at the "2026 Meet Greater South" event, under the theme "Meet Your BEST Solution: Connecting Local Businesses with Tech Solutions." The showcase was presented in collaboration with startups and research institutions including the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), the Metal Industries Research & Development Centre (MIRDC), the Institute for Information Industry (III), and the Food Industry Research and Development Institute (FIRDI).

Officials and representatives from the Industrial Development Bureau posed for a photo at the '2026 Meet Greater South' event, showcasing 31 innovative technologies.

This year's pavilion highlights two key areas. The first echoes the theme of "AI Across Industries," extending AI beyond high-tech manufacturing into fields such as architecture and construction, water quality monitoring, and food production. The second area, "Industrial Upgrading," focuses on advancing industries in central and southern Taiwan through cutting-edge manufacturing processes and innovative technologies that boost both production efficiency and product quality. A number of these innovations have already been licensed to industry partners, helping companies including Ability opto-Electronics Technology, Li Xiang Machinery, HIWIN Technologies, and TBI Motion Technology secure orders from major international clients. These results demonstrate the tangible benefits of linking technology R&D with industry needs and helping companies expand into global markets.

AI-Optimized Metalens Imaging Breaks Into Global Supply Chains

In line with the government's "AI Across Industries" policy, DoIT's pavilion features a range of AI applications, demonstrating how artificial intelligence is being put to work across different sectors. One example is AI-optimized laptop camera lens imaging technology that enables a thinner lens while maintaining sharp image quality. ITRI's Ultra-thin Structure NanoOptics Chip Technology for Visual Sensing Applications uses a monolithic metalens to overcome the bulkiness of traditional multi-element lenses. Combining semiconductor manufacturing processes with AI to enhance image clarity, the technology reduces lens thickness from the conventional 2.3–3mm down to just 1.3mm. It has already been adopted by Ability opto-Electronics Technology, a leading laptop lens manufacturer, which has integrated the technology into facial-recognition login modules for ultra-thin laptops. The solution has also been adopted by a major U.S. laptop brand. Looking ahead, the technology is expected to expand into visible-light and thermal-infrared imaging applications.

AI Reads Clam Shell Movements to Safeguard Water Quality for Over 2 Million People

AI is also being applied to water quality monitoring, turning clams into biological sentinels for water systems serving more than 2 million people. The Digital Twin Technology for Bio-Water Quality Sensing, developed by III, addresses the high cost traditionally associated with deploying multiple types of water quality sensors. The technology uses freshwater clams as biological sensors, taking advantage of their relatively stable behavioral responses. Cameras non-invasively monitor the clams' shell movements, while AI analyzes subtle behavioral cues, opening-and-closing patterns, and abnormal group behavior to detect water quality changes in real time. The technology is already deployed at the Bansin Water Treatment Plant, the Sanxia River Pumping Station, and the Shoufeng Water Treatment Plant, which together serve more than 2 million people. It has also been licensed to KETECH Scientific Instrument, extending its use to water quality monitoring for critical processes in high-tech industries such as semiconductors, printed circuit boards, and precision machining.

Through the exhibition, DoIT aims to accelerate the adoption of more innovative technologies and bring new momentum into industrial upgrading across central and southern Taiwan.

McKinney makes history … again … becoming the youngest AOY winner in B.A.S.S. history

CLAYTON, N.Y., Aug. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Trey McKinney has finally defeated the Johnstons.

Thanks to a second-place finish in a heavy-weight battle at the Lowrance Bassmaster Elite at the St. Lawrence River, the third-year pro from Carbondale, Ill., claimed his first Progressive Bassmaster Angler of the Year title, earning 735 points over the nine-event season to outlast Canadian Cory Johnston and become the youngest angler ever to win the prestigious trophy.

Illinois pro Trey McKinney has won the 2026 Progressive Bassmaster Angler of the Year title with a season-long total of 735 points.

The previous owner of that title: Kevin VanDam, who was 24 when he won his first AOY in 1992.

"This feels unbelievable," McKinney said. "When I caught the 6-pounder later in the day, I knew that bass had won me $100,000 and Angler of the Year, something I have dreamed of all of my life. I choked trying to win it for the last two years and have been so close. Then I immediately thought about trying to win the tournament.

"It was a grinder year for sure. I was up, down, sideways, behind, ahead. I respect Cory so much. He caught them so many times when I didn't."

With the $100,000 check, McKinney now has over $900 thousand in career earnings. He is on pace to become one of the greatest tournament anglers ever, but for McKinney, his next bite is still the most important.

"I know one thing, I'm never going to stop working hard at it," he said. "When they quit biting is when I quit catching. So, if they are biting, I'm going to catch as many as I can and win as much as I can."

Each of his first two seasons as a Progressive Bassmaster Elite Series pro, McKinney finished second to Chris Johnston, Cory's younger brother, and for a moment in time it seemed like the older brother might take another title away from the 21-year-old phenom. But on Johnston's home waters, and only two points separating the two entering the event, McKinney rose to the occasion.

Breaking records in the process, McKinney earned his second Century Belt and overcame a slow final morning to land a 6-pounder late in the day and put the finishing touches on the season.

After suffering another disappointing defeat in 2025, and a switch in format to a split forward facing and non-FFS schedule, McKinney opened the season by clinching a ninth-place finish at Lake Guntersville, a non-FFS event. From there, he notched a 20th at Lake Martin, 15th at the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway, 10th at the Arkansas River and then 5th at Lake Murray.

"You never really know the Lord's plan, but I think it was a blessing to win it in the new format," McKinney said. "There's really not much anyone can say ever again."

He had built a substantial lead over the field in the AOY race, and it looked like it would be smooth sailing to the title. Then he arrived at Santee Cooper. Hampered by a bad practice and boat problems, McKinney finished 90th in the South Carolina Lowcountry, allowing Cory to take the AOY lead.

The Pasquotank River looked equally as dim midway through Day 1, but McKinney managed to wrangle 14-2 to finish the day in 34th, sparking a rally that helped him reclaim the AOY lead with an 11th place finish.

"Once I put myself back in it at Pasquotank, I knew I would be okay," McKinney said. "For once in my life, I played it safe and it worked out. Usually when I play it safe, I will just catch an average bag. I decided to stay in the Pasquotank, and I made do with what I had."

A 21st place finish at Lake Champlain made the race tighter than he had hoped, but he entered the St. Lawrence River with the mindset that he needed to win and nearly pulled that off too.

As perfect as the first three days were, the final day did not go how he planned, but one catch turned the day around.

"I could have eaten a bullet today. I was so nervous," McKinney said. I was shaking all day. I wasn't catching the right bass to start the day. I was breaking fish off. Then I started getting some bites and had all 4 1/2's. Then I caught a 6, and that was the bass that made the difference. I was about to leave, then something told me to go a little further. So I did, and I saw the rock structure she was behind.

"If I wouldn't have made a few right moves, this could have gone a whole lot differently."

Johnston wrapped up the year with 731 points and a $50,000 bonus followed by Georgia's Drew Cook in third with 674 points, who earned a $25,000 check. Tennessee's Cole Sands was fourth place with 657 points; South Carolina's Brandon Cobb finished fifth (656); Tennessee's John Garrett finishes sixth (629); Georgia's Caleb Hudson finished seventh (621); Alabama's Fisher Anaya finished eighth (619); Georgia's Paul Marks finished ninth (618) and Alabama's Andrew Loberg finished 10th (617).

3. Liga & Frauen-Bundesliga komplett live bei MagentaSport: Kölns Otto erledigt Münster fast allein

Niederlage nach 2:0-Führung! Schalke Leihgabe Guiddirs schockt Mannheim: "Er braucht viel Liebe!"

München (ots)

Hier musste intrinsisch was dazukommen.

Was hätte man verhindern können?

Jeder weiß, was er tun muss. Da muss man Verantwortung übernehmen.

Man weiß nie, was alles noch geht.

TULSA, Okla., Aug. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- ONEOK, Inc. (NYSE: OKE) today announced that it has executed a definitive agreement to acquire Brazos Midstream's Permian Midland Basin natural gas gathering and processing assets for total cash consideration of $4.425 billion. The acquisition will be funded through a $9 billion nonvoting minority equity investment from funds and affiliates managed by Apollo (NYSE: APO) (Apollo). ONEOK intends to use $5 billion of proceeds from the equity investment to reduce ONEOK's existing indebtedness.

"This transaction demonstrates ONEOK's strategy of intentionally expanding and extending our integrated energy infrastructure," said Pierce H. Norton II, ONEOK president and CEO. "These assets add a premier Permian Midland Basin platform supported by long-term contracts and attractive growth opportunities.

"The acquisition expands our scale in the Permian Midland Basin, advances our integrated wellhead-to-water strategy and strengthens connectivity across our natural gas and NGL value chain, positioning ONEOK to capture significant volume growth in one of the most economic and rapidly growing resource plays," added Norton. "The combination of this acquisition with the minority equity investment demonstrates our commitment to creating shareholder value while accelerating our deleveraging to 3.25 times debt-to-EBITDA, further enhancing our balance sheet."

"ONEOK has built one of the largest and most diversified midstream platforms in the country, providing essential services and infrastructure to help meet rapidly expanding domestic and international energy demand," said Apollo Partner Jamshid Ehsani. "This transaction reflects Apollo's ability to deliver flexible, high-grade capital solutions at scale, structured around ONEOK's long-term strategic objectives."

STRATEGIC OVERVIEW

The acquisition will be funded through a $9 billion nonvoting minority equity investment in ONEOK's existing business. The investment carries an internal rate of return (IRR) that is capped at 7.0% for the first nine years of the investment, which is lower than ONEOK's cost of publicly traded equity. Distributions in excess of the capped IRR will reduce the minority equity capital balance over time, which increases the economic value attributable to ONEOK common shareholders.

In addition to funding the acquisition, ONEOK intends to extinguish approximately $5 billion of existing indebtedness, immediately reducing expected pro forma 2027 leverage to approximately 3.25 times debt-to-EBITDA. The debt extinguishment plan will include repayments, make-whole calls and a tender offer for senior notes (most of the targeted senior notes are currently trading below par).

These steps will accelerate ONEOK's deleveraging timeline and will more than achieve the company's previous target leverage without issuing common equity while supporting a growing backlog of organic growth opportunities, particularly in the Permian Basin, as well as other business segments.

The acquisition increases momentum toward the high end of ONEOK's mid- to high-single-digit adjusted EBITDA growth target over the next five to seven years and accelerates ONEOK's flexibility to increase capital returns to shareholders, including through potential dividend increases and share buybacks.

PREMIER PERMIAN MIDLAND BASIN PLATFORM

The transaction implies a multiple of approximately 7.5 times estimated 2027 EBITDA, inclusive of approximately $80 million of full-year synergies, and approximately 6.0 times estimated 2028 EBITDA, reflecting the expected significant growth of the Brazos platform, as well as additional commercial and operational synergies expected to be realized through further integration with ONEOK's existing Permian Basin assets. The combined ONEOK and Brazos systems are also expected to generate additional capital efficiencies as capacity is optimized across the platform. The acquisition is expected to be immediately accretive to earnings and free cash flow per share, supported by substantial contracted growth across Brazos' dedicated acreage.

The acquisition strengthens ONEOK's integrated Permian-to-Gulf Coast strategy by:

Expanding scale in the rapidly growing Permian Midland Basin.

Adding long-term, fee-based contracted growth with leading Permian producers.

Enhancing connectivity across the natural gas and NGL value chain.

Optimizing commercial and capital savings opportunities.

Delivering immediate accretion to earnings and free cash flow per share.

The acquired Brazos Midland assets create a scaled, integrated Permian Midland Basin platform that strengthens ONEOK's position in one of the most active and economic producing regions in North America. Supported by approximately 600,000 dedicated acres under long-term fixed-fee contracts with a weighted average remaining term of more than 12 years, the system provides substantial visibility to future volume growth and is currently supported by 14 active drilling rigs from leading Permian producers including ExxonMobil, Diamondback Energy and Double Eagle.

Following completion of the Cassidy II processing plant expected in the third quarter of 2027, the Brazos Midland system will include approximately 700 miles of gathering infrastructure and 1.2 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) of processing capacity across seven core Permian Midland Basin counties. Through the acquisition, ONEOK also obtains a Permian Midland Basin-wide area of mutual interest (AMI) with a key private producer, creating additional opportunities to capture future growth.

The Brazos Midland assets are highly complementary to ONEOK's existing Permian Midland Basin natural gas gathering and processing, NGL transportation and crude oil infrastructure. The acquisition more than doubles ONEOK's Midland Basin processing capacity to approximately 2.3 Bcf/d, including plants currently under construction, and establishes one of the Permian Midland Basin's largest integrated natural gas gathering and processing platforms.

The combination expands ONEOK's ability to capture volume growth across the value chain while optimizing capital deployment and utilizing existing downstream infrastructure, including the company's West Texas NGL Pipeline and soon-to-be-completed Medford NGL fractionation facility. By integrating commercial, operational and capital activities across the combined footprint, ONEOK expects to achieve significant recurring synergies over the long term, further reducing the effective acquisition multiple over time to be in line with ONEOK's historical organic build multiples.

MINORITY EQUITY INVESTMENT

Further strengthening its financial position, ONEOK has entered into an agreement with Apollo and affiliates for a $9 billion minority equity investment.

Minority equity investment highlights:

Return capped at a 7.0% IRR for the first nine years of the investment with value creation above the capped return rate accruing to ONEOK common shareholders.

Investor's capital account balance is expected to substantially decline over time through cash distributions that vary with cash flow from operations.

Income attributable to the noncontrolling interest (NCI) is expected to tie closely to the 7.0% capped IRR multiplied by the investor's then outstanding capital account balance.

No liquidation preference and is structurally subordinate to all existing ONEOK senior debt.

Provides ONEOK the option to acquire any remaining minority interest beginning eight years after closing or earlier if investor capital account balance declines to $200 million prior to that date.

No Hypothetical Liquidation at Book Value (HLBV) accounting treatment necessary for this structure.

Under the terms of the agreement, Apollo will invest $9 billion in exchange for a Class B interest in a newly formed holding company, ONEOK Holdings, L.L.C. (HoldCo), which is structurally subordinate to the company's debt. The Class B interest is expected to receive 15% of quarterly cash flow from ONEOK, L.L.C. (OpCo) operations. Because those distributions are expected to exceed the Class B capped return of 7.0% IRR, the Class B capital account balance is expected to substantially decline over time. There are no penalties if the quarterly distribution is below the capped return. ONEOK has the option each quarter to accelerate the Class B investor capital paydown by electing to distribute up to 20% of quarterly cash flow from OpCo's operations to the Class B interest, subject to certain conditions. The Class B interest carries limited consent rights related to HoldCo, has no board representation or liquidation preference, and is subordinate to all ONEOK senior debt. All distributions paid to HoldCo are at the discretion of the OpCo board.

The total minority equity investor return is capped at a 7.0% IRR for the first nine years of the investment. The target IRR on the then-current capital account balance steps to 7.35% in year 10 and increases to a final cap of 7.85% in year 15. All value creation above the capped IRR, including growth from the Brazos Midland acquisition, ONEOK's existing portfolio and future initiatives, accrues to ONEOK common shareholders.

Beginning on the eighth anniversary of closing, or earlier if the Class B capital account balance reaches $200 million prior to that date, ONEOK may acquire the remaining Class B interest at a price reflecting the same 7.0% IRR, which is fixed until the ninth anniversary of closing. By that time, the remaining balance is expected to be substantially below the initial investment. In years 10 through 15, the Class B interest may be acquired at a value to achieve the then current target IRR applied to the remaining Class B capital account balance at that time.

The investment has been reviewed with ONEOK's credit rating agencies, all of which consider the transaction as credit-enhancing, and ONEOK expects to receive full equity credit. Under Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), the investment will be reported on the balance sheet as a noncontrolling interest (NCI) within permanent equity. On the income statement, approximately 7.0% (1.75% on a quarterly basis) of the investment's remaining capital balance will be subtracted from net income to arrive at net income attributed to ONEOK. The remainder of the Class B payment above NCI will reduce capital balance quarterly and the next quarter's income available for common shareholders will increase in an amount approximately equal to the previous quarter's reduction in capital account multiplied by the capped return divided by four and adjusted for the effective tax rate.

TRANSACTION TIMING

The Brazos Midland acquisition is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026 and has been unanimously approved by ONEOK's Board of Directors. The closing of the transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including Hart-Scott-Rodino Act clearance.

The minority equity investment has been unanimously approved by ONEOK's Board of Directors and is expected to close in the first half of September, subject to customary closing conditions.

As part of these strategic transactions, ONEOK intends to extinguish $5 billion of outstanding debt, including commencing a cash tender offer for certain of its outstanding debt securities. In addition, ONEOK will repay, at or shortly following closing of the minority equity investment, its $1.2 billion term loan and will exercise make-whole calls on certain series of senior notes.
