Allegheny Health Network Launches New National CRNA Recruiting Campaign, $110,000 Student Loan Repayment Program, to Strengthen Western Pennsylvania's Certified Nurse Anesthetist Workforce

The loan repayment program — created in collaboration with Clasp, a national leader in retention-driven healthcare recruiting — positions AHN as an employer of choice for early-career CRNA talent

PITTSBURGH, Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Allegheny Health Network (AHN) today announced the launch of a new national recruitment and loan repayment program designed to strengthen the pipeline of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) in Western Pennsylvania.

The workforce investment campaign aims to address the ongoing regional and national shortages in CRNAs by reducing financial barriers to education and attracting early-career CRNA talent. A CRNA is an advanced practice registered nurse who specializes in administering anesthesia and monitoring patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.

Without an adequate supply of CRNAs, health systems have trouble meeting patient access demands for surgical procedures, especially elective procedures. Operating rooms face delayed starts and extended turnaround times, and CRNAs themselves experience higher burnout rates.

Through a new collaboration with Clasp, a national leader in retention-driven healthcare recruiting, AHN will provide employer-sponsored student loan repayment for qualified nurse anesthesia students who commit to joining the organization full-time as a CRNA after graduation.

The collaboration with Clasp allows AHN to reach a much broader, national population of CRNA candidates.

Clasp, based in Boston, connects employers to healthcare students through its national retention-driven recruitment platform. By enabling health care systems to sponsor loan repayment tied to early job commitments, Clasp helps employers to secure job commitments while students are still in school, and gives students and early-career professionals access to guaranteed debt relief, deferring loan repayment until after they hit retention milestones.

AHN is Clasp's first Pennsylvania collaborator.

How it works for students:

- Employer Matching: Students apply through Clasp and match with participating hospitals or health networks (such as AHN) that need nurse anesthetists.

- Work Commitment: Students agree to a multi-year employment term with AHN, in exchange for a debt repayment commitment.

- Direct Payments: Once the student begins full-time employment, AHN makes regular monthly payments directly to the federal or private student loan servicer, through the Clasp platform.

- No Claw-backs: Employees keep every dollar contributed by the employer toward principal balance.

Loan repayment is distributed over the employee's first three years of employment through the Clasp platform.¹

The launch comes as healthcare organizations nationwide continue to face significant shortages of CRNAs and other advanced practice clinicians, with hospitals competing aggressively for a limited pool of hard-to-hire talent. By investing in future CRNAs before they enter the workforce, AHN is taking a proactive approach to building a strong talent pipeline while helping nurse anesthesia students transition from school into high-impact clinical careers.

"Healthcare systems across the country are exploring innovative ways to recruit and retain talented clinical professionals, and anesthesia is clearly a priority for most organizations," said Stacy Kittridge, VP, Human Resources Highmark and AHN. "Working with Clasp gives us the opportunity to engage CRNA students earlier in their training, help ease one of the biggest financial barriers of pursuing this career path, and build lasting relationships with clinicians who will be critical to AHN's future workforce."

Eligible CRNA students who are within two years of graduation may apply to the program, receive an employment commitment prior to graduation, and begin receiving student loan repayment once they join AHN full-time.

"Healthcare organizations are rethinking how they attract and retain hard-to-hire clinical talent in an increasingly competitive labor market," said Tess Michaels, CEO & Founder of Clasp. "Allegheny Health Network is leading the way by investing in nurse anesthesia students before they graduate, creating a pathway that helps reduce student debt while building a stronger, more resilient CRNA workforce for Western Pennsylvania."

The initiative supports AHN's broader workforce strategy focused on talent attraction, retention, pipeline development, and expanding access to meaningful healthcare careers throughout the region.

Nurse anesthesia students interested in launching their careers with Allegheny Health Network are encouraged to visit careers.ahn.org or learn more about the program at clasp.com/alleghenyhealthnetwork.

Rutika Mehta, MD, MPH, Joins NYU Langone's Perlmutter Cancer Center to Expand Upper GI Cancer Care and Research
Image File
Original HTML

NEW YORK, Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Rutika Mehta, MD, MPH, a nationally recognized gastrointestinal (GI) medical oncologist, has joined NYU Langone Health's Perlmutter Cancer Center as director of upper GI medical oncology, further expanding the center's clinical and research programs for patients with upper GI cancers, including cancers of the esophagus and stomach.

Dr. Mehta is widely recognized for building multidisciplinary care programs and innovative clinical trials for upper GI cancers. Her research focuses on personalizing cancer treatment through molecular profiling, or detailed testing of a tumor's biology, and blood tests such as circulating tumor DNA tests, helping guide patients to the therapies most likely to benefit them.

Her arrival marks an important step in the continued growth of Perlmutter Cancer Center's Gastrointestinal Cancer Center, which brings together specialists in medical oncology, surgery, radiation oncology, gastroenterology, pathology, radiology, nutrition, and supportive care to deliver coordinated, personalized treatment. In her new role, Dr. Mehta will work closely with Noah A. Cohen, MD, section chief of complex GI surgical oncology, to further strengthen multidisciplinary care and expand clinical research opportunities.

"Dr. Mehta is an outstanding addition to Perlmutter Cancer Center at an important time in the growth of our GI Cancer Center," said Manuel Hidalgo Medina, MD, co-director of the GI Cancer Center. "Her expertise in upper GI cancers, commitment to multidisciplinary care, and extensive experience developing clinical trials will strengthen our ability to provide patients with access to innovative treatments while advancing research to improve outcomes."

Dr. Mehta treats patients with a wide range of GI cancers, specializing in cancers of the esophagus, stomach, and gastroesophageal junction—where the esophagus meets the stomach. Because these cancers often require a complex combination of treatments, she emphasizes a team-based approach that tailors care to each patient's needs and goals.

"Patients with esophageal and gastric cancers need a team that brings together the best science, the right expertise, and a clear understanding of what matters most to them," said Dr. Mehta. "I am excited to join NYU Langone and build on the growth of the GI Cancer Center by expanding personalized, biomarker-driven care and access to clinical trials, while ensuring that patients and their families feel informed and supported throughout their care."

At Perlmutter Cancer Center, Dr. Mehta will continue to expand the clinical trials available to patients with upper GI cancers, including investigator-initiated studies and trials evaluating new targeted and biomarker-driven therapies. She also serves on the National Cancer Institute's Upper GI Task Force, which helps shape national clinical research strategies for upper GI cancers.

About Dr. Mehta

Dr. Mehta joined NYU Langone from Weill Cornell Medicine, where she established an Upper GI Working Group to advance clinical and research collaboration. Previously, at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida, she helped build its Upper GI Malignancies Program and developed a robust clinical trials portfolio that gave patients access to new treatment options.

Her research has included clinical trials evaluating targeted therapies, immunotherapies, antibody-drug conjugates, and cellular therapies for GI cancers. She has particular expertise in HER2-positive gastroesophageal cancers and participated in the clinical development of zanidatamab, a HER2-targeted therapy. Her work also explores circulating tumor DNA and comprehensive molecular profiling to better understand treatment response, recurrence, and resistance.

In addition to her clinical and research leadership, Dr. Mehta is active in patient education and advocacy. She works closely with patient advocacy organizations, including Debbie's Dream Foundation and Hope for Stomach Cancer, participating in patient support groups, educational programs, and community events focused on GI cancers.

SWCA Launches Regulatory Radar to Help Project Teams Anticipate Environmental Regulatory Change

PHOENIX, Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- SWCA Environmental Consultants has launched SWCA's Regulatory Radar, a subscription-based regulatory intelligence platform that helps project teams anticipate and adapt to environmental regulatory changes before they affect budgets, reviews, permitting timelines and compliance obligations.

The regulatory environment for infrastructure, energy and development projects is moving quickly, leaving many teams to track dense policy changes while also managing active projects. Regulatory Radar helps organizations understand what changed, why it matters and what actions they should consider before a regulatory shift appears as a surprise in a comment letter, permit condition, inspection finding or project delay.

"Regulatory changes can create uncertainty for organizations responsible for complex projects," said Infrastructure Policy and Permitting Strategy Director Ross Pilotte at SWCA. "Regulatory Radar helps teams move from reaction to readiness by connecting policy developments with the practical context they need to make better project decisions."

Powered by SWCA's regulatory and technical leaders, Regulatory Radar combines policy insight with real-world experience across permitting, environmental review, compliance requirements and project delivery. Each insight includes the SWCA Lens, where SWCA advisors explain how a regulatory development may play out in practice, what they are seeing across projects and which issues may deserve closer attention.

Unlike industry newsletters that summarize what changed or legal alerts that explain what a rule requires, Regulatory Radar connects regulatory developments to the operational decisions clients face every day. It brings the value of sitting across the table from an SWCA advisor and asking, "What could this mean for my project?"

Regulatory Radar currently supports audiences focused on power and energy, infrastructure and construction compliance. Subscribers receive portal access and targeted alerts when regulatory developments may affect inspections, permits, schedules, budgets or compliance obligations. In a world of noise, Regulatory Radar provides the steady guidance project teams can use to navigate change with confidence.

Subscriptions are available for students, individuals and enterprise accounts, giving subscribers access to timely regulatory insights and project-centered guidance as new developments take shape.

Boiron Celebrates Grand Opening of New Logistics Center

Ribbon-cutting event brings the community together to celebrate a milestone in the company's U.S. growth

NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa., Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Boiron, the world leader in homeopathic medicines, celebrated the grand opening of its new 78,898-square-foot logistics center with a ribbon-cutting and community celebration on Sept. 16. More than 200 guests, including local elected officials, business partners and employees, attended the event to mark the significant milestone.

Guests enjoyed a festive atmosphere that featured elevated food and drinks, photo opportunities and guided tours of the new facility. A wildflower bouquet-building booth added a hands-on, community-focused touch, giving attendees a memorable way to take a piece of the celebration home with them.

Located approximately 1 mile from Boiron's U.S. headquarters, this state-of-the-art, temperature-controlled facility consolidates operations previously housed in two nearby warehouses. It features energy-efficient mechanical systems, 24-hour surveillance, large windows that provide natural light and four electric vehicle charging stations for employees to use. A team of 28 employees, including eight new hires, operates the center. The centralized operation increases storage capacity, streamlines inventory management and product distribution, and strengthens workplace safety.

"This center is new, but our purpose is not. We are, and will always be, a company devoted to homeopathy and natural approaches to health," said Janick Boudazin, CEO of Boiron USA. "More than 300 million people around the world put their trust in homeopathy, and by extension, in us. That trust is something we earn — one customer, one conversation, one order at a time."

Local officials joined the celebration to recognize Boiron's continued investment in the community, reflected in its environmental impact, job creation and long-term commitment to the township. "This is about more than a ribbon cutting. It's about recognizing a company that has invested in our community, believed in our future and chosen to grow right here in Newtown Township. For more than 30 years, Boiron has called Newtown Square home," said Leonard B. Altieri III, Esq., chairman of the Newtown Township Board of Supervisors. "Millions of Americans know the Boiron name because of the company's commitment to quality, wellness and innovation. The new logistics center opening represents a significant investment in both the future of Boiron and the future of Newtown Township."

The event underscored Boiron's deep ties to Newtown Square and its continued commitment to growth, sustainability and operational excellence in the region and across the nation.

Tired of Wearing a Gaming Headset for Hours? COLOLIGHT CHIMERA Offers a Different Way to Hear the Game

Tired of Wearing a Gaming Headset for Hours? COLOLIGHT CHIMERA Offers a Different Way to Hear the Game

Launching September 22 on Kickstarter, CHIMERA reimagines gaming audio without anything worn on your head or over your ears.

NEW YORK and LOS ANGELES, Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- For many gamers, the longer a gaming session lasts, the more noticeable the headset becomes.

Headband pressure, warm earcups, and the feeling of having something clamped around the head can become distracting after hours of play. COLOLIGHT is taking a different approach with CHIMERA, a chair-mounted open-ear gaming headset launching on Kickstarter on September 22.

Instead of placing speakers directly over the ears, CHIMERA mounts onto the player's gaming chair, positioning its acoustic units around the listener to create a personal open-ear listening zone.

The idea is straightforward: retain the detail and positional information gamers expect from headphones while introducing the more open, spacious character typically associated with speakers — without requiring anything to be worn on the head.

Headset Precision, With a More Open Listening Experience

CHIMERA is built around an open acoustic system featuring a dedicated low-frequency driver and a nine-driver mid/high-frequency array.

The system is designed to deliver impactful bass, detailed mids and highs, and a spacious soundstage across gaming, movies, music, and everyday desktop entertainment.

For competitive gaming, CHIMERA uses a dedicated 2.4 GHz wireless connection with latency as low as 19 ms. Its desktop software also includes game-focused EQ profiles, including FPS presets designed to emphasize important audio cues such as footsteps, reloads, gunfire, and directional movement.

Designed for PC, PS5, Xbox and Different Ways to Play — Plug In and Play with 2.4GHz Wireless

With 2.4GHz wireless connectivity via a plug-and-play USB dongle, CHIMERA is designed for quick and easy use across PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox and other supported gaming devices, making it suitable for players who move between competitive PC gaming, console titles, movies and everyday entertainment.

Its open and spacious presentation is designed to behave differently depending on the type of game being played.

In competitive shooters such as VALORANT, Counter-Strike 2, Call of Duty: Warzone and Apex Legends, positional detail becomes especially important. Footsteps, gunfire and movement cues can help players understand not only what is happening, but where it is happening.

For large-scale games such as Fortnite, the wider presentation can help separate environmental sounds, movement, combat effects and surrounding activity within busy scenes.

In cinematic, story-driven titles such as Cyberpunk 2077, the system is designed to create a more expansive sense of space around dialogue, music, vehicles and environmental effects, bringing the player deeper into the game world.

And in atmospheric action titles such as Elden Ring, CHIMERA's open presentation can help give environmental ambience, orchestral soundtracks and large-scale combat a greater sense of space and scale.

Rather than tuning the experience around a single genre, CHIMERA is designed to move between competitive precision and cinematic immersion depending on what the player is doing.

Built Around the Player — and the Chair

Because CHIMERA mounts directly to the gaming chair, the acoustic units can be adjusted for different chairs, seating positions and body heights.

Players can change the height, distance and angle of the system to position the sound around their preferred listening position.

Once adjusted, there is no headband to reposition and no earcups or earbuds resting directly on the ears, making CHIMERA particularly suited to longer gaming, streaming and desktop sessions.

Communication Without the Traditional Headset

For multiplayer communication, CHIMERA integrates AI-powered ANC and ENC voice-processing algorithms, helping reduce background noise and improve voice clarity during gaming sessions, online calls and team communication.

The goal is to preserve the communication functionality players expect from a gaming headset while changing the physical experience of how gaming audio is delivered.

A Different Kind of Gaming Audio Setup

Traditional headphones, desktop speakers and soundbars each come with their own compromises.

Headphones provide privacy and positional detail but must be worn. Speakers create a more open listening experience, but are affected more heavily by room placement and listening position, while the left and right channels cannot be fully isolated at the listener's ears.

CHIMERA explores a space between the two.

For gamers who enjoy immersive audio but are tired of wearing a headset for hours, CHIMERA is designed to offer another option.

A Launch Offer for Early Backers

COLOLIGHT CHIMERA launches on Kickstarter on September 22, with a $219 Super Early Bird price.

Early supporters will be among the first to experience COLOLIGHT's new approach to chair-mounted open-ear gaming audio.
