Roofing Expert Ryan Pacheco of Roanoke, VA Explains How to Choose Between Roof Repair and Replacement for HelloNation

ROANOKE, Va., Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- When should a homeowner choose roof repair instead of a full replacement? The answer is explained in a HelloNation article that helps Virginia homeowners understand how age, weather, and roof condition influence this important decision. The article, featuring insights from Roofing Expert Ryan Pacheco, walks readers through the factors that determine whether repairing or replacing will deliver the most reliable and lasting results.

The article begins with one of the most common starting points: the age of the roof. Asphalt shingles have a predictable lifespan, and once that limit approaches, new repairs may not bond effectively. HelloNation explains that when shingles become brittle or lose granules, even small fixes can fail to seal properly. Many Virginia homes experience powerful storms each year, which can accelerate this wear and make patching older materials less dependable.

For newer roofs, roof repair can often be a practical and long-lasting solution. When shingles still show flexibility and strong granule coverage, isolated storm damage can be fixed without a full replacement. The article notes that the key lies in understanding whether damage is localized or part of a wider aging pattern. A professional inspection helps determine if issues stem from one event or from gradual deterioration that will continue across the roof.

Virginia's weather has a major influence on these decisions. Heavy rain, strong winds, and fast temperature changes all test a roof's ability to stay sealed. HelloNation explains that older shingles lose adhesion more easily and can lift or crack after repeated exposure. In contrast, newer roofing systems perform better under the same stress because their adhesive strips remain strong and their base layers intact. By weighing both weather history and material condition, homeowners can make informed choices about repair versus replacement.

The article also highlights how the roof deck affects long-term success. Beneath every shingle lies the wood structure that supports the roofing system. If moisture has penetrated this layer, repairs lose their effectiveness. Signs like soft spots, staining, or sagging indicate that water has already reached the decking. Roofing Expert Ryan Pacheco stresses that placing new shingles over a weakened deck may temporarily hide the problem but cannot resolve it. In such cases, a full roof replacement provides the stronger, safer solution.

Not all roof damage, however, calls for full replacement. Isolated storm damage can often be managed with precise roof repair. Common examples include fallen branches, wind-lifted shingles, or minor impact marks. The article describes how contractors check surrounding shingles to confirm they still seal properly and sit flat. If the nearby materials remain in good shape, a focused repair can restore function without unnecessary cost. This approach works well when the roof is within the first half of its shingle lifespan.

Granule loss offers another visible clue about roofing health. Shingles that appear smooth or show exposed asphalt patches usually indicate advanced aging. In those cases, repairing small sections rarely provides lasting results. The repaired areas may stand out or deteriorate unevenly, leading to recurring maintenance. HelloNation explains that at this stage, roof replacement ensures consistent protection across the entire surface.

Ventilation also plays a critical role in roof longevity. Poor airflow in the attic or under the roof can cause excess heat buildup, aging shingles faster than expected. Roofing Expert Ryan Pacheco notes that even a roof that appears young can fail early if ventilation is inadequate. When contractors identify heat or moisture imbalances, they may recommend broader replacement work to include new venting systems. This ensures that future roofing materials reach their full service life.

A thorough inspection provides clarity and confidence in the decision-making process. HelloNation outlines how contractors evaluate shingle flexibility, seal strength, granule coverage, and roof deck integrity. These findings, combined with awareness of local Virginia storms and seasonal changes, create a clear picture of what the roof truly needs.

The article emphasizes practicality over guesswork. Repairing a small section of an otherwise strong roof can save money and extend service life. However, when signs of widespread aging, granule loss, or moisture damage appear, a complete roof replacement becomes the more reliable and cost-effective option. By using evidence from an inspection rather than assumptions, homeowners can plan with fewer surprises.

HelloNation concludes that balancing short-term repairs with long-term stability helps protect both property and peace of mind. Roofing Expert Ryan Pacheco encourages homeowners to see the roof as a system rather than individual parts. Each decision—whether to repair or replace—should consider not just visible damage but also the roof deck, ventilation, and the impact of Virginia's storms over time.

In the end, the HelloNation article gives readers a practical framework for comparing repair and replacement options. It replaces uncertainty with simple, fact-based reasoning that anyone can apply. The message is clear: when a roof shows consistent performance and minor damage, roof repair is often sufficient, but when age, weather, or structure compromise its strength, replacement is the smarter investment.

HelloNation Reviews Replacement Cost and Actual Cash Value With Insights From Insurance Agent Eric Jaslow
Image File
Original HTML

The article explains how replacement cost, actual cash value, and the 80 percent rule influence home insurance payouts for homeowners in Nyack.

NYACK, N.Y., Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- What determines how much an insurance company pays after a homeowner files a property claim? HelloNation addresses this topic in a HelloNation article that explains the differences between replacement cost and actual cash value and how those terms affect home insurance payouts.

The HelloNation article explains that many homeowners encounter these two terms when reviewing home insurance policies. Replacement cost coverage reimburses policyholders for the cost to repair or rebuild damaged property using current market prices for materials and labor. This approach aims to restore the home to its original condition without subtracting depreciation.

Actual cash value works differently. The article notes that this form of coverage factors in depreciation based on the age and condition of the property or belongings at the time of loss. As a result, insurance payouts may be significantly lower because the value of older materials or items is reduced before reimbursement is calculated.

The article provides an example involving roofing. If a roof is several years old and insured under actual cash value, the insurance payout may reflect only a portion of the replacement cost. Homeowners could then be responsible for paying the remaining balance needed to fully repair or replace the roof. In areas like Nyack, where construction and labor costs are relatively high, these differences can have a noticeable financial impact.

Another key concept explained in the article is the 80 percent rule, which affects how insurance claims are paid for partial losses. Many home insurance policies require homeowners to insure their property for at least 80 percent of its replacement cost. If the dwelling coverage falls below that threshold, the insurer may reduce the claim payout proportionally.

The article emphasizes that understanding the 80 percent rule is important for preventing underinsurance. Even if a loss is covered by the policy, failing to meet the required coverage level could result in reduced reimbursement. Insurance Agent professionals often encourage homeowners to review their dwelling coverage regularly to ensure it reflects current rebuilding costs.

Estimating rebuilding cost accurately is another topic discussed in the HelloNation article. Homeowners sometimes assume that market value reflects rebuilding cost, but the article explains that these figures are not always the same. Construction expenses depend on factors such as square footage, building materials, labor rates, and special architectural features.

Replacement cost calculators and professional property evaluations can help homeowners estimate the appropriate amount of dwelling coverage. The article notes that these estimates should be updated periodically, particularly in regions like Rockland County where construction costs have risen steadily in recent years.

The HelloNation article also discusses optional endorsements that may expand policy protections. Some homeowners choose endorsements that account for building code upgrades that may be required during reconstruction after a loss. Personal belongings may also be insured at replacement cost if the policy specifically includes that coverage rather than defaulting to actual cash value.

Reviewing policy details before a claim occurs is an important step in understanding potential out of pocket costs. Insurance Agent professionals often advise homeowners to confirm how their policies treat both the structure of the home and personal property. This helps ensure that insurance coverage reflects realistic rebuilding expenses and replacement needs.

The article concludes that replacement cost coverage generally offers more comprehensive protection because it does not subtract depreciation from payouts. Actual cash value policies may carry lower premiums but can leave homeowners responsible for larger costs after a loss. Understanding these differences helps homeowners evaluate risk and maintain adequate protection for their property.

Organic Produce In Clallam County Highlighted In HelloNation Featuring Natural Health Expert Kyla Magner

The article explains how USDA Organic labels, local markets, and seasonal sourcing help shoppers make informed food choices.

PORT ANGELES, Wash., Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- How can shoppers identify high-quality organic produce in Clallam County? In a HelloNation article, readers are guided through the meaning of USDA Organic certification, the value of local markets, and practical steps for selecting fresh fruits and vegetables.

The HelloNation article explains that understanding natural food labels is the first step in choosing organic produce. The USDA Organic seal indicates that a product meets strict federal standards for how it is grown, processed, and handled. In contrast, the article notes that a "natural" label does not carry a federal definition for farming practices and does not guarantee the same environmental or quality standards.

By clarifying these distinctions, the article helps shoppers in Clallam County make informed decisions. Organic produce bearing the USDA Organic seal must comply with regulated practices that limit synthetic pesticides and fertilizers. The article emphasizes that recognizing the difference between certified and loosely labeled products supports better purchasing choices.

Natural Health Expert Kyla Magner is featured in the HelloNation article, which outlines where residents can look for organic produce locally. Many natural foods stores and local markets maintain dedicated organic sections. The article explains that these stores often partner with regional farms to source seasonal produce, which can support freshness and local agriculture.

Freshness is another major theme discussed in the article. When selecting organic produce, shoppers are encouraged to look for vibrant colors, firm textures, and minimal blemishes. Seasonal produce is often fresher and more affordable because it is harvested at peak ripeness and travels shorter distances. The article notes that imported items may spend more time in transit, which can affect both flavor and nutrient content.

The HelloNation article also highlights the benefits of asking questions at local markets. Speaking with staff about where items were grown and how they were handled can offer valuable insight. Understanding sourcing practices allows shoppers to evaluate not only quality but also sustainability and environmental impact.

Natural Health Expert Kyla Magner's insights are reflected in the article's discussion of balancing certified labels with local sourcing. While USDA Organic certification ensures compliance with rigorous standards, purchasing from regional farms can provide transparency and a closer connection to the food supply. The article explains that comparing both options can help consumers weigh quality, sustainability, and cost.

Beyond fruits and vegetables, the article reminds readers that organic shopping extends to other grocery categories. Many stores in Clallam County carry organic grains, nuts, and packaged goods. Reading natural food labels carefully helps ensure that these products align with personal health goals and meet recognized certification standards.

The article concludes by reinforcing that informed shopping decisions rely on label awareness and thoughtful sourcing. By paying attention to USDA Organic certification, choosing seasonal produce, and supporting local markets, residents can select organic produce that aligns with their values and nutritional priorities.

Where to Find Organic Produce in Clallam County features insights from Kyla Magner, Natural Health Expert of Port Angeles, Washington, in HelloNation.

Titan International Signs Definitive Agreement to Sell ITM Business to USCO S.p.A.
Image File
Original HTML

Transaction expected to generate up to approximately $285 million in total cash value

WEST CHICAGO, Ill., Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Titan International, Inc. (NYSE: TWI) ("Titan" or the "Company"), a leading global manufacturer of off-highway wheels, tires and undercarriage products, today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to sell its Italtractor ITM undercarriage business ("ITM") to USCO S.p.A. ("USCO").

Under the terms of the agreement, Titan will receive an initial purchase price of $207 million, plus the opportunity to receive an additional $6 million in earnout proceeds based on ITM's achievement of specified performance criteria for 2026. The transaction is also subject to customary adjustments based on ITM's specified net asset and financial position at closing, which Titan currently expects will provide approximately $23 million of additional cash value. In connection with the transaction, Titan has received or expects to receive $49 million in dividends from ITM, consisting of $38 million received in recent years and $11 million expected prior to closing. Taken together, these amounts are expected to provide Titan with up to approximately $285 million in total cash value, including the potential earnout.

For Titan, the transaction will allow the Company to sharpen its strategic focus on its core global wheel and tire operations serving the agricultural, construction and consumer markets. It will also significantly strengthen Titan's financial position and provide greater flexibility to invest behind the Company's highest-priority growth opportunities.

"It has been approximately ten (10) years since I left the President/CEO position to Paul Reitz and forty-three (43) years since Titan started with no employees and no sales. So, you might say I have seen a lot. The potential sale of ITM was first discussed with Titan's Board of Directors over ten (10) years when Titan was approached with an offer of less than $100 million. The deal Paul and his team completed has required a lot of patience and I know I could not have gotten this deal done because I do not have that level of patience. This deal is good for Titan and good for USCO. TWI received a fair price, and USCO will now have a strong track manufacturing business with a good brand and great people.

Looking back a decade ago, the primary task for me was finding my replacement. Well, there is no doubt I chose the right man! Paul has led this team for over ten (10) years and done an excellent job. The last ten (10) years have been tough, but as President Trump said we are going into the Golden Age. India has been flooding our country with offroad tires and wheels using unfair practices as we have proven with the International Trade Commission. President Trump is focused on bringing back manufacturing to the USA, but it's a difficult situation in our industry that requires people understanding real manufacturing of converting raw materials into finished products. I feel that the White House sometimes loses its way with financial people having too much of a say and not enough people that understand real manufacturing.

Our Board of Directors feels there are good opportunities out there to utilize the sale proceeds to explore the purchase of other businesses. TWI has a very bright future because of the depth of our product portfolio and manufacturing footprint. Titan is the world leader in both wheels and tires in the farm industry and let's not forget the decades of investment we have made with technical engineering and tooling into the large Ag wheels and tires that we produce. Our innovation pipeline of new products has been strong in recent years for farm, industrial and consumer products, and we have been achieving this at competitive cost levels for our customers at the same time.

I am inflating my own ego, because of what Paul and his team pulled off with this transaction and how good I feel that Titan is entering the Golden Age of manufacturing. Paul has also put a group in TWI to make a push into Defense business. Which could be very large for Titan in the next few years. I am betting most of you reading this did not know that TWI made the first aluminum wheels for auto/pickup in the early 90's. Today 100% of vehicle/passenger wheels are made in China, India and Japan. That means all cars and pickups could be stopped without wheels in USA! 80 million wheels each year are imported. That is $8 Billion dollars each year in income. Yes, I believe the Golden years are ahead, and TWI has proven leadership in Paul Reitz and his team. As the Pointer Sisters song goes 'I'm so excited' – that's me an old man.

The last acquisition that Titan made was the Carlstar Group Wheels & Tires. So far, it has proven to be a really good deal. I should also mention that over the last few years, TWI has bought back over $100 million shares of TWI Common Stock with its cash flow. Paul's team has done an excellent job. I hope the Golden Age of Manufacturing comes to the USA for TWI has the capacity to easily double production in wheels and tires. There are very few in this world that could make that statement. Thank you for taking the time to read this note.

In conclusion, I want to thank Cecilia La Manna for her invaluable service and many contributions to ITM and Titan. I've known Cecilia for nearly 30 years, and I've watched her grow into an incredible global business leader. Her determination and commitment is a significant reason why ITM is the business that it is today. USCO is getting much more than a good business and plants, they are getting a strong management team. Cecilia and her team will continue to do great things for USCO and lead them well into a prosperous future.

If you are ever in Illinois – Quincy or Freeport; Tennessee - Union City or Clinton; Bryan, Ohio, Sao Paulo, Brazil, Kidderminster, UK; Meizhou, China and Finale Emilia (list locations), I invite you as a Shareholder to stop in and see how our products are made.

— Maurice M. Taylor, Jr., Chairman of Titan's Board of Directors

"This transaction is an important step forward in Titan's transformation. We have worked hard to reach an agreement that delivers strong value for Titan and provides ITM with an owner that understands the undercarriage business and is committed to its future. The transaction will allow Titan to focus our people, capital and resources on our core global wheel and tire operations while giving us the financial capacity to pursue accretive growth opportunities and reduce debt. This transaction helps Titan to reshape its portfolio, accelerate strategic investments, pursue transformative acquisitions and partnerships, and create long-term value for our shareholders."

— Paul Reitz, President and Chief Executive Officer of Titan

The transaction represents an important strategic step for both organizations. As part of USCO, ITM will have the opportunity to build on its position as a global provider of undercarriage components and complete undercarriage solutions, with additional focus and resources to support long-term growth, customer service, product innovation and geographic expansion. ITM designs, manufactures and distributes undercarriage systems and components for construction, mining, forestry, road-building and agricultural applications through a global manufacturing and distribution network.

Titan currently intends to use a portion of the transaction proceeds to reduce existing debt and strengthen its balance sheet. In future periods, the Company also expects to deploy capital toward key growth investments, including accretive acquisitions and strategic partnerships that expand Titan's capabilities, strengthen its market positions and support the Company's long-term transformation.

The transaction is expected to close early in January 2027, subject to the satisfaction of customary closing conditions, including required regulatory approvals and other customary conditions. Until closing, ITM and Titan will continue to operate in the ordinary course of business. The parties anticipate completion shortly following receipt of all required regulatory approvals.

Titan and ITM were advised by the law firm Gianni & Origoni on legal matters and by Poggi & Associati on tax matters. USCO has been assisted by Eidos Partners as financial advisor, by the law firm Simmons+Simmons and by BDO and KPMG as due-diligence consultants

ITM is a global designer, manufacturer and service provider of undercarriage components and complete undercarriage solutions. The business serves original equipment and aftermarket customers across construction, mining, forestry, road-building, agricultural and other specialized applications through an international manufacturing, service and distribution network. ITM is also a pioneer in undercarriage sensor technology, including its TRUST ITM® monitoring solution.

Nuveen Green Capital Closes New Hampshire's First C‑PACE Financing, Backing BRX Development's The Brickyard in Lebanon

New Hampshire's inaugural C‑PACER closing delivers cost-effective capital for master-planned residential community

NEW YORK, Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Nuveen Green Capital (NGC), a leading provider of Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) financing, today announced the closing of $23.2 million in C-PACE financing for the ground-up development of The Brickyard in Lebanon, New Hampshire, the first C-PACE transaction ever completed in the state of New Hampshire. The financing, administered through the New Hampshire Business Finance Authority (BFA) under the state's newly launched C-PACER Program, closed alongside a $31.5 million senior construction loan from Silver Heights Capital. The $55 million total financing package was arranged by Kay Finance.

The sponsor, BRX Development, a New England based real estate development firm, is leveraging C-PACE financing to fund energy and water efficiency measures, as well as flood/stormwater management improvements across the project. The first phase of construction, situated on a 26-acre site at 174 Hanover Street—the historic former Densmore Brickyard—includes 51 three-bedroom for-sale townhome condominiums, The Townhomes, and a 42-unit Class A rental apartment building, the Goff House. Once the initial phase is complete and the Townhomes assessment is retired from condo sale proceeds, the sponsor intends to bring an additional 381 rental apartments to the site.

Innovative C-PACE Capital Structure

The transaction is structured as two coordinated C-PACE assessments: a $12.2 million assessment supporting the Townhomes and an $11 million assessment supporting the Goff House. Both assessments carry a 30-year term, delivering long-term, fixed-rate, non-recourse financing that reduces the sponsor's blended cost of capital and preserves equity for future phases.

By pairing C-PACE with Silver Heights Capital's senior construction loan, the capital structure enables the sponsor to accelerate delivery of Phase 1 while creating an innovative mechanism to redeploy senior loan proceeds into Phase 2, demonstrating how C-PACE can serve not only as a source of accretive construction capital but as a strategic tool for phased, master-planned development.

Landmark Financing in New Hampshire

As the first C-PACE transaction to close in the State of New Hampshire, this financing establishes a precedent that is expected to catalyze additional deployment across the state. New Hampshire's C-PACER Program, administered through the New Hampshire Business Finance Authority, was designed to attract private capital toward energy-efficient and resilient commercial and multifamily construction.

"This landmark financing represents the continued growth of C-PACE as a mainstream commercial real estate financing solution, demonstrating the platform's expanding reach into new markets and how C-PACE can complement senior capital to support complex development projects. We are pleased to partner with BRX Development and Silver Heights Capital on this transaction," said Mike Doty, Senior Director of Originations for Nuveen Green Capital. "New Hampshire joins a growing list of states where property owners and developers can now access C-PACE to cost-effectively build more efficient, more resilient buildings, and we're proud to have delivered the state's inaugural transaction."

"C-PACE has been a critical component of our capital strategy for The Brickyard, allowing us to invest in high-performance building systems and long-term efficiency measures without compromising the quality, design, or pace of delivery our residents and buyers expect," said Simon Beylin, Co-Founder of BRX Development. "We're honored to be part of the first C-PACE financing in New Hampshire and to be delivering a project that will contribute meaningfully to the housing supply and vibrancy of the Upper Valley."

"The Brickyard addresses a significant need for new housing in one of New England's most supply-constrained markets," said Seth Greenwald, Managing Partner of Silver Heights Capital. "BRX has assembled a thoughtful development plan with strong support from the Business Finance Authority, local stakeholders, and the broader community. We value our longstanding relationship with Nuveen Green Capital and are pleased to collaborate on this financing."

"It's been a privilege to work with the teams at Nuveen Green Capital and Silver Heights Capital in securing the first C-PACE loan in the state of New Hampshire," said Eitan Rozenberg of Kay Finance, who led the debt arrangement. "We're proud to have assisted the developers in securing low-cost capital for this historic project."

"New Hampshire needs innovative solutions to address our development challenges, and this landmark transaction is exactly the kind of creative financing the BFA was designed to help support," said James Key-Wallace, Executive Director, New Hampshire Business Finance Authority. "By unlocking more than $23 million in private capital—without the use of taxpayer dollars—this project is delivering much-needed housing, improving energy and water efficiency, and strengthening our local communities. This is a powerful example of how the BFA and its partners can create lasting public benefits while supporting New Hampshire's economic future."

Some households experience hard water, while others may notice sediment, iron, or unusual odors. Each of these issues requires a different approach to water treatment, and identifying the source of the problem is the first step in selecting the correct system.

Water filters are one of the most common solutions used in private well systems. The article notes that a water filter is designed to remove physical contaminants such as sediment, rust particles, and other materials that affect water clarity.

Certain filtration systems can also reduce compounds like iron or sulfur that cause discoloration or unpleasant odors. Well Service Experts explain that filtration helps improve the appearance and taste of water while also protecting plumbing components from buildup and corrosion.

The HelloNation article also discusses the role of water softeners. A water softener is specifically designed to address hard water caused by minerals such as calcium and magnesium.

Hard water can leave scale deposits inside pipes, appliances, and water heaters. Over time, these mineral deposits may reduce efficiency and shorten the lifespan of household equipment.

Water softeners work by replacing hardness minerals with sodium or potassium. This process prevents scale formation and helps keep plumbing systems operating more efficiently.

The article notes that some homes with well water may not immediately notice hardness issues because the water may appear clear and odorless. However, the presence of mineral buildup on fixtures or cloudy spots on dishes can indicate that a water softener may be beneficial.

In some situations, homeowners may need both a water filter and a water softener. The HelloNation article explains that this combination is often recommended when water contains multiple issues, such as hardness along with iron or sediment.

Installing both systems allows homeowners to address separate water quality concerns simultaneously. Well Service Experts emphasize that selecting the appropriate combination helps improve water quality while protecting plumbing and appliances from damage.

Testing is an important step in determining which treatment option is necessary. A certified water test measures several factors, including hardness, iron levels, sulfur content, and pH balance.

The article explains that these results provide a clear picture of the well water's composition. With accurate testing information, homeowners can select treatment equipment designed specifically for the issues present in their water supply.

Regular testing can also reveal changes in water quality over time. Groundwater conditions may shift due to seasonal changes or environmental factors, which can affect treatment needs.

The HelloNation article concludes that many homes in Berkshire County benefit from some form of well water treatment. Filters can remove sediment, iron, and odors, while softeners address hardness that leads to scale buildup.

Understanding the composition of well water through testing allows homeowners to install the most appropriate system and maintain a reliable, efficient household water supply.

Do You Need a Water Filter or Softener for Berkshire Wells? features insights from Matt Barnes, Well Service Expert of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, in HelloNation.

INSEAD AI Forum Americas debates AI's impact across industry, careers and society
Original HTML

FONTAINEBLEAU, France and SINGAPORE and SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Every industry is now being asked the same question: not whether to adopt AI, but how to do so in a way that strengthens rather than hollows out the organisations and people building them. That question sat at the centre of INSEAD's AI Forum Americas 2026, which brought together business leaders, scientists, founders and policymakers in San Francisco this week for two days of debate on how artificial intelligence is reshaping industry, work and society.

Across keynotes, panels and workshops spanning healthcare, robotics, organisational design and the future of careers, a consistent thread emerged: AI's promise is inseparable from the discipline of implementation. Capturing its value responsibly means building the right frameworks, exercising sharper judgment about what to automate and what to protect, and investing in the human partnerships that make transformation durable rather than disruptive.

Day One: Launching the INSEAD Future Council

Day one started with the official launch of the INSEAD Future Council. This new initiative looks to bring together a network of communities, including enterprises, start-ups, investors, global innovation corridors, think tanks and academics, to work alongside INSEAD.

The Council aims to deliver practical value across five pillars, starting by giving industry access to INSEAD's MBA and EMBA talent through student projects and hiring opportunities. It will also foster knowledge by bringing real-world challenges and data into academic research, and improve learning by designing education programmes around current priorities. The Council will also create a connected network between industry and INSEAD's global alumni community, and generate impact through shared research and events.

"The Council is a two-way partnership: INSEAD brings a global platform, faculty, talent and an alumni network, and Council members bring the strategic challenges we all face as we roll out AI at the fastest possible pace," said Victoria Woo, Senior Director of the INSEAD San Francisco Hub of Business Innovation.

Dean of Research & Innovation Lily Fang used the Forum as an opportunity to give more details on the launch of the INSEAD Human and Machine Intelligence Institute (HUMII), made possible by a five-year, 15-million-euro gift from an alum. HUMII's mission is to research and teach how AI can amplify human intelligence and expand human agency rather than focus on the technology itself. HUMII's five founding principles, Fang explained, are modelled on INSEAD's own entrepreneurial roots – open and interdisciplinary, entrepreneurial and courageous, faculty-led and independent, focused on quality over hype, and deeply connected to the outside world – positioning the institute to earn further funding by proving its impact, much like a startup hitting milestones.

"We have a very strong voice, perhaps increasingly needed by this world, to think about how this technology will impact human society and business," Lily Fang, Dean of Research & Innovation and Academic Director of HUMII.

Learning, innovation, organisational challenges and the real-world impact of AI were recurring themes throughout the forum. This included the day's opening panel, which explored the growing impact of AI in healthcare with Marc Tessier-Lavigne, co-founder, Chairman and CEO of Xaira Therapeutics. He explained how AI is reshaping how new medicines get discovered, from target identification to clinical trial design, and compressing timelines that used to take a decade into a fraction of the time.

Josh Cohen of Apple University then took the stage to explain why companies need to consider a "4A" framework to better integrate AI into work.

"The design idea is to avoid falling into either the language or the practice of knee-jerk automation, which does potentially great human damage. We avoid it by designing with a framework of alternatives in mind: automation when we can, augmentation when we can, addition when it's needed, and avoidance when excessive reliance undermines learning or erodes relationships."

Day one also featured panels, organised by the INSEAD Future Council, focusing on the potential geopolitical tensions arising from AI development, and a session emphasising the value of diversity and emotional intelligence when it came to sparking innovation and entrepreneurship. Other sessions touched on the role of robots in the operating theatre, how much we should hand over to AI in the workplace, and why boards need to better understand AI to lead their organisations through this transformative moment.

Day Two: From the Research Lab to the Factory Floor

Day two opened with Yossi Matias, Vice President at Google and head of Google Research, who showed just how far AI has already reached into the real world, from satellites that spot wildfires before they spread, to LearnLM and NotebookLM tools built to support teachers rather than replace them, to MedGemma, an open-source medical model already downloaded millions of times. Matias's own team is even putting AI to work as a co-scientist, generating hypotheses and combing research literature across disciplines.

The sessions that followed dug into what it actually takes to make AI work inside an organisation, from building AI-ready teams and rethinking incentive structures, to the operational realities of agentic AI, physical AI and robotics on the factory floor and city streets, to hard data on how automation is reshaping careers and long-term earning potential.

The day closed with a keynote talk from Vivienne Ming, Chief Scientist at Possibility Sciences and author of the new book Robot Proof: When Machines Have All the Answers, Build Better People. She argued that AI's real power lies not in giving us answers but in pushing us to think harder.

"Challenging people makes them better. Invest in better people by investing in technology that challenges us to be better," said Ming.

The AI Forum Americas marked the second stop in INSEAD's 2026 AI Forum series. The global series began with the Europe Forum, held in Paris and Fontainebleau in June, and will continue in Singapore on 30-31 October. The AI Forums are part of IN:AI - The INSEAD Initiative on Responsible AI Leadership, which brings together education, research and engagement to advance responsible AI leadership.

FCT Introduces Liquid Leak Detection Flex Assembly for AI and High-Performance Computing Systems

MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Flexible Circuit Technologies Inc. (FCT), a Minnesota-based flexible circuit and advanced electronics manufacturer, is pleased to announce the development of its Liquid Leak Detection Flex Assembly, a custom-engineered sensing solution designed for liquid-cooled AI servers, high-performance computing (HPC) systems, cold plates, manifolds, quick disconnects, coolant distribution units (CDUs), and other mission-critical electronics.

As AI and HPC platforms continue to move toward direct-to-chip liquid cooling, early detection of coolant leaks is becoming increasingly important. FCT's flexible sensing assembly is designed to fit around the geometry of the cooling system, enabling leak detection close to potential failure points while maintaining a thin, lightweight profile in space-constrained server and rack environments.

The Liquid Leak Detection Flex Assembly can be customized for the application, including sensing patterns, circuit geometry, connector interfaces, and multiple detection zones. Potential monitoring locations include supply and return quick disconnects, GPU and CPU cold plates, manifolds, coolant lines, CDUs, and server trays. The flex-based architecture is intended to help OEMs and cooling-system manufacturers integrate leak sensing directly into their equipment rather than relying solely on facility-level leak detection.

"The rapid growth of liquid-cooled AI infrastructure is creating a new need for thin, compact, highly customized leak-detection solutions," said Ray Cottrell, EVP of Flexible Circuit Technologies. "FCT's strength is designing flexible circuits around the customer's mechanical and electrical requirements. This concept allows us to bring that capability directly to cold plates, manifolds, quick disconnects, and server-level cooling assemblies where early detection can help protect high-value electronics."

FCT plans to work with server OEMs and ODMs, liquid-cooling companies, cold-plate manufacturers, thermal-management suppliers, and data-center infrastructure providers to tailor the assembly to specific cooling architectures. FCT's engineering team can support concept development, rapid prototyping, design-for-manufacturing, flex circuit fabrication, assembly, and scalable production.

Flexible Circuit Technologies, Inc. (FCT), and inTFlex (EMS division), offer specialty interconnects, including flexible circuits, catheters, rigid flex, flexible heaters, printed electronics/membrane switches, plastic moldings, and advanced EMS, from FPCA/PCBA to complete product box builds. We partner with customers to design innovative flexible circuits and manufacture solution. Celebrating over 25 years in business, FCT has an internationally recognized design team, with advanced manufacturing to support fast NPI and cost-effective manufacturing solutions in Asia.
