Collaboration advances Knowtion's broader AI strategy to augment reimbursement recovery across the most complex post-claim revenue cycle challenges

BOCA RATON, Fla., Sept. 23, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Knowtion Health, a healthcare company specializing in complex revenue recovery for providers, today announced the launch of a strategic partnership with Ghamut Corporation, an artificial intelligence (AI) strategy and development firm, to apply AI to the most complex revenue cycle challenges that require more than rules-based automation. The partnership starts with a targeted application of AI within the appeals process to support specialists as they navigate claims requiring complex review. This initiative represents the next step in expanding Knowtion's use of AI across complex revenue cycle challenges.

The most challenging revenue cycle work rarely follows predictable, repeatable patterns. Specialists often must review lengthy medical records, payer policies, state and federal regulatory rules and clinical guidelines before determining how to proceed. To address this challenge, Knowtion's solutions team identified opportunities to deploy AI to augment the support available to specialists and defined how the technology should work, drawing on the company's claims history, payer knowledge and revenue cycle domain expertise. Working alongside that team, Ghamut supported the technical implementation. The result is technology designed to strengthen outcomes and reduce errors, while allowing specialists to use their judgment to optimize the output.

"Our specialists bring the judgment and experience needed to navigate complex revenue recovery," said Mikky Franklin, chief delivery officer, Knowtion Health. "Working with Ghamut gives them a more powerful way to surface the information and context they need to make decisions and accelerate stronger appeals. This is one of several ways we plan to apply AI to strengthen how we serve our clients."

Ghamut brings deep technical and scientific expertise in applied AI, having led or implemented more than $250 million in AI initiatives across industry, government and academic institutions. That caliber of technical rigor and critical thinking is what allows the partnership to move beyond basic automation and build AI that surfaces the context specialists need.

The AI-enabled approach helps specialists surface and synthesize relevant clinical information more efficiently, enabling them to evaluate more eligible claims and build comprehensive, well-supported arguments for payment. Development and use of the approach are governed by the company's existing security and privacy protocols for healthcare provider and patient information.

Internal testing found that the AI support substantially lifts payment recovery rates. The findings demonstrate the potential of combining AI with specialist judgment to build stronger, better-supported appeals and help health systems recover additional revenue.

"Effective AI starts with the right ingredients," said Mohammad Ghassemi, Ph.D., founding partner of Ghamut. "At Knowtion, those ingredients included a clear solution vision, years of complex claims data and people who possess deep domain experience. Our role was to translate those elements into a practical solution while preserving the human judgment at the center of the work. That combination is what turns technical possibility into practical value and allows us to continue progressing."

Beyond appeals, Knowtion is applying this approach to other complex areas of revenue cycle work, with additional AI-driven capabilities already underway. Each is designed to help specialists identify and pursue more recovery opportunities, expand the range of claims evaluated, and ultimately recover more revenue for health systems.

The Clean Energy Association of New Mexico Comments on the State Land Uranium Ban
Image File
Original HTML

GRANTS, N.M., Sept. 23, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The Clean Energy Association of New Mexico (CLEAN) today expressed opposition to the Land Commission of the State of New Mexico's Executive Order ("Order") banning uranium exploration, development, and extraction on State lands.

CLEAN is disappointed by the Order, which, although limited in scope, runs counter to the economic and energy interests of New Mexico and its citizens. The Order only applies to State Lands and at a time when the State has not granted a new uranium lease on State lands in well over a decade. That said, this action continues to severely limit economic activity on State lands which would bring economic benefit, access to affordable and safe sources of domestic energy, and the opportunity to benefit from significant advances in environmentally responsible uranium extraction technology.

The timing and intent of restricting an economic activity which has evolved substantially over the past six decades is unfortunate. Many of the historic uranium-related legacy issues occurred approximately 60 years ago, before the implementation of the New Mexico Mining Act of 1993 and other modern safety, environmental, and operational standards.

It is misleading to compare any modern industry solely with the way it operated 60 years ago. Virtually every part of our economy has changed dramatically since then. Automotive manufacturing, air travel, energy production, construction, agriculture, and other industries now rely on technologies, safeguards, operating practices, and regulatory requirements that would have been unfamiliar six decades ago. The uranium industry and the companies that comprise it have undergone that same transformation.

"The United States is the world's largest consumer of nuclear energy and the uranium that powers the reactors is over 90% sourced from outside the United States. The pursuit of cost-effective clean energy, and growing national security needs, has created a renewed demand for domestic uranium. This reality combined with strong domestic production potential provides New Mexico with the opportunity to be a leader in the United States," said Janet Lee-Sheriff, President and Director of CLEAN. "This moment presents a strong economic opportunity for New Mexico, its citizens, and its communities due to the significant resources in the State. While we fully recognize that past practices created serious issues, today's proven technologies—such as In-Situ Recovery ("ISR") of uranium—provides safe and responsible options. New Mexico is a national leader in uranium resources, and this abundance combined with strong leadership, can create significant wealth and benefits for the State and its people when resources are developed properly. ISR can accomplish this while protecting the land, water, air, and people of New Mexico."

CLEAN welcomes the opportunity to meet with communities, elected and regulatory officials, and community groups for healthy dialogue and information sharing. Constructive engagement and an understanding of modern uranium recovery practices are essential to sound decision-making about New Mexico's energy and economic future.

About In-Situ Recovery Technology

In-Situ Recovery ("ISR") offers a minimally intrusive, eco-friendly, and economically competitive approach to mineral extraction. It's a proven, successful technique for extracting uranium, utilized in the United States in Texas, Nebraska and Wyoming. Unlike traditional mining, ISR utilizes wellfield technology to extract uranium from ISR-amenable, sandstone- hosted deposits. This technology is responsible for approximately 60% of all uranium extraction in the world. The NRC has stated that there has never been an incident of the contamination of drinking water from the ISR process.1

About the Clean Energy Association of New Mexico

The Clean Energy Association of New Mexico (CLEAN) provides education, awareness, and innovative tools to support a strong and safe nuclear energy sector needed to fuel the U.S. nuclear renaissance. CLEAN advocates for responsible uranium extraction and recovery through in-situ recovery ("ISR"), working to build sustainable socio-economic benefits for local communities and the State while respecting the land, water, air, and people. CLEAN hosted the inaugural Nuclear in New Mexico conference in April 2026 and will host the 2nd annual conference in May 2027.

From Advice to Action: How Ping An Good Doctor Is Bringing Healthcare AI into the Real World

HONG KONG, Sept. 23, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Most healthcare AI tools can analyze symptoms and suggest a care plan, but far fewer can help patients follow through. The gap appears both when people try to maintain proper form during a home workout and when they must navigate an unfamiliar hospital in another language. This distance between digital advice and real-world action can be thought of as a "last-mile execution gap."

Bridging that gap requires more than standalone algorithms. Frost & Sullivan's 2026 Blue Book on the Development of the Global AI Healthcare Industry argues that medical AI is moving from isolated diagnostic tools toward integrated systems that combine data, medical knowledge and clinical workflows. In this model, value lies less in one-off efficiency gains than in redesigning the end-to-end care process and connecting the providers involved.

Ping An Good Doctor (HKEX: 1833), this Hong Kong-listed company is pairing AI models with an on-the-ground service network.

The gap is visible in home-based exercise and rehabilitation. People may know which exercises to do, but without real-time feedback they can perform them incorrectly, reducing their potential benefit or increasing the risk of injury.

A market forecast projects that the global market for AI personal trainers will grow from $16.9 billion in 2025 to $65.7 billion by 2033. In 2024, China's National Health Commission launched the "Weight Management Year" initiative, which is also putting exercise and weight management higher on the public-health agenda.

Ping An Good Doctor recently upgraded its Ping An AI Doctor service, offering Ping An Smart Private Coach. The company describes it as a hybrid solution combining AI guidance with coaching, designed to extend family health management beyond consultation and chronic-disease management to guided, at-home exercise and rehabilitation.

Using technology that tracks 34 points on the body, the service monitors movement and provides real-time feedback in seven categories, including posture correction, chronic-pain rehabilitation, postpartum recovery and Baduanjin, a traditional Chinese qigong exercise. Ping An AI Doctor can connect users to its wider service network, creating a care pathway that spans prevention, consultation, guided exercise and rehabilitation.

Cross-border care presents a similar last-mile problem. Language barriers and unfamiliar hospital procedures can delay care for international visitors and residents.

The launch of Ping An GlobalCare came as China expanded its visa-free entry policies. Ping An Good Doctor unveiled the platform at the Shenzhen Sci-Tech Innovation Exhibition. According to the government, entries by foreign nationals exceeded 60 million in the first eight months of 2026.

Now being piloted in Shenzhen, the platform supports registration with phone numbers issued in 198 countries and regions and includes an AI translation engine tuned for medical terminology in 19 languages.

The platform is designed to go beyond translation through an end-to-end care pathway: online assessment, case coordination and in-person assistance. In one company-reported case, a U.S. user with acute abdominal pain completed an online triage session supported by AI translation. A case coordinator then helped arrange transport and guided him through hospital registration and diagnostic tests; the company says the process was completed within three hours.

In both cases, the AI is not the endpoint but a trigger for a human or physical service.

These offerings are examples of Ping An Good Doctor's broader service model, which it describes as online, in-hospital, at-home and corporate health services. The company also says the AI ecosystem is supported by its proprietary multimodal model, Ping An Medical Master®.

According to Ping An Good Doctor's 2026 Interim Report, its "AI + Physician" collaboration mechanism covers 100% of Ping An Group's retail customers. The report also says that the company's AI business accounted for approximately 4.6% of gross profit in the first half of 2026.

Whether it is Ping An Smart Private Coach, which supports at-home fitness and rehabilitation, or Ping An GlobalCare, which helps users navigate cross-border care, these initiatives are concrete examples of the broader healthcare AI strategy being pursued by Ping An Good Doctor and its parent company, Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China, Ltd.

The strategy is designed to make AI more than a source of medical insight. By connecting patients with doctors, hospitals and support services, it aims to enable a more connected, accessible and continuous care experience.

Your Trusted Partner for Tailored, High-Performance Fiber Optic Solutions for SIs & ISPs.

- Optimizing Digital Infrastructure with F520 DWDM System and DCO transceivers enable massive scalability for backbone transmission and Data Center Interconnect (DCI).

- Driving AI & Data Economy to secure scalable bandwidth for intensive computational workloads utilizing 800G and 400G optical transceivers.

- Empowering ISP Regional Networks by deploying 25G/100G BiDi modules to optimize existing telecommunications infrastructure and accelerate connectivity.

- Advancing Digital Industries: Leveraging XGSPON and 25G-PON solutions to support smart cities, logistics, and Industry 5.0 applications.

SÃO PAULO, Sept. 23, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- FICER Technology, a premier manufacturer of high-performance fiber optic solutions, announces its strategic participation in Futurecom 2026. Aligning with the exhibition's central theme, "Limitless Connectivity. Borderless Innovation," FICER will demonstrate its integrated manufacturing capabilities at São Paulo Expo from October 6 to 8. The future of the digital economy is now. To meet this reality, FICER targets OEM/ODM clients, system integrators (SI), and internet service providers (ISP) across Brazil and South America, delivering the critical optical components required to power modern infrastructure.

Driving AI Workloads and Data Center Interconnect (DCI)

The AI and Data Economy demands unprecedented connectivity, resilience, and data throughput. To support intensive computational tasks, FICER showcases its 800G and 400G core optical transceivers. These high-capacity transceivers serve as fundamental building blocks for high-density server environments. Integrating customized modules elevates hardware performance, allowing regional server manufacturers to secure high-end enterprise orders. Addressing Digital Infrastructure and Cloud challenges, FICER presents the F520 OTN DWDM System alongside Digital Coherent Optics (DCO). These backbone transmission systems provide a high-density foundation for massive data transfer. Utilizing these technologies, data centers can optimize Data Center Interconnect (DCI) frameworks without requiring complete infrastructure overhauls.

Empowering ISP Regional Operation Networks

To support ISP regional operation networks and SI partners, FICER offers 25G/100G single-fiber BiDi (bidirectional) optical modules. By carrying transmit and receive on separate wavelengths over a single strand, BiDi halves the fiber required per link — effectively doubling the usable capacity of an existing fiber plant without new cable construction. The strands released this way can be redeployed to expand backbone transmission and absorb rising traffic across metro and access networks. And where Security, Sovereignty and Regulation requirements apply, BiDi makes it economically viable to keep mission-critical traffic on the operator's own dedicated fiber rather than on shared or leased capacity, supporting data residency and privacy at the physical layer.

Advancing Digital Industries and Edge Connectivity

The digitalization of logistics, and smart cities depends on connectivity reaching further out to the edge. To serve this cross-sector shift, FICER supplies optical modules for XGSPON/25G-PON access networks. Because these technologies build on the existing optical distribution network, operators can lift capacity for IoT-dense applications without laying new fiber, while converging residential broadband, enterprise services, and mobile backhaul onto one fiber plant. Whether the workload is smart logistics tracking or venue-wide connectivity for a live sporting event, FICER delivers the optical layer that keeps industrial digital transformation running.

About FICER Technology

Headquartered in Taiwan, a manufacturer of high-performance fiber optic solutions. Transcending standard brand positioning, FICER maintains robust in-house manufacturing operations. Holding a commanding market share in Taiwan, FICER extends its integrated manufacturing advantages to OEM/ODM clients. Guided by the mission "Fiber First. Cognizant and Cognition put autonomous AI engineering into production at Odyssey Logistics, with a 37 percent net cost saving

Rebuilding Odyssey's transportation management platform from legacy forms into cloud-native software, with Odyssey reporting a 37 percent net cost saving inside a fixed budget and accelerated timeline.

TEANECK, N.J., Sept. 23, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Cognizant (Nasdaq: CTSH) and Cognition announced production results from autonomous AI engineering work at Odyssey Logistics, along with an expanded set of collaborative offerings built on Cognition's AI software engineer, Devin.

Enterprises modernizing their technology estates face a persistent constraint: the work is often well understood, but engineering capacity is scarce and conventional modernization programs can run for a year or more before delivering value. Cognizant and Cognition have worked together since 2024, and entered into an AI engineering collaboration in January 2026 to help address that constraint directly.

Devin, Cognition's AI software engineer, is designed to take on multi-step development tasks – planning, writing and testing code across complex systems – working alongside Cognizant's engineers. Cognizant brings the industry depth, delivery scale and governance that enterprises require before letting agents near the systems that run their business. Cognizant has trained more than 3,000 associates on the Devin platform, and applied to its own engineering work, Devin has cut time to release-ready code by more than 50 percent and accelerated greenfield development five to six times1.

Since then, the two companies have developed a combined set of offerings. These now include a modernization and upgrade offering designed to support and automate most conversion, templating, migration, testing and fixes at scale; a quality engineering offering that embeds Devin to identify test-coverage gaps and assist in generating test cases automatically; and a Frontier AI Cyber Defense offering built on a Devin-based capability.

"Software engineering is changing faster than anything I have seen in my career," said Tarun Kumar, Americas Head, Software Engineering Group, Cognizant. "Autonomous agents change the economics of modernization and what an enterprise can realistically do. As an AI Builder, our work aims to put that capability into the systems businesses depend on every day. What Odyssey is doing is a preview of how enterprise engineering will run."

Odyssey Logistics is a global multimodal logistics provider with a freight network of more than $3B, serving industrial customers with complex transportation and supply chain needs across chemicals, metals, food-grade product and other specialized markets. The company combines managed transportation, modal expertise, technology and executional discipline to help customers move freight safely, efficiently and reliably.

Odyssey is currently working to launch its OdysseyONE platform, intended to support order intake, execution, visibility and lifecycle management across its network. Odyssey set out to consolidate its order intake and full shipment lifecycle onto that platform. The workflow logic behind it sat in legacy Microsoft Access and Visual Basic for Applications forms, which are hard to scale, maintain or integrate, and the original business rules had to survive the migration intact. A fixed budget and a tight delivery window ruled out a conventional rewrite.

A seven-person Cognizant team used Devin to handle the legacy conversion, rebuilding the forms as cloud-native applications and generating tests, deployment pipelines and documentation alongside the code. Every change was reviewed and signed off by a Cognizant technical lead or architect before merging.

Delivery throughput rose by roughly a third and Odyssey recorded a 37 percent net cost saving against the conventional approach. The current phase is live and the program continues.

"Modernization only matters if it changes the business outcome," said Maneet Singh, CIO and CDO, Odyssey Logistics. "For us, this was about moving faster without compromising discipline. Cognizant and Cognition helped us turn a complex legacy rebuild into a practical, governed path to production, with clear accountability around every change. That is the model we are applying more broadly across Odyssey now: use AI where it creates measurable value, keep people in control of the decisions that matter and make technology a driver of business performance, not just an IT project."

Before committing to the re-development, Odyssey tested the approach with Cognizant and Devin on a separate, standalone legacy application. That project closed 21 days after kickoff, and the results gave Odyssey the confidence to apply the same model to its transportation management platform, now in production.

"Our customer Odyssey directly proves the business case for autonomous AI engineering. Enterprises can move faster without giving up quality, and a complex modernization becomes a governed, repeatable path," said Art Levy, VP Global Partnerships, Cognition. "With Devin working alongside the engineering team, the budget and people that would have gone into a year-long rebuild go toward strategic work that drives the business. Together with Cognizant's world class enablement, we make that possible at massive scale."

Cognizant leads the solution and the delivery, powered by Devin, so the client deals with a single accountable partner. Both companies intend to explore extending their collaborative offering set across security remediation, AI assurance, observability-driven application maintenance, legacy modernization and greenfield software development.

CytoSorbents Regains Compliance with Nasdaq Minimum Bid Price Requirement
Image File
Original HTML

PRINCETON, N.J., Sept. 23, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- CytoSorbents Corporation (NASDAQ: CTSO), a leader in the treatment of life-threatening conditions in the intensive care unit and cardiac surgery using blood purification, announces that it has regained compliance with the Nasdaq Stock Market's minimum bid price requirement of $1.00 per share.

On September 22, 2026, CytoSorbents received notification from the Listing Qualifications Department of the Nasdaq Stock Market ("Nasdaq") that it has regained compliance with the minimum bid price requirement in Nasdaq Listing Rule 5550(a)(2) as a result of the closing bid price of CytoSorbents' common stock being $1.00 per share or greater for 10 consecutive trading sessions ending September 21, 2026. Accordingly, Nasdaq has determined that this matter is now closed.

Dr. Phillip Chan, Chief Executive Officer of CytoSorbents stated, "We are pleased to confirm that CytoSorbents has regained compliance with Nasdaq's minimum bid price requirement. In addition, we are working towards full compliance with Nasdaq's Capital Market listing requirements by addressing the minimum Market Value of Listed Securities requirement under Nasdaq Listing Rule 5550(b)(2), or satisfying other alternative options, before the December 28, 2026 compliance date."

"These efforts are among the key priorities we are systematically addressing as we work to strengthen the Company and build greater visibility and confidence among our shareholders. At the same time, we remain intensely focused on executing our core business objectives: driving sales of CytoSorb, achieving operating cash flow breakeven in the second half of this year, advancing DrugSorb-ATR toward FDA regulatory approval, and unlocking the strategic value of assets such as HemoDefend-BGA. We believe continued execution against these priorities will position CytoSorbents for stronger, sustainable growth and long-term shareholder value."

About CytoSorbents Corporation (NASDAQ: CTSO)

CytoSorbents Corporation is a leader in the treatment of life-threatening conditions in the intensive care unit and cardiac surgery through blood purification. CytoSorbents' proprietary blood purification technologies are based on biocompatible, highly porous polymer beads that can actively remove toxic substances from blood and other bodily fluids by pore capture and surface adsorption. Cartridges filled with these beads can be used with standard blood pumps already in the hospital (e.g. dialysis, continuous renal replacement therapy or CRRT, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation or ECMO, and heart-lung machines), where blood is repeatedly recirculated outside the body, through our cartridges where toxic substances are removed, and then back into the body. CytoSorbents' technologies are used in a number of broad applications. Specifically, two important applications are 1) the removal of blood thinners during and after cardiothoracic surgery to reduce the risk of severe bleeding, and 2) the removal of inflammatory agents and toxins in common critical illnesses that can lead to massive inflammation, organ failure and patient death. The breadth of these critical illnesses includes, for example, sepsis, burn injury, trauma, lung injury, liver failure, cytokine release syndrome, and pancreatitis as well as the removal of liver toxins that accumulate in acute liver dysfunction or failure, and the removal of myoglobin in severe rhabdomyolysis that can otherwise lead to renal failure. In these diseases, the risk of death can be extremely high, and there are few, if any, effective treatments.

CytoSorbents' lead product, CytoSorb®, is approved in the European Union and distributed in over 70 countries worldwide, with more than 300,000 devices used cumulatively to date. CytoSorb was originally launched in the European Union under CE mark as the first cytokine adsorber. Additional CE mark extensions were granted for bilirubin and myoglobin removal in clinical conditions such as liver disease and trauma, respectively, and for ticagrelor and rivaroxaban removal in cardiothoracic surgery procedures. CytoSorb has also received FDA Emergency Use Authorization in the United States for use in adult critically ill COVID-19 patients with impending or confirmed respiratory failure. CytoSorb is not yet approved or cleared in the United States.

In the U.S. and Canada, CytoSorbents is developing the DrugSorb™-ATR antithrombotic removal system, an investigational device based on an equivalent polymer technology to CytoSorb, to reduce the severity of perioperative bleeding in high-risk surgery due to blood thinning drugs. It has received two FDA Breakthrough Device Designations: one for the removal of ticagrelor and another for the removal of the direct oral anticoagulants (DOAC) apixaban and rivaroxaban in a cardiopulmonary bypass circuit during urgent cardiothoracic surgery. The Company is actively pursuing regulatory approval of DrugSorb-ATR with the U.S. FDA and will pursue regulatory approval with Health Canada with better visibility from the FDA. DrugSorb-ATR is not yet granted or approved in either the U.S. or Canada.

The Company has numerous marketed products and products under development based upon this unique blood purification technology protected by many issued U.S. and international patents and registered trademarks, and multiple patent applications pending, including ECOS-300CY®, CytoSorb-XL™, HemoDefend-RBC™, HemoDefend-BGA™, VetResQ®, K+ontrol™, DrugSorb™, ContrastSorb, PuriFi®, HotSwap®, and others. Randomized, blinded, sham-controlled pivotal trial demonstrates clinically meaningful improvements in quality of life and COPD symptoms, with a 38.4% relative reduction in severe exacerbation rates

BOSTON, Sept. 23, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- CSA Medical, Inc., a medical device company focused on interventional pulmonary therapies, today announced the publication in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine (AJRCCM) of results from SPRAY-CB (NCT03893370), the pivotal randomized, blinded, sham-controlled trial evaluating Metered CryoSpray™ (MCS) therapy with the RejuvenAir® System in patients with moderate-to-severe COPD and symptomatic chronic bronchitis.

SPRAY-CB randomized 210 patients with moderate-to-severe COPD and symptomatic chronic bronchitis in the United States and United Kingdom. Patients remained highly symptomatic despite optimal medical therapy.

The trial met its primary effectiveness endpoint. At 12 months, MCS-treated patients demonstrated a 5.9-point greater improvement in St. George's Respiratory Questionnaire (SGRQ) score compared with control (p=0.0422), exceeding the established 4-point threshold for a clinically meaningful treatment benefit. MCS-treated patients also demonstrated a 3.4-point greater improvement in COPD Assessment Test (CAT) score compared with control (p=0.005), exceeding the established 2-point threshold. Between-group differences on both validated measures were statistically significant and exceeded established thresholds for clinically meaningful improvement.

Importantly, MCS treatment was also associated with fewer severe COPD exacerbations—serious clinical events that can require emergency department care or hospitalization and are a major driver of disease burden in patients with COPD. In a supportive analysis of severe exacerbations occurring more than 30 days following treatment, MCS-treated patients experienced a 38.4% relative reduction in the incidence rate of severe exacerbations compared with control.

"Patients enrolled in SPRAY-CB remained highly symptomatic despite receiving optimal medical therapy, underscoring the significant unmet need in chronic bronchitis," said Gerard J. Criner, MD, Chair and Professor of Thoracic Medicine and Surgery at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and lead author of the study. "In this rigorous randomized, sham-controlled trial, Metered CryoSpray demonstrated clinically meaningful improvements in quality of life and overall COPD symptoms through 12 months. The findings, together with the lower incidence of severe COPD exacerbations observed with MCS, support the potential for a bronchoscopic therapy that directly targets the airways affected by chronic bronchitis to provide an important new treatment option for these patients."

"The publication of the SPRAY-CB results represents the culmination of more than a decade of research, development and clinical investigation of RejuvenAir," said Wendelin Maners, President and CEO of CSA Medical. "These pivotal results support the potential for RejuvenAir to become the first interventional therapy developed specifically for chronic bronchitis and to establish an entirely new category of treatment for these patients."

The clinical benefits observed with MCS were achieved with an acceptable procedural safety profile. The principal procedural risk was pneumothorax, occurring in 3.6% of MCS procedures. All pneumothoraces resolved, none occurred after discharge, and there were no device- or procedure-related deaths or unanticipated adverse device effects.

RejuvenAir represents a new interventional approach to chronic bronchitis: a minimally invasive bronchoscopic therapy designed to directly target the airways affected by the disease rather than relying solely on medications to manage symptoms. RejuvenAir delivers precisely metered doses of medical-grade liquid nitrogen to the airway lining, enabling a nonscarring healing response intended to restore healthier airway epithelium and improve mucociliary function.

About RejuvenAir

The RejuvenAir System is a medical device therapy designed to address chronic cough and dysfunctional production and clearance of mucus associated with chronic bronchitis. Metered CryoSpray therapy ablates damaged airway epithelium, enabling a rejuvenative healing response. RejuvenAir received FDA Breakthrough Device Designation, reflecting its potential to provide meaningful advantages over existing medical therapies for a large and underserved patient population. The RejuvenAir System is currently under FDA review and is not commercially available in the United States.

About COPD with Chronic Bronchitis

Chronic bronchitis is a major disease phenotype of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and is characterized by chronic productive cough, mucus hypersecretion and impaired mucus clearance. Patients with chronic bronchitis can experience substantial symptom burden, recurrent exacerbations and impaired quality of life despite optimized medical therapy. In the United States, there are an estimated 16 million people with COPD, of whom more than 9 million have been estimated to have chronic bronchitis.

About CSA Medical

CSA Medical is focused on developing interventional pulmonary therapies that address significant unmet needs in patients with COPD and chronic bronchitis. The Company is advancing its core liquid nitrogen spray technology, RejuvenAir, to target abnormal airway epithelium associated with chronic cough, mucus hypersecretion and impaired mucus clearance. By selectively ablating damaged airway tissue without creating scar tissue, Metered CryoSpray is designed to enable regrowth of healthier, normally functioning airway epithelium.

Blue Moon Acquires the Turner Copper-Gold VMS Deposit to Further Advance its Western U.S. Critical Mineral Hub and Spoke Model
Image File
Original HTML

Christian Kargl-Simard, CEO of Blue Moon states: "Through our screening of Western US critical metals projects, Turner clearly met our spoke requirements with potential scale, timeline and logistics to our Springer hub. There is a clear synergy with the Blue Moon Mine to unlock with nearby rail infrastructure. Turner has seen limited exploration, with the potential for a VMS camp, along with unquantified cobalt potential. We plan to aggressively explore and develop Turner with establishment of an exploration drive into the deposit including both surface and underground drilling to support metallurgical work as soon as possible."

The Company believes that material that is extracted from Turner and the Blue Moon Mine may allow for comingling, or at least, use a similar flotation mill to produce both copper and zinc concentrates with strong precious metals credits. Additional metallurgical and engineering-related studies are required to verify if comingling is possible before it can be integrated into any future engineering report. These studies will be initiated to develop a PEA that is expected to incorporate the Blue Moon Mine and Turner with a new 1,800 tpd mill at the Company's Springer complex in Nevada. It is expected that the extracted material from both projects will be transported primarily by rail (Figure 1), however, transportation studies are required to demonstrate viability. The Company is targeting to complete these studies by the end of 2027. In the meantime, Blue Moon will initiate permitting for exploration drilling and underground development at Turner, which is expected to take 12 to 18 months. It should be noted that the Company undertook a similar permitting methodology for the Blue Moon Mine in California. For Turner, it will be assumed that there is no processing of extracted material in Oregon.

Turner (Copper – Gold – Zinc – Silver – Cobalt)

Turner is a Cyprus-type, VMS deposit that is located approximately 40 miles southwest of Grants Pass, Oregon near the border with California. The deposit can be potentially exploited by underground mining methods, and the project is contained within three patented mining claims, which total approximately 60 acres. An additional 574 acres of contiguous private land is also part of this transaction, as well as 15 unpatented lode mining claims.

The sulphide mineralization that comprises the deposit is hosted within primitive, ophiolitic volcanic rocks associated with sea floor volcanism in an extensional tectonic setting. Turner deposit has three distinct zones of sulphide mineralization: UHZ, MUZ, and MLZ; which are semi-tabular, stacked bodies that strike 130 degrees (southeast) and dip 35 degrees to the northeast. The known strike length of the sulphide mineralization is approximately 1000 to 1500 ft (305 to 457 metres) with a down dip extent of about 800 to 1000 ft (244 to 305 metres). The geologic continuity of the sulphide mineralization at Turner is well established through core drilling and 3D modeling of geology and structure.

In the May 17, 2010, historical PEA completed to NI 43-101 standards titled "Turner Gold Resource and Preliminary Economic Assessment" (prepared by: J.M. Marek, P.E.; B.W. Buck, R.P.G; M.D. Strickler, P.E.; S. Annavarapu, P.E.; and J.J. Moore, P.E.), there is a mineral resource estimate of 2.447 million tons of Indicated category material grading 1.25% copper, 2.79 g/t gold, 2.65% zinc, 9.64 g/t silver, and 0.05% cobalt, and 2.084 million tons of Inferred category material grading 0.99%, 2.73 g/t gold, 2.78% zinc, 19.91 g/t silver and 0.04% cobalt. The Company intends to disclose the mineral resource estimate ("MRE"), both Indicated and Inferred categories, as a historical MRE for Turner within the meaning of National Instrument 43-101 Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects ("NI 43-101") adopted by the CIM Council on May 19, 2014. It should be noted that the non-Independent Qualified Person for the Company has not done sufficient work to verify and validate the historical MRE, meaning the Company is not treating the historical MRE as current.

Modeling for the historical MRE was developed based on exploration drilling that was completed by previous operators and it is supported by information provided from 84 drill holes, totaling 19,542 feet, completed between 1957 and 1989. The historical, 2010 NI 43-101 MRE on the project is outlined below in Table 1.

The Company believes verification of the historical mineral resource estimate is required but existing modeling provides a starting point from which to start developing the confidence in the historical mineral resource estimate. Regardless, the favorable volcanic strata hosting Turner are characterized by a precious metal enriched depositional environment that makes Turner different than many similar deposits in its peer group. As such, former operators have published some exceptional drilling results from Turner over the years, some of which are shown on a drill plan map and drill section in Figure 2 and presented in more detail in Table 2.

Table 1: Historical NI 43-101 Mineral Resource Estimate (2010)

The Company's non-Independent Qualified Person believes Turner will require, among other things: (i) additional exploration diamond drilling on the MRE and data collection including assays and lithogeochemistry; (ii) further detailed 3D modelling on mineralization controls of the deposit geological and structural settings to support future MRE updates; (iii) continued metallurgical studies for base and precious metal recovery factors, as well as ore sorting work programs; and (iv) studies to scope any future potential for underground extraction through determining optimal cut-off grades, appropriate mining methods, and necessary ground support plans. However, the non-Independent Qualified Person believes the historical MRE to be reliable and relevant to informing the advancement of future exploration targeting and infill definition drilling on Turner, since the deposit is open at depth and along strike. Insufficient work has been done to properly quantify the true exploration potential of geological host rocks around Turner.

In terms of metallurgical studies outlined in the historical 2010 PEA, it was shown that the sulphide mineralization was amenable to conventional flotation, yielding three products: 1) a copper concentrate, 2) a zinc concentrate, and 3) a gold concentrate. No metallurgical studies have been completed in respect to cobalt, albeit analyzed extensively in the drill hole database, meaning there is an opportunity for the Company requiring additional testwork.

Table 2: Select Historical Drill Hole Results from Turner

Transaction Terms

Blue Moon is acquiring 100% of Turner, consisting of approximately 634 acres of private land and 15 unpatented claims, subject to an existing 1.5% NSR royalty, clear of all other encumbrances for the following consideration:

No off-takes or streams have been sold on the project. Key conditions precedent to completion of the Transaction are TSX-V approval and other items customary to an asset sale transaction. A negotiated definitive agreement has been executed by the Seller and Blue Moon on September 22, 2026, and completion is expected to occur in November 2026. This is an arms-length Transaction and no finders' fees are being paid.

Grant of Stock Options, RSUs and DSUs

The Company has granted a total of 50,000 incentive stock options under the Company's share compensation plan to a consultant of the Company. The stock options have an exercise price of C$8.10 per stock option and are exercisable for a period of five years from the date of grant. The stock options vest over three years with a third vesting every year and are governed by the terms and conditions of the Company's stock option plan.

The Company has also awarded a total of 993,146 restricted share units ("RSUs") under the Company's share compensation plan to officers and employees of the Company. The RSUs will vest annually over a two-year period from the award date. The Company also granted a total of 268,586 deferred share units ("DSUs") under the Company's share compensation plan to the independent directors of the Company. The DSUs will vest upon the later of the 12 months from the grant date and the directors' departure from the Company.

Qualified Persons

For the purposes of this news release, Jason Dunning, M.Sc., P.Geo., the Company's General Manager Special Projects, is the designated non-Independent Qualified Person in accordance with NI 43-101, and he has reviewed and approved both the technical and scientific information of this news release.
