Climbing Mount Soledad: Many Roads, One Summit

By Attorney Allen Leisorek, Gomez Trial Attorneys

SAN DIEGO, Sept. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Mount Soledad has become one of my favorite rides in San Diego, and it is not just because of the climb itself. What makes it special is what waits at the top and how many different ways there are to get there.

The mountain offers several distinct routes to the summit, each with its own character. Some approaches are short and punishing, with steep pitches that test your legs early. Others wind longer through residential streets, giving you a more gradual but sustained effort. Regardless of which road you choose, every route converges at the same place, and that shared destination is part of what makes Mount Soledad worth returning to again and again. Riders can pick the challenge that suits their fitness or mood that day and still end up standing in front of the same summit.

That summit is home to the Mount Soledad Veterans Memorial, and at its center stands a large white cross, rising nearly 30 feet above the site and visible from much of the city below. An American flag flies beside it. For me, the cross is the heart of the climb. There is something about arriving at it on a bike, legs burning and breath short, that turns the last few pedal strokes into something closer to a pilgrimage than a workout. It has stood on that hilltop in one form or another for close to a century, a fixed point of faith overlooking a constantly changing city, and reaching it never feels routine no matter how many times I have made the ride.

Surrounding the cross are walls lined with plaques bearing the names, photographs, and service histories of veterans, spanning every branch of the military and generations of American conflicts. Standing at the foot of the cross and reading through those names, it is hard not to feel the weight of what the site is asking you to hold together: faith, sacrifice, and country, all in the same place. The cross does not stand apart from the memorial around it. It stands over it, as if watching over the men and women whose service is recorded on the walls below.

I will admit that part of what draws me back is personal. Finishing a hard climb is its own reward but finishing at the top of Mount Soledad adds something a workout alone cannot. It is a few minutes to be still, to think about faith and gratitude and the people being honored there, before turning the bike around and heading back down the mountain.

The views only add to the experience. From the summit, you get a nearly 360-degree perspective of the city: the Pacific Ocean to the west, La Jolla and the coastline stretching north and south, and the inland valleys and mountains to the east. On a clear day, it is one of the best vantage points in the region, and it makes the effort of the climb feel entirely worth it.

For anyone in San Diego looking for a ride that offers more than exercise, Mount Soledad is worth the trip. Pick a route, put in the work, and take a few minutes at the top before heading back down. Between the cross, the memorial, and the view, it is a climb that stays with you.

North Announces Partnership with Webflow to Launch Native Embedded Checkout for Enterprise eCommerce Web Development
Image File
Original HTML

New marketplace integration drops payment infrastructure directly into the Webflow canvas, ending external domain redirects, maximizing merchant conversions, and unlocking new possibilities for organizations leveraging Webflow.

TROY, Mich., Sept. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- North, a U.S.-based leader in fintech and payment solutions processing over $100 billion in annual transaction volume, today announced a partnership with Webflow, the agentic web marketing platform trusted by companies like Dropbox, Orangetheory Fitness, and Docusign. The collaboration marks the official launch of Embedded Checkout by North, available immediately in the Webflow Marketplace. This breakthrough ecommerce engine embeds natively inside the visual design environment, dismantling legacy conversion bottlenecks by removing the requirement for off-site payment redirection.

As visual web design has grown to handle advanced business applications, web studios and developers building high-ticket service sites, custom client areas, or invoicing portals have faced a frustrating compromise. To handle the full customer journey, creators had to patch together an expensive, messy stack: web software for the frontend design, extra plugins for custom data logic, and external checkout links to handle the final payment loop.

"Enterprise web development demands absolute authority over the user journey, yet payment ecosystems have historically hijacked traffic right at the moment of conversion," said Bryan Long, Senior Director of Product Management at North. "By formally partnering with Webflow, we are putting payment processing infrastructure directly into the designer's canvas. This native integration ensures that advanced web stacks work cleanly together without structural compromises, allowing businesses to maximize their checkout completion velocity while keeping their digital experiences completely unfragmented."

Streamlined Boarding and Bank-Grade Security

Bypassing the sudden funding holds and compliance vulnerabilities common among aggregate payment facilitators, North brings direct, domestic processing stability to the ecosystem via its owned payment processor, Electronic Payment Exchange (EPX). This gives high-ticket professional services and enterprise B2B merchants charging premium fees the ability to secure comprehensive underwriting clearing upfront before executing their first live launch.

The Webflow Marketplace integration features:

- One-Click Mobile Wallets: Native, borderless rendering of digital payment containers—including Apple Pay® and Google Pay™—optimized directly for mobile viewport layouts.

- Reduction in PCI Burden: By leveraging North's secure, single-token architecture, sensitive credit card numbers and data never touch or pass through the merchant's or Webflow's internal servers, keeping technical infrastructure out of scope for complex PCI compliance audits.

- Programmatic Webhook Status: Agencies gain real-time, transparent insight into the entire merchant boarding.

Monetizing the Webflow Creative Ecosystem

In addition to technical alignment, the partnership establishes an entirely new commercial reward structure for digital builders. By standardizing their custom application blueprints on the North Embedded Checkout engine, web development agencies—known as Webflow Partners in the Webflow ecosystem—can eliminate the ongoing technical overhead of maintaining disjointed payment scripts. More importantly, it creates a new revenue stream for agencies. These agencies register as official sales partners under North's global ecosystem umbrella, instantly activating an aggressive, recurring revenue stream from every processed transaction engine they deploy.

"We are thrilled to welcome North Payments to the Webflow App Marketplace," said Greg Kelly, Director, Technology Partnerships. "Partnering with North lets our customers easily access enterprise grade payment infrastructure without fragmenting the web experiences they're building in Webflow. Excited to see what our joint customers build with this new integration!"

EDEN RADIOISOTOPES ADVANCES $1.4 BILLION NEW MEXICO MEDICAL ISOTOPE PROJECT

State support, selection of Kiewit Nuclear Solutions Co. and continued partnership with Sargent & Lundy mark major steps toward development of first-of-its-kind U.S. medical isotope production facility

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., Sept. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Eden Radioisotopes today announced significant progress toward development of its planned medical isotope production facility in Lea County, New Mexico, including support from the State of New Mexico and the selection of key partners to advance engineering, licensing and construction of the project.

Economic Development New Mexico announced that the state will support Eden's planned investment of up to $1.4 billion through the Job Training Incentive Program, high-wage and rural job tax credits, and LEDA GRT Share. The project is expected to create 205 jobs statewide and generate more than $1.5 billion in economic impact over 10 years.

Eden has also selected Kiewit Nuclear Solutions Co. [Kiewit] as its nuclear engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) partner to support the project. Sargent & Lundy, which has worked with Eden throughout development of the facility, will continue supporting the project with architecture, engineering and regulatory services.

Together, these milestones represent another significant step toward construction of what is planned to be North America's first purpose-built medical isotope production reactor and processing facility.

"This is about turning an ambitious idea into critical American infrastructure," said Carrie Freeman, CEO of Eden Radioisotopes. "The State of New Mexico understands both the economic opportunity and the national importance of what we are building. And with Kiewit and Sargent & Lundy, we are assembling the experienced team needed to move this project from development through construction and into operation."

More than 40,000 medical procedures performed every day in the United States rely on medical isotopes, yet the country remains dependent on aging reactors and overseas producers for much of its supply. Because many medical isotopes decay rapidly and cannot be stockpiled, interruptions in production or transportation can quickly affect hospitals, physicians and patients.

Eden is developing a domestic source of medical isotopes designed specifically to address that vulnerability. Its Lea County facility will produce isotopes used in diagnostic imaging and targeted cancer treatment, strengthening the reliability and resilience of the U.S. medical isotope supply chain.

The project also builds on New Mexico's decades-long leadership in nuclear science and technology. Eden's reactor technology is based on research developed at Sandia National Laboratories, while the state's universities and technical workforce provide an important foundation for development of a new generation of nuclear professionals.

"New Mexico has the scientific heritage, workforce and nuclear expertise to help solve a problem that affects patients throughout the country," Freeman said. "State support and the addition of Kiewit to a team that already includes Sargent & Lundy demonstrate that Eden is building the partnerships necessary to make domestic medical isotope production a reality."

Eden filed its Construction Permit Application in May with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission and anticipates a formal NRC decision in mid-2027. The company expects to be commercially operational in 2030.

About Eden Radioisotopes

Eden Radioisotopes is developing a purpose-built medical isotope production reactor and processing facility in Lea County, New Mexico, designed to strengthen the domestic supply of critical isotopes used in diagnostic imaging and cancer treatment. Eden's technology is based on research developed at Sandia National Laboratories and is designed to provide reliable, large-scale U.S. production of medical isotopes currently dependent on fragile international supply chains.

Voters Want Leaders to Plan Ahead as the State Grows

New Arizona Voters' Agenda findings show strong support for long-term action on water, energy, extreme heat and infrastructure

PHOENIX, Sept. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- New statewide, nonpartisan public opinion research from Center for the Future of Arizona (CFA) finds Arizona voters want leaders to plan ahead for the water, energy, and infrastructure needed to sustain continued growth, economic opportunity, and quality of life. Many voters question whether the state's systems will keep pace with future demands. At the same time, strong majorities support long-term action on water, view reliable and affordable energy as essential, support investments to address extreme heat, and say growing industries should share the additional infrastructure costs their growth creates.

The latest findings from the 2026 Arizona Voters' Agenda show that voters want the state to plan for the long term, address challenges before they limit opportunity, and make choices today that support the future Arizona wants. Voters want reliable water and energy, communities and infrastructure able to meet the demands of increasingly extreme heat, and growth that does not place its additional infrastructure costs solely on existing ratepayers.

"Arizona voters expect leaders to make the choices today that will allow water, energy, and infrastructure to keep pace with growth and help communities meet the demands of extreme heat," said Dr. Sybil Francis, Chair, President & CEO of CFA. "Leaders need to explain how they will act on these priorities, sustain Arizona's success, and build a strong future for generations to come."

Water Is Central to Arizona's Long-Term Growth

Arizona voters recognize that a secure water future is essential to continued economic opportunity, strong communities, and quality of life, and they expect the state to plan for both water and growth over the long term.

Voters are open to solutions and strongly support action to secure Arizona's water future.

- 93% agree elected leaders must make long-term investments to secure Arizona's water future, including dedicating more state funding to water. Agreement includes 90% of Republicans, 91% of independent and unaffiliated voters, and 97% of Democrats.

- 89% agree Arizona needs to add to its water supply through strategies such as finding other water sources, investing in desalination, and recycling wastewater. Agreement includes 87% of Republicans, 86% of independent and unaffiliated voters, and 96% of Democrats.

Trimble Accelerates Transportation Modernization with Autonomous AI and Agent-Ready Platforms at 2026 Insight Conference

Annual industry event unveils voice AI, route and trailer orchestration, automated shop maintenance and agent-ready TMS platforms designed to put time back in the hands of fleets

SAN DIEGO, Sept. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Trimble kicked off its 2026 Trimble Insight Conference as CEO Rob Painter and Transportation & Logistics sector VP Michael Kornhauser presented a strategy to help fleets pair operational experience with AI execution to better adapt to market volatility and reclaim lost time.

"Navigating today's volatile market requires clarity, resilience and the willingness to adapt," said Painter. "Intelligent technology is only as powerful as the network supporting it, which is why we're pairing autonomous AI with operational context so our customers have the tools to keep moving forward."

"Our mission is to bring innovation directly into customer workflows without forcing disruptive platform overhauls," said Kornhauser. "Whether modernizing core systems like Trimble® TruckMate® software or delivering route-planning autonomy with Appian, it comes down to a simple value equation — turning human context and AI into value for our customers."

Highlighting the Trimble NEXT Showcase — a suite of nearly 20 new features and enhancements — Painter and Kornhauser unveiled key solutions including Trimble CoPilot® Driver Assistant, Route Orchestration for Trimble PC*Miler® routing software, Appian Fleet Assistant with autonomous planning, upgraded TMT AI Invoice Scanning, Trimble Dock & Yard Advanced Trailer Orchestration, agent-ready Carrier TMS modernizations and Trimble Arc Agent.

Mapping & Navigation Innovation

Trimble enhanced its mapping and navigation portfolio with next-generation automation and voice-activated AI. CoPilot Driver Assistant provides hands-free, natural-language in-cab navigation to locate fuel, parking and manage HOS limits. Trimble Route Orchestration for PC*Miler unifies planning, execution, visibility and settlement into a single workflow — balancing safety, tolls and delivery constraints — to optimize outcomes across the entire route lifecycle. For private fleets, Appian Fleet Assistant with autonomous planning acts as a virtual dispatcher, capturing operational rules to generate multi-stop route plans in seconds.

Fleet Maintenance AI Upgrades

Major upgrades to TMT Fleet Maintenance AI Invoice Scanning leverage advanced vision models to batch-process up to 100 vendor PDF invoices at once — saving more than 136,000 minutes across 19,500 invoices using AI as compared to manual data entry. By automating data entry and mapping repairs to VMRS codes, shop teams can eliminate repetitive paperwork, get trucks off shop bays and return assets to the road faster.

Trimble Dock & Yard: Advanced Trailer Orchestration

Trimble enhanced its Trimble Dock & Yard offering with Advanced Trailer Orchestration to eliminate "black box" blind spots between the road and the facility. The solution connects appointment planning, live arrival visibility and carrier collaboration into a single shared record for every trailer — from gate to dock. With features like Time Slot Management and a Carrier Yard Visit Portal, it automatically syncs shifting ETAs so teams can reduce detention costs and act before disruptions cause delay.

Carrier TMS Modernization

Trimble announced browser-based, AI agent-ready modernizations directly to its core Carrier TMS platforms — TMW.Suite, TruckMate, Innovative and Fuel Dispatch. Cloud-hosted architectures preserve decades of operational logic while providing cleaner, browser-accessible interfaces that enable seamless collaboration between people and AI agents. The keynote also highlighted Trimble TMS, its native cloud solution built specifically for growing North American full-truckload carriers and small and medium enterprises.

Trimble Arc Agent

First launched in August, Trimble Arc Agent is an AI digital colleague that automates repetitive, multi-step operational tasks through one conversational interface. Arc Agent automates core workflows — such as Order Entry, Contract Intake and the all-new Intelligent RFQ Builder skill — and offers custom skill-building to digitize complex processes like payroll reconciliation. Built for transportation and logistics, Arc executes repetitive administrative tasks while keeping fleet teams in full control with final approval.

Annual Car & Bike Show Brings the Community Together to Support Local Causes

CORONA, Calif., Sept. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- For the past 10 years, Boudreau Pipeline Corporation has brought together automotive enthusiasts, local businesses, and families to celebrate community and give back through its annual Charity Car & Bike Show. This year, the company will host its 10th Annual Charity Car & Bike Show on Saturday, October 3, 2026, supporting two local organizations, the California Homebuilding Foundation's Building Industry Technology Academy (BITA) Program and Leaps and Bounds.

The event will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Boudreau Pipeline Corporation's headquarters, located at 463 N. Smith Avenue in Corona, California. Proceeds from the event will benefit Leaps & Bounds Pediatric Therapy in Norco and the California Homebuilding Foundation, with 100% of proceeds designated to support the two selected charities.

Over the past decade, Boudreau Pipeline Corporation's charity car and bike show has grown into a community event that brings people together through a shared passion for cars, motorcycles, family activities, and supporting local organizations. The annual event reflects the company's commitment to making a positive difference in the communities it serves while providing a fun, family-friendly experience for attendees.

"We are grateful to Boudreau Pipeline Corporation for selecting the California Homebuilding Foundation as a beneficiary of this milestone 10th annual event," said Jill Herman, Executive Director of the California Homebuilding Foundation. "Boudreau has built something special by bringing the community together year after year and using this event to support local organizations. Their commitment to giving back creates opportunities for students through our BITA program, and we are enormously grateful for their investment in the next generation of construction professionals."

Supporting the Next Generation of Industry Professionals

The California Homebuilding Foundation's Building Industry Technology Academy (BITA) Program provides hands-on construction education to high school students across California. The program introduces students to construction skills and career opportunities, helping them explore pathways into the homebuilding industry and skilled trades.

Support from Boudreau Pipeline Corporation's charity event will help advance educational opportunities for students interested in pursuing careers in construction and the homebuilding industry through OSHA 10 training, scholarships, and work-ready grants to purchase tools and boots as they step onto the jobsite.

Patriot Dynamic Systems Launches Adaptive Kinetics: Bolt-On Active Suspension for Heavy-Duty Trucks

The truck suspension self-levels to 33 degrees, delivers 20-plus inches of travel and 44 inches of articulation, and carries a 10-year, 1,000,000-mile warranty.

PONDERAY, Idaho, Sept. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Patriot Dynamic Systems (PDS) today announced Adaptive Kinetics, a bolt-on active suspension for three-quarter-ton through Class 5 heavy-duty trucks. It ends the leaf-spring ride without cutting, welding, or modifying the frame.

Built in a chassis shop. PDS is owned by engineers and builds Patriot Chassis replacement frames in Ponderay, Idaho — complete builds fetching more than $200,000. Those frames needed a suspension to match, so co-founder Jason Johnson built one and tested it nine years on the Purcell Trench Ranch proving ground in the Idaho backcountry: 220,000 miles under load, off-trail, zero failures.

Two suspensions in one. Loaded, Adaptive Kinetics runs a progressive rate like a leaf spring: tows and hauls without squat or sway. Unloaded, it runs a linear rate like a coilover. It self-levels to 33 degrees, delivers more than 20 inches of wheel travel and 44 inches of articulation, and sets ride height from stock to 16 inches of lift from the cab. The active system reads the road at 1,000 Hz with automatic sway control and speed-based ride height.

Passive to fully active. The base system is four passive shocks and the four-link; add the active system for four-wheel active damping and leveling. Active systems offer double or triple redundancy — the only triple-redundant truck suspension available — on a closedloop pneumatic circuit that never draws moisture or dust.

Diamond-Like Carbon, standard. Every nitrided shock shaft is DLC-coated — a fraction the friction of chrome — for the softest highway ride in active suspension. Equipment, not a modification. Installation is a 20-to-24-hour bolt-on. The truck returns to stock for lease return or resale; the system moves to the owner's next truck.

Warranty: Shocks carry a 10-year, 1,000,000-mile warranty; all other components, three years.*

Availability. Ford and Ram applications are open for order now; first deliveries begin now. GM applications arrive December 2026. Buy what you need now and build over time, or get a discounted full-package quote.
