Mold Remediation Experts Ted and Donna Borys Explain the Difference Between Mold Inspection and Mold Testing in HelloNation

The article explains how inspections and testing serve different roles when mold growth or moisture concerns are suspected.

COLUMBIA, S.C., Oct. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- What is the difference between mold inspection and mold testing? The answer is provided in a HelloNation article featuring insights from Mold Remediation Experts Ted and Donna Borys of Biotek Environmental in Columbia, South Carolina, explaining how each service helps property owners understand possible mold concerns.

The article explains that many property owners use mold inspection and mold testing as if they mean the same thing. While both may be useful, they serve different purposes when addressing suspected contamination, water damage, or indoor air quality concerns.

A mold inspection focuses on identifying signs of mold growth, moisture problems, and conditions that may support contamination. The article notes that a trained professional looks for visible mold, water intrusion, elevated humidity, and hidden moisture. This process helps determine whether the property has conditions that could lead to mold-related issues.

The article emphasizes that mold growth is usually tied to a moisture source. Without moisture, mold cannot continue growing. For this reason, a mold inspection often focuses on locating plumbing leaks, roof leaks, condensation, water intrusion, or other moisture problems that may be affecting building materials.

Mold testing has a different purpose. The article explains that mold testing involves collecting samples to gather more information about the indoor environment. These samples may come from air, surfaces, or building materials and are analyzed to identify mold types, concentrations, or patterns.

According to the article, a mold inspection may provide enough information in many situations. If visible mold growth is present and the moisture source is clear, the next step may be correcting the moisture problem and addressing affected materials. In those cases, mold testing may not always be necessary.

There are also situations where mold testing can provide helpful added information. The article notes that testing may be requested when indoor air quality is a concern, contamination is suspected but not visible, or documentation is needed before or after remediation. Mold Remediation Experts Ted and Donna Borys explain in the article that testing is often most useful when paired with a complete inspection.

The article also addresses a common misunderstanding about mold testing. Testing results offer a snapshot of conditions at the time samples are collected. Without information from a mold inspection, those results may not explain the full scope of the problem or identify the moisture source behind it.

Hidden moisture is another key concern discussed in the article. Mold-related issues often develop inside wall cavities, crawl spaces, attics, or under flooring where they are not immediately visible. A professional inspection may use moisture detection tools to locate hidden moisture that mold testing alone may not reveal.

The article explains that property owners often assume mold testing should always be the first step. However, starting with a mold inspection can be more useful because it focuses on the root causes of contamination. Once moisture conditions and visible concerns are documented, testing can be considered if it will add meaningful information.

The article concludes that mold inspection and mold testing each have a distinct role. A mold inspection evaluates the property, identifies water intrusion and hidden moisture, and investigates conditions that support mold growth. Mold testing collects environmental samples that may supplement those findings when needed.

Mold Inspection vs. Mold Testing features insights from Ted and Donna Borys, Mold Remediation Experts of Columbia, South Carolina, in HelloNation.

Atomicwork Taps Former Moveworks and Sedai Marketing Leader to Lead Global Marketing

Oksana Patel joins Atomicwork as Head of Marketing to bring its AI workforce story to enterprise IT leaders worldwide

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Atomicwork, the ITSM & ESM platform building an AI workforce for IT teams, today announced the appointment of Oksana Patel as Head of Marketing. Patel will lead Atomicwork's global marketing strategy as the company expands its enterprise presence and builds the category around AI coworkers that can take on IT roles and workflows end to end.

This comes on the heels of significant momentum for Atomicwork. In the last year, the company has tripled its customer base to include a number of high-growth and enterprise companies, including Replit, Skydio, BlackLine, and Members Choice Credit Union.

"We're asking enterprise IT teams to trust AI with real work, not just give employees another assistant," said Vijay Rayapati, co-founder and CEO of Atomicwork. "Oksana helped take AI into the enterprise at Moveworks and autonomy into the cloud at Sedai. She knows what it takes to make a new idea credible with technical buyers, and that's exactly what we need as we build the AI workforce category."

At Moveworks, Patel established the demand generation function and helped build pipeline as the company brought AI-powered employee support into large enterprises. Before Moveworks, she ran integrated marketing at Symantec after joining through its acquisition of mobile security company Skycure, where she led demand generation.

Most recently, Patel served as Vice President of Marketing at Sedai, where she built the go-to-market story for autonomous cloud management. The role centered on a challenge that has become increasingly important across enterprise AI: showing technical buyers when they can trust software to move beyond recommending an action and actually take it.

That experience comes as Atomicwork makes a similar case for enterprise IT. Rather than adding an AI interface on top of a traditional ticketing system, Atomicwork is building AI coworkers that can take responsibility for IT work, from understanding an employee's request through resolving it across enterprise systems.

"Enterprise IT doesn't need another AI assistant sitting on top of a ticket queue," said Patel. "Atomicwork is giving AI coworkers responsibility for real work, with customers going live in weeks and AI handling the majority of requests from day one. That's a much bigger idea, and the results are already there to back it up."

About Atomicwork

Atomicwork is an AI-native ITSM and ESM platform that comes with an AI Workforce to run it — purpose-built for companies scaling through intelligence, not just headcount. Its governed AI Coworkers run access management, incident response, onboarding, and other enterprise service delivery initiatives end-to-end. From AI-native scaleups to global enterprises, organizations of all shapes and sizes run on Atomicwork. The company is headquartered in Palo Alto, CA, and backed by leading investors including Khosla Ventures, Battery Ventures and Peak XV.

Never miss a turn with lane-level guidance showing surrounding vehicles and road context in an integrated, live 3D map view.

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Mapbox today announced that its Mapbox 3D Live Navigation feature powers BMW Maps with driver assistance in Neue Klasse vehicles from BMW Group. In a market first, this navigation experience combines lane-level navigation and live detections from the vehicle's advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) into the map itself, showing turn-by-turn directions in context with the road, surrounding vehicles, and 3D buildings.

Mapbox designed the system to be the easiest for drivers to follow, so they never miss a turn. With Mapbox 3D Live Navigation, drivers simply follow the Mapbox Magic Carpet, a lane-level path that highlights the route.

Traditional in-car systems are not capable of integrating route guidance with information about the vehicle and its surroundings. Mapbox 3D Live Navigation brings these elements together, helping drivers understand their next move without piecing together information from separate displays.

The Mapbox live map powers the experience and refreshes with daily map updates, ensuring navigation reflects changing road conditions.

"Our mission is to assist drivers and machines to never miss a turn. 3D Live Navigation is a major milestone on this journey," says Peter Sirota, Mapbox CEO. "We provide location infrastructure to our customers and enable them to invent highly differentiated experiences on top of our live map. It's rewarding to see how BMW has turned that foundation into an experience that is distinctly their own."

Reimagining Navigation

The power and flexibility of the Mapbox Navigation SDK gave BMW Group full control to build a navigation experience tailor-made for the Panoramic iDrive in its Neue Klasse vehicles—delivering an intuitive experience unlike anything else on the market. The vehicle's Central Display, Panoramic Vision Display, and 3D Head-Up display present the right information at precisely the right time in the driver's field of view.

"An important step toward highly automated driving is the intelligent interaction between navigation and driver assistance. BMW Maps with driver assistance shows drivers how route guidance, environmental perception, and assistance functions work together. This provides better orientation when driver assistance is active—developed by the BMW Group in collaboration with Mapbox," says Stephan Durach, Senior Vice President of Digital Services, Infotainment, and Connected Company at the BMW Group.

Inside Mapbox 3D Live Navigation

Mapbox 3D Live Navigation combines Mapbox's automotive mapping, navigation, and real-time data capabilities. For BMW, the experience includes:

- A dynamic, live 3D map. Lane geometry, road markings, crosswalks, and 3D buildings come together in a detailed view of the road, supported by Mapbox's ongoing map updates that reflect new construction and road modifications.

- Lane-level Magic Carpet guidance. The vehicle is shown in its lane of travel, while Mapbox Magic Carpet highlights the path through the next maneuver, helping drivers see exactly where to go so they never miss a turn. When assisted driving features are active, Mapbox shows where the vehicle intends to go.

- Situational awareness. ADAS camera detections, such as pedestrians, road hazards, and other vehicles, appear directly on the 3D map alongside lane-keeping and collision warnings, connecting the digital view with the road ahead in real time.

How Behavioral Profiles Can Reduce Drop-Off and Sustain Weight Loss, Upcoming Webinar Hosted by Xtalks
Image File
Original HTML

In this free webinar, learn how behavioral profiles can help identify adherence risk and support more personalized weight-management programs. The featured speakers will discuss how psychological factors, treatment beliefs and objective biometric data can help explain why some patients stay on therapy and others discontinue. Attendees will also explore how combining behavioral, biometric and social data can support earlier outreach and more sustained functional weight loss.

TORONTO, Oct. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Weight-loss medications work only while patients keep taking them. The real goal is staying on medication long enough to achieve meaningful, functional weight loss and sustain it. This webinar explores why that's harder than it sounds: not for the clinical reasons often expected, but rather because of the beliefs and psychology, including the significance of volitional medication use in obesity, that predict who stays engaged and who drops off before seeing the long-term benefits.

For pharma professionals supporting an obesity portfolio, that gap is an important challenge to address. Clinical trials show sustained weight reduction of 15–22% over 72 weeks, but real-world discontinuation can be up to 67% within 12 months. Side effects, cost and access explain only part of that drop-off. Most support programs have no validated way to identify behavioral risk before it impacts success.

Psychological factors, such as confidence, doubt and treatment identity, are increasingly recognized as independent predictors of discontinuation. Underlying motivations and beliefs about treatment, whether rooted in appearance, day-to-day function or long-term health risk, differ from patient to patient. Left unaddressed, these differences can determine whether someone stays on treatment and reaches a functional, lasting outcome. Digital health technology can help keep people engaged and on track.

The featured speakers will discuss findings from a novel study of 1,056 US adults using a GLP-1/GIP medication for weight management, evaluated using the SPUR behavioral framework alongside validated belief and mental-health measures. They'll introduce Kaitality™, Clinical ink's general wellness app, and show how connecting biometrics (weight, body composition and activity), sociometrics (social context and daily environment) and psychometrics (validated psychological drivers of adherence) can generate real-world evidence and support progress toward sustained functional quality weight loss goals.

Register for this webinar to learn how a behavioral profile can help identify adherence risk, personalize patient support and support sustained functional weight loss.

Join experts from Clinical ink, Christian Djurhuus, MD, PhD, EVP Disease Management, Chief Scientific Officer; Nicholas Alp, MD, PhD, FACC Chief Medical Officer; and Bob DiLuzio (Moderator), Senior Vice President, Disease Management, for the live webinar on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at 11am EDT (4pm CET / EU-Central).

Net5.5G Intelligent IP Network Summit Held Successfully, Highlighting Secure, Resilient IP Networks as the Foundation for AI-Era New Growth

VIENNA, Oct. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- During the Global Ultra-Broadband Forum (UBBF) 2026, the Net5.5G Intelligent IP Network Summit was successfully held. Centered around the theme "Security and Resilience for Networks, Smart New Growth for Carriers," GSMA Intelligence interpreted its newly released cybersecurity white paper globally for the first time. ITU-T SG13 joined hands with WBBA to launch a joint initiative, calling on global carriers to build a secure and resilient network foundation while leveraging AI for new business monetization models, effectively mitigating emerging security risks in the AI era.

At the summit, representatives from ITU-T SG13 and AV-TEST shared insights into the evolving threat landscape under the AI wave. They emphasized that AI has accelerated and amplified attack scales, breaking the traditional balance of offensive and defensive security. Security and resilience, therefore, must be elevated as strategic imperative and built from the ground up by design into network architecture.

GSMA Intelligence unveiled its "a target architecture for telecoms cybersecurity white paper," highlighting two core pillars essential for modern telecom networks: first, Native Security emphasizes that security should be embedded into network elements from design and production through to deployment and operation; Then, in-depth defense provides multi-layered, domain-based protection against complex and persistent threats. Furthermore, the white paper issued a forward-looking alert regarding quantum computing decryption threats—noting that bad actors harvest and store encrypted data for later decryption. Carriers therefore need to adopt new cryptography algorithms and cybersecurity practices that provide resistance to future attack by quantum computers.

In response, ITU-T SG13 and WBBA jointly launched the "Build Resilient, Secure IP Networks Together" initiative, encouraging global carriers to enhance network security and resilience to guarantee high service reliability and continuity in the AI era.

Considering the challenges, Leon Wang, President of Huawei's Data Communication Product Line, noted that AI has evolved from an efficiency tool into a network monetization engine, adding that sustained growth demands a secure, resilient foundation. John Cai, Vice President of Huawei's Data Communication Product Line, subsequently detailed the upgraded Huawei NG WAN Solution.

Learn practical approaches to applying AI in pharmacovigilance, including quality controls, confidence indicators, auditability, and human oversight, through a live demonstration of AI-enabled case intake.

TORONTO, Oct. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Pharmacovigilance intake processes must keep pace with the growing volume and variety of incoming data. Potential adverse events and product quality complaints can arrive through a variety of sources, including emails, websites and portals, chatbots, call centers, and digital formats like xml.

While automation is becoming part of this data intake process, most pharmacovigilance teams still rely on heavily manual reviews to assess, classify and route each potential case. This webinar will explore how AI-enabled adverse event detection and intake can help teams manage this increasing volume while maintaining appropriate human oversight to drive quality.

The session will examine practical considerations for introducing AI into a regulated pharmacovigilance environment, including embedded quality checks, transparent confidence indicators, auditability and end-to-end traceability of extracted information and resulting decisions. The goal is not to replace human oversight but to automate appropriate activities and focus expert attention where it adds the most value.

A live demonstration of ElevateSafety™ and Detective, powered by Converge™ by Deloitte, will illustrate how AI-enabled detection, data structuring, quality checks and routing can support adverse event intake across diverse data sources. Whether an organization is evaluating AI for the first time or benchmarking an existing approach, this session will provide a practical, grounded view of what's possible today for pharmaceutical and life sciences safety operations.

Register for this webinar to learn how pharmacovigilance teams can use AI to manage rising data volumes without sacrificing quality, compliance or human accountability.

Join Cyle Connell, Associate Vice President of Product Management for ElevateSafety™, Deloitte Consulting LLP; and Ellen O'Dea, Senior Manager, Deloitte Consulting LLP, for the live webinar on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at 1pm EDT (10am PDT).
