München (ots)

Der BR-Kabarett-Klassiker "schlachthof" feiert 30. Geburtstag!

Consumers Remain Confident Recalls Protect Public Health, But Growing Caution Underscores the Need for Faster, More Precise Traceability

EWING, N.J., Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Ninety-four percent of U.S. adults say they are concerned about the frequency of food recalls, up slightly from 93% in 2025, according to a new consumer survey commissioned by GS1 US. At the same time, fewer people believe food recalls are effective in protecting public health and safety, (80% compared to 85% in 2025), underscoring consumers' diminishing trust in the U.S. food supply.

The survey shows that consumers are increasingly taking broader precautions following food safety incidents:

67% have avoided an entire food product category following a recall, up from 60% in 2025.

66% are hesitant to purchase the same product or brand again, up from 59% last year.

59% have discarded recalled food even when their state or region was not affected, compared with 57% in 2025. Women are especially likely to pull back, with 71% saying they have avoided a whole category, compared with 63% of men.

While only 9% of consumers report that they would never purchase the recalled brand again, those who would consider repurchasing cited several key factors that would influence their decision, including: the time since the recall (39%), severity of the contamination (39%), and recommendations from authorities (35%).

"Food recalls are one of the ways the food safety system works to protect consumers, whether the issue involves contamination, undeclared allergens, foreign objects or mislabeling," said Bob Carpenter, president and CEO of GS1 US. "The challenge is making recall response more precise so companies can quickly identify and remove affected products while giving consumers clearer information about what is—and is not—impacted. Traceability, supported by common standards and better data sharing across the supply chain, is essential to that effort."

Regulation aimed at strengthening recall effectiveness and improving food safety will go into effect on July 20, 2028. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration's (U.S. FDA's) Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Section 204 Food Traceability Rule is designed to improve traceability for high-risk foods, such as leafy greens, eggs and others identified on the FDA's Food Traceability List, by establishing additional recordkeeping requirements to document their movement through the supply chain. The Rule requires companies subject to the regulation to maintain Key Data Elements associated with Critical Tracking Events and provide information within 24 hours if requested by the U.S. FDA.

GS1 US is helping the food industry prepare by applying GS1 Standards to support supply chain visibility, improve data sharing and enable rapid identification of affected products through ongoing education and guidance, including the FSMA Rule 204 Implementation Guideline. Additionally, as industry adoption of two-dimensional (2D) barcodes, such as QR Codes powered by GS1, advance on product packaging to support consumer engagement and Sunrise 2027 at checkout, recall management becomes a powerful use case: Richer product data, such as batch or lot information, can help trading partners and shoppers access more-precise information when safety issues occur.

New app connects consumers with professional stylists for personalized fashion advice starting at $25

NEW YORK, Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Personal styling has long been viewed as a luxury, reserved for celebrities and high-net-worth consumers. Today, Saturday Night Live costume designer Jill Bream and stylist Alexis Teller are changing the industry with the launch of anywear, a new mobile platform that connects users directly with professional stylists through messaging for personalized, on-demand fashion advice.

Available now on the App Store and Google Play, anywear provides access to real human stylists who help with everything from event dressing and wardrobe refreshes to fit questions and in-store shopping decisions. Sessions start at $25, making expert styling more accessible than traditional personal styling services.

Founded by New York City-based stylists Jill Bream and Alexis Teller, anywear was born from a simple observation. After decades of working in television, film, and celebrity styling, the pair found themselves constantly fielding texts from friends and colleagues seeking fashion advice. What started as an everyday occurrence quickly revealed a larger gap in the market.

"People were already coming to us every day with questions about what to wear, what to buy, and how to feel more confident in their clothes," said Alexis Teller, co-founder and CEO of anywear. "I realized that access to professional styling was still out of reach for most people. Everyone deserves to feel good in what they're wearing, and anywear makes that expertise available on-demand, at a price that's realistic for everyday life."

Unlike fashion technology platforms built on algorithms and AI-generated recommendations, anywear is human-first by design. What anywear offers is access to experienced professionals who understand the individual, the occasion, the fit issue, and the nuances an algorithm may miss. The only role of an anywear stylist is to help consumers make better decisions and feel more confident in what they wear.

The platform offers two service options:

Signature Styling ($55): A 30-minute session designed for larger styling goals, including special events, wardrobe refreshes, workwear planning, seasonal transitions, and fit guidance. Customers receive a personalized action plan with shopping recommendations, wardrobe organization advice, or styling strategies.

Quick Fix ($25): An on-demand styling session for immediate questions, such as outfit checks, shopping decisions, closet restyling, or occasion dressing.

The launch comes as consumers increasingly seek trusted, personal recommendations in an overwhelming digital shopping landscape. Traditional styling can cost hundreds per session, while online advice often feels generic or influenced by brand partnerships. anywear closes that gap with expert, unbiased guidance that fits real schedules and budgets.

RedHill Announces Transformational Acquisition of Commercialization Rights to Ferring's Rebyota® and Clenpiq®

RedHill Biopharma Ltd.

Together with the previously announced Talicia® strategic divestiture, the acquisition from Ferring of commercialization rights to two larger, proprietary, established gastrointestinal (GI) FDA-approved drugs that together generated approximately $37.5 million in 2025 net sales, completes a major strategic repositioning of RedHill's commercial GI business

The divestiture of Talicia and the acquisition of the new GI products from Ferring create a catalyst for commercial growth through a materially larger GI business under RedHill's control, with a significantly stronger liquidity position and provides additional growth and expansion opportunities

Under the terms of the agreement, RedHill obtained the exclusive commercialization rights for an upfront payment to Ferring of $12 million plus potential future milestones and tiered royalties.

The $12 million upfront payment is fully funded through the previously announced $18 million Talicia divestment, with RedHill securing exclusive global and U.S. commercialization rights to Ferring's Rebyota® and Clenpiq®, respectively - two synergistic, revenue-generating, FDA-approved GI drugs

Rebyota is a proprietary, first and only single-dose FDA-approved Fecal Microbiota Transplant (FMT for prevention of recurrent C. diff infection (rCDI). FDA-approved in 2022 and Health Canada-approved in 2025, Rebyota, was granted a Breakthrough Therapy and received Orphan Drug designations and generated approximately $16.9 million in 2025 U.S. net sales

Proprietary Clenpiq, a ready-to-use (no mixing required) low-volume bowel preparation on the U.S. market, generated $20.6 million in U.S. 2025 net sales with minimal promotion

RALEIGH, N.C. and TEL AVIV, Israel, Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- RedHill Biopharma Ltd. (Nasdaq: RDHL) ("RedHill" or the "Company"), a specialty biopharmaceutical company, today announced the transformational acquisition of exclusive global and U.S. commercialization rights to Rebyota and Clenpiq, from Ferring Pharmaceuticals ("Ferring"), as part of Ferring's ongoing strategic refocusing.

Dror Ben-Asher, RedHill's Chief Executive Officer, said: "We have executed a clear strategic sequence. We have monetized Talicia for $18 million cash upfront, plus $35 million in potential upside, used $12 million to secure commercialization rights to two established, proprietary, FDA-approved gastrointestinal drugs, that collectively generated approximately $37.5 million in U.S. net sales in 2025, and emerged with a materially larger, fully controlled commercial business and a stronger liquidity position. Rebyota and Clenpiq are expected to generate a positive cash contribution to RedHill. This, combined with RedHill's experienced and lean commercial team and proven development capabilities, creates a scalable foundation for further growth, including additional acquisition of complementary revenue-generating products." Mr. Ben-Asher added: "We thank Ferring for a smooth process to date and look forward to a successful collaboration."

Under the terms of the agreement, RedHill obtained an exclusive global commercialization license of Rebyota and an exclusive U.S. commercialization license of Clenpiq, for an upfront payment to Ferring of $12 million, plus tiered royalties on net sales and potential milestones. Ferring retains its Rebyota manufacturing facilities, and Ferring will continue to supply Rebyota through the term of the agreement.

"Rebyota is a first-in-class microbiota-based therapy for prevention of recurrent Clostridioides difficile (C. diff) infection (rCDI) in individuals 18 years of age and older following antibiotic treatment for rCDI. FDA-approved in 2022, it generated approximately $16.9 million in U.S. net sales in 2025 through its clinical profile, broad coverage and an established customer base of approximately 600 active accounts," said Rick Scruggs, RedHill's Chief Commercial Officer. "Clenpiq, a ready-to-drink low-volume bowel preparation on the U.S. market, delivered $20.6 million in net sales in 2025, with minimal promotion. Together the two assets give RedHill a significantly stronger commercial growth engine in both the U.S. and other new territories."

C. diff (CDI) infection is a distressing and life-threatening condition – in developed countries it is the most common cause of healthcare-associated (HA) diarrhea[1]. An estimated 3.6 million cases of CDI occur globally each year, including approximately half a million cases in the U.S. 30,000 Americans die every year due to CDI[2], with a global mortality rate of 1-in-10, rising to almost 1-in-3 in high-risk settings1. In the U.S., up to approximately 165,000 CDI cases result in one or more recurrences[3], indicating the need for use of prevention strategies.

Rebyota's one-time administration, which requires no fasting, bowel prep or extended treatment timeframe, has demonstrated more than a 70% success rate at preventing rCDI[4]. An aging population and accompanying increasing hospital-acquired vulnerabilities will likely increase this need. A streamlined ordering and reimbursement process is already in place for physicians, and broad and improving U.S. payer coverage means that 93% of lives have coverage including 43% with coverage after 1st recurrence[5].

Rebyota, which was granted, Breakthrough Therapy and Orphan Drug designations - with exclusivities and other patent protections that could run to 2036, provides multiple growth opportunities, including recent approval in Canada. The existing approvals also provide the potential for additional approvals in other territories.

Colonoscopy is the cornerstone of GI practice, with more than 15 million colonoscopies performed in the U.S. annually[6]. This number is rising, with follow-up needed after noninvasive screening tests that yield a positive result, an aging population, and guidelines that recommend testing at age 45 instead of age 50, contributing to an increased need for colonoscopy. Bowel preparation is not a pleasant process and is often poorly performed.

Clenpiq is a ready-to-drink low-volume bowel prep. Clenpiq is readily available to patients and has broad commercial and government payer coverage: More than 108 million lives (63%) with unrestricted (no prior approval) have commercial coverage, including 57 million (33%) with preferred position. 23m lives (41%) of Medicare Part D lives have unrestricted access to Clenpiq, including 12m (21%) lives with preferred position5.

RedHill was advised by Morningstar Law Group and Greenberg Traurig LLP on this transaction.

Preclinical findings demonstrate nutricosmetic by Monteloeder may offer broad support to hair resilience

Key Takeaways

New preclinical research reveals Elissara® activity across multiple pathways associated with healthy hair growth

Elissara® shown to help preserve growth-signalling IGF-1 protein levels important for hair-follicle development under environmental stress

The findings extend Elissara®'s clinically demonstrated scalp benefits to include follicular resilience

Monteloeder will present the study results at Vitafoods Asia and SupplySide Global.

MADRID, Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Results of a new study show that Elissara®, a nutricosmetic by Monteloeder, SL, a subsidiary of SuanNutra, SA, exhibits multifactorial activity associated with healthy hair growth and hair follicle function. The four-botanical polyphenol-enriched ingredient demonstrated support of hair follicle function and hair resilience.

Hair appearance, and particularly hair loss, is a major concern affecting millions of men and women worldwide and has a substantial impact on self-esteem and social confidence.

Beyond Scalp: New study Suggests Role for Elissara® in Hair Growth

"Consumers are increasingly concerned about their hair's appearance and are seeking natural, science-backed solutions that support hair vitality," explains Mariana Ortega, Science Marketing Manager for SuanNutra. "Supplement brands are responding to the growing demand for hair health solutions. The category is evolving from multivitamins targeting hair, skin, and nails toward more advanced, targeted products. We empower supplement brands with a complete beauty-from-within toolkit, enabling them to develop next-generation solutions that complement consumers' healthy lifestyles and go beyond topical care."

"Elissara is a great example of Visible Radiance™, our branded beauty-from-within line. "This science-driven platform designed as 'plug-in' line for beauty brands," adds Ortega.

Elissara® is a proprietary combination of four herbs formulated to work together to support the scalp's environment for more vibrant and healthier looking hair. It includes standardized extracts of lemon verbena (Lippia citriodora), olive leaf (Olea europaea), Japanese pagoda tree (Styphnolobium japonicum), and rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis).

The preparation delivers a specific fingerprint of bioactive compounds, including: verbascoside, oleuropein, hydroxytyrosol, quercetin, and rosemary-derived diterpenes (carnosol and carnosic acid). Together, these phenolic compounds provide a broad spectrum of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity

Getting to the root of hair growth

This three-pronged preclinical trial, published in the August 2026 issue of the journal Biomolecules involved laboratory assessments of human dermal papilla cells and scalp tissue samples exposed to environmental stressors such as pollution and UV light. Results showed that Elissara® influenced multiple biological pathways associated with healthy follicle function and the hair growth cycle. In human dermal papilla cells, Elissara® increased cell proliferation to approximately 2.5 times that of untreated controls.

Elissara® increased both collagen and signaling proteins associated with healthy hair-follicle function, including markers involved in cell proliferation, structural support and follicular signalling in human scalp explants. Elissara® was shown to help preserve growth-signalling IGF-1 protein levels important for hair-follicle development under environmental stress as well as reduce markers of oxidative damage, in scalp tissue exposed to PM2.5 pollution and UVA-induced environmental stress.

Beauty from skin to strand

"Elissara was initially developed as a natural inner beauty botanical formula to support the skin against pollution and UV exposure," informs Daniel González-Hedström, PhD, R&D Director for SuanNutra." It later exhibited scalp health benefits in a clinical study involving 66 women where daily oral supplementation significantly improved scalp moisturization and hydration, and reduced sebum levels and scalp redness. The benefits were also reflected in participants' self-assessments, with almost 79% reporting healthier-looking hair and 76% noting enhanced shine. Close to 80% of them reported that their hair felt stronger. This is what inspired us to further explore its potential in supporting hair growth."

The science of hair growth

Hair growth and follicular function are complex, shaped by a mix of genetics, hormonal changes, and inflammation, alongside lifestyle and environmental factors that can influence hair follicles. Androgens, particularly dihydrotestosterone (DHT), are known to contribute to shortening the anagen (growth) phase and shrinking hair follicles, while declining estrogen levels in women, particularly during menopause, may lead to hair thinning. Preclinical research showed that Elissara® may help support a healthier hormonal environment around the hair follicle by modulating pathways linked to DHT.

"Rather than relying on a single pathway, Elissara® combines four standardised, polyphenol-rich botanicals selected to provide complementary biological activity," says González-Hedström. "We are gradually unearthing Elissara®'s potential benefits on hair resilience. The findings of this preclinical trial provide new insights into its pathways of action and help us understand how the composition may support healthy follicular function. The next step is to investigate whether these mechanistic findings translate into measurable hair benefits in a clinical setting."

Previously marketed under the name "Zeropollution®," Elissara® is backed by two clinical trials demonstrating its positive impact on scalp condition and the hair's appearance. At a daily dose of 250 mg, it is available in various formats including tablets, capsules, or softgels.

Visit SuanNutra at Vitafoods Asia, in Bangkok, on September 2-4, booth #H5-E21 to discover how science is transformed into visible results.

Company celebrates three decades of innovation as continued sales growth, expanding distribution, new customer relationships, and a robust product pipeline position IBC for its next chapter of growth

IRVINE, Calif., Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Innovative Beverage Concepts (IBC), the company behind the trusted MOCAFE®, TEAOLOGY®, and MODERN OATS® brands, today celebrates its 30th anniversary, marking three decades of innovation, customer partnership, and leadership in premium specialty beverage solutions for the global foodservice industry.

IBC brands include: MOCAFE™, TEAOLOGY®, and MODERN OATS®

As it enters its fourth decade, IBC continues to build on that foundation with strong and sustained growth. The company has grown 31% since 2021, including 17.1% year-over-year growth, while continuing to expand its customer base, distribution network, product portfolio, and reach across foodservice and emerging channels.

Professional Coffee Bar Products Since 1996

Founded in 1996, Innovative Beverage Concepts has built a reputation as a trusted developer and manufacturer of premium beverage and foodservice products that help operators deliver exceptional café-quality experiences while improving operational efficiency and profitability. Today, IBC's brands are served in cafés, coffeehouses, restaurants, hotels, universities, convenience retailers, and institutional foodservice operations throughout North America and international markets.

IBC continues to broaden its market reach through an expanding base of customers and distribution partners, making its products increasingly accessible to foodservice operators across a wide range of channels. The company's established brands, growing distribution footprint, and ability to develop products for both longstanding and emerging beverage categories have created a strong platform for continued expansion.

For 30 years, the company has remained focused on a single mission: developing innovative, high-quality products that enable foodservice operators to serve premium beverages with consistency, speed, and confidence. By anticipating evolving consumer preferences and introducing new beverage concepts ahead of emerging trends, IBC has established itself as a valued innovation partner to customers and distributors across the specialty beverage industry.

Its flagship MOCAFE™ brand has earned the trust of coffee professionals for premium frappes, mochas, specialty lattes, chai, matcha, hot chocolate, smoothies, refreshers, and other café-inspired beverages that deliver exceptional taste and operational simplicity. Complementing MOCAFE, TEAOLOGY® offers premium tea-based beverage solutions, while MODERN OATS® extends the company's commitment to convenient, high-quality foodservice offerings that meet today's evolving consumer demands.

Throughout its history, Innovative Beverage Concepts has successfully navigated multiple generations of beverage innovation—from the rise of blended coffee beverages and specialty espresso drinks to the continued growth of chai, matcha, smoothies, premium hot chocolate, and today's rapidly expanding café-inspired beverage categories. This ability to identify emerging consumer trends and transform them into successful commercial products has enabled IBC to remain a trusted supplier and long-term partner for foodservice operators for more than three decades.

"When we founded Innovative Beverage Concepts 30 years ago, our vision was straightforward: create exceptional products that coffee professionals would be proud to serve while helping operators build stronger, more profitable businesses," said Richard Principale, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Innovative Beverage Concepts. "We're deeply grateful for the trust our customers, distributor partners, suppliers, and employees have placed in us over the past three decades. Those relationships have been the foundation of our success, and they continue to inspire us to innovate, expand, and develop new products that help our customers succeed every day."

IBC's continued growth reflects both the strength of its established product portfolio and its ongoing expansion into new customers, distribution relationships, and market opportunities. With demand for premium café-style beverages continuing to expand across traditional coffeehouses as well as restaurants, hotels, convenience, education, hospitality, and other foodservice channels, the company sees significant opportunity to bring its brands and products to an even broader range of operators.

Product innovation remains a central component of the company's growth strategy. IBC continues to invest in research, formulation, and commercialization of new specialty beverage solutions, with a robust pipeline of new products planned for introduction over the next year. These innovations are being developed to address emerging consumer tastes, provide operators with differentiated menu opportunities, and make premium beverage preparation easier and more profitable.

IBC is also increasing its investment in programs designed to strengthen customer engagement and support long-term growth. As part of that strategy, the company plans to introduce MoPerks™, a new customer loyalty and engagement program providing participating customers with exclusive promotions, rewards, educational resources, and business-building opportunities. MoPerks represents one component of IBC's broader commitment to strengthening relationships with cafés, restaurants, distributors, and foodservice operators while creating additional value for customers who grow their businesses with IBC brands.

"This milestone reflects the dedication of our employees, the loyalty of our customers, and the strength of the partnerships we've built over the past 30 years," said Peter Scialdone, Co-Founder and Vice President of Innovative Beverage Concepts. "The specialty beverage industry continues to present tremendous opportunities for operators seeking differentiated, premium beverage solutions. With our expanding customer and distribution base and a strong pipeline of new products ahead, we're excited about the opportunities in front of us and remain committed to delivering the innovation, service, and value that help our customers grow."

As Innovative Beverage Concepts enters its fourth decade, the company is building on the strength of three established brands, an increasingly broad market presence, continued business growth, an expanding distribution network, and a deep pipeline of new product innovation. IBC remains committed to the values that have defined its success for 30 years: quality without compromise, trusted partnerships, continuous innovation, and an unwavering commitment to customer success.

Bond Fluidaire & West Michigan Rubber have been a part of the Exotic Automation family since 2022 & 2025, respectively.

NEW HUDSON, Mich., Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Exotic Automation, a premier Parker Hannifin distributor, announced today they have completed the rebrand of their subsidiaries, Bond Fluidaire & West Michigan Rubber, to Exotic Automation.

Bond Fluidaire was acquired by Exotic in 2022 and has since undergone several key expansions, including an expanded product portfolio, geographic presence and service levels. A new location was opened in Kalamazoo, offering customers custom hose assemblies made on the spot as well as in-stock pneumatic and hydraulic inventory. The company's two Grand Rapids store locations were both remodeled, offering a wider selection of inventory and product demos. Bond Fluidaire also became a supplier of several new key suppliers, including SKF, DESTACO, Enerpac, Ace Controls and Perma.

West Michigan Rubber was acquired by Exotic in 2025 and underwent a major store remodeling which brought more in-stock products and fluid power capabilities to the Muskegon area. SAF production capacity expected to reach approximately 200 million gallon annual run rate by year-end 2028, with total renewable product sales expanded 40% to 17,000 barrels per day

Remaining project capital for this expansion reduced to $137 million from the $1.2 billion contemplated in the original Phase 2 plan, driven by the repurposing of proven equipment from the adjacent Calumet Montana Refining asphalt facility through a series of quick-payback steps

No third-party equity requirement provides simple capital structure and eliminates dilution, positioning MRL for future strategic opportunities; expansion is expected to be funded with Montana Renewables earnings alongside a final $34 million draw under a DOE loan

Calumet Montana Refining will continue to produce retail asphalt and provide shared site cost efficiencies across both businesses, preserving all Great Falls jobs

INDIANAPOLIS, Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Calumet, Inc. (NASDAQ: CLMT) ("Calumet," "we," "our" or "us") announced today a new flight plan for its MaxSAF® expansion at Montana Renewables, LLC ("Montana Renewables" or "MRL"), an unrestricted subsidiary of Calumet. By repurposing proven, installed refining equipment from the adjacent Calumet Montana Refining ("CMR") facility, Montana Renewables expects to reach approximately 200 million gallons of annual Sustainable Aviation Fuel ("SAF") production and 17,000 barrels per day of total product sales by year-end 2028. The total remaining project capital spend for this expansion is $137 million, compared to the $1.2 billion megaproject contemplated in the original loan issued by the U.S. Department of Energy ("DOE") through its Office of Energy Dominance Financing ("EDF").

Reflecting the dramatically lower capital requirement, Montana Renewables and EDF have amended the Loan Guarantee Agreement ("LGA") originally executed in January 2025. Phase 2 DOE funding is reduced from up to $658 million to a single, final draw of $34 million, with the balance of the expansion self-funded from MRL earnings. The original agreement required the project's full equity to be committed before Phase 2 construction. The amended structure requires no third-party equity, thereby eliminating dilution and preserving a simple capital structure for future strategic opportunities while accelerating the benefits of increased throughput, SAF, improved yields, and reduced unit costs.

The centerpiece of the revised plan is the redeployment of selected CMR assets — a hydrotreater, hydrogen plant, and naphtha splitter — to Montana Renewables under a long-term lease. The tied-in hydrotreater creates a proprietary dual reactor system that runs in a "polishing" service rather than the industry-standard "cracking" service, delivering competitively advantaged SAF yields while lowering by-product production and reducing yield loss. Several additional modular components, including a third renewable fuels reactor currently offsite, provide the ability to expand capacity beyond 200 million gallons over time.

Rather than a single large construction project, the new expansion is structured as six small, controllable, quick-payback projects, each designed to increase returns and reduce construction risk. Following constraint removal completed at the Spring 2026 turnaround, Montana Renewables is currently producing at a run-rate of 60 million gallons of SAF per year; expects to exceed an 80 million gallon run-rate by year-end 2026; surpass 120 million gallons by Spring 2027; and reach approximately 200 million gallons by year-end 2028. The program also captures approximately 20 million gallons per year of renewable propane and butane — previously burned as fuel gas — as saleable product, improves renewable naphtha yields, and reduces unit operating costs through scale and lower water usage.

The reconfiguration represents the next evolution of more than a decade of modernization at the Great Falls site under Calumet's ownership. The turnaround to complete the tie-in is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026 — timing that allows CMR to capture approximately $50 million of EBITDA at currently elevated global refining margins before the transition. CMR will remain in service, continuing to produce high-quality retail asphalt, retaining all employees, and providing shared cost efficiencies across the full site.

"Our amended agreement with the DOE facilitates innovative technology and domestic energy security at a fraction of the original cost," said Todd Borgmann, CEO of Calumet. "EDF's willingness to right-size the LGA reflects its ongoing support for Montana's largest agricultural investment. We look forward to our continued collaboration with the DOE on the success of this project."

"We've worked hard to unleash the ingenuity of our engineering and operational teams, and they developed a project that captures approximately 70% of the originally expected benefit while spending only 15% of the originally expected Phase 2 capital," Borgmann continued. "The DOE has kept our nation's energy independence goals at the forefront while demonstrating tremendous flexibility in thoughtfully working with us to adjust the loan. MRL was honored to be the first project to receive the support of the current Administration, and we thank the entire DOE team for its continued commitment to this key component of America's energy infrastructure. With the DOE's support, Montana Renewables continues to strengthen its position as one of the world's largest SAF producers while supporting regional agriculture, the Montana business community, our employees, and our shareholders."

The expansion increases MRL's total feedstock consumption to approximately 2 billion pounds of ranch- and farm-originated feedstocks, converted into American-made renewable jet fuel, diesel, and gasoline annually, while continuing to grow Montana's wage and tax base with highly skilled technical employment in a rural community.

Amended Loan Guarantee Structure

The DOE loan remains structured in two tranches. The first tranche of $782 million was funded in February 2025 and used to recapitalize MRL, including an additional $150 million equity investment by Calumet with cash on hand. Under the amended agreement, the remaining loan availability is reduced to a single, final draw of $34 million — down significantly from the previous additional draw of up to $658 million, which MRL expects to receive shortly, subject to the satisfaction of certain commercial, technical, and legal conditions precedent.

During construction, retained earnings from MRL are expected to supplement DOE funds to maintain debt at less than 55% of eligible spending. The loan retains its 15-year tenor and an annual interest rate of the U.S. Treasury rate plus 3/8%, with servicing of principal and interest deferred until MaxSAF® is commissioned. The March 2029 first servicing date and December 2039 maturity remain unchanged. The amended LGA will be filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC"), and investors should refer to the filed agreement for complete terms.

Non-GAAP Financial Measure

This press release includes a forward-looking estimate of EBITDA for CMR prior to the completion of the MaxSAF® expansion, which is a non-GAAP financial measure. We define EBITDA for any period as net income (loss) plus interest expense (including amortization of debt issuance costs), income taxes and depreciation and amortization.
