Advance purchase commitments from AVEVA, Bain & Company, Google, McKinsey, and others support Infinium's Project Atlas, a Texas-based planned facility expected to produce up to 100,000 metric tons of high-integrity sustainable aviation fuel per year.

WASHINGTON, Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The Sustainable Aviation Buyers Alliance (SABA) today announced commitments from members to purchase sustainable aviation fuel certificates (SAFc) associated with Infinium Energy's Project Atlas, an eSAF facility expected to produce approximately 100,000 metric tons of SAF annually, providing the long-term structured contracts that are catalytic to securing project financing.

The groundbreaking results of SABA's latest procurement were supported by leading member organizations, including AVEVA, Bain & Company, Google, McKinsey, and others, and mark an important addition to SABA's market model. Through exclusive focus on supporting projects toward final investment decision, this procurement represents a first-ever application of SABA's approach to drive new production of highly scalable, high-integrity SAF. Infinium submitted its winning proposal jointly with American Airlines, which will take physical delivery of the fuel and oversee fuel logistics. Contracted volumes under these agreements are expected to support greenhouse gas abatement of over 212,000 mtCO2e, equivalent to the emissions of over 3,500 JFK to LAX commercial flights.

"Reducing emissions from business travel is an important part of our sustainability efforts," said Isabelle Schuhmann, Global Director of Environmental Sustainability at McKinsey. "By supporting next-generation sustainable aviation fuel, this purchase helps advance a promising solution for decarbonizing aviation at scale, while enabling the travel that is essential to serving our clients."

Aviation currently accounts for approximately 2-3% of global greenhouse gas emissions, yet SAF supply remains limited and at a significant premium to conventional jet fuel. Infinium, which was selected through SABA's procurement process earlier this year, produces ultra-low carbon eSAF at commercial scale using waste CO₂ and renewable energy, converting captured carbon into drop-in aviation fuel compatible with existing aircraft and infrastructure.

"We're proud to partner with SABA members including AVEVA, Bain & Company, Google, McKinsey, and others, as well as American Airlines to bring Infinium Energy's next world scale eSAF facility to life," said Robert Schuetzle, CEO at Infinium. "Their commitment reflects a shared conviction that decarbonizing aviation requires real investment in next-generation supply."

"The companies purchasing SAF certificates through this agreement are demonstrating the leadership needed to help scale a critical solution for aviation," said American's Chief Sustainability Officer Jill Blickstein. "Their commitments broaden participation in the SAF market, support investment in new production and show how customers can work alongside airlines and fuel producers to advance aviation decarbonization."

SABA procurements use a book and claim model that allows corporate customers to invest in SAF and claim the associated environmental benefits, even when the fuel does not flow directly into the planes their employees or freight fly on. Participating companies purchase SAFc, while the corresponding fuel is delivered to an aircraft operator. American Airlines will serve as the physical offtaker for the SAF purchased through this deal and facilitate the allocation of the associated Scope 3 emission reductions to SABA's participating members.

"Next-generation sustainable aviation fuels have tremendous potential to transform aviation," said Sam Israelit, Chief Sustainability Officer at Bain & Company. "High-integrity market mechanisms can help translate corporate demand into the long-term investment signals needed to bring these technologies to commercial scale."

While the SAF market is growing rapidly, more investment is needed, especially for the next generation technologies the aviation sector requires to meet its long-term decarbonization goals. SABA helps accelerate future supply by aggregating SAF demand from corporate buyers and channeling it into offtake agreements with SAFc suppliers who meet rigorous sustainability criteria. SABA's next generation SAF procurement was specifically designed to drive investment into the innovative new technologies needed to bring scalable supply to the market in the years to come.

"Long-term, bankable offtake is often the missing puzzle piece that keeps new SAF plants from getting financed and built," said Kim Carnahan, GMA CEO and Head of SABA Secretariat. "We're thrilled to be working with our SABA members, Infinium, and American Airlines to fill this need and help get more ultra-low carbon aviation fuel to the market."

"We already know innovation can take us much further, faster, but only if we create the conditions for it to scale," said Jon Creyts, CEO of RMI. "Novel technologies are critical to meeting future demand for sustainable aviation fuel, but they will not be operational in time without investments made today. This procurement demonstrates how aggregated, long-term demand can help take promising eSAF projects from idea to reality."

To date, SABA has aggregated $500 million in demand for SAFc from over 35 member companies, driving needed investment toward sustainable aviation fuels. SABA's procurements are supported by robust market infrastructure, including the SAFc Registry, SAFc Accounting and Reporting Guidance, and SABA's Sustainability Framework. Combined, these tools ensure high-integrity transactions across the market. Recent guidance from standard setting organizations, including the Science-based Targets initiative, has recognized environmental attribute certificates from book and claim systems, like SAFc, as a legitimate tool for decarbonizing hard-to-abate value chain emissions.

With the binding, multi-year offtake agreements from SABA customers in hand, Infinium is well positioned to advance to final investment decision and secure financing to build the facility. In addition to serving voluntary customers, Infinium also plans to sell RFNBO compliant eSAF from the facility into European regulatory markets.

"eFuels represent one of the most sustainable pathways to help decarbonize aviation — but they are more expensive to produce," said Fred Krupp, president of Environmental Defense Fund. "Deals like this one prove that high-integrity e-SAF is investable today, not just in theory. The next test is turning early demand signals like SABA's into the long-term policy and financing conditions that will enable e-SAF suppliers to scale beyond a single project."

Plans for SABA's next procurement are already underway, offering future opportunities for companies to purchase and apply SAFc to their climate targets.

Pomelo Care Shares New Data Demonstrating Reduced NICU Utilization, Lower Infant Healthcare Costs, and Improved Quality of Care Through Its Virtual Maternity Care Model

Pomelo Care Shares New Data Demonstrating Reduced NICU Utilization, Lower Infant Healthcare Costs, and Improved Quality of Care Through Its Virtual Maternity Care Model

Claims-Based Data Shows Significant Improvements in HEDIS Quality Measures, 45% Shorter NICU Stays, and Over $9,000 in Cost Savings, Including a 20% Reduction in Infant Healthcare Costs

NEW YORK, Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Pomelo Care, the national leader in evidence-based healthcare for women and children, presented new data at the 2026 annual meetings of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), The Professional Society for Health Economics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR), and the AcademyHealth Annual Research Meeting (ARM). The findings build on Pomelo's robust body of research, including over 40 peer-reviewed studies demonstrating that proactive, technology-enabled maternity care can improve maternal and neonatal outcomes, reduce healthcare utilization and costs, close critical care gaps, and deliver measurable value for employers and health plans. The findings are drawn from medical claims data, not patient surveys, making Pomelo's results auditable within the same datasets employers and health plans use to track healthcare spend.

The new data demonstrates that Pomelo's virtual care model improves outcomes and reduces healthcare costs across the maternity lifecycle, from prenatal care and NICU utilization through postpartum and infant care. Collectively, the studies found that Pomelo's care model was associated with:

- 45% shorter NICU stays

- 63% reduction in NICU-related costs per delivery

- $9,038 lower average total episode cost

- 20% reduction in total infant healthcare costs

- 10% reduction in infant emergency department costs

- 82% increase in the odds of Timeliness of Prenatal Care (TOPC), as defined by HEDIS

- 47% increase in the odds of Timely Postpartum Care (PPC), as defined by HEDIS

"Employers and health plans are looking for clear evidence that clinically integrated, evidence-based maternity care can improve outcomes while meaningfully reducing costs," said Marta Bralic Kerns, founder and CEO of Pomelo Care. "Pomelo's extensive body of research continues to show that when care is proactive, continuous, and coordinated across pregnancy, postpartum, and infancy, it can reduce complications, lower NICU utilization and emergency care, close critical gaps in maternal care, and deliver measurable value for families and payers alike."

At ACOG, Pomelo presented new data evaluating the impact of proactive virtual maternity support on NICU utilization and maternity episode costs. The analysis compared outcomes for patients who enrolled in Pomelo's program prenatally with a comparison group of patients who enrolled only after delivery, helping isolate the impact of the clinical intervention from a patient's propensity to engage with care. The study found that prenatal engagement with Pomelo was associated with a 45% shorter NICU length of stay, a 63% reduction in NICU-related costs per delivery, and a $9,038 lower average total episode cost. These findings suggest that proactive virtual support layered onto standard prenatal care may help reduce NICU utilization and associated healthcare costs.

At ISPOR, Pomelo presented new data evaluating how early pregnancy identification combined with proactive virtual gap closure can improve HEDIS quality metrics tied to payer reimbursement and accreditation. The analysis examined a virtual maternity program powered by a proprietary identification engine that uses multiple data sources to identify pregnancy early in gestation and connect patients to timely clinical support. It found that the program was associated with an 82.3% increase in the odds of Timeliness of Prenatal Care (TOPC) and a 46.7% increase in the odds of Postpartum Care (PPC). Researchers estimated that, when applied to the Texas Medicaid Pay for Quality Program, these improvements could secure between $2 million and $6 million in quality-based reimbursement for a single mid-sized health plan. These findings show the potential of proactive virtual maternity care to help health plans improve quality performance and close critical gaps in maternal care.

At ARM, Pomelo presented data evaluating the association between engagement in its virtual maternity and infant care program and infant health care costs during the first 60 days of life. It examined more than 9,500 infants and found that engagement with Pomelo's program was associated with a 20.65% reduction in total infant healthcare costs and a 10.24% reduction in infant emergency department costs. It showed that continuous access to Pomelo's multidisciplinary care team, including pediatric providers, nurses, lactation consultants, and mental health specialists, may help families address acute neonatal concerns earlier and reduce avoidable emergency department utilization.

This builds on Pomelo's robust body of evidence, including its flagship study published earlier this year in Pregnancy, which found that longer prenatal engagement with Pomelo was associated with progressively greater reductions in preterm birth, NICU utilization, and healthcare costs.

Superpower Partners with Sequoia to Bring Proactive Preventive Health to Employers
Image File
Original HTML

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Superpower today announced a new partnership with Sequoia to bring a more proactive model of preventive health to employers and their teams. The partnership will begin with Sequoia's own 800+ employee workforce, giving Sequoia firsthand experience with Superpower while simultaneously making the solution available to eligible client organizations across its employer ecosystem.

Employer healthcare often starts after something has already gone wrong. Symptoms appear. A diagnosis is made. Risk shows up as a claim. Superpower is working to shift that experience earlier, helping people better understand their health before issues become more serious and helping employers support preventive care in a more meaningful way.

The partnership with Sequoia is designed to make that model easier for employers to evaluate and adopt. Sequoia works with more than 2,500 companies and reaches more than 600,000 people, giving it a broad view into the challenges employers face as they manage rising healthcare costs, fragmented benefits, and growing demand for more personalized employee support.

Many people want to be more proactive about their health, but the current system can make that difficult. Annual visits often rely on limited testing and provide only a snapshot in time. Health records may be spread across providers, apps, and systems. New technology can make guidance more personalized, but it works best when connected to comprehensive data and clinical support.

Superpower turns a simple blood draw into an ongoing preventive health experience. Members receive 150+ biomarker testing at home, at thousands of lab locations, or onsite. They also receive a longitudinal health profile that can combine labs, health records, and wearable data, along with a personalized action plan, 24/7 Health AI, licensed clinical support, proactive outreach, and retesting to track progress over time. When the data points to care or a benefit an employer already offers, Superpower helps the member understand where to go next.

By partnering with Sequoia, Superpower can bring this experience to an employer audience that is actively looking for more proactive, integrated ways to support workforce health. Sequoia will begin by offering Superpower to its own employees, then use that experience to advise eligible clients that are evaluating comprehensive preventive health as part of their broader benefits strategy.

"Most people are trying to make health decisions with limited information and a fragmented view of their health. Superpower brings together comprehensive testing, technology, and clinical support so people can better understand what is happening in their bodies and take action earlier. Partnering with Sequoia helps us bring that model to employers in a thoughtful, credible way, starting with Sequoia's own team," said Max Marchione, Chief Executive Officer at Superpower.

Sequoia's decision to begin with its own workforce reflects the way many employers are approaching new health solutions: they want to understand the employee experience, the operational requirements, and the potential value before recommending or scaling them more broadly.

"Employers have made significant investments in healthcare, but much of that support begins after a condition is already known. We see an opportunity to help people engage earlier, with better information and clearer next steps. By offering this to our own team, we can learn firsthand what this experience delivers and help clients evaluate whether it fits into their broader preventive health strategy," said Christina Sullivan, Chief Client Officer at Sequoia.

Health costs continue to rise, and employers often have limited visibility into health risks before they become more serious and more expensive. Through this partnership, Superpower and Sequoia aim to help employers move upstream, supporting people earlier, connecting them with appropriate care, and making better use of the benefits already available to them.

Eligible Sequoia client organizations should reach out to their Sequoia representative for more information.

ID Dataweb Unveils Buyer's Guide for Evaluating Identity Threat Detection Solutions

New guide helps security leaders evaluate identity security platforms against evolving threats.

CENTREVILLE, Va., Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- ID Dataweb™, a recognized leader in identity threat detection and risk mitigation, today announced the release of its new buyer's guide, "Identity Threat Detection & Risk Mitigation," designed to help executive and senior security leaders evaluate how to protect their organizations against identity-based attacks and account-related threats.

As identity attacks grow more sophisticated and extend across customers, third parties, and workforce identities, organizations face an increasingly complex technology landscape. ID Dataweb's new guide challenges security leaders to look beyond traditional vendor comparisons and feature checklists and instead evaluate whether identity security solutions can operate as a cohesive, end-to-end platform.

"Identity threats don't exist in silos, and organizations can no longer afford to defend against them with disconnected tools and fragmented intelligence," said Dr. Torsten George, Chief Cybersecurity Evangelist at ID Dataweb. "This guide is intended to give security leaders a more practical framework for evaluating identity threat detection — one that focuses not simply on what individual products can do, but on how effectively an organization can detect risk, orchestrate decisions, and respond across its entire identity lifecycle."

The guide comes as several developments reshape the identity threat landscape. AI has made sophisticated fraud techniques such as deepfakes, synthetic documents, and social engineering more accessible. Compromised credentials are widely available, diminishing the value of credentials alone as a signal of legitimacy. At the same time, attackers increasingly target workforce, third-party and help desk access pathways in addition to traditional customer-facing channels.

Research from CIO Dive's Studio in partnership with ID Dataweb found that 82% of security leaders recognize identity as the new security perimeter, yet only 17% are extremely confident in their ability to detect identity-based threats. Fragmentation remains a significant challenge, with 43% identifying fragmented identity systems as their top obstacle.

A Framework for Evaluating Identity Threat Detection

Rather than treating every feature as equally important, the buyer's guide identifies several areas where architectural depth can make a meaningful difference in real-world security outcomes. It encourages organizations to evaluate vendors based on:

- Risk orchestration: The ability to combine authoritative identity sources and risk signals into policy-driven decisions in real time.

- Coverage across attack vectors: Protection spanning customer, third-party, and workforce identities rather than a single population.

- Service resilience and fallback: Automatic failover and alternative verification methods that maintain protection when a primary service is unavailable.

- Privacy and data residency: The ability to correlate identity risk while minimizing the storage of personally identifiable information and supporting regulatory requirements.

- Synthetic identity and data hygiene: Continuous reanalysis of existing user records to identify potentially fraudulent identities that point-in-time verification may miss.

- Expert human support: Identity fraud expertise that complements automated detection and continuously informs detection logic.

The guide also addresses the different priorities stakeholders bring to the buying process. For CISOs, that includes real-time threat detection, adaptive policy enforcement, and compliance-ready reporting. Identity fraud leaders need higher-confidence determinations, broader risk signals, and fewer false positives. CIOs and IT executives need API-first technology that integrates with existing IAM and SIEM infrastructure while reducing the operational burden created by multiple point solutions.

Ultimately, the guide recommends that organizations design proofs of concept to test how well an identity security platform operates as a cohesive whole — not simply whether a vendor can check individual boxes on a feature list.

"Identity Threat Detection & Risk Mitigation" is available now at www.iddataweb.com.

Claros Technologies Announces Continued Commercial Expansion into Europe and Entry into Pharmaceutical Manufacturing with a Successful PFAS Destruction Pilot at Bachem AG

The ClarosTechUV™ PFAS Destruction System met or exceeded Bachem's established performance metrics for TFA during two weeks of testing under real-world manufacturing conditions at the company's flagship campus in Bubendorf, Switzerland

MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Claros Technologies (Claros), a global leader in permanent PFAS destruction technology, today announced the successful completion of a commercial-scale pilot of its ClarosTechUV™ system at the flagship Swiss manufacturing campus of Bachem AG (Bachem) in Bubendorf, Switzerland. Bachem is one of the world's leading manufacturers of peptide and oligonucleotide active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), including semaglutide, the API used in blockbuster GLP-1 therapies, widely used for weight management and type 2 diabetes.

The pilot further demonstrates the broad applicability of the ClarosTechUV™ system and marks another key milestone for Claros: the successful application of ClarosTechUV™ under real-world pharmaceutical manufacturing conditions to destroy TFA at the source. The pilot also highlights the role PFAS destruction technology can play in enabling the responsible and sustainable use of PFAS substances necessary for essential applications by providing manufacturers with a solution designed to permanently destroy target PFAS in industrial wastewater.

"This relationship with Bachem represents a defining milestone for Claros and an important step forward for the global pharmaceutical industry," said Michelle Bellanca, CEO and Co-Founder of Claros Technologies. "As pharmaceutical manufacturing expands, particularly around peptide therapeutics and GLP-1 medicines, the industry is increasingly confronting how to address ultra-short-chain PFAS such as TFA in industrial wastewater. Bachem is demonstrating the kind of leadership that will define the future of pharmaceutical and industrial manufacturing by proactively deploying ClarosTechUV™ technology to destroy TFA at the source. We are incredibly proud to collaborate with one of the world's leading peptide manufacturers on this important work."

Bachem is a global leader in the development and manufacture of peptide and oligonucleotide APIs, supplying pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies around the world. As demand for peptide therapeutics, including those used in GLP-1 medicines, and other critical medications continues to accelerate, the growth of pharmaceutical manufacturing is bringing increasing attention to environmental stewardship.

Trifluoroacetic acid (TFA), an ultra-short-chain PFAS, is receiving increasing regulatory attention in Europe and the United States. European authorities are evaluating broader PFAS restrictions under the REACH framework, while the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has proposed including TFA in the Sixth Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Rule (UCMR 6) for nationwide drinking water monitoring.

Against this evolving regulatory backdrop, Bachem has taken a proactive approach by deploying ClarosTechUV™ to support the responsible and sustainable use of PFAS substances necessary for essential pharmaceutical applications, while addressing TFA in its industrial wastewater at the source and helping future-proof its production of essential products against an evolving global regulatory landscape. ClarosTechUV™ is designed to fit within existing treatment trains, enabling manufacturers to add PFAS destruction capability without changing their entire treatment setup.

Unlike conventional PFAS treatment technologies that often require additional management and disposal, the patented ClarosTechUV™ PFAS Destruction System is designed to permanently destroy PFAS at the source—including ultra-short-chain PFAS such as TFA—through an on-site, low-footprint, proprietary high-flow UV photochemical process engineered for industrial wastewater treatment.

The Claros pilot forms part of Bachem's broader commitment to reducing TFA in its industrial wastewater and advancing more environmentally responsible pharmaceutical manufacturing. In a recent article published by the Swiss newspaper Volksstimme detailing the Claros pilot, Patrick Barth, Head Group Communications at Bachem, said that following ClarosTechUV™ treatment of Bachem's industrial wastewater, "only very low residual concentrations of TFA were detectable."

In the same article, André Casagrande, Site Manager at Bachem's Bubendorf campus, placed the company's work with Claros within Bachem's broader approach to responsible pharmaceutical manufacturing. "Innovation and environmental responsibility go hand in hand for us," Casagrande said. "We want not only to help people through our products, but also to play a responsible role with regard to the environment."

Engineered for the Next Generation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

The ClarosTechUV™ system is engineered specifically for high-flow industrial operations and designed to integrate seamlessly into existing manufacturing wastewater systems. Unlike conventional technologies that separate PFAS into secondary waste streams requiring ongoing management and disposal, ClarosTechUV™ permanently destroys PFAS for good. The Bachem pilot generated operating data under full manufacturing conditions to inform engineering and design decisions for a commercial system.

About Bachem AG

Bachem is a leading, innovation-driven company specializing in the development and manufacture of peptides and oligonucleotides. The company, which has over 50 years of experience and expertise, provides products for research, clinical development, and commercial application to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies worldwide and offers a comprehensive range of services. About Claros Technologies

Founded in 2018 and based in Minneapolis, Claros Technologies deploys PFAS destruction solutions across industrial wastewater, groundwater, data center water, and municipal wastewater applications. The company operates through two core divisions: ClarosTech™ delivers permanent PFAS destruction through commercially available, high-flow UV-based systems that permanently destroy 99.99% of target PFAS species—long, short, and ultra-short chains; and ClarosLabs™, its ISO/IEC 17025:2017-accredited analytical division and leading commercial laboratory specializing in PFAS detection, quantification, and exposure assessment.

Claros is on a mission to take the "forever" out of "forever chemicals" and destroy PFAS for good.
