Operator's patent pending technology answers first on every line, understands why each customer is calling, and carries that reason through the transfer, so no one starts over and no one lands in a dead end

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Numa, the AI Operating System for dealerships, today launched Operator, the first Precision Routing system for dealerships and a game changer to how a store manages inbound customer calls essentially replacing the receptionist.

Operator does the oldest and one of the most important jobs in the store: it puts every caller in the right hands, with the full reason for their call, every time. Numa's Operator has shown to route 95% of calls to the correct destination. Operator is always making these Precise (Call) Routing decisions, 24/7, 7 days a week delivering positive impressions for the dealership. Every dealership once had a person who knew the store: who fixed what, who sold what, who to grab when a customer was upset. The phone tree replaced that person and never replaced the job. For thirty years, customers have been asked to understand how the dealership is organized before anyone asks what they need. A customer calling about a check-engine light should not have to know who to ask for.

The latest wave of AI receptionists has not fixed this. They answer the phone without knowing the store. They automate the greeting and leave the job undone. The call still lands in the wrong place, still bounces between departments, and still starts over at every transfer. A friendlier voice on the phone tree is still the phone tree.

Numa's Operator retires or augments the phone tree, all while being customized to the needs of the dealership. It is the first system since the human operator to actually do the job, and it answers first on every line. Where phone systems route by the name a customer guessed, Precision Routing sends each call based on what the customer needs. It questions and queries the caller efficiently and quickly to route them to the right destination, eliminating one common outcome experienced by customers calling dealerships today, which is the dead end. And it knows the whole store, every department and who handles what, on every line at once.

This is the part most AI gets backwards. Numa's Operator was not built to keep customers away from the dealership's staff. It was built to get them there and enhance the human-to-human connection.. When the phone rings at a Numa dealership, everyone knows the call is for them. Employees pick up already knowing why the customer called, spend less time fielding misdirected calls, and spend more time with the customers they are best equipped to help.

"Walk into a dealership running Numa's Operator and you can feel the difference when the phone rings," said Tasso Roumeliotis, co-founder and CEO of Numa. "Nobody is guessing. Nobody is apologizing for the third transfer. The customer with a check-engine light lands with the person who can fix it, and that person picks up (with context) already knowing why they called. Answering the phone was never the hard part; rather it is knowing exactly who in the store can help this customer, right now, and getting them there without making anyone repeat themselves. That is the job Numa's Operator with Precision Routing does on every call, on every line. And then it shows you the numbers. The phone tree had its run. This is what comes after."

Operator is not a bolt-on answering product. It is the front door of the Numa AI Operating System, running on the same system that has handled more than 1B calls and texts and booked more than 4 million appointments across service lanes at more than 1,300 dealerships in the U.S. and Canada. That depth is why Operator can do the job: it runs on a system that already knows how a dealership works.

Numa will demonstrate Operator and Precision Routing live at the Digital Dealer Conference & Expo, September 22–23 at Huntington Place in Detroit. Attendees can visit the Numa team at booth #503.

Work to Zero report examines how rigging, signaling and organizational factors influence crane safety

WASHINGTON, Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The National Safety Council and NCCCO Foundation released a new research report, The State of Rigging and Signaling in Crane Operations, revealing that nearly all crane professionals experience communication challenges during crane lifts. Funded by the NCCCO Foundation and published through the NSC Work to Zero initiative in partnership with McElhattan Foundation, the resource advances the Council's mission of eliminating workplace fatalities by identifying practical strategies that strengthen safety practices and reduce risk.

Developed through interviews with industry experts, a survey of crane professionals and an extensive review of existing research, the report explores how communication, planning and human and organizational factors influence crane safety. Crane-related incidents continue to pose significant risks for workers across multiple industries. Between 2015 and 2024, there were 405 crane-related fatalities in the United States. Notably, only 29% of those fatalities involved crane or tower operators, highlighting the importance of protecting everyone working around crane operations, including riggers, signalpersons and other jobsite personnel.

"Safe crane operations depend on clear communication, careful planning and a workplace culture that empowers workers to speak up and effectively use safe work practices," said Dr. Matt Law, director of Work to Zero at NSC. "This research shows how human and organizational factors influence safety outcomes and provides employers with practical recommendations to strengthen communication, reduce risk and help prevent serious incidents and fatalities."

Key findings from the report include:

- Ninety-eight percent of survey respondents experienced communication challenges during crane lifts within the previous 90 days, highlighting the need for stronger communication and pre-lift planning

- Nonstandard signaling practices contribute to confusion and increased risk on jobsites

- Human and organizational factors, including production pressure, inadequate supervision and worker distraction, contribute to unsafe rigging practices more frequently than technical errors

- Certified riggers and signalpersons were consistently viewed by peers as more effective than non-certified personnel, suggesting standardized training and certification can help establish greater consistency across the workforce

"This report shows that rigging and signaling both play important parts in implementing a safe lift from start to finish," said T.J. Cantwell, executive director at the NCCCO Foundation. "It's clear more needs to be done to ensure people are trained in the use of proper rigging and signaling standards, and that those standards are being adhered to in the field in order to improve safety for everyone working with cranes."

Since 2023, Work to Zero and the NCCCO Foundation have collaborated to develop research, tools and resources that help reduce serious incidents and fatalities in crane operations. NSC and the NCCCO Foundation will host a webinar on September 29, 2026, to discuss the report's findings and practical strategies for improving rigging, signaling and communication during crane operations. Register for the webinar here.

Soltage's First New York City Battery Storage Project Completes Its Second Operating Season
Image File

The asset discharged at full capacity during this summer's peak hours, with six additional Soltage storage projects under construction in the city.

JERSEY CITY, N.J., Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Soltage, a leading independent power producer (IPP), today reported that 55 Drive, its first battery energy storage system in New York City, has successfully completed a second full operating season, discharging at full capacity during peak summer demand into the Con Edison network it serves.

As electricity demand grows across New York City, so does the need for reliable, locally sited capacity. Heading into this summer, the New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) reported a statewide reliability margin of 417 MW, the lowest in recent history and down from 2,227 MW in 2018. NYISO has also identified reliability needs in New York City over its five-year planning horizon. Energy storage is expected to play an important role in addressing those needs, with New York targeting 6 GW of storage by 2030, including a focus on projects located downstate.

55 Drive is a 4.6 MW / 18.4 MWh asset positioned to support the grid where demand is greatest. Connected directly to a Con Edison distribution circuit in New York City, the facility discharges during peak-demand periods, helping reduce stress on the local distribution system during some of the highest-demand hours of the year.

Following 55 Drive, Soltage has six additional storage projects under construction in New York City, representing 30 MW / 120 MWh, with a further 115 MW / 460 MWh in advanced development.

"Two operating seasons is the point at which a distributed storage asset stops being a projected grid resource and becomes a true infrastructure asset," said Jesse Grossman, Chief Executive Officer of Soltage. "55 Drive has performed as underwritten in the hours that matter most to this city, and the six projects behind it reflect a straightforward conviction that the capacity New York needs most will be built inside the five boroughs."

"These are distribution-connected projects, sited inside the neighborhoods they serve and strengthening the local grid where and when it is actually constrained," said Dirk Van Ouwerkerk, Senior Vice President, Storage Development. "These long-lived assets make Soltage a durable partner to the communities that host them, to the city, and to Con Edison. We are building our NYC storage fleet to operate as constructive stakeholders to support NYC's growth for decades to come."

"Soltage has been pleased to act as a leader on the implementation of urban storage, deploying safe and effective technology to meet local capacity challenges," said Robin Gray, Chief Technical Officer + Senior Vice President of Engineering and Operations. "These projects show how intelligently operated, distributed storage technology can deliver meaningful value to the New York City grid and the communities it serves, setting a benchmark for storage builds in other capacity constrained markets across the US."

Soltage's New York City storage program sits within a national portfolio of more than 2 GW in development across the United States.

About Soltage

Soltage is a leading independent power producer that develops, owns and operates distributed solar and energy storage assets across the United States. With a track record spanning more than 20 years, Soltage has developed more than 130 projects representing over 600 MW, and has a national development pipeline of more than 2 GW. Soltage is owned by Igneo Infrastructure Partners, which manages more than US$24.5 billion in direct infrastructure assets.

Plataine Unveils AI Agents for Long-Term Strategic Planning, Helping Manufacturers Scale for Growth
Image File
Original HTML

New Agentic-AI and Planning technology enables manufacturers to simulate at-scale sales and production scenarios supporting Able-to-Promise, Capable-to-Deliver and CAPEX investment decisions.

ATLANTA, Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- CAMX 2026 -- Plataine, a leading provider of AI Agents for advanced manufacturing, today announced new AI Agents for Long-Term Production Planning that enable manufacturers to scale for growth by simulating future production scenarios, improving the ability to deliver, and validating the impact of additional resources on production outputs before making critical sales, delivery commitments and investment decisions.

Unveiled at CAMX 2026, the new capabilities extend Plataine's AI Agents beyond short term scheduling, giving manufacturers a powerful way to evaluate how their operations will perform months and years into the future, ensuring they effectively meet customer ramp-up expectations.

Manufacturers are frequently faced with major decisions: do we have the capacity to commit to new contracts? Should another machine be purchased? Are additional shifts or new hires required? Will new tooling remove a future bottleneck? Can the factory accommodate an expected increase in demand? And if additional resources are added, where will they deliver the greatest return?

Traditionally, answering these questions relies heavily on spreadsheets, historical averages and numerous assumptions. However, in complex manufacturing environments, adding capacity in one area does not necessarily increase overall throughput. A constraint may simply move elsewhere in the production process.

Plataine's AI agents model these decisions against the real operational constraints of the factory in full detail, avoiding dependency on general assumptions. These agents run in either attended or unattended modes with controlled autonomy to continuously assess both tactical and strategic scenarios. This includes addition or changes to machines, tooling, workforce, materials, routings, process dependencies and production demand.

Manufacturers can create and compare multiple scenarios, including:

- Confirming Ability to Deliver in support of OEM ramp up or winning new contracts

- Increasing production capacity to meet forecasted demand

- Adding machines, workstations or production lines

- Introducing additional tooling or molds

- Adding shifts or workforce resources

- Evaluating the impact of planned equipment downtime

- Identifying future bottlenecks before they affect production

- Assessing whether existing resources can support new programs

- Comparing alternative investment and capacity strategies

Rather than looking at individual resources in isolation, Plataine evaluates the effect of each scenario across the entire production environment.

For example, manufacturers considering the purchase of an additional machine can simulate the future state of production and the impact on production KPIs. Plataine can then show whether the additional resource meaningfully increases throughput, improves delivery performance and whether another part of the production process will become a new bottleneck.

This gives planning and management teams greater confidence in customer commitments and RFP responses, helping improve customer relationships through greater accuracy and transparency. It also enables capital expenditure and resource decisions to be validated against their expected operational impact, rather than relying on assumptions.

From Reactive Scheduling to Proactive Decision-Making

Plataine connects long-term strategic planning with short-term production scheduling, enabling manufacturers to simulate future demand, capacity and resource scenarios using the same real-world constraints that govern daily production. This allows teams across operations, finance, procurement and management to identify risks and future bottlenecks, assess resource and capital needs, and evaluate where additional machines, tooling, shifts or workforce will have the greatest impact before making procurement decisions or committing to major investments. For aerospace, composites, automotive suppliers, electronics and other advanced manufacturing industries, where resources such as autoclaves, tooling and skilled labor can involve significant costs and long lead times, this early visibility is especially valuable.

"Advanced manufacturers are making multi-million-dollar decisions today based on what they expect their factories will need months or even years from now," said Avner Ben-Bassat, President and CEO of Plataine. "Our long-term planning AI Agents give them the ability to test those decisions before committing the investment. Instead of asking whether they need more capacity, manufacturers can understand exactly where additional machines, tooling, people or shifts will make the greatest impact, and where they won't. This brings a new level of intelligence and confidence to strategic manufacturing decisions."

Plataine is demonstrating its AI-powered Production Planning and Scheduling solutions at CAMX 2026, September 22–24 in Atlanta, Georgia, Booth J48.

JSAUX GAMING's E-Ink and Pixel Matrix Faceplates for Steam Machine Are Now Available

Magnetic replacement faceplates turn Steam Machine's front panel into a customizable display, with both models priced below $100

HONG KONG, Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- JSAUX GAMING today announced that its new E-Ink Faceplate and Pixel Matrix Faceplate for Steam Machine are now available, giving Steam Machine owners a new third-party option for customizing their system.

Designed as magnetic replacement faceplates, the two panels give Steam Machine owners a simple way to make the system their own.

"We designed these faceplates to do more than change the look of Steam Machine," said Winnie Chen, Marketing Communications Manager at JSAUX GAMING. "They give the front of the system a new role—part personal design statement, part information display."

Two Ways to Personalize Steam Machine

JSAUX GAMING turns Steam Machine's front panel into a display surface rather than leaving it as a fixed exterior panel. This creates a new place for information, personal images, game artwork, and visual content.

The two models take different approaches. E-Ink combines clear information with detailed monochrome imagery, while Pixel Matrix brings full-color visuals, animation, and pixel-based expression to the front of the system.

E-Ink Faceplate: Clear Information, Clean Visuals

The 5.83-inch E-Ink Faceplate features a 640 × 480 monochrome display, Bluetooth connectivity, and a built-in 500mAh battery.

The JSAUX E-INK APP provides eight display modes: Time, Weather, Calendar, Performance, Playtime, Progress, Digital Frame, and AI Agent Status. Users can choose the information they want to display or use the Digital Frame mode for static content such as game artwork, pixel art, personal photos, and retro-inspired designs.

The AI Agent Status mode displays the status of supported AI applications running on Steam Machine, giving users a quick view of what is running and how it is progressing.

Pixel Matrix Faceplate: Colorful Motion, Real-Time Feedback

The 7-inch Pixel Matrix Faceplate brings a full-color RGB display with a 64 × 54-pixel matrix to the front of Steam Machine. It supports static images, GIFs, and real-time content updates.

Through the JSAUX PIXEL APP, users can switch between eight modes: Dashboard, Hardware, Weather, Clock, Playtime, Countdown, Chronograph, and Custom. The app gives users flexible control over what appears on the panel.

A slim, flat USB-C cable with a right-angle connector follows Steam Machine's profile for a clean, integrated look.

Both faceplates are controlled through their companion apps. The official Steam Machine Faceplate App Installation Guide provides dedicated setup instructions for the E-Ink and Pixel Matrix models.

JSAUX GAMING also plans to make the companion software available through Steam in the future, giving users a more convenient way to install and update it.

Pricing and Availability

- JSAUX E-Ink Faceplate for Steam Machine — $99.99

- JSAUX Pixel Matrix Faceplate for Steam Machine — $89.99

Both faceplates are now available from the JSAUX GAMING official store, with shipping expected to begin in early October.

Pylontech Starts Mass Production of 588Ah and 601Ah LFP Cells for ESS

HEFEI, China, Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Pylontech (688063:SH) starts mass production of its 588Ah and 601Ah Prismatic LFP Cells for ESS at its Hefei manufacturing base on September 21, marking a new step in the company's expansion into utility-scale energy storage.

Developed in-house, the 588Ah and 601Ah cells are designed for large-scale energy storage applications, offering high safety, long cycle life and high energy efficiency. More than 100MWh of the new cells have already been produced, demonstrating the company's ability to manufacture the new products at scale. The cells are also being integrated into Pylontech's next-generation PyOcean 6.25MWh and 8MWh energy storage systems, which are set to enter project delivery.

The move comes as Pylontech continues to expand its presence in the utility-scale energy storage market. The company has supplied systems for a growing number of large-scale projects in China and overseas, including a 120MW/240MWh energy storage project in Yangzhou, Jiangsu, a 200MW/400MWh standalone BESS in Ningxia, as well as projects in Europe. These projects have expanded Pylontech's experience in the delivery and deployment of large-scale energy storage systems.

The new cells deliver improvements across key performance metrics, including capacity, energy density, cycle life and energy efficiency. The 601Ah cell achieves an energy density of 425.8Wh/L, a cycle life of more than 12,000 cycles and energy efficiency of 96.5%. Its higher capacity also reduces the number of cells and interconnections required within a storage system, enabling more compact system designs, more efficient integration and improved lifecycle economics.

Production of the new cells is supported by Pylontech's intelligent manufacturing capabilities at its Hefei base. Core production processes are 100% automated, supported by more than 120 industrial robots and 180 sets of intelligent manufacturing equipment. The company's manufacturing execution system (MES) captures production and quality data throughout the manufacturing process, enabling 100% end-to-end traceability for every cell and supporting consistent quality control.

With the 588Ah and 601Ah cells now in mass production, Pylontech will continue to advance its cell technology, manufacturing and system integration capabilities to support the growing demand for utility-scale energy storage worldwide.

Is Your Fence Winter-Ready? Top Rail Fence Says Check These 6 Things First
Image File
Original HTML

- Late summer is the best window to catch fence problems before winter locks them in

- Unprepared fences are more susceptible to damage from snow, ice and seasonal winds

- Simple fixes now can help fences withstand harsh winter conditions

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C., Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- As temperatures begin to drop and homeowners prepare their properties for the cold weather season, Top Rail Fence, the national fence installation company, is encouraging owners to take steps now to winterize their fences. Freezing temperatures, ice, heavy snow, and strong winds are all factors that can take a toll on a fence, leading to potential risk of damages like sagging panels, loose posts, cracks, rust and warping if not prepared correctly.

Why Fall Maintenance Matters

Late summer and fall are the ideal window for fence upkeep before the first freeze arrives. A fence that goes into winter unprepared with loose hardware, overgrown vegetation or noticeable damage is likely to suffer repairs once ice, snow and wind add extra weight and force.

"Owners may think of fence care as a spring or summer job, but fall can really be when the most important work happens," said Todd Bingham, President of Top Rail Fence. "A fence that isn't properly prepared can suffer structural damage like warped panels, cracks, rust and loose posts once cold weather sets in. Taking preventive steps now can help homeowners avoid emergency repairs or even a full replacement later on."

How to Get the Fence Winter-Ready This Fall

Top Rail Fence recommends the following fall maintenance checklist for homeowners to help get their fence cold winter-ready:

- Tighten Hardware: Inspect the perimeter of the fence and secure any loose screws, bolts, and brackets. Small haps only get worse once winter wind and ice start pulling at them.

- Trim Back Vegetation: Cut down any hanging tree branches or overgrown bushes that hang or press against the fence line, which can add extra weight and pressure during storms.

- Clean & Pressure Wash Debris: Removing dirt and grime helps sealants and stains adhere properly and extends the fence's life. Follow material-specific care. Vinyl fencing should be cleaned with mild detergent while a wire brush can be used to remove rust from metal fencing.

- Apply a Coat of Sealant or Stain: This helps repel moisture that can freeze, expand, and crack materials. Ensure material-specific care is followed. For wood fences, use a waterproof, penetrating sealant, while for metal fencing, apply a rust-resistant sealant.

- Replace Any Broken Panels: A damaged section of the fence with cracked or broken panels is more likely to fail during the winter season, especially under added pressure from ice, snow and wind.

- Reinforce it in Storm-Prone Areas: Homeowners located in severe winter weather-prone areas, consider adding extra reinforcements to the fence, such as extra posts or braces, for additional structural protection.

Not every fence issue is a simple DIY fix as loose posts, sagging sections, and broken panels can be difficult for busy homeowners to tackle alone. Top Rail Fence and their team of experts can help homeowners identify weak spots in the structure and assist in repairs or replacements to the fence.

"If a homeowner spots a leaning post or multiple panels that are cracked, that's the signal to bring in a professional before winter," said Bingham. "Waiting until spring means that fence has to survive an entire season of snow, ice and wind in a weakened state. A quick inspection in the fall can catch small problems while they're still inexpensive and easy to fix."

GROWNSY's Screen-Free Smart Drawing Robot Wins 2026 NAPPA Award

Screen-free drawing toy brings hands-on creative play to families with 150 picture cards and step-by-step guidance

NEW YORK, Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- GROWNSY today announced that its Smart Drawing Robot has won a 2026 National Parenting Product Award (NAPPA). The screen-free toy introduces children to drawing through picture cards, voice prompts, and light guidance, with NAPPA evaluators highlighting its simple setup, recognizable drawings, and extensive picture library.

Designed for children ages 3–8, the Montessori-inspired robot gives families a straightforward way to bring drawing into everyday play. Children scan one of 150 included cards and watch the robot draw the image step by step. They can then trace, color, or try recreating the picture themselves, practicing observation and hand-eye coordination as they explore. No app or Wi-Fi connection is required.

NAPPA's evaluation captured how that experience translated into family play. "Out of the box, the set up was really simple and intuitive," one evaluator wrote. Another described a daughter learning to draw by watching the robot, offering a concrete example of how children can take inspiration from its guided demonstrations.

"Winning a NAPPA Award means a lot for our team because it comes from real parents, testing products in real moments. The Smart Drawing Robot was built to give kids a hands-on, screen-free way to create, and knowing it's delivering on that promise is exactly why we do what we do," said Karen, PR manager at GROWNSY.

The set includes 150 picture cards, 12 washable markers, five drawing pens, a reusable drawing board, and a USB-C charging cable. Sound effects, spoken instructions, and responsive lighting accompany the drawing process. Automatic standby helps conserve battery power between sessions, while lighting adjusts to the surrounding environment.

The Smart Drawing Robot extends GROWNSY's baby care portfolio into creative play, bringing the brand's "Grow smart, made easy" philosophy to another part of family life: helping children explore drawing through an activity parents can easily introduce at home.
