Fitness 19 Releases "How to Use Apps to Effectively Track Your Workouts"

TEMECULA, Calif., Sept. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Fitness 19 has announced the release of its latest resource, "How to Use Apps to Effectively Track Your Workouts." This resource provides an overview of tracking workouts using apps by examining the benefits of digital tracking, how to choose the right app, how to track for maximum gains, and common pitfalls to avoid.

Tracking workouts through apps allows users to have greater consistency in their workouts. Fitness apps allow people to track physical progress and the mental aspects of workouts. When choosing a tracking app, users should choose the app that they enjoy the most and offers them what they are looking for. Generally, tracking apps fall into three categories: strength trackers (allow users to log sets, reps, and RPE), endurance trackers (allow users to track splits, elevation gain, and heart rate data), and holistic trackers (allow users to monitor workouts, nutrition, sleep, and recovery metrics).

To track for maximum gains, people should monitor rest intervals because these vary based on the type of workout. Apps can also help people increase their workouts by tracking weight, reps, and time. Many apps allow users to log their rate of perceived exertion (RPE), which allows users to track how hard a set felt to them. "In a world that often feels chaotic, having a digital log of your physical progress provides a rare sense of control," according to Fitness 19.

WASHINGTON, Sept. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. News & World Report, the global authority in rankings and consumer advice, today recognizes the winners of the 2027 Life Insurance Companies Awards. These accolades identify leading life insurance providers to help consumers evaluate policy options and choose coverage that fits their financial goals and budget.

The awards release comes as Americans enter the fall financial planning season, offering timely guidance as families gather for the upcoming holidays and evaluate their coverage needs.

"Selecting life insurance requires clear, reliable data so policyholders can make informed financial decisions," said Rachael Brennan, insurance reporter at U.S. News. "U.S. News' Life Insurance Companies Awards combine empirical industry metrics with direct policyholder feedback to highlight insurers that perform well in specific areas, including whole life coverage, term options, senior plans and ongoing support."

Nationwide earns the title of Best Life Insurance Company Overall, scoring highest across key evaluation metrics. MassMutual earns Best Life Insurance Company for Whole Life for its permanent policy offerings, while Protective earns Best Life Insurance Company for Term Life for its flexible term options.

USAA takes Best Life Insurance Company for Seniors for its specialized coverage options, and Mutual of Omaha earns Best Life Insurance Company for Customer Service based on policyholder feedback in U.S. News' annual survey.

Life Insurance Companies Award Winners

Methodology

U.S. News & World Report has evaluated life insurance companies since 2019. To determine the 2027 Life Insurance Companies award winners, U.S. News researched 17 life insurance companies, surveyed 407 policyholders who purchased coverage within the past five years, collected 657 National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) data points, and analyzed 3,081 company and policy features.

The awards methodology measures performance across three main areas:

- Customer Satisfaction: Based on policyholder ratings regarding policy value, claim outcomes, available discounts, and service interactions.

- Company and Service Features: Assessment of coverage types, rider add-ons, available discounts, and geographic availability.

- Cost: Comparison of baseline sample premiums and full pricing ranges across various coverage levels.

DoubleZero Adds Phoenix Perpetual Futures to Multi-Venue Market-Data Platform, Edge

Phoenix on DoubleZero Edge gives subscribers a faster path to Solana perpetual futures market-data, an advantage upwards of 750ms+

NEW YORK, Sept. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- DoubleZero Foundation (doublezero.xyz) today announced that trading firms can now access perps market data from Phoenix, Hyperliquid, and Kalshi through a single connection on Edge without building separate infrastructure for each venue. Built by Ellipsis Labs, Phoenix is Solana's native perpetuals exchange and the third perpetuals venue available through Edge. Following the addition of Kalshi crypto perpetual futures in August, and Hyperliquid perps earlier this month, DoubleZero is launching two new Phoenix feeds including top-of-book & trades, and market-by-price data, with complete coverage of all Phoenix perps markets. Early benchmarking shows the Solana perps book on Phoenix arriving to traders 750ms+ faster over DoubleZero Edge.

For trading firms, DoubleZero Edge's model is designed to make it progressively easier to add each subsequent market data source. Once connected to DoubleZero Edge, subscribers can access market data from additional venues as they are added without rebuilding their infrastructure for each market. Edge gives firms a single data distribution mechanism to consume real-time data across an increasing number of perps venues.

"Solana is home to incredibly fast markets, but you can only trade as fast as the market's data actually reaches you," said Austin Federa, co-founder of DoubleZero. "DoubleZero Edge is built to keep adding new venues into their stream without making firms rebuild their entire stack each time. Just point your favorite LLM at DoubleZero and start feeding your agents market signals from where price discovery is happening." Shipping new feeds has become a repeatable motion for engineers at Malbec Labs. Solana was Edge's first data feed. Then Kalshi. Then Hyperliquid. And now Phoenix is today, with many more venues in the pipeline."

Phoenix also introduces a new type of feed to Edge: it is the platform's first decoded Solana-based market data feed. Until now, Solana data on Edge arrived as a firehose of raw blockchain data that each firm had to reassemble before it could trade. For Phoenix, DoubleZero shifts that work onto the network itself. DoubleZero ingests Solana shreds sourced from Edge's own multicast, decodes Phoenix's onchain program state, and folds it into a structured market-by-price order book covering all Phoenix perps markets. Subscribers get the finished book, matching the same kind of object they already consume from venues like Kalshi and Hyperliquid, rather than raw transaction pieces.

Blockworks shows that trading volume on Phoenix has grown 15x reaching $776.7M in Q2 2026, and $2.0B in Q3 (to date), pushing cumulative perpetuals volume past $2.9B. Perpetuals trade around the clock, which is exactly where automated traders, bots, market makers, algorithmic strategies, need fast, consistent access to pricing and order book data. A dropped update or a few milliseconds of jitter is the difference between a filled order and a missed one. That same need extends to AI agents. Making Phoenix data directly available gives traders and trading firms a machine-readable market data source agents can use to analyze markets, spot signals, and inform trading strategies. DoubleZero Edge delivers that feed over a dedicated network, built for machine-speed consumers first.

The Phoenix feed is available now through DoubleZero Edge. Traders, firms and automated AI trading systems can subscribe directly at: doublezero.xyz/phoenix. Reporters are also invited to test the feed and can email [email protected] for access.

DoubleZero is a protocol that enables a global fiber network for high-performance data distribution. Controllership 2030: Predictions Study and Webcast Panel

Significant increases in AI usage and skill requirements expected

CHICAGO, Sept. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Controllers Council, a member association and community platform focused on corporate accounting and finance, announces the Controllership 2030™ Predictions Study and webcast panel focused on how the roles and responsibilities of corporate financial controllers and related executives will evolve over the next 5 years with AI and automation, talent and skill shortages, amidst rapidly changing business environments.

The Controllership 2030 Prediction Study was based on a national survey of controllers, CFOs and related executives conducted in July to September 2026, across a wide range of industries and company sizes.

Key findings include nearly universal (98%) usage of AI and automation expected by 2030 compared to 86% usage today, coupled with significant increases in expected AI duties and skill requirements. Many transactional accounting and finance functions will be automated, changing the controllers' duties and responsibilities to a hybrid of AI, data and technology management coupled with technical accounting review.

"This important Controllership 2030: Predictions Study identifies AI and automation metrics today, along with a roadmap of the evolution of the controllership role, and the entire corporate finance organization," states Neil Brown, Controllers Council Executive Director. ConnectDER Hires Chad Conway, Former Tesla & SPAN Leader, As VP of Product

Former SPAN founding team member and Tesla veteran joins market-leading meter socket adapter manufacturer to drive next phase of product innovation

PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- ConnectDER, the leading manufacturer of meter socket adapters (MSAs), or meter collars, for solar, home battery, and EV charging installations, today announced the hiring of Chad Conway as VP of Product amid rapid installer adoption of its devices. Conway will oversee product strategy and development across ConnectDER's suite of hardware solutions, focusing on advancing the company's flagship IslandDER™ product line, launched in 2025 to unlock seamless whole-home backup.

Conway brings 15 years of experience building hardware for the clean energy transition. He was a founding team member and Head of Products at SPAN, the smart electric panel maker, where he led development of the SPAN Panel from an idea to installations in thousands of homes across the U.S. His focus throughout has been total cost to the customer. At SPAN, that meant integrating the technology layer directly into the busbar so electricians could install the panel without extra field steps. His team's work also helped modernize the National Electrical Code, clearing a path to lower the cost of electrifying homes nationwide.

Before SPAN, Conway spent six years on Tesla's Energy team, helping take the Powerwall from concept to more than 50,000 annual deployments. In the aftermath of Hurricanes Irma and Maria, he led on-the-ground teams working with local communities to restore power and design more resilient energy systems, work that reiterated the importance of resilience as a design priority.

"ConnectDER has built its reputation on product innovation, quality, and close installer collaboration," said Ivo Steklac, ConnectDER President & CEO. "As rising electricity costs and more frequent power outages drive growing demand for residential storage, the industry's biggest hurdle isn't battery availability—it's job site complexity that drives up total cost to the customer. Chad's experience scaling category-defining platforms at SPAN and Tesla makes him uniquely equipped to guide our product roadmap and keep our adapters the fastest, most cost-effective option for installers nationwide."

"Having spent my career building hardware platforms across grid storage, smart panels, and EVs, I see ConnectDER's technology as the key to unlocking mass adoption of batteries, solar, and vehicle-to-home power," said Chad Conway, ConnectDER VP of Product. "Nearly a third of the country is now paying more for a grid that performs worse. The future of home energy depends on giving installers simple solutions that cut installation time and give homeowners an affordable, resilient path to energy independence. ConnectDER is uniquely positioned to lead that shift, and I'm looking forward to driving our next wave of product development."

Conway's hire comes as American homeowners face a worsening tradeoff between cost and reliability. A recent county-by-county analysis of the U.S. grid found that in nearly one in three counties, electricity prices rose over the past decade even as outages got worse, meaning millions of Americans are paying more for a grid that performs worse than it used to. That combination is accelerating demand for home battery storage and backup power, and putting pressure on installers to deploy it faster and more affordably.

Enter ConnectDER. Traditional interconnect and home backup methods often require complex, expensive panel reconfigurations and days of labor. ConnectDER's patented MSAs solve this bottleneck by connecting solar, storage, and EV chargers directly at the meter socket, saving homeowners thousands of dollars and allowing installers to complete jobs in a fraction of the time. The advantage is compounding as many of the 4 million U.S. residents with existing rooftop solar retrofit their systems to participate in battery incentive programs like Virtual Power Plants (VPPs).

A core focus for Conway will be deepening ConnectDER's IslandDER™ capabilities, integrating higher levels of onboard functionality and bringing on new OEM partnerships. IslandDER™ has become the standard Microgrid Interconnect Device (MID) option for installers, eliminating the need for circuit relocations and subpanels on whole-home backup jobs. It's compatible with systems from SolarEdge, FranklinWH, Lunar Energy, EcoFlow, and Fox ESS, with additional partnerships already under agreement.

ConnectDER's devices have received major utility approvals across the U.S. for installation directly into the utility meter socket, including in California and Arizona, where MSAs are particularly beneficial due to the prevalence of meter-main combination panels on homes that would otherwise require a full day of circuitry work and reconfiguration. Where meter socket adapters are not yet approved by the local utility, ConnectDER's IslandDER™ device may be installed in an additional, separate meter socket without the need for utility approval. Visit connectder.com/installation to learn more.

About ConnectDER

Big Idea Ventures and Mars Petcare select three startups for the 2026 Next Generation Pet Food Program

In collaboration with AAK, Bühler, Givaudan, and Ingredion, the program advances innovative proteins, fats, and oils intended to reduce the environmental footprint of pet food ingredients.

NEW YORK, Sept. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Big Idea Ventures and Mars Petcare, together with partners AAK, Bühler, Givaudan, and Ingredion, have selected three startups for the 2026 Next Generation Pet Food Program. Now in its third year, the program identifies and accelerates breakthrough materials with the potential to reduce the environmental footprint of pet food, including alternative proteins, fats, oils, and novel ingredients.

This year's program attracted 83 applications from 33 countries. Nearly half came from the Asia-Pacific region, reflecting the program's deliberate expansion in Asia and the region's growing role in ingredient innovation focused on addressing sustainability challenges. This year's applicants faced stricter application criteria and delivered against the program's request for ventures with a higher level of commercial maturity. The cohort signaled an acceleration in alternative ingredient innovation and a transition from proof of concept towards supply chain readiness.

Over half of the applications focused on dry proteins, a third were geared towards wet proteins, and the remaining across fats and oils; produced through plant-based processing, fermentation, insect farming, and other emerging methods. After a multistage selection process evaluating innovation, scalability, potential sustainability benefits, and commercial potential, three companies were selected for this year's cohort.

The selected companies are:

- EcoBean — This Polish company valorizes spent coffee grounds from industrial production, creating high-value ingredients for cosmetics, food, and pet applications.

- Loopworm — This Indian insect biotech company manufactures, high-performance protein and fat ingredients from silkworms using proprietary technology.

- Space Ark Biomedical — This Taiwanese company upcycles okara and brewer's spent grain into functional protein ingredients, powered by enzyme technology and precision fermentation.

Together, the cohort demonstrates how side-stream valorization, insect biotechnology, and fermentation can unlock new sources of protein and functional ingredients for pet nutrition, each drawing on feedstocks that are abundant or underused in existing industrial supply chains.

Elisabetta Pierangelo, VP R&D, Mars Pet Nutrition said, "This program is a powerful opportunity to bring together ingredient innovators, scientists, manufacturers and industry experts around a common goal. Together, we're focused on accelerating innovation and turning promising ideas into scalable solutions that could help advance pet food systems with a lower environmental footprint and deliver high-quality nutrition."

"The next generation of pet nutrition will be shaped by technologies that have the potential to reduce environmental impacts while maintaining performance," said Andrew D. Ive, Founder and Managing General Partner at Big Idea Ventures. "What makes this program powerful is the ecosystem behind it. By bringing together breakthrough science, industry expertise, and strategic partners, we can help de-risk promising innovations, validate their commercial potential, and accelerate their path into real-world supply chains. Together with Mars Petcare and our partners around the world, we're helping build the capabilities needed to scale the future of pet food."

The startups will receive expert guidance, access to R&D facilities, tailored opportunities and a $15,000 cash prize to refine their solutions and accelerate their path to market.

The program will culminate at the Asia-Pacific Agri-Food Innovation Summit in Singapore on October 27–29, 2026, where the cohort will pitch to an international audience of industry leaders, investors, and decision makers.

Built on decades of field expertise, Endure Critical Solutions expands its North America reach with Toronto-based Powerwave Energy Solutions. Endure provides OEM-agnostic UPS and battery services, including preventive and predictive maintenance, 24/7 emergency response, battery lifecycle solutions, BESS, generator and switchgear support, and asset management for mission-critical facilities.

MADISON, Wis., Sept. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Endure Critical Solutions (Endure) today announced its expansion as a national critical power services platform, adding Toronto-based Powerwave Energy Solutions (PES) extending their reach into Southern Ontario. Endure delivers vendor-neutral UPS and Battery services for data centers and mission-critical facilities across North America.

"We are excited to welcome the Powerwave team into the Endure Critical family, which will significantly expand our ability to support our North American partners in the Greater Toronto market," said Mike Bergum, CEO of Endure Critical Solutions. "We've been impressed with the knowledge and dedication that the Powerwave team has for their customers and their level of technical expertise."

For Powerwave Energy Solutions customers, the people, support, and service they rely on remain the same. The same team responds to your call and shows up on site — now backed by Endure's expanded reach, resources, and capabilities.

"A little under 20 years ago, I founded Powerwave with the intent of providing a competent, easy-to-work-with, multi-vendor UPS service provider," said Ken Stub, Founder/Director of Powerwave and BAE Batteries Canada. "I believed the best way to accomplish this was to have a dedicated group of people who excelled in their profession (critically) and who liked where they worked. In this I was successful." Ken continued, "As I approached retirement, I took great care in aligning with a successor who had the same core business values and who was best in class in our industry. I am very pleased that we have partnered with Endure Critical Solutions and believe that my original intentions will be expanded coast to coast."

Endure Critical Solutions recently united Quality Power Solutions of Madison with Power Storage Solutions of Dallas, combining decades of field experience in UPS service, DC battery and energy storage under one platform. Together, these companies offer customers a single, accountable partner for the full lifecycle of their critical power infrastructure.

"This acquisition enables us to align our core strategic strengths around a shared vision of creating long-term value for our clients and partners from day one. We are not simply launching a new business line; we are delivering a focused response to an evolving and growing industry landscape. We look forward to setting a new standard for the delivery of UPS and Battery Services," said Frank Monticelli, Chief Strategy Officer of Endure Critical Solutions.
