Iconic Cycling Event Becomes First Athletic Fundraiser to Launch Under Unified Team In Training Program

WASHINGTON, Sept. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Blood Cancer United® is announcing the next chapter in the evolution of its athletic fundraising programs: Velo Palmetto will become the first event previously operated outside of Team In Training® (TNT) to officially launch under the organization's iconic endurance fundraising program.

The transition reflects Blood Cancer United's continued effort to bring more supporters together under one unified mission and community. The announcement follows the organization's broader transformation to Blood Cancer United last year and mirrors the integration of the new brand across signature campaigns such as Light The Night.

Beginning with this year's event, cyclists participating in Velo Palmetto will experience the same mission-driven community and connection that have defined TNT for more than three decades. The four-day cycling experience, set for October 22-25 through Greenville, South Carolina's scenic upstate and blue ridge foothills, remains the organization's premier cycle experience while becoming part of the world's largest charity endurance training program.

"Just as Blood Cancer United was created to bring more people together in support of blood cancer patients and families, we're now bringing more of our athletic fundraising experiences together under Team In Training," said Coker Powell, EVP and Chief Revenue Officer, Blood Cancer United. "TNT has inspired generations of supporters to push beyond what they thought possible in service of something bigger than themselves. By welcoming Velo Palmetto into the TNT family, we're strengthening that community and creating even more opportunities for participants to make a meaningful impact."

The transition is part of a wider effort to unite Blood Cancer United's athletic events under the TNT banner, welcoming more athletes, adventurers, and supporters into a single connected community while preserving the traditions and experiences participants value most. Additional athletic events, including Climb2Cure, Scenic Shore Bike Tour and Shred For Red, will join TNT, as well.

TNT was founded in 1988 when Bruce Cleland recruited 38 runners to train for the New York City Marathon in honor of his daughter, Georgia, a leukemia survivor. Since then, the program has grown into the world's largest charity endurance training program and has inspired hundreds of thousands of participants.

"Our hearts are full seeing TNT grow and shine in ways that would have made my dad beam with pride," said Samantha Cleland Manekin on behalf of the Cleland family. "We're deeply grateful and excited for the next chapter of TNT, carried forward by the spirit of unity that defines this family. We hope you'll join us, whether you train, volunteer, or cheer, because you're what makes this movement unstoppable."

TNT is one of several peer-to-peer fundraising programs helping Blood Cancer United reach its Bold Goal of giving patients more than one million additional years of life by 2040, which means more birthdays, more graduations, and more moments and memories for people impacted by blood cancer. Among those participating in this year's Velo Palmetto is Blood Cancer United's Chief Medical Officer Gwen Nichols, M.D., who will ride alongside other cyclists to raise funds and give more time to patients and their families.

"Every day, I see the urgent need for continued research, support, and advocacy on behalf of people facing blood cancer," said Nichols. "That's why I'm proud to ride alongside TNT participants who are turning their passion into action and impact for those we serve."

Funds raised through Velo Palmetto help advance Blood Cancer United's mission to cure blood cancer and improve the quality of life of all patients and their families. Since its founding in 1949, the organization has invested more than $2 billion in research, helped advance many of today's breakthrough blood cancer treatments, and provides free education, support services, and advocacy for patients, families and caregivers.

In HelloNation, Custom Pool Experts Danny Franke and Mike Scheck Explain What Affects the Pool Construction Timeline
Original HTML

A New Article Outlines the Phases and Variables That Determine How Long a Custom Pool Project Takes from Start to Finish

ALPHARETTA, Ga., Sept. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Why do so many homeowners underestimate how much time the pool construction timeline actually requires from the first conversation to completed build? A HelloNation article breaks down each phase of a custom pool project in Alpharetta and explains the variables that shape how long the overall schedule takes.

The article explains that the pool construction timeline begins before any physical work takes place. Design development involves finalizing pool shape, size, depth configuration, interior finishes, coping, tile, and equipment selections, and typically takes four to six weeks for a straightforward project. More detailed designs with custom water features or integrated outdoor living structures require additional planning time. The decisions made during this phase feed directly into the permit application, so completing them thoroughly before submitting for permits avoids delays later.

Permitting is among the most variable phases of the pool construction timeline because it depends in part on processes outside the contractor's direct control. The article notes that Georgia requires building permits for all pool construction, and projects in Alpharetta are reviewed by the city's building department. Processing time varies based on application volume, project complexity, and whether revisions are required before approval is granted. Some projects may also require additional approvals related to drainage or stormwater management, which can extend this phase further.

Weather is a real variable in the Atlanta metro area that affects outdoor construction schedules throughout the year. The article notes that Georgia summers bring intense heat and afternoon thunderstorms that can interrupt work and delay concrete curing, while winter months can produce cold snaps and extended rain periods that slow site activity. Contractors experienced in this climate build schedule contingencies for weather disruption, but the pool construction timeline is always subject to conditions that fall outside anyone's control.

Material availability has become a more significant scheduling factor in recent years. The article explains that pool equipment, specialty tile, premium coping materials, and custom water feature components each carry lead times that vary depending on the manufacturer and current supply conditions. Experienced contractors order long-lead materials as early as possible in the project to reduce the risk of delays caused by a component arriving late. Homeowners who finalize material selections promptly during the design phase help keep the project on schedule.

Once permits are secured and materials are in order, excavation and site preparation mark the beginning of visible construction activity. The article describes how, after excavation, steel reinforcement is placed and inspected before the pool shell is applied using gunite or shotcrete, a process that typically takes one to two days. The shell then requires a curing period of approximately 28 days before interior finish work can begin, and this structural requirement cannot be compressed. Plumbing, electrical, and equipment installation follow the curing period, each requiring inspection before the next phase begins.

From the first design conversation to the final walkthrough, most custom pool projects in Alpharetta take between six and ten months. Custom Pool Experts emphasize that beginning the planning process early, making design decisions efficiently, and working with a contractor who communicates clearly about the schedule at each phase are the most reliable ways to keep a project on track. Custom Pool Experts recommend starting conversations in fall or winter to allow adequate lead time before the spring construction season begins.

What Affects the Timeline for Building a Custom Pool? features insights from Danny Franke and Mike Scheck, Custom Pool Experts of Alpharetta, Georgia, in HelloNation.

Kubota Introduces All-New BX90 Sub-Compact Tractor Series: Bigger, Better, More Capable

America's Long-Time Trusted Sub-Compact Tractor Line Just Got a Major Upgrade

GRAPEVINE, Texas, Sept. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Kubota Tractor Corporation, the #1-selling tractor brand in the USA for 20 years running,* today unveiled its all-new sub-compact tractor line, the BX90 Series. As the pioneer of the sub-compact category, Kubota introduced the original BX Series in 2000, and 26 years later, the company is once again reinventing the segment by introducing five new models with three trim levels: the BX2190, BX2390 Deluxe, and BX2690 Premium, plus the backhoe-equipped BX2390S and BX2690S Premium. The new BX90 Series represents a complete platform redesign built specifically around what property owners want: all-day comfort, real loader power, and exceptional mowing performance, all in one sub-compact machine.

"The BX90 Series was designed around what today's property owners value most: productivity, comfort, and choice, while building on the quality and versatility that has made Kubota a trusted leader in sub-compact tractors," said Matt McDonald, Senior Product Operations Manager, Kubota Tractor Corporation. "From intuitive side-by-side HST pedals to enhanced loader and mower systems, every improvement is intended to help customers accomplish more with ease. And with three distinct trim levels, customers can choose the BX90 that best fits their property, applications, and priorities. At the top of the lineup, the Premium model brings modern displays, programmable settings, and advanced controls traditionally associated with larger tractors, combining the proven BX experience with technology designed around how customers work."

Three Core Advancements: Loader Capability, Mower Performance and Operator Comfort

Three platform-wide advancements form the foundation of every model in the new BX90 Series: improved loader capability, heavy-duty mower performance and more intuitive operation. Together, these enhancements elevate productivity, versatility and operator comfort across the entire BX90 lineup.

- Increased Loader Capability: The BX90 Series raises loader productivity with redesigned LA355 and LA405 loaders offering lift capacities of up to 721 and 904 pounds, respectively. The BX2390 and BX2690 models pair increased hydraulic flow and pressure with quicker cycle times and stronger response at lower engine speeds. Dual bucket cylinders, an improved rollback angle, protected hose routing, and an easier-to-align loader cradle are designed to support efficient operation, improve material retention, and enable more convenient loader attachment and removal.

- Heavy-Duty Mower Performance: The new 54-inch and 60-inch mower decks combine durable welded-steel construction with the flexibility to choose either pin-on or drive-over capability. The available Swift-Mount™ auto coupling driveline connects as the tractor travels over the deck, making attachment faster and more convenient.

- Operator Comfort and Intuitive Control: The all-new side-by-side HST pedals create a more natural operating position and make forward and reverse changes feel intuitive, helping operators work with greater comfort, confidence, and control.

Five BX90 Models Ready to Work Year-Round

The BX90 Series delivers the year-round versatility property owners expect from Kubota, from clearing snow and preparing gardens to mowing lawns, managing seasonal cleanup and moving material. With enhanced loader capability, multiple mower options and compatibility with a wide range of implements, the BX90 is equipped to take on the changing demands of property ownership. Five available models give customers the flexibility to choose the capability, convenience, price point, and technology that best fit the way they work.

- BX2190 (19.3 gross horsepower): An accessible entry point to the BX90 lineup, combining essential BX versatility with the platform-wide enhancements and the LA355 loader. Its increased horsepower also supports larger tires and 60-inch mower-deck compatibility.

- BX2390 Deluxe (21.6 gross horsepower): Balances capability, convenience and value with redesigned styling, compatibility with the high-performance LA405 loader, and upgraded controls that include electronically controlled PTO engagement, three-point hitch position control, telescopic stabilizers and simplified mower-deck height adjustment.

- BX2690 Premium (23.9 gross horsepower): The most advanced BX model to date, featuring an electronically controlled engine, full-color LCD display, programmable engine-speed settings, and joystick-integrated throttle-up functionality, which provides on-demand, fingertip access to preset engine speeds for faster hydraulic response and more engine power during loader work.

- BX2390S and BX2690S Premium: Two backhoe-equipped configurations featuring the new BT604 backhoe, a dedicated flip-up seat and an automatic stabilizer lock. The BX2690S Premium adds the LA405 loader and enhanced hydraulic performance for greater working capability.

The new BX90 Series will be available at Kubota authorized dealerships beginning in early 2027. For more information, visit KubotaUSA.com/BX.

MIAMI, Sept. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- eMed, the digital healthcare company transforming access to care through technology-enabled diagnostics and treatment, and The Female Quotient (The FQ), the global media and experiences company that connects more than 8 million influential leaders across 30 industries to the people, ideas and conversations shaping business and culture, today announced a strategic partnership designed to elevate women's health as a business, economic and societal imperative — and accelerate action to improve how women access and experience healthcare.

Through the partnership, eMed and The Female Quotient will bring together leaders across healthcare and business through a series of discussions and activations at key Female Quotient events throughout the year. The collaboration will officially launch at the FQ Health Summit in New York on October 14, where executives and experts will explore how innovation can help address longstanding disparities and accelerate a more connected, accessible and consumer-driven model of care. As part of the summit, Chloe Ferro and Olivia Ferro, founders of sheMed, will join the conversation, bringing their perspectives on advancing women's health and improving access to more personalized care.

"Women's health isn't a niche issue. It's one of the greatest healthcare and economic opportunities of our lifetime," said Linda Yaccarino, Chief Executive Officer of eMed. "This partnership is about bringing the right leaders together to turn innovation into action, create better outcomes and finally close the women's health gap. It also creates an unprecedented opportunity to add $1 trillion a year to the global economy by 2040."

Through executive discussions and future activations across Female Quotient events, the partnership will create opportunities for cross-sector collaboration and spotlight innovative approaches that make healthcare more accessible, personalized and connected.

As employers take a greater role in supporting workforce well-being, the partnership will focus on critical issues shaping the future of women's health, including preventive care, affordability, access, emerging technologies and the role employers can play in driving awareness and action.

"Women's health affects far more than an individual appointment. It shapes whether people can participate fully at work, care for their families and plan for their futures," said Shelley Zalis, Founder and CEO of The Female Quotient. "Our partnership with eMed is built on a shared belief that care should be easier to access and navigate, and that employers and healthcare leaders each have a role in making that happen. Our goal is to turn those conversations into changes women can feel in their everyday lives."

Through the partnership, eMed will help spotlight how virtual care, at-home diagnostics, and connected technologies can remove barriers to care and improve health outcomes for women across every stage of life.

The FQ Health Summit on October 14 in New York City marks the beginning of an ongoing series of conversations and collaborative programming at select Female Quotient events, with additional details to be announced in the coming months.

YIQIAO Group Develops Ultra High Pressure Hydraulic Hose Solutions for Demanding Machinery Applications

The hydraulic hose manufacturer is developing high pressure and super flexible hose solutions for construction machinery and other industrial equipment where pressure, routing and durability are key requirements.

GUANGZHOU, China, Sept. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- YIQIAO Group is developing ultra high pressure hydraulic hose solutions for construction machinery and other demanding industrial equipment, with a focus on pressure performance, flexibility and durability. The company's development work includes ultra high pressure and super flexible hydraulic hose series for hydraulic systems that require reliable performance under demanding operating conditions.

Higher Pressure Raises Hose Requirements

Hydraulic systems are being used in equipment that must deliver high power within increasingly demanding operating environments. For hydraulic hose, this creates requirements that go beyond pressure capability alone.

A hose may need to withstand internal pressure while also handling repeated movement, tight routing spaces, temperature changes, vibration and continuous operation. These conditions can place different demands on the hose at the same time.

For equipment manufacturers and hydraulic system designers, hose selection therefore involves several factors, including pressure requirements, flexibility, operating conditions, service life and compatibility with the wider hydraulic system.

Developing for Pressure and Flexibility

YIQIAO has more than 20 years of technical experience in rubber hose research and development and manufacturing. Its product range includes hydraulic hose, industrial hose and specialty rubber hose, with development covering ultra high pressure and super flexible hose solutions.

The company's SC+ and SN+ series are part of this product development work. The ultra high pressure range addresses applications where hydraulic systems operate under demanding pressure conditions, while super flexible hose solutions are developed for applications where hose routing and movement require greater flexibility.

Developing these types of hoses requires attention to the relationship between hose construction, materials, reinforcement and manufacturing processes. The objective is to develop hose products that can meet the requirements of specific hydraulic systems and equipment applications rather than focusing on pressure performance in isolation.

Designed Around Machinery Applications

Hydraulic hose performance is closely connected to the equipment in which it is installed. Construction machinery, industrial equipment and other hydraulic systems can place different requirements on hose performance depending on working conditions and system design.

Construction machinery can involve frequent movement and changing hose positions during operation. Other industrial applications may place greater emphasis on pressure, temperature, fluid compatibility or continuous service.

YIQIAO develops a broader range of rubber hose and related hydraulic products to support these requirements. Its product portfolio includes hydraulic hose, industrial hose, hose assemblies, hose fittings and other hydraulic components.

This product coverage also supports customers looking for multiple hose and hydraulic component categories from one supplier. For equipment manufacturers, distributors and industrial purchasers, the approach can simplify product matching and procurement across related components.

From Hose Development to Manufacturing

YIQIAO combines manufacturing and trading operations with in-house technical development. Its manufacturing network includes Guangzhou Lianda Rubber & Plastic Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Lianying New Rubber & Plastic Materials Co., Ltd. and Guangzhou Lianke Machinery Parts Co., Ltd.

The three manufacturing bases have dedicated R&D teams and production and testing equipment supporting the development and manufacture of rubber hose and related products.

YIQIAO also has experience in independently manufacturing both rubber hose and hose fittings. This background has allowed the company to develop knowledge around the compatibility between hoses and fittings, supporting its wider product range of hose assemblies and hydraulic components.

The integrated manufacturing and supply model enables YIQIAO to provide multiple product categories through a one-stop procurement approach, from hydraulic hose and industrial hose to hose fittings, assemblies and related machinery parts.

Supporting Global Industrial Supply

YIQIAO supplies customers in China and overseas markets, including South America, Canada, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and South Africa. Its brands include YIQIAO and LENFLEX®, which are registered in multiple countries and regions.

The company operates under an ISO 9001 quality management system and holds certifications and qualifications including China Customs AEO Advanced Certification, China Classification Society certification, MSHA certification and EU REACH certification.

YIQIAO also reports long-term business relationships with around 20 partners that have worked with the company for more than 15 years. These relationships reflect the role of consistent product quality, technical support and supply capability in industrial hose procurement.

As hydraulic equipment continues to place greater demands on hose performance, YIQIAO will continue developing ultra high pressure hydraulic hose, super flexible hydraulic hose and related rubber hose products for construction machinery and industrial applications.

CHARLESTON, W.Va., Sept. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- In recognition of American Water Works Association's Annual Source Water Protection Week (September 27 to October 3), West Virginia American Water is highlighting its commitment to providing customers with safe, clean, reliable water services.

"Protecting our source water is the first step in providing safe, clean, reliable drinking water," said Scott Wyman, West Virginia American Water President. "Keeping our rivers, lakes and groundwater free from pollution reduces potential risks that could negatively impact the water supply and keeps treatment costs down."

American Water's Source Water Protection Program provides a structured framework for assessing risks, engaging stakeholders and implementing proactive measures to safeguard drinking water supplies.

The company's source water protection efforts include:

- Algae Monitoring with FlowCam: Our algae monitoring program uses FlowCam flow-imaging technology to rapidly capture and analyze high-resolution images of algae and cyanobacteria in source-water samples. This capability supports earlier identification of changing biological conditions, improves organism classification and enumeration, and informs timely source-water and treatment decisions.

- Active Emergency Management Involvement: We actively coordinate with emergency-management agencies and response partners to strengthen spill notification, information sharing, sampling readiness, and incident-response procedures. This involvement helps support a coordinated, timely response to events that could affect drinking-water sources.

- ORSANCO Participation: Our involvement with the Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission supports interstate coordination on source-water protection, water-quality monitoring, harmful algal blooms, organics detection, and spill response throughout the Ohio River Basin.

- West Virginia Forestry and EPA Drinking-Water Collaboration: We engage with West Virginia forestry partners and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on the connection between healthy forested watersheds and reliable drinking-water sources, helping advance partnership-based source-water protection, watershed stewardship, and long-term risk reduction.

- Elk River Upstream Monitoring Pilot: Our ongoing pilot program is evaluating upstream monitoring equipment along the Elk River to provide awareness of water-quality changes at locations above our drinking-water intake. The pilot is intended to assess equipment performance, establish baseline and seasonal conditions, and strengthen operational response capabilities.

Read more about how the company strengthens operational readiness, uses technology to stay ahead of water quality challenges, builds stronger communities through partnership and prepares for emerging issues through recent case studies in states across our service areas here.

"Source water protection is a year-round effort that requires community collaboration," said Nicholas Kevey, West Virginia American Water Source Water Protection Program Manager. "We all play a role in protecting and improving drinking water sources."

During Source Water Protection Week, West Virginia American Water is encouraging individuals to take the following actions and incorporate them into their year-round practices:

- Plant landscaping around homes or businesses with more permeable surfaces, such as mulch, that allow water to soak into the ground.

- Do not over-apply chemicals to plants and avoid application immediately before it rains.

- Keep litter, pet waste and yard waste out of streets and storm drains. Pet waste contains bacteria that can find its way into waterways through runoff.

- Select non-toxic or less toxic alternatives to typical household products, such as cleaning agents.

- Dispose of pharmaceuticals by taking them to collection sites, where available. Don't flush them down the toilet!

- Use hazardous waste collection sites and services to dispose of items such as chemicals, paints, motor oil and batteries. Report any hazardous material spills, illegal dumping or suspicious activity to local or state authorities.
