In HelloNation, Non-Revenue Water in Aging New England Systems Examined by Utility Technology Expert Marty Mazzella of Sudbury
Image File

A new HelloNation article outlines practical strategies for water utilities to identify and reduce water loss in older distribution systems.

SUDBURY, Mass., Oct. 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- How can water utilities in New England identify and reduce non-revenue water before it quietly drains their operating budgets for years at a time? A HelloNation article takes on that question directly and offers utility managers a practical framework for understanding where losses come from and how to catch them early.

The HelloNation article explains that non-revenue water refers to any water that is treated and pumped into a distribution system but never billed to a customer. The gap between what a system produces and what it collects revenue for can persist for years without anyone identifying the full scope of the loss. The article notes that the problem is especially common in New England, where many distribution systems were built decades ago and are now showing significant signs of age.

The article describes three broad categories that contribute to non-revenue water. Real losses, which include leaks in mains, service lines, and storage facilities, tend to be the largest contributor in aging systems and the most difficult to identify without intentional monitoring. Apparent losses cover meter inaccuracies and unauthorized consumption. Unbilled authorized consumption includes legitimate system activities such as firefighting and main flushing that are never charged to an account. In older New England systems, real losses are where the article focuses the most attention.

The HelloNation article outlines how utilities calculate non-revenue water through a water balance, measuring total system input over a set period and subtracting total billed volume. The article notes that most industry guidance treats a non-revenue water rate above ten percent as a signal that further investigation is needed, and that many older systems in the region are already well above that threshold.

Utility Technology Experts understand the value of proactive monitoring, and the article details several practical approaches. Elevated minimum night flow is described as one of the most reliable early warning signs. Between midnight and four in the morning, customer demand is at its lowest, and any flow that exceeds what legitimate overnight use can explain is likely escaping through a leak somewhere in the network. Tracking those overnight flow levels consistently and comparing them against historical baselines gives a utility an early signal before any visible damage occurs.

The article also describes how zone-level data helps utilities narrow down where losses are developing. When a distribution network is divided into district metered areas and consumption trends are tracked at that scale, unexplained increases in a specific zone often point to a developing problem in that area. Utility Technology Experts recognize that in systems where pipe materials range from cast iron to early plastic, those anomalies can appear weeks or months before a leak surfaces or triggers a customer complaint.

Customer-level meter data adds another layer of visibility, the article notes. Comparing a customer's current usage to their own historical patterns can reveal aging meters that are under-registering due to wear, contributing to apparent losses without any visible field problem. The article concludes that utilities willing to investigate anomalies early rather than explaining them away tend to experience fewer major failures and more predictable operating costs over time.

How to Reduce Non-Revenue Water in Older New England Distribution Systems features insights from Marty Mazzella, Utility Technology Expert of Sudbury, Massachusetts, in HelloNation.

Incognia Launches AI Agent Detection for Financial Institutions

New capabilities look beyond agent identity to assess the risk behind individual AI-initiated actions

SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- As AI agents begin making purchases, payments and account changes on behalf of consumers, financial institutions face a new challenge: knowing an AI agent is legitimate does not necessarily mean the action it is taking is authorized by the person behind it.

Incognia, the leader in cross-device risk intelligence, today introduced AI Agent Detection, a new capability designed to help financial institutions identify agentic activity and assess the risk behind AI-initiated actions. The company is also expanding its web risk intelligence with Web Behavioral Biometrics and introducing an MCP Server that brings Incognia intelligence into compatible AI applications used for fraud investigations.

"While FIs are progressing ahead on agentic AI, many lack reliable verification, detection, and governance frameworks to manage the underlying risks appropriately," says Jim Mortenson, Fraud Strategic Advisor at Datos Insights. "Organizations must invest now in innovative control infrastructures to distinguish between good and bad humans as well as the agents acting on their behalf in order to create long-term resilience and reduce the risk of costly redesigns."

Incognia's approach evaluates the agent and the action separately. AI Agent Detection combines signed-request verification, agent-origin classification, bot and automation detection and Incognia's broader risk intelligence. When an action requires additional confidence, financial institutions can verify it against signals from the customer's trusted devices, account activity, device integrity, network and location.

"AI agents change the trust problem for financial institutions," said André Ferraz, co-founder and CEO of Incognia. "Knowing that a request came from a legitimate agent isn't the same as knowing that a specific action should be allowed. Businesses need to connect that request back to the real customer and the context surrounding the action so they can support legitimate agentic experiences without giving up the risk controls they've spent years building."

Incognia is also extending its risk intelligence across web interactions with Web Behavioral Biometrics, adding signals such as mouse movement, keyboard interaction and copy-and-paste activity to its existing browser, device, automation and location intelligence. When additional verification is needed, Incognia can connect the web session to a trusted mobile device, providing additional evidence to determine whether the person behind the interaction is legitimate.

Incognia's new MCP Server brings that intelligence into AI-assisted fraud investigations. Fraud analysts can use compatible AI applications to retrieve relevant evidence, identify connections across devices and accounts and organize findings for review using natural-language questions. The initial MCP experience is read-only, keeping enforcement decisions and actions under human control.

Incognia combines apartment-level location intelligence with device and behavioral signals to continuously recognize trusted users across devices and sessions, while detecting fraud. The company supports global companies across mobility, marketplaces and financial services, helping prevent fraud while reducing friction for legitimate users. For more information, visit Incognia.com.

About Incognia

Incognia provides AI-powered cross-device risk intelligence for companies that rely on trusted digital interactions. Its technology blends location behavior, device integrity and behavioral analysis to create a risk signal that cannot be faked at scale and shows whether a user is trusted or risky. With real-time assessments and actionable data, Incognia helps organizations stop repeat and large-scale fraud while reducing friction for legitimate users.

From 6:30 PM ET, hosts and creators move from studio to studio in one unbroken live broadcast, demonstrating each innovation in a real physical space rather than in front of a ring light. Viewers watching on TikTok Shop can buy what they see in the moment, without leaving the stream. Products appear on screen as they're demonstrated, with studio-exclusive drops, giveaways and deals available only while the stream is live.

Live shopping has so far mostly meant a creator in a bedroom or a studio set, holding up a product nobody can touch. That's a particular problem for innovation, where the whole point is the moment you experience it for yourself. tm:rw Studios turns an entire working flagship store into the set, so what viewers see on their phone is the same experience customers are having on the shop floor in Times Square.

Eleven brands make up the launch lineup: TDM, Whoop, HoverAir, Cozyla, Robosen, Amazon, Anker, Memomind, AEKE, Target Darts and SIQ. Each has featured innovations placed inside a studio, demonstrated live on camera for the first time. Creators and co-hosts appear throughout the evening, including Nick Kosir, Maria Pratt and Pablo Velasco.

One studio stays permanently. Beyond the launch, an always-on live studio remains inside the flagship, free for creators and the public to stream from, making live commerce a fixture of the store rather than a one-night event.

The timing reflects TikTok Shop's momentum. U.S. gross merchandise value nearly doubled to an estimated $11.8 billion in the first half of 2026, putting the platform on track to cross $100 billion globally by year's end, with the U.S. now its largest market.

"At tm:rw, we pride ourselves on being first," said Nathalie Bernce, Co-Founder and CEO of tm:rw. "tm:rw Studios is exactly that. Commerce and content are now the same thing, and the proof is that a store can be a broadcast. We built nine studios and a permanent live space because retail's future is live, and we intend to be the ones building it."

Klipboard Launches Autowork for Independent Auto Repair Shops

New cloud-native platform brings shop operations together, with practical AI built in and access to a wider range of connected Klipboard automotive solutions as businesses grow.

CARY, N.C., Oct. 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Klipboard, the industry-specific business software company, has introduced Autowork, a shop management platform that is both cloud-native and AI-native. The new solution is designed to give independent aftermarket auto service centers one place to manage their day-to-day operations.

Klipboard already has an established presence across the automotive aftermarket, supporting businesses with software designed around the way the industry works. Its enterprise platform, Autowork One, powers some of North America's largest tire and service networks. Autowork builds on that experience with a platform designed around the day-to-day demands of running a profitable, independent automotive service business.

Autowork brings appointments, repair orders, customers, vehicles, parts, inventory, tires and invoicing together in one platform, giving businesses greater control over their operations and reducing the need to rely on multiple disconnected systems. Its parts catalog is built natively into the system, with tire lookup, quoting and fitted pricing included, so fitment and pricing stay in one place rather than in a separate tool.

Artificial intelligence is already at work on practical, everyday tasks. Autowork's AI-assisted scheduling capability helps identify suitable appointment opportunities without manually working through the shop schedule, with more AI capabilities planned.

Dean Petrone, CEO of Klipboard North America, said: "Automotive businesses need technology that makes running their operation easier, not just more technology. That's what we're setting out to achieve with Autowork. We've spent years building software for enterprise tire and service networks, and Autowork shapes that same understanding of the industry around what a single shop actually needs."

For tire businesses specifically, Autowork's dedicated functionality supports tire lookup, quoting, fitted pricing and supplier integration, helping tire specialists manage tire work alongside wider service, maintenance and repair operations.

Autowork also connects with Klipboard's wider range of automotive solutions, letting businesses start with what they need today and add capabilities such as e-commerce and payments as requirements grow.

"A shop shouldn't have to buy everything on day one, and it shouldn't have to start again with another provider every time it needs something new. With Autowork, businesses can start with what they need and add more from Klipboard as they grow," Petrone said.

Autowork is designed to be straightforward to set up, learn and use, and is available now for independent, single-location automotive repair shops, service centers and tire businesses.

HG Insights Launches Contextual Intelligence Platform, Bringing Precision to AI-Driven GTM Revenue

Updated platform gives GTM teams and AI agents a unified, connected picture of markets, accounts, and buyers to compete, win, and grow with precision

SANTA BARBARA, Calif., Oct. 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- HG Insights today launched the Contextual Intelligence Platform, closing the context gap that leaves autonomous AI agents confidently acting on fragmented, isolated data. By giving GTM teams and agents one unified, connected picture of markets, accounts, and buyers, grounded in decision-ready intelligence, it lets them compete, win, and grow pipeline and revenue faster. The launch also marks a new chapter for HG Insights' brand with its integrated platform debuting alongside a refreshed identity that reflects where the company and the market are headed.

"Every GTM team is adding the same agents, the same tools, the same playbooks. When the infrastructure is equal, whoever knows the account best wins," said Rohini Kasturi, CEO of HG Insights. "Most vendors still sell disconnected data and call it intelligence. We've built the intelligence layer for autonomous, agentic GTM. Our platform connects the data, gives it context, and derives decision-ready signals that power teams and AI agents to execute with precision."

AI agents are now table stakes in enterprise GTM. The differentiator is the completeness, depth, and context of the intelligence behind them.

Most AI agents working in GTM draw on isolated, fragmented internal and commodity datasets that lack the entity resolution and context required for accurate interpretation. The same company is able to show up as multiple accounts, and a subsidiary's spend would therefore be missed or double-counted under the wrong parent. An intent signal from an account that already owns the product could be flagged as new business instead of an expansion, and one from a competitive account can be chased as winnable. Marketing and sales are able to rely on job titles rather than evidence of who owns the product. Without that context, an agent returns a fast, confident answer that is fundamentally wrong. As more GTM work gets automated, those errors scale.

HG's Contextual Intelligence solves this problem by connecting technology installations and usage, spending, buyer intent, buying centers, and contacts to an account and its corporate hierarchy. It tracks changes over time and computes new signals that no individual data source can provide. This gives teams and AI agents the context, combined with a customer's first-party data, to distinguish opportunities, prioritize accounts and leads, and guide GTM execution with precision.

"Account data still lives across a dozen separate systems inside most organizations, and that fragmentation matters even more as agentic autonomy increases and agents become embedded within GTM workflows. Accurate account and contact resolution, combined with comprehensive buyer context, determines whether an agent can reason effectively and take actions that drive pipeline growth. Contextual intelligence will drive GTM outcomes and deliver compounding value as the agents and applications on top of it evolve," said Michael Levy, analyst at GZ Consulting.

What's new in the Contextual Intelligence platform:

- Fabric, the data and intelligence foundation of the platform, has expanded its company, technology, and spend coverage and now includes funding and M&A intelligence, automatic hierarchy updates, and contacts matched to the buying centers that own a given technology. A new Momentum signal has been added that shows whether a vendor, a portfolio, or a product is gaining or losing ground. Each of these additions helps GTM teams and agents make more precise GTM decisions. A declining footprint, spend, and intent can flag a competitive displacement opportunity, while growth across all three shows a competitor gaining ground. Fabric can be licensed on its own and delivered by API or Direct Feed into a customer's data warehouse, CRM, applications, or models.

- HG Copilots, including Market Analyzer, Data Studio, and Sales Copilot, help GTM teams assess markets, optimize coverage, target accounts, build audiences, and engage buyers. Sales Copilot now tailors its guidance around each customer's own products, buyers, and sales motions. A rep opens a ranked account list with research, engagement history and intent signals, suggested sales play, product pitch, and buyer committee contacts, all with clear reasoning. That same transparency now extends to predictive AI scoring across HG Copilots. Unlike black-box scoring, Fit, Need, and Intent models update dynamically to sharpen lead and account prioritization while staying deterministic, explainable, and adjustable.

- HG Agents automate time-consuming GTM tasks such as expansion sizing, territory coverage, account research, signal monitoring, brief and outreach drafting, and enrichment that used to take hours of manual data gathering, mapping, and analysis. HG Agents are reachable from Slack, Microsoft Teams, the HG interface, or embedded directly into a customer's own application using standard Model Context Protocol (MCP). A new HGSuperagent interprets user requests, selects the right specialist agents, and assembles the result with every claim cite-sourced, so a user never has to know which agent to call. An account research brief can return over 30 data points within 90 seconds. A team that once had time for only its priority accounts can now cover an entire territory.

- HG MCP Server gives customers' AI agents and applications direct access to HG's contextual intelligence without requiring them to first build a separate data infrastructure. Through one secure, governed connection, they can query market, account, and buyer intelligence alongside TrustRadius product reviews, SEC filings, federal contract data, and other live web research. They can also draw on a growing library of curated workflows, trigger and monitor HG Agents, and query the Fabric for custom analysis, market sizing, ICP segmentation, ABM, and campaign design. Every result traces back to its source data, so users and agents can verify what's behind their GTM decisions.

- Customer Voice, powered by TrustRadius, further extends the platform. As previously announced, it feeds the Fabric with downstream buyer-intent signals from a community of over 12M technology buyers actively researching products. It also accelerates the collection of customer-verified, in-depth reviews and ratings for social proof, SEO, and AI citeability, plus GEO monitoring to track how vendors show up across AI search.

Expanding the AI Ecosystem

HG Insights extends Contextual Intelligence across the enterprise AI ecosystem, so customers do not have to move their data, rebuild workflows, or standardize on one AI platform to use it. Fabric, HG Copilots, and HG MCP Server are available through AWS Marketplace, which simplifies procurement and lets eligible customers apply existing cloud commitments toward HG Insights. HG MCP Server brings the same intelligence into Amazon Quick, Anthropic, OpenAI, and Microsoft.

Enterprises run multiple models, agents, and AI platforms, and the interface varies by team. The GTM intelligence behind those experiences does not have to vary. HG separates the intelligence layer from the interface, so an analyst in Microsoft, a GTM engineering team building with OpenAI, and a rep in an HG Copilot all work from the same picture of markets, accounts, and buyers.

Pricing and Availability

The Contextual Intelligence Platform, including Fabric, HG Copilots, HG Agents, and the HG MCP Server, is available starting October 6, 2026. The platform is priced on a consumption-based model built around Intelligence Credits, giving customers flexibility, scalability, and control as they adopt Contextual Intelligence wherever they are in their agentic GTM journey. HG Copilot modules start at $22,000, with additional packages sized for enterprise needs. For full pricing details, contact HG Insights or visit hginsights.com.

About HG Insights

HG Insights delivers Contextual Intelligence for Agentic GTM Revenue, giving teams and AI agents a complete, connected, trusted view of markets, accounts, and buyers. The platform unifies technology, spend, intent, account hierarchies, buying centers, competitors, contacts, and change over time into decision-ready, agent-activated intelligence. It helps companies prioritize, engage, win, and expand the right accounts to accelerate pipeline and revenue at scale. HG Insights grounds the GTM decisions that drive over $1.5 trillion in revenue across Fortune 500 Technology companies.
