Strategic acquisition designed to integrate proprietary, historical financial data feeds into Quantum X's emerging artificial intelligence and quantitative technology ecosystems.

LOCUST VALLEY, N.Y., Oct. 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Quantum X Inc. (OTC: QUTX) ("Quantum X" or the "Company"), a publicly traded company advancing multi-vertical opportunities in quantum technology and artificial intelligence applications, today announced the execution of a binding letter of intent (the "LOI") to acquire an 80% interest in United Kingdom-based TraderMade Systems Ltd. ("TraderMade").

TraderMade is an established financial market data company providing real-time and historical foreign exchange data, APIs, and technology solutions to financial institutions, fintech companies, and quantitative research teams. TraderMade brings more than three decades of market-data experience, including the aggregation and delivery of historical financial datasets. Since high-quality, institutional-grade datasets are the foundational requirement for training and executing advanced AI and quantitative computing models, Quantum X views this proposed acquisition as a critical infrastructure investment to support its ongoing strategic transition.

Transaction Highlights and Strategic Structure

Under the terms of the LOI, Quantum X will acquire an 80% ownership interest in TraderMade from Currency Mountain Holdings, LLC ("CMH"). The transaction is structured to immediately position Quantum X as both majority shareholder and primary creditor:

- Equity and Debt Acquisition: Quantum X will acquire 80% of TraderMade's issued share capital, alongside all of CMH's rights to a GBP £412,162.47 receivable (approximately US$544,000), plus accrued interest, owed by TraderMade.

- Fixed Consideration: The proposed purchase price is US$550,000, payable entirely through the issuance of 550,000,000 Quantum X common shares at a fixed price of US$0.001 per share.

- Market Stability: The consideration shares will be fully paid and subject to a six-month lock-up period following closing. The share count is fixed and will not be adjusted for market price fluctuations prior to closing.

- Independent Valuation and Audits: To support the transaction's value, completion requires an independent valuation confirming that the combined value of the acquired shares and the receivable is at least US$550,000. Following closing, Quantum X intends to commission PCAOB-audited financial statements for TraderMade covering at least its two most recent fiscal years, expected to be delivered within 71 days of closing.

Next Steps and Conditions to Closing

The parties intend to negotiate in good faith toward a definitive share purchase and assignment agreement. Given the cross-border nature of the proposed transaction and TraderMade's United Kingdom operations, the parties currently anticipate allowing up to 90 days for financial, legal, tax, technical and commercial due diligence, including review of applicable ownership-transfer, regulatory and third-party requirements, before closing.

Completion of the proposed transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions. These include Quantum X's satisfactory completion of financial, legal, tax, technical, and commercial due diligence; receipt of the independent valuation; the retention of specified key TraderMade personnel; receipt of all necessary regulatory, third-party, and shareholder consents; confirmation of clean title to the shares and receivable; and no material adverse changes occurring in TraderMade prior to closing. There can be no assurance that all conditions will be satisfied or that the transaction will be completed on the terms contemplated.

Related-Party Disclosure

CMH is owned by Emil Assentato. The proposed transaction therefore involves an affiliated party relationship that will be reviewed and disclosed in accordance with applicable securities laws and reporting requirements. The LOI expressly makes completion of the proposed transaction subject to board approval, among other closing conditions.

Trellist Helps National Logistics Operator Cut Customer Service Call Volume 30% With AI

Results show AI emerging as its own practice area, one that redesigns the handoffs inside a company's operations

WEST CHESTER, Pa., Oct. 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Trellist, Inc., a veteran-owned, employee-shared professional services firm, today shared results from a multi-phase AI engagement with a national logistics, transportation, and storage operator. The work cut customer service call volume by 30%, produced a six-figure net positive annual return, and freed 30% of the client's development team capacity for higher-value work. Trellist delivered it through their AI-Powered Transformation practice.

The results point to a broader shift. Putting AI to work inside a business is becoming a discipline of its own. Applying the full breadth of human knowledge, available on demand, to shorten a business process takes a new kind of expert. Trellist is building their practice around that expertise and raising a new generation of senior AI engineers to lead it.

Trellist's approach centers on a map. Every operational process runs through a web of handoffs between roles: marketing to sales, sales to operations, operations to customer service. Each handoff adds time and cost. Once that web is drawn, AI can truncate the process in three ways: shorten the time between handoffs, put them in a better order, or remove them entirely.

Making that work comes down to implementation. Trellist chooses the right tools for each step. They build and organize custom MCP servers so AI has secure access to the connectors and systems it needs. They match the level of AI intelligence to each job. And they engineer the harness that ties it all together inside existing infrastructure, whether that is Salesforce or Amazon Bedrock.

For the logistics operator, the work ran in sequence. Trellist first joined the company's disconnected marketing, sales, and operations data into one pipeline with real-time feeds, so teams could adjust performance against live data. Next, they built AI directly into the development and quality assurance workflows, which recovered 30% of that team's capacity. Last, they analyzed call-tracking data to learn why customers were calling, then built an AI agent that resolves common issues in conversation. The agent has human review built in and runs inside the existing customer service workflow.

"It's amazing how much agents can handle end-to-end," said Gavin Garrison, Partner & Account Leader at Trellist. "We load intelligence with a complex process and see how far it gets. The gaps show where a person needs to step in, or where it needs a new connection. We take those gaps to the map of the operation as needed, and that lets us create the most impact."

Every Trellist engagement ends in enablement, handing the capability over to the client's own team. The practice offers AI strategy, workflow modernization, custom MCP servers, AI agents, and fractional AI teams to organizations that want AI put to work.

Pilates Addiction Brings Patented, Gold-Plated Aurum™ Reformer to Spring, Texas With New Vintage Park Studio
Image File
Original HTML

Co-owners Lacey and Russell Williams bring high-energy classes and a black-and-gold studio to the community this winter.

SPRING, Texas, Oct. 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Pilates is getting a gold-plated upgrade this winter with the arrival of Pilates Addiction in Vintage Park. The new studio, located at 10300 Louetta Road, Ste. 100, will bring the brand's patented, gold-plated Aurum™ Reformers, high-energy classes and signature black-and-gold studio experience to the Spring community.

Led by local co-owners Lacey and Russell Williams, the new studio is designed to feel different from the moment members walk through the door – from striking rows of gold equipment to wood and metallic design elements, modern lighting schemes that inspire and support the workout, and curated retail.

For Lacey, opening the studio also brings together a longtime passion for fitness and a personal connection to Pilates. A former track athlete, she spent several years as a personal trainer at Equinox in River Oaks, specializing in pre- and postnatal clients. She discovered Pilates while pregnant with her first son and was drawn to the ability to get a challenging, full-body workout that was still low impact. Years later, a visit to Pilates Addiction's West Hollywood studio introduced Lacey and Russell to the brand they would ultimately bring home to their own community.

"People here already have access to great fitness, so we knew we couldn't just open another Pilates studio and expect that to be enough," said Lacey Williams, co-owner of Pilates Addiction Vintage Park. "We chose Pilates Addiction because the experience genuinely felt different – the Aurum Reformer changes what can happen in a class, the programming gives you somewhere to progress, and the studio has an energy you feel as soon as you walk in. We fell in love with it when we visited the West Hollywood studio, and we know our community will too."

At the center of that experience are class formats that are expertly taught and designed for all fitness and Pilates levels. The proprietary Aurum Reformer combines a reformer, jump board, barre and Wunda Chair into one, allowing members to move through a full-body workout without rotating between stations or breaking the flow of class. With four pieces of equipment built into a single machine, clients have more ways to challenge strength, control, endurance and mobility, using all components in every class.

Both Texas A&M University alumni, Lacey and Russell live near Vintage Park with their two young sons, Luca and Cam. The family already spends time throughout the area, from supporting local businesses to date nights at neighborhood restaurants, making Vintage Park a natural choice for their first studio.

"Vintage Park is the kind of neighborhood where people build routines around the places they love," said Russell Williams, co-owner. "We already live that ourselves, and now we have the opportunity to contribute something of our own. We want Pilates Addiction to become a place people feel connected to and are proud to have in their community."

That same focus on progression carries into the class lineup. Educators trained in anatomy and biomechanics through the Pilates Addiction Movement Academy lead four signature formats: Ignite, a 30-minute introduction to the Aurum Reformer; Core+, a 50-minute high-intensity class; Max, a 50-minute advanced workout; and Mobility RX, a 50-minute stretching-focused class. A membership milestone program celebrates consistency and progress along the way.

Pilates Addiction launched in West Hollywood in May 2025 and has since sold more than 325 territories nationwide, with multiple new studios opening each month in markets across the country. Vintage Park is part of the brand's growing Texas presence and rapid national expansion.

HelloNation Explains Dry Eye Therapy With Insights From Eye Health Expert Dr. J. Shawn McBride
Original HTML

The article outlines how improving tear quality and tear function supports clearer, more comfortable vision.

TULLAHOMA, Tenn., Oct. 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- What causes ongoing eye discomfort and blurred vision even when wearing the correct prescription? HelloNation has published the answer in an article, featuring insights from Eye Health Expert Dr. J. Shawn McBride of Vision Source Tullahoma Vision Associates.

The HelloNation article explains that clear vision depends not only on corrective lenses but also on proper tear function and balanced tear quality. When the tear film becomes unstable, patients may experience eye discomfort, fluctuating clarity, and blurred vision that interferes with everyday tasks. Dry eye therapy focuses on restoring this balance, helping patients achieve more stable and reliable visual performance.

The article describes how dry eye therapy addresses underlying issues rather than just surface symptoms. In many cases, dry eye is not caused by a lack of tears but by poor tear quality or an imbalance in tear composition. This disruption can lead to inflammation and inconsistent tear function, both of which contribute to blurred vision and ongoing eye discomfort. By improving tear quality and stabilizing the tear film, dry eye therapy supports clearer vision over time.

According to the article, proper dry eye management begins with identifying the root causes of dysfunction. Eye Health Experts use specialized diagnostic tools to evaluate tear function, assess tear composition, and examine the glands that produce tears. These evaluations allow for customized treatment plans that target the specific causes of eye discomfort and visual instability.

The article notes that treatment options for dry eye therapy may include prescription eye drops or non-invasive in-office procedures designed to restore natural tear function. These approaches aim to improve tear quality, reduce inflammation, and promote long-term eye health. As tear function improves, patients often notice reduced eye discomfort and fewer episodes of blurred vision, leading to more consistent, clear vision throughout the day.

The HelloNation article also emphasizes the importance of ongoing dry eye management. Without proper care, minor irritation can develop into more serious eye health concerns. Regular eye exams allow Eye Health Experts to monitor tear function and adjust treatment plans as needed. This proactive approach helps maintain tear quality and supports lasting improvements in clear vision.

In addition, the article highlights how tears play a critical role in focusing light and protecting the eye's surface. When tear quality is compromised, even small disruptions can affect visual clarity. Dry eye therapy works to restore this essential function, helping patients maintain stable, comfortable vision during reading, screen use, and other daily activities.

Patients who follow a consistent dry eye management plan often report noticeable improvements in both comfort and performance. Reduced eye discomfort, improved tear function, and better tear quality all contribute to clearer vision and enhanced overall eye health. The article underscores that addressing both short-term symptoms and long-term causes is key to achieving lasting results.

How Dry Eye Therapy Can Support Clearer Vision features insights from Dr. J. Shawn McBride, Eye Health Expert of Tullahoma, Tennessee, in HelloNation.

The global kids' music phenomenon brought its signature family fun to Fall Fam Jam with live concerts, pool parties, VIP experiences and a new music video filmed on location at Beaches Turks and Caicos

PROVIDENCIALES, Turks & Caicos, Oct. 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Fresh off their summer tour, the KIDZ BOP Kids brought the energy to Beaches Turks and Caicos, turning the family-friendly, all-inclusive resort into a five-day celebration of music, fun and family as part of Fall Fam Jam 2026. From October 1–5, KIDZ BOP, the global kids' music phenomenon, gave vacationing families a chance to experience KIDZ BOP in a tropical setting, with a weekend of special live concerts, interactive experiences and memorable moments alongside the KIDZ BOP Kids as they soaked up the Caribbean sun.

The KIDZ BOP Kids Make a Tour Stop at Beaches Turks and Caicos

The weekend kicked off with Bop, Drop & Party, a VIP welcome celebration that set the tone for several days of family fun. The following day, families took the party poolside for Splash, Beats & Eats, a pool party and brunch at the Italian Village Pool, followed by an exclusive VIP meet and greet with the KIDZ BOP Kids.

The fun continued with experiences designed to keep guests entertained between concerts. Young guests took the spotlight during "Future Pop Star," a KIDZ BOP karaoke and talent competition that gave four finalists the chance to open for the group's final on-resort concert. Families also got creative at Charm Bar by the Sea, a bracelet-making workshop led by designer Amanda Perna, while Glow with the Flow brought the fun after dark with a glow-in-the-dark party and Black Light Visuals.

At the heart of the weekend were two live KIDZ BOP LIVE concerts on October 2 and 5 at Beaches Turks and Caicos' Open Air Theatre, turning the resort into a high-energy dance party for the whole family. Kids and parents sang and danced along to kid-friendly versions of today's biggest pop hits including KIDZ BOP's "Beautiful Things," "HOT TO GO!" and "APT." Live audience voting let young fans help choose what came next, keeping the crowd engaged through the show before a dazzling fireworks display lit up the Caribbean sky during the final song.

The experience extended beyond the stage as the KIDZ BOP Kids filmed a new music video on location at Beaches Turks and Caicos. Set to the beloved reggae classic "Three Little Birds," the video will showcase the resort's Caribbean setting and bring a glimpse of Beaches Resorts to KIDZ BOP fans around the world when it debuts later this year.

As part of their visit, the KIDZ BOP Kids joined the Sandals Foundation for a Reading Roadtrip to Bethany's Education and Social Training (B.E.S.T.) Institute, spending time with local children and supporting the Foundation's ongoing commitment to education and literacy.

The KIDZ BOP Energy Will Continue in Jamaica

The celebration will extend beyond Turks & Caicos to Beaches Negril, where this upcoming weekend, October 8-12, families will enjoy KIDZ BOP-inspired beach and pool parties, karaoke contests, dance competitions and special concert viewing events. Together, the programming across both resorts brings KIDZ BOP to families vacationing in the Caribbean, giving guests different ways to join the celebration whether it's dancing by the pool, taking the stage themselves or enjoying the music under the stars.

Fall Fam Jam Turns Up the Volume

KIDZ BOP was the latest headline act in Fall Fam Jam 2026, Beaches Resorts' annual celebration of family travel taking place throughout September and October. The festival-style experience also featured viral Toddler Techno artist Lenny Pearce, who brought four exclusive performances to Beaches Turks and Caicos in September, alongside all-new Sesame Street® experiences, expanded toddler programming and Caribbean-inspired family entertainment.

Fall Fam Jam will return to Beaches Resorts in September and October 2027, bringing another season of family-focused experiences, special entertainment and unforgettable moments to the Caribbean. For more information, visit www.beaches.com/fall-fam-jam.

"Jet inventory on Sandhills sites increased this month, and we've seen several jet aircraft sell quickly despite overall inventory remaining lower than last year," says Controller Manager Terrin Mohl. "At the same time, piston aircraft is starting to move after a few slower months, suggesting the market is stabilizing rather than accelerating."

Sandhills' aviation products include Controller, Controller EMEA, Executive Controller, Charter Hub, Aviation Trader, Aircraft Cost Calculator, and AircraftValuation. AircraftValuation is Sandhills' proprietary asset valuation tool for all types of aircraft, built using the same technology behind Value Insight Portal (VIP and VIP+). Widely used and trusted across equipment, truck, and trailer industries, VIP identifies asset values with unparalleled accuracy.

The key metric in all of Sandhills' market reports is the Sandhills Equipment Value Index (EVI). Buyers and sellers can use the information in the Sandhills EVI to monitor equipment markets and maximize returns on acquisition, liquidation, and related business decisions. The Sandhills EVI data include equipment available in auction and retail markets, as well as model-year equipment actively in use.

HAEVN Launches Goose, Bringing Real-Time Compatibility Checking to Singles Events

As singles move from dating apps toward in-person experiences, Goose lets event guests privately check their compatibility with someone who catches their attention, without taking chemistry out of the equation.

TAMPA, Fla., Oct. 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Singles events are good at answering one of dating's most immediate questions: Am I attracted to this person? They aren't designed to answer the question that usually takes much longer: Are we actually compatible?

HAEVN wants to put both answers in the same room.

The Tampa-based matching company has launched Goose, a real-time compatibility tool built for singles event producers. Goose allows guests at mixers, speed-dating events and other in-person singles experiences to privately check their compatibility with someone who has caught their attention.

The idea is deliberately simple: See someone you like. See their number. Check your compatibility. Decide whether to say hello.

"We built Goose to support chemistry, not replace it," said Rik Foote, founder of HAEVN. "Being in the same room lets you see attraction, presence and energy in a way technology never can. Goose gives you a head start on the part you can't see: whether the two of you actually want compatible things from a relationship."

A wingman for intentional dating

Goose takes its name from Maverick's wingman in Top Gun. HAEVN describes the product as an intentional dating wingman, designed to give singles useful information at the moment they are deciding whether to pursue a connection.

Guests at a Goose-enabled event complete HAEVN's approximately 15-minute relationship survey before the event. HAEVN uses those responses to evaluate factors including relationship intent and expectations, preferred relationship structure, communication, lifestyle compatibility and other areas that can affect how well two people align.

At the event, participating guests wear numbered badges.

When someone catches a guest's attention, the guest opens Goose on their phone, verifies their identity using the email address associated with their HAEVN survey and enters the other person's badge number.

Goose privately returns a compatibility percentage and one of three results: Recommended, Worth Exploring or Not Recommended.

The result includes short explanations covering relationship intent, overall compatibility and what the result may mean for the potential connection. An 84% Recommended result, for example, might indicate that the two people have closely aligned relationship intentions along with compatible communication preferences and expectations around time together and independence.

Goose does not tell someone whether attraction or chemistry exists.

That part, HAEVN says, belongs to the people in the room.

"A compatibility score isn't a prediction that two people will fall in love," Foote said. "It's a way of asking a much narrower and more useful question: based on what these two people have told us matters to them, does it make sense to invest the time and energy to get to know each other?"

HAEVN began making matches in July and has generated approximately 2,000 Matches and Recommendations to date. The company says it is continuing to collect feedback and does not claim that its compatibility percentages predict relationship outcomes.

Technology designed to get out of the way

Goose arrives as two dating trends increasingly intersect: fatigue with traditional dating apps and growing interest in more intentional, face-to-face ways of meeting people.

HAEVN believes those trends don't require abandoning technology. They require changing its role.

"The problem isn't technology. It's what we've asked technology to do," Foote said. "Goose isn't designed to keep you looking at your phone. It's designed to help you decide whether it's worth putting the phone down and saying hello."

That distinction shaped the product.

Goose does not display a digital catalog of people attending an event or rank the room by compatibility. Guests first notice someone in real life and decide they are interested. Only then can they enter that person's badge number and privately see their compatibility.

The person being checked is not notified, searches are private, and Goose does not reveal either participant's individual survey responses or personally identifiable information in the compatibility result.

"We don't want technology choosing who you're attracted to," Foote said. "Chemistry gets the first vote. Goose simply gives you more information about what might be underneath it."

Built for the people already creating the rooms

HAEVN originally considered producing its own singles events before deciding there was little reason to compete with the growing number of producers already doing it well.

Instead, the company built Goose as infrastructure those producers can add to their own experiences.

"We're not in the event business. We're in the human connection business," Foote said. "Event producers are already creating great reasons for singles to get into the same room. Goose gives them infrastructure that can help the people in that room make more intentional connections."

Goose is offered to event producers for $10 per Goose-enabled guest. Producers control their own ticket pricing and can absorb the cost, pass it through to guests or incorporate Goose into a higher-priced event experience.

HAEVN is initially focusing on independent singles-event producers, speed-dating operators, bars and venues that host singles nights, and producers of other social experiences who want to add singles-focused events.

The company expects eventually to work with larger regional and national event organizations.

Goose became generally available nationwide on Oct. 1. HAEVN has begun onboarding its first event producer, with the first Goose-enabled events expected in November.

The event ends. The introductions don't.

Goose also gives participating event producers something unusual: a way for the value of a single event to continue after everyone goes home.

Guests who complete the HAEVN survey become part of the HAEVN matching network and can continue receiving compatible introductions through Match Monday, HAEVN's weekly matching program.

Each Monday, HAEVN searches for highly compatible people who meet a member's criteria and geographic preferences. Members can review detailed compatibility information about those introductions at no charge. Members who want to see identities, photos and communicate with a potential match can upgrade to HAEVN+.

There is no additional charge to continue receiving Match Monday introductions.

"Give your guests more than one night to find the right person," Foote said. "The event creates the opportunity to meet someone face-to-face. Goose helps you understand the people who catch your attention while you're there. And if your person isn't in that room that night, Match Monday keeps working for you afterward."

For event producers, that creates an experience that can extend well beyond the ticketed event while allowing the producer to retain control of the event itself.

Their event. Their brand. Their audience. Their pricing. HAEVN provides the infrastructure.

A different model for modern matchmaking

HAEVN describes itself as a city-by-city matching network positioned between traditional dating apps and professional matchmaking.

Rather than asking members to continually browse or swipe through profiles, HAEVN uses its compatibility system to search the network on their behalf and surface highly aligned potential connections.

The company currently has members in Austin, Texas; Portland, Oregon; and Tampa, Florida, with several thousand people having joined the network since its Austin launch in July.

Goose, however, is not geographically limited to HAEVN's existing markets and is available to event producers nationwide.

Foote, a former Fortune 500 technology executive, founded HAEVN nearly two decades after meeting his wife online, before swiping became the dominant model for digital dating.

"I've spent most of my career using technology to solve complicated problems, but this one is personal," Foote said. "Human connection is one of the most important things in our lives. If we can use technology to make finding the right connection a little less exhausting and a little more intentional, that's worth building."

About HAEVN

HAEVN is a city-by-city matching network built around compatibility, intentionality and human connection. Positioned between traditional dating apps and traditional matchmaking, HAEVN combines technology-enabled scale with a compatibility-first approach designed to help people find more aligned potential partners without the swipe-based experience.

HAEVN is based in Tampa, Florida.

In the news release, Napa Valley Wine Community Pledges $2.5 Million to Red Blotch Research, issued Oct. 6, 2026 by The Grapevine Red Blotch Virus Research Initiative over PR Newswire, we are advised by a representative of the company that the second paragraph has been updated. The complete, corrected release follows:

Napa Valley Wine Community Pledges $2.5 Million to Red Blotch Research

Independent initiative will fund research focused on practical vineyard solutions

NAPA VALLEY, Calif. , Oct. 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Winegrowers and wineries have pledged $2.5 million to launch Phase One of the Grapevine Red Blotch Virus Research Initiative, a public-private collaboration created to accelerate practical research into Grapevine Red Blotch Virus (GRBV).

The initiative has gained momentum through the commitment and leadership of Christian Mouiex/Dominus Estate, Darioush Winery, Joseph Phelps Vineyards, Joe Wender and Ann Colgin, Louis P. Ciminelli/Laelius Winegrowing, Opus One Winery, Phillips Family Farming/Vine Hill Ranch, Tom Gamble/Gamble Estates, Pete Richmond/Silverado Farming Company, The Araujo Family, and other wine industry leaders.

GRBV is one of the most serious unresolved threats facing wine production. The virus can impair vine performance, delay fruit ripening, alter grape composition, and diminish wine quality with associated increases in management costs and replanting. These issues are worsened by the fact that winegrowers lack early detection methods and proven field strategies to limit spread and manage affected vines.

The GRBV Initiative brings winegrowers, wineries, researchers and public institutions together to jointly advance a coordinated research program. Phase One is designed as a three-year effort that will support multiple projects at leading research institutions, with defined milestones and a clear path from scientific discovery to vineyard use.

The effort started in 2025 as discussions among wine industry and research leaders, initiated by the Moët Hennessy Robert-Jean de Vogüé Research Center, regarding the principal knowledge gaps in Red Blotch and the need for a coordinated, multi-institutional response. In July 2026, these discussions culminated in a meeting of industry and research participants to refine research priorities and consider a shared funding effort. A smaller working group was formed to evaluate governance and administrative options.

Research priorities

The first competitive calls for proposals will focus on:

- Earlier, more reliable detection and diagnostic methods

- Virus and vector biology, including transmission and patterns of spread

- Practical mitigation and vineyard-management strategies

- Nursery testing, clean plant material and validation of diagnostic tools

The program may also support work on vine physiology and longer-term resistance while advancing practical outcomes for growers.

"Researchers and industry leaders have come together to identify the most urgent Red Blotch research needs and coordinate the work ahead. The wine community deserves tremendous credit for stepping up with the resources to put that plan into motion. We are excited to join this effort to help deliver practical tools that growers can use."

– Dr. Ben Monpetit, Chair, Department of Viticulture and Enology, CD Davis

Independent review and accountability

Research awards will be made through open, competitive calls available to qualified institutions. A proposed 10-member Governance Committee with equal representation from both wine and research communities, will establish priorities and budgets, approve calls for proposals and make final funding decisions.

An independent Technical Review Panel of qualified reviewers will evaluate proposals for scientific merit, feasibility, team capability, measurable milestones and practical vineyard impact.

The GRBV Initiative is working with the American Vineyard Foundation to serve as fiscal agent and program administrator for Phase One, with administrative agreements to soon be completed. The Governance Committee will retain responsibility for program performance, accountability and continuation decisions.

Next steps

The GRBV Initiative expects to issue its first calls for proposals in January 2027 and make initial funding decisions in spring 2027. Additional fundraising will continue to expand the research program and support future phases. Anyone interested in supporting the initiative should contact Bart Araujo.

About the Grapevine Red Blotch Virus Research Initiative

The Grapevine Red Blotch Virus Research Initiative is an industry-led, scientifically independent public-private collaboration dedicated to accelerating high-quality research on GRBV. Through competitive awards, independent scientific review and accountability, the Initiative seeks to deliver practical tools and durable solutions for grapegrowers.
