Project improves energy efficiency and supports industrial growth in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, Oct. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Air Products (NYSE: APD), a world-leading industrial gases company that has served Malaysia for more than 50 years, today announced it has concluded the definitive agreement with PG Cold Energy 1 Sdn. Bhd. (PGCE1), a joint venture led by PETRONAS Gas Berhad via PG Energia Sdn. Bhd. and DIALOG Group Berhad via DIALOG Equity (Three) Sdn. Bhd. Under the arrangement, Air Products is responsible for the design, build and operation of the LNG-based Air Separation Unit (ASU) at the Pengerang LNG regasification terminal in Johor. The facility will produce more than 600 tonnes of liquid oxygen, nitrogen and argon per day and is expected to come onstream by early 2027.

This project reinforces Air Products' long-term commitment to Malaysia, expands its production capabilities in Southern and Central Malaysia, and marks its fifth LNG-based ASU in Asia.

A document exchange ceremony was held at the PETRONAS Twin Towers to mark this milestone. The ceremony was attended by senior executives, including PETRONAS Gas Berhad's Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer Abdul Aziz Othman, DIALOG Executive Deputy Chairman Chan Yew Kai and Air Products' Asia President, Kurt Lefevere, underscoring the strategic importance of the project and the strength of the long-standing partnership between PETRONAS Gas Berhad and Air Products.

The new plant will supply the merchant market in Southern and Central Malaysia, strengthening Air Products' ability to serve key industrial hubs and support growing demand from the electrical and electronics, petrochemicals, aerospace and manufacturing sectors.

By using cold energy from the LNG regasification process to liquefy air at low temperatures, the plant will improve energy efficiency and reduce production-related emissions, helping customers reduce their carbon footprint through a more energy-efficient and lower-emission supply of industrial gas solutions.

"Our relationship with PETRONAS Gas Berhad spans more than four decades, and we are honored by their continued trust in Air Products to support their and Malaysia's effort to advance lower-emission industrial development," said Ramani Velu, Air Products' Southeast Asia President. "This investment underscores our long-term commitment to Malaysia and our focus on delivering safe, reliable, and energy-efficient solutions that support our customers' growth. It also strengthens our ability to serve customers across the country."

Air Products has operated in Malaysia since 1974 and maintains a strong network of state-of-the-art production facilities and depots strategically located across the country. In the Northern Region, the company serves key industries, including electrical and electronics, through advanced ASUs in the Prai Industrial Area, and a pipeline network in the Batu Kawan and the Bayan Lepas Industrial Park in Penang.

Arch Lending Co-Founder Makes the Case for Bitcoin-Backed Loans at Three Corporate Bitcoin Events

Himanshu Sahay set out the four questions institutional borrowers should ask before signing a term sheet at Bitcoin Corporate Day in London, the Midwest Bitcoin Summit in Columbus, and the Bitcoin Treasuries Conference in New York

NEW YORK, Oct. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Across three corporate Bitcoin events in September, Arch Lending put the same question to institutional and individual holders: when you need liquidity, do you sell your Bitcoin or borrow against it?

Himanshu Sahay, Co-Founder and CRO of Arch Lending, argued that the answer depends less on the headline rate than on what sits underneath the loan.

Four questions before a term sheet

On a September 22 panel at Bitcoin Corporate Day in London, an invite-only forum for corporates, funds and financial institutions, Sahay set out the questions he believes any borrower should ask a Bitcoin-backed lender before signing:

- Who holds the keys to the collateral?

- Can the collateral be rehypothecated or reused?

- What exactly triggers a liquidation, and is it partial or total?

- What happens to Bitcoin if the lender fails?

The panel examined the mechanics of institutional Bitcoin-backed credit and what has changed in the market since 2022.

Liquidity without liquidation

Two days later, Sahay delivered a keynote at the Midwest Bitcoin Summit in Columbus, Ohio, titled "Liquidity Without Liquidation."

"Most people who've held Bitcoin for years don't want to sell it," said Sahay. "They want cash for a home or a business without giving up the position. Borrowing can do that, as long as they know where their collateral sits, whether it can be reused, and what happens if the price drops."

For long-term holders, selling to cover a major expense means giving up the position permanently. Borrowing preserves it, but introduces interest costs, collateral requirements, and the possibility of a margin call if the price falls.

Later the same day, Klint Drici, Head of Institutional Sales at Arch Lending, joined the panel "From Stacking Sats to Enterprise Revaluation," which traced the path from individual accumulation to enterprise-scale Bitcoin adoption.

A young credit market

Sahay closed the run with a lightning talk, "Bitcoin-Backed Lending Enters the Wall Street Era," at the Bitcoin Treasuries Conference in New York on September 28.

"Bitcoin as a credit asset class is still very new," said Sahay. "Real estate got decades and government backstops to earn its reputation. This market is just getting started."

Arch Lending holds borrower collateral in segregated custody with Anchorage Digital, a federally chartered bank and qualified custodian, and does not rehypothecate it. The company offers loans secured by Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, PAX Gold and Tether Gold.

About Arch Lending

It supports Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, PAX Gold and Tether Gold as collateral. Eligible client assets are held 1:1 in segregated custody with Anchorage Digital, a federally chartered bank and qualified custodian, and are not rehypothecated. UT Haslam Launches Institute for the Future of Business to Address AI, Tech Changes in Business and Education

University of Tennessee, Knoxville's Haslam College of Business

Oct 07, 2026, 13:02 ET

The new initiative connects business leaders, students and researchers to promote technological fluency, all while focusing on human potential.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Oct. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- As emerging technologies such as AI change the way businesses operate and grow, the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, has launched the Institute for the Future of Business, an effort designed to align business education with the evolving needs of industry.

The institute will convene corporate leaders, researchers, educators and students to explore the immediate and long-term implications of groundbreaking technologies, promoting smart and effective human-centered use.

Stephen L. Mangum, Haslam dean and Stokely Foundation Leadership Chair, says the institute was created alongside the college's inaugural AInnovation Summit, two days of focused collaboration around the business ramifications of AI. The institute, however, takes a broader approach, establishing an ongoing structure for collaboration and action.

"While AI was the catalyst, the Institute for the Future of Business is not centered on a single technology," says Mangum. "Our mission is to promote understanding of the innovations that are shifting business models and upending workforce expectations, providing industry and education with technological knowledge paired with distinctly human skills such as creative problem solving and ethical decision-making."

Mangum says Haslam's deep industry relationships and breadth of business expertise and interdisciplinary approach to problem solving uniquely position the college to lead this work. As companies navigate questions around investment, productivity, workforce readiness and organizational change, the institute will connect those needs with Haslam faculty, researchers and students.

To accomplish its mission, the Institute for the Future of Business will serve a range of groups. The stakeholders include:

- Business leaders deciding where to invest and how to prepare both today's employees and the next generation's workforce

- Researchers connecting emerging business challenges and opportunities with relevant scholarship and new research questions

- Students gaining hands-on experience solving consequential, real-world business problems before graduation, building a strong base for future careers

- Educators exploring how changes in business should inform the future of business education, especially at the intersection of emerging technology and workforce preparation

By bringing together these groups, the institute will create opportunities for collaboration and applied research. Students will further benefit by participating in industry-based projects, while businesses will gain access to thought leadership and a deep talent pool.

The institute is distinct from AI Tennessee, UT's interdisciplinary AI research group, but complements the university's broader work and advances calls from both the university and the State of Tennessee to lead in AI and other emerging technologies.

Lindsay Mahony, Haslam's assistant dean for entrepreneurship and strategic initiatives, notes that while the institute will discuss new ideas, it also will convert them into action.

"The Institute for the Future of Business is future-focused and highly practical," Mahony says. "Our industry partners will bring real business challenges to Haslam, and those challenges will become launchpads for research questions, classroom projects and new opportunities for collaboration. By building on existing models for industry-based learning, we'll create unique opportunities for business leaders to engage with our faculty experts, as well as our students."

For more information about, or to partner with, the Institute for the Future of Business, visit the institute's webpage.

About the Haslam College of Business

More than 11,100 undergraduate, graduate and executive education students are taught by 291 faculty with dedicated staff members facilitating their needs. Haslam programs consist of seven departments and nine undergraduate majors. Its eight centers, institutes and forums, as well as its myriad graduate and executive education programs, reach across the for profit, not-for-profit and governmental sectors of business, with a heavy emphasis on practical research. New JumpCloud Research Finds AI Access Is Outpacing Enterprise Governance

The report finds AI agents are gaining access to critical systems faster than organizations are extending identity and governance controls.

LOUISVILLE, Colo., Oct. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- JumpCloud Inc. today released a new study, Enterprise AI Access Is Outpacing Control. The report shows that organizations are giving AI agents access to systems faster than they can secure them. More than half of organizations now use AI agents that can change systems, permissions, or files. However, among organizations using agents, 59% do not follow the same governance rules for human users.

The study of 250 IT leaders across the U.S. and U.K. shows how organizations are managing AI as it gains greater access across the enterprise. The research also found differences in AI auditability across workplace software platforms: just 11% of Google Workspace-primary organizations fall into the lowest auditability tier, compared with 21% of Microsoft 365-primary organizations.

The findings reveal significant gaps in how organizations govern AI access and activity:

- The Identity Gap: Among organizations using AI agents, only 41% have fully integrated agents into the same IAM policies used for human users, leaving 59% without full integration.

- The Proof Gap: 72% of organizations report a considerable gap between what AI is allowed to access and what they can prove it actually accessed.

- AI-Related Incidents: 92% of organizations report experiencing at least one AI-related incident or exposure in the past 12 months. More than one-third (36%) investigated an AI-related concern but were unable to determine what the AI had accessed.

"AI agents are quickly becoming another class of identity in the enterprise. They can access sensitive systems, change records, trigger workflows, and act on behalf of people, but many organizations still aren't governing them with the same rigor they apply to human users," said Joel Rennich, senior vice president of advanced technologies & innovation, JumpCloud. "Every agent needs clear ownership, appropriate access, and controls that follow it throughout its lifecycle. As agents become more autonomous, that foundation is what allows organizations to scale AI without losing accountability."

To solve this challenge, the report details the Agentic IAM Lifecycle framework. This guide helps IT teams discover, register, manage, and govern AI agents alongside human employees. By applying identity rules to AI tools, companies can assign owners, set permissions, and track AI actions start to finish.

As VA.gov's modernization prime, GovCIO teamed with CLEAR to give Veterans more choice in how they sign in.

FAIRFAX, Va., Oct. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The Department of Veterans Affairs on Wednesday introduced a new pilot identity verification option to make it easier for Veterans to access their account on VA.gov. This pilot is one of the first steps of a larger VA modernization effort that GovCIO is leading to improve the online Veteran experience.

GovCIO, a leading provider of advanced technology solutions and services for the federal government, partnered with CLEAR, the secure identity company, to integrate CLEAR1, CLEAR's security identity platform, into VA.gov. CLEAR is now available as a new identity verification option for Veterans, family members, service members, and other users signing in to VA.gov.

Verifying with CLEAR on VA.gov is entirely optional and is no cost to Veterans. Veterans are not required to switch, and the current sign-in options on VA.gov remain available. CLEAR simply gives Veterans another choice for verifying their identity to get the benefits they've earned. Veterans who prefer in-person support, do not have a smartphone, or face connectivity challenges can enroll with CLEAR Ambassadors using CLEAR Pods at six participating pilot VA medical centers.

As the prime contractor, GovCIO led the technical integration of CLEAR into VA.gov's sign-in experience, working closely with CLEAR and VA teams to make sure the new option fits seamlessly alongside existing sign-in methods and meets the same security standards Veterans rely on.

"Partnering with CLEAR lets us add a fast, secure sign-in option that fits right alongside the tools Veterans already use. Every improvement like this makes it a little easier for Veterans to get to the benefits they've earned," said Kristin Gill, Sector President, Veteran and Enterprise Technology Services, GovCIO.

A simple, secure way to sign in — for those who choose it

Veterans who choose CLEAR complete a quick, one-time setup to verify their identity and access their VA.gov account in seconds. Veterans can get started in the way that works best for them: online, or in-person at six participating VA facilities, where a team member is on hand to help with verification.

Verifying with CLEAR is free and optional. Veterans may continue using another sign-in method if they prefer, and choosing not to enroll will not affect their ability to access VA benefits or services. Veterans' personal health information will remain with VA; CLEAR does not receive or access it through the identity verification process.

"Secure identity is the front door to care, and CLEAR is committed to make sure that works for every Veteran" said Brett Romanoff, EVP, CLEAR1. "We're honored to meet Veterans where they are, ensuring they have an easy and simple way to access the benefits they have earned and deserve."

Key benefits for Veterans

- Simple to set up, simple to use. Veterans who choose CLEAR can verify their identity online or in person — including in-person help at 6 participating pilot VA facilities: Washington, DC; Palo Alto, CA; Atlanta, GA; Orlando, FL; Brooklyn, NY; and San Juan, PR.

- One identity across a Veteran's care. The same CLEAR identity a Veteran sets up for VA.gov also works to sign in to Medicare.gov as well as top health systems, organizations and services— one less account for Veterans to manage across their health care.

- No cost to Veterans. The CLEAR account Veterans set up for VA.gov is free. Using CLEAR lanes at airport security requires a separate, paid CLEAR+ membership. CLEAR offers a discounted CLEAR+ membership for military members and government employees.

- It's optional. Veterans decide whether to use CLEAR. Other login options continue to work exactly as they always have, with no action required from Veterans who prefer to stick with them. Choosing not to enroll will not affect Veterans' ability to access VA benefits or services.

- Built to protect. All of VA.gov's sign-in options are designed to safeguard a Veteran's personal information while keeping them in control of their identity. CLEAR meets the same security standards as the other sign-in options available on VA.gov. CLEAR1 is Full Service certified by Kantara Initiative for NIST IAL2/AAL2 for its standard remote, self-service enrollment flow.

Getting started

The CLEAR pilot is available now as an optional identity verification choice on VA.gov. Veterans who prefer their current sign-in method don't need to do anything. Veterans who want to learn more or get started with CLEAR can visit VA.gov.

Calnex and VIAVI expand partnership to deliver end-to-end network and application performance validation for next-generation networks.

The combined portfolio will enable customers to recreate real-world network conditions, validate user experience and accelerate deployment for the AI, Data Center, Defense, Satcom and Enterprise markets

EDINBURGH, Scotland, Oct. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Calnex Solutions Plc (Calnex) (LSE:CLX) today announced an expansion to its strategic partnership with VIAVI Solutions. Combining Calnex's unique network emulation portfolio (SNE, SNE-X and SNE-Ignite) and VIAVI's industry-leading L0-7 ONE LabPro™, TestCenter and CyberFlood solutions, the partnership offers realistic traffic generation, user emulation and network impairment technologies in a combined test architecture.

The collective offering from Calnex and VIAVI will enable those working across the network infrastructure ecosystem to generate realistic application and user traffic, recreate real-world network conditions, and measure the resulting impact on network and application performance before deployment.

"Networks continue to evolve, and as technologies advance, so too does the complexity and diversity of the topologies supported by the infrastructure. This growing complexity places greater demands on pre-deployment testing, yet many validation environments still fail to mirror real-world network conditions, increasing the risk of performance issues after launch. We are excited to expand our relationship with VIAVI to address this need for our customers across the AI, Data Center, Defense, Satcom and Enterprise sectors." said Graeme Urquhart, VP Sales, Calnex Solutions. "Combining our resources enables us to build on our strong industry relationships, drive sustainable growth, and deliver exceptional value to our customers by offering access to these leading technologies globally."

"The combination of realistic traffic generation and accurate network emulation delivers a powerful foundation for performance assurance," said Mark Bateman, Vice President, Sales and Channel, Lab and Production, VIAVI. "Together with Calnex, we are helping customers move beyond lab simulations to confidently validate how applications, services and networks will perform in production environments."

The expanded partnership builds on the companies' existing collaboration for the comprehensive testing of Open RAN products across the protocol, signal and timing domains, leveraging VIAVI's TM500, TeraVM and XEdge platforms and Calnex's Paragon-neo, SNE-Ignite and SNE-X.

"All Access with Andy Garcia" to Explore Skydiving and Community with Skydive Spaceland

Upcoming segment will examine the path from a first tandem jump to solo training, and the people who share the sport.

HOUSTON, Oct. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- "All Access with Andy Garcia" is scheduled to film at Skydive Spaceland Houston on October 9, 2026, for an upcoming educational segment exploring the thrill of skydiving and the community that forms around it. The segment will capture the experience of a first jump and explore what inspires some people to keep learning and return to the sky beyond a single bucket-list adventure.

Founded by the Boyd family in 2000, Skydive Spaceland has grown from its Houston, Texas beginnings to four skydiving centers in Texas and South Florida. All locations fly full-time schedules, welcoming first-time tandem jumpers as well as experienced skydivers. For those who want to continue beyond the first jump, the company's Skydiver Training Program offers an expedited solo training, with students achieving their solo skydiving license in as little as 4-7 days (or at their own pace).

The segment will explore the preparation, training, and personal responsibility involved in a jump. It will also look at the relationships that form between jumps, when students, instructors and returning skydivers share their experiences. At Skydive Spaceland, the first jump is often the start of a continuing connection with the sport and its community —possibly even a new lifestyle focusing on adventure and personal achievement with like-minded friends.

"We often say you come for the skydive, but you stay for the people", said Steve Boyd, Sr., founder/owner of Skydive Spaceland. "Skydivers tend to quickly become the family you choose."
