TGS | 4C Report Finds Growing Divide Between Offshore Wind Construction and New Investment in 2026 Pipeline
Image File
Original HTML

OSLO, Norway (September 21, 2026) — Offshore wind is continuing to deliver projects in 2026, but the pipeline of new investment remains under pressure, according to TGS | 4C’s latest quarterly Global Market Overview.

Only 2.1 GW has reached final investment decision so far in 2026, while more than 12 GW is expected to enter operation this year. By year-end 5.6 GW is expected to reach FID, which would make 2026 the second-lowest year for offshore wind investment decisions since 2020.

Final consent awards are advancing strongly, with 22.2 GW forecast to receive consent in 2026, making it the second-highest year on record.

The contrast highlights a central challenge facing the industry: both early-phase development assets and projects under construction are progressing, yet developers remain cautious about committing capital to the next generation of projects.

“2026 is turning into a year of contrasts for offshore wind,” said Ivar Slengesol, Managing Director and VP of TGS | 4C. “While energy security concerns are giving offshore wind a political boost, general market uncertainties are making financing more challenging. The next phase will depend on whether governments, developers and the supply chain can create the conditions needed to unlock the projects already in development.”

Geopolitical uncertainty and high costs weigh on industry

Global offshore wind capacity currently stands at around 92.7 GW in operation, with a further 41.2 GW under construction and 7.1 GW at FID.

New projects continue to face economic pressure. Prolonged geopolitical uncertainty, higher financing costs and rising commodity prices are increasing the cost of developing and financing offshore wind projects. Long-term borrowing costs in the UK, US and euro area remain around their highest levels in 15 years, while steel prices are 53% higher year-on-year.

Financing costs are a critical factor in whether projects proceed. TGS | 4C estimates that a one percentage-point increase in the cost of capital can increase the levelised cost of electricity for an offshore wind project by around 9–11%.

Foundations analysis: structural supply chain crunch unlikely

The latest report also provides a detailed assessment of the offshore wind foundation market, with around 19,400 foundations forecast to be installed globally between 2026 and 2040.

Monopiles remain the preferred foundation type, while floating foundations are expected to account for 11% of demand. In Europe, available monopile and jacket manufacturing capacity means a structural supply shortage is unlikely.

“Our latest analysis gives developers, EPC contractors and investors a clearer view of where supply-chain risk and opportunity are likely to emerge through 2040. By examining the foundations needed to support future projects, the report provides greater visibility of the supply-chain capacity required to deliver future growth,” said Jordan May, senior analyst and lead author of the Global Market Overview.

Long-term outlook revised

TGS | 4C has also revised its long-term global offshore wind outlook to around 474 GW by 2040. The revision reflects continued uncertainty around project economics, financing, policy and delivery timelines.

The Quarterly Market Overview Report is available exclusively to TGS | 4C subscribers, providing detailed forecasts, regional analysis and insights into policy, auctions and project pipelines across global offshore wind markets. This edition also introduces a new deep dive into offshore wind foundation concepts.

TGS Q3 2026 Operational Update
Image File
Original HTML

OSLO, Norway (8 October 2026) – TGS, a leading global provider of energy data and intelligence, routinely publishes a quarterly operational update six working days after quarter-end.

The table below shows TGS’ normalized Ocean Bottom Node (OBN) crew count¹:

1) The table shows the average number of crews in operation when assuming a normalized crew size.

The table below shows TGS’ allocation of active seismic streamer 3D vessel capacity2.

2) The statistics include active seismic 3D streamer vessels (capacity working on site characterization projects is excluded).

Based on preliminary financial review, TGS expects multi-client investment to be approximately USD 63 million in Q3 2026, compared to USD 85.9 million in Q3 2025.

Kristian Johansen, CEO of TGS, commented: “The normalized Ocean Bottom Node (OBN) crew count in Q3 was 2.2, slightly above expectations. During the quarter, TGS completed an OBN contract in the Gulf of America for a client where we have a long-term capacity agreement and a node-on-a-rope contract in Europe. Despite high streamer 3D vessel booking going into Q3, utilization came in lower than expected due to operational challenges on a North Sea multi-client project that was completed in September. Looking ahead, we expect streamer 3D vessel utilization to remain high, with all our streamer 3D vessel capacity booked for Q4.”

TGS will release its Q3 2026 results at 07:00 a.m. CEST on 22 October 2026. CEO Kristian Johansen and CFO Sven Børre Larsen will present the results at 09:00 a.m. CEST, webcasted live.

TGS Expands Alaska Subsurface Intelligence Portfolio with New Regional 3D and 2D-Cubed Products
Image File
Original HTML

OSLO, Norway (9 October 2026) – TGS, a leading global provider of energy data and intelligence, today announced two new regional seismic products designed to support exploration and appraisal activities across Alaska's North Slope and Arctic frontier. The new offerings, Great Bear Merge 3D and Alaska Regional 2D-cubed, leverage TGS' extensive data library and advanced imaging capabilities to provide customers with broader regional subsurface insight across one of the world's most prospective hydrocarbon regions.

The Great Bear Merge 3D project combines multiple legacy seismic surveys into a seamless regional dataset covering approximately 1,366 square miles across Alaska's North Slope. Reprocessed using modern imaging technologies including FWI, the project delivers improved data quality and continuity across historical survey boundaries, providing customers with a consistent regional framework for evaluating exploration and development opportunities.

The Alaska Regional 2D-Cubed project complements the 3D offering by integrating approximately 667,640 square kilometers of seismic data from across the North Slope, Beaufort Sea, and Chukchi Sea into a single, regionally consistent interpretation volume. By combining legacy 2D and 3D seismic data through a unified processing and imaging workflow, the project creates a continuous subsurface framework that enables basin-scale screening of remaining onshore recoverable reserves to the additional opportunities in the Beaufort, and particularly Chukchi, Seas connecting the multiple oil discoveries offshore to the commercially successful Permian-Cretaceous stacked plays onshore.

Together, these projects provide customers with access to a more complete regional understanding of Alaska's evolving exploration landscape, helping to support acreage evaluation, prospect identification, and strategic decision-making.

David Hajovsky, EVP of Multi-Client, said: “As industry interest grows across Alaska's onshore and offshore basins, customers are increasingly seeking a regional perspective that extends beyond individual surveys. These new products connect decades of seismic data into unified regional frameworks, helping customers better understand basin-scale geology and identify opportunities across the region's evolving exploration landscape.”

The new products further strengthen TGS' position as a leading provider of subsurface intelligence in Alaska, where the company maintains one of the industry's most extensive seismic data portfolios.

Norway Takes the Next Step as an International Test Arena with Bristow Group and Electra

- Project tests will showcase Electra's hybrid-electric Ultra Short aircraft, which can take off and land in as little as 50 meters, transforming the way people travel to hard-to-reach, regional destinations

VÆRNES, Norway, April 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Bristow Group Inc., Electra, Avinor, and the Norwegian Civil Aviation Authority today announced the launch and contract signing of a second international test project for zero‑ and low‑emission aviation. The project builds on Norway's established international test arena and aims to generate operational, regulatory and market knowledge supporting the introduction of electric and hybrid‑electric aircraft.

The Challenge with Regional Mobility

In countries like Norway, geography can make regional travel time-consuming and inefficient. Electra's breakthrough design is built to overcome these challenges, creating new opportunities for sustainable aviation that connect remote communities with regional centers.

Electra's hybrid-electric airplane operates from ultra-short access points, the size of a football pitch/soccer field, and dramatically reduces travel times by flying directly across terrain and waterways that make surface transportation frustrating and slow.

From Prototype to System-Level Learning

Under the agreement, Electra and Bristow will conduct demonstrations involving Electra's hybrid-electric Ultra Short aircraft. The goal is to examine the possibilities of novel aircraft operations to transform regional mobility networks, unlocking capabilities not possible with a conventional aircraft or even a helicopter.

The demonstration flights will focus on several use cases, including integration of ultra‑short operations at existing short runways, the use of novel access points like parking lots, drone pads or fields to support unserved or underserved communities, and the ability to feed services into major hub airports without adding congestion.

Each demonstration will provide insight into emissions reductions, novel operational concepts, and the scalability of regional air mobility services. Structured testing under Norway's regulatory sandbox will also give regulators practical insight into how these operations can be evaluated and supported.

Phased Test Programme

Testing will be carried out in phases, progressing from operations at smaller airports in Northern Norway, to testing from novel or adapted access points, and finally, to operations feeding into a major Norwegian aviation hub. Exact test locations will be defined during the preparation phase and concluded within approximately six months, with the aim of commencing test operations mid-2027.

Next step for Norway as an international test arena

Building on experience from the first international test project, the programme moves beyond route‑specific testing to broader exploration of operational, infrastructural and regulatory aspects. In doing so, it strengthens the test arena as a platform for systematic learning and represents a further step toward the phased introduction of zero‑ and low‑emission aviation technologies.

The contract signing was held at Trondheim Airport, Værnes, which represents one of the environments under consideration for future test activities.

"This project marks a new step in the further development of Norway's international test arena for zero‑ and low‑emission aviation," said the Norwegian Minister of Transport, Jon-Ivar Nygård. "The test arena is an important instrument in preparing aviation for new technologies. The government's role is to support this work by providing clear frameworks and long‑term predictability. In a long and sparsely populated country like Norway, where aviation is essential for regional mobility and accessibility, it is particularly important to gain knowledge about how new solutions can be introduced in a safe and responsible manner when the technology is mature."

"With over 75 years of operating experience, Bristow knows what it takes to turn promising technology into practical operations," said Dave Stepanek, Bristow Executive Vice President, Chief Transformation Officer. "That's what makes our work with Electra so important. The aircraft's ultra-short takeoff and landing capability creates exciting possibilities, and our role is to help validate how that aircraft can perform safely and effectively in real-world conditions."

"Electra's hybrid-electric Ultra Short aircraft opens the door to lowering emissions and new connectivity beyond the limits of traditional aircraft," said Diana Siegel, Vice President of Commercial Programs at Electra. "Realizing that potential requires the right ecosystem. Partnering with Bristow, Avinor, and the Norwegian Civil Aviation Authority brings together operations, infrastructure and regulation to demonstrate novel operations at both existing airfields and new access points."

"With this project, we are taking a further step in preparing aviation infrastructure for the introduction of zero‑ and low‑emission aircraft," said Karianne Helland Strand, EVP Sustainability and Infrastructure at Avinor. "As the owner and operator of airports and airspace infrastructure, Avinor's role is to facilitate real‑world testing – both in the air and on the ground – so new aircraft and operational concepts can be assessed safely and efficiently."

"With this technological platform, new parts of the regulatory framework will be tested and assessed. A key task for CAA Norway will be to obtain the necessary approvals for these trials to be conducted within our established regulatory sandbox," said Director General, Lars Kobberstad. "We will be able to further improve our safety model for managing risks in an innovation setting. Furthermore, the project gives us a chance to develop our competence and contribute to a more efficient introduction of new technologies."

About the International Test Arena

Norway's international test arena for zero‑ and low‑emission aviation is a government‑backed initiative led by Avinor and the Norwegian Civil Aviation Authority. It is designed to accelerate introduction of zero- and low-emission technologies and reduce risk through real‑world testing and regulatory development.

Bristow Group Reports First Quarter 2026 Results

HOUSTON, May 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ --

First Quarter Highlights

- Total revenues of $388.7 million in Q1 2026 compared to $377.3 million in Q4 2025

- Net income of $13.1 million, or $0.44 per diluted share, in Q1 2026 compared to net income of $18.4 million, or $0.61 per diluted share, in Q4 2025

- Adjusted EBITDA(1) in Q1 2026 was $59.3 million compared to $60.1 million in Q4 2025

- Affirmed 2026 Adjusted EBITDA outlook range of $295 - $325 million

Bristow Group Inc. (NYSE: VTOL) ("Bristow" or the "Company") today reported net income attributable to the Company of $13.1 million, or $0.44 per diluted share, for the quarter ended March 31, 2026 (the "Current Quarter") on total revenues of $388.7 million compared to net income attributable to the Company of $18.4 million, or $0.61 per diluted share, for the quarter ended December 31, 2025 (the "Preceding Quarter") on total revenues of $377.3 million.

The following table provides select financial highlights for the periods reflected (in thousands, except per share amounts). A reconciliation of net income to EBITDA and Adjusted EBITDA, operating income to Adjusted Operating Income and net cash provided by (used in) operating activities to Free Cash Flow and Adjusted Free Cash Flow is included in the "Non-GAAP Financial Measures" section herein.

"Bristow's first quarter results place us on track for what is expected to be a transformational year for the Company in 2026," said Chris Bradshaw, President and CEO of Bristow Group. "Bristow is favorably positioned to benefit from three global megatrends, namely: increased defense spending; the importance of energy security; and the electrification of transportation. In the context of a complicated geopolitical landscape and expectations for structurally higher defense spending, we believe there will be compelling organic and inorganic growth opportunities for a specialized aviation services provider with Bristow's track record, operational expertise, and financial flexibility. Recent geopolitical events have also placed an enduring emphasis on where hydrocarbon supplies are located, and the established offshore energy basins that Bristow services represent some of the most attractive and secure sources of supply. In addition, Bristow has created significant option value, with minimal capital commitment to date, as an early leader in what is expected to be a large and rapidly growing addressable market for new generation electric and hybrid-electric aircraft."

Sequential Quarter Results

Offshore Energy Services

Revenues from Offshore Energy Services were $6.9 million higher in the Current Quarter. Revenues in the Americas were $5.6 million higher primarily due to increased rates and higher utilization in the U.S. and Trinidad. Revenues in Africa were $4.0 million higher primarily due to higher utilization and other revenues driven by activity. Revenues in Europe were $2.8 million lower primarily due to lower utilization and reimbursable revenues in the UK, partially offset by favorable foreign exchange impacts.

Operating income from Offshore Energy Services was $6.5 million lower in the Current Quarter primarily due to higher depreciation and amortization expense of $6.0 million, higher operating expenses of $5.6 million and lower earnings from unconsolidated affiliates of $1.8 million, partially offset by the higher revenues.

The higher depreciation and amortization expense was due to accelerated depreciation on S76D medium helicopters resulting from a revision to their estimated useful lives. Repairs and maintenance costs were $10.6 million higher primarily due to lower vendor credits. Leased‑in equipment costs were $0.8 million higher primarily due to additional aircraft leases. Personnel costs were $3.1 million lower primarily due to lower severance costs in Africa and lower benefits costs and decreased headcount in the U.S. Other operating costs were $2.9 million lower primarily due to lower reimbursable expenses and subcontractor costs, partially offset by higher training costs. Earnings from unconsolidated affiliates were $1.8 million lower in the Current Quarter primarily due to dividends received in the Preceding Quarter.

Government Services

Revenues from Government Services were $7.8 million higher in the Current Quarter primarily due to the transition of the Irish Coast Guard ("IRCG") contract, including the full quarter impact of the Sligo base that commenced operations in the Preceding Quarter and the commencement of operations at the final base in Waterford in the Current Quarter. Operating income was $0.9 million in the Current Quarter compared to an operating loss of $1.6 million in the Preceding Quarter primarily due to the higher revenues, partially offset by higher operating expenses of $4.8 million and higher general and administrative expenses of $0.5 million. The increase in operating expenses was due to higher repairs and maintenance costs of $2.3 million primarily related to the timing of repairs, higher personnel costs of $1.6 million due to increased operating personnel headcount in Ireland and higher leased-in equipment costs of $0.5 million related to ongoing transition activities on the second-generation UK search and rescue ("UKSAR2G") contract. The increase in general and administrative expenses was primarily due to higher professional services fees.

Other Services

Revenues from Other Services were $3.2 million lower in the Current Quarter primarily due to lower seasonal utilization in Australia, partially offset by favorable foreign exchange rate impacts. Operating loss was $1.3 million in the Current Quarter compared to operating income of $1.5 million in the Preceding Quarter, primarily due to the lower seasonal revenues, partially offset by lower operating expenses of $0.4 million related to lower activity.

Corporate

Operating loss was $0.6 million in the Current Quarter compared to an operating loss of $10.0 million in the Preceding Quarter, primarily due to net gains on asset dispositions of $7.6 million in the Current Quarter compared to net losses of $2.1 million in the Preceding Quarter. During the Current Quarter, the Company sold two heavy helicopters and various other assets. During the Preceding Quarter, the Company sold or otherwise disposed of a heavy helicopter and various other assets.

Interest income was $1.0 million higher in the Current Quarter primarily due to income earned from U.S. Treasury bill investments on escrowed funds used in the satisfaction and discharge of the 6.875% Senior Secured Notes.

Interest expense was $3.4 million higher primarily due to higher debt balances and concurrent interest expense incurred during the refinancing of the Company's 6.875% Senior Notes.

Loss on extinguishment of debt was $2.8 million due to the write off of unamortized deferred financing fees associated with the redemption of the 6.875% Senior Notes.

Other expense, net of $5.4 million in the Current Quarter was primarily due to foreign exchange losses. Other expense, net of $2.9 million in the Preceding Quarter primarily resulted from pension-related costs of $4.9 million and foreign exchange losses of $3.1 million, partially offset by gains on insurance recoveries of $5.0 million.

Affirms 2026 Outlook

Please refer to the section entitled "Forward-Looking Statements Disclosure" below for further discussion regarding the risks and uncertainties as well as other important information regarding Bristow's guidance. The following guidance contains non-GAAP financial measures. Please read the section entitled "Non-GAAP Financial Measures" for further information.

Select financial outlook for 2026 is as follows (in USD, millions):

Capital Allocation and Liquidity

In the Current Quarter, purchases of property and equipment were $41.3 million, of which $4.4 million were maintenance capital expenditures, and cash proceeds from the sale of assets were $24.9 million. In the Preceding Quarter, purchases of property and equipment were $29.1 million, of which $6.0 million were maintenance capital expenditures, and cash proceeds from the sale of assets were $2.0 million.

As of March 31, 2026, the Company had $342.1 million of unrestricted cash and $51.5 million of remaining availability under its asset-based revolving credit facility (the "ABL Facility") for total liquidity of $393.6 million. Borrowings under the ABL Facility are subject to satisfaction of certain terms and conditions.

Net cash used in operating activities was $8.3 million in the Current Quarter compared to net cash provided by operating activities of $76.9 million in the Preceding Quarter. The negative variance is primarily due to changes in working capital, namely an increase in accounts receivable. This is primarily attributable to timing, as the Company does not have a material amount of aged receivables.

During the Current Quarter, Bristow declared a dividend of $0.125 per share of common stock and paid $3.7 million in cash dividends.

On April 30, 2026, Bristow declared a dividend of $0.125 per share of common stock, payable on May 29, 2026, to shareholders of record at the close of business on May 15, 2026.

Conference Call

The Company's management will conduct a conference call starting at 10:00 a.m. ET (9:00 a.m. CT) on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, to review results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2026. The conference call can be accessed using the following link:

HOUSTON, May 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Bristow Group Inc. (NYSE: VTOL), the leading global provider of innovative and sustainable vertical flight solutions, today announced the release of its annual Sustainability Report, highlighting significant achievements in advanced air mobility (AAM), safety performance, environmental stewardship, governance, and community engagement.

"Sustainability is part of how we operate every day, including how we manage risk, support our people, serve customers, and position the Company for the future," said Bristow President and CEO Chris Bradshaw. "In 2025, that work was especially evident in our advanced air mobility achievements, where we applied our safety culture and operational discipline to emerging aviation technologies, while continuing to deliver strong performance across search and rescue (SAR), environmental management, governance, and community engagement."

Safety remains Bristow's number one Core Value and the foundation of its business. In 2025, the Company reduced lost workdays by 13 percent compared with the prior year, reflecting the discipline, training, and culture behind its Target Zero commitment. Bristow's global SAR operations further underscored its mission-driven impact, with teams completing 4,416 missions, logging 15,861 operating hours, and assisting or rescuing 784 people worldwide.

One of the report's leading highlights is Bristow's growing role in advanced air mobility. In Norway, the Company completed a first-of-its-kind flight campaign with BETA Technologies' all-electric eCTOL aircraft in the International Test Arena for Zero- and Low-Emission Aviation, conducting 103 flights totaling more than 7,000 nautical miles. The campaign also included the qualification of Bristow's first AAM pilot and engineer. The Company further expanded its position in this market through partnerships and early delivery positions for 12 aircraft, including a Pre-Delivery Payment agreement with Electra that secures the first delivery slot for Electra's EL9 Ultra Short hybrid-electric aircraft, subject to aircraft certification. These efforts support Bristow's long-term strategy to safely commercialize next-generation aviation solutions.

"Our flight campaign with BETA Technologies demonstrates how Bristow is applying its operational discipline and safety-first culture to emerging aviation technologies," said Bradshaw. "Completing more than 100 electric aircraft flights across thousands of nautical miles moves us closer to commercializing lower-emission aviation solutions while maintaining the reliability and performance critical for eventual aircraft certification. Along with our Pre-Delivery Payment agreement for Electra's EL9 Ultra Short hybrid-electric aircraft, we have a lot to be excited about."

On environmental performance, Bristow improved the quality of its emissions data and lowered Scope 1 carbon intensity per flight hour from 1.88 to 1.76. The Company also achieved ISO 14001 certification for its Ireland operations during its first full year of operations there.

Bristow also advanced its commitment to ethical business practices by introducing a new Supplier Code of Conduct, enhancing supplier and human rights expectations, and supporting Company-wide training on the use of AI tools and platforms. These efforts are part of Bristow's broader governance framework and commitment to transparency, accountability, and sustainable growth.

Community engagement also remained a priority in 2025. Through the Bristow Uplift program, the Company contributed more than $700,000 to local organizations and initiatives, supporting communities where its employees live and work.

Bristow's 2025 Sustainability Report aligns with globally recognized frameworks, including the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
