Therakos Receives MDR Approval in Europe for Treating Immune-Related Adverse Events in Patients with Inadequate Response to Corticosteroids

DUBLIN, Oct. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Therakos Development Limited, a global pioneer in immunomodulatory therapy delivered at the bedside through extracorporeal photopheresis (ECP), announced today that its THERAKOS™ CELLEX™ Photopheresis System has received certification under the EU MDR for an expanded indication. The system is now indicated in Europe for the treatment of immune-related adverse events (irAEs) associated with immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) therapy in adults who have had an inadequate response to corticosteroids. It is the first and only therapy approved for this use anywhere in the world.

ICI therapy has transformed cancer care by harnessing the immune system to deliver durable antitumor responses. However, this same immune activation can trigger potentially severe irAEs, compromising treatment continuity and patient outcomes. Corticosteroids remain the standard initial treatment for clinically significant irAEs, often requiring interruption or discontinuation of ICI therapy. For patients who do not respond adequately, additional immunosuppressive treatments may be necessary, potentially further compromising antitumor immunity. These challenges underscore a critical unmet need for therapeutic approaches that effectively manage immune-related toxicities while preserving the benefits of cancer immunotherapy.

"The management of steroid-refractory irAEs remains a challenge since data on effectiveness of different drugs is scarce and immunosuppression can hinder antitumor response. The THERAKOS™ CELLEX™ Photopheresis System, which is now approved for this indication in Europe, represents a significant advancement in treatment of steroid-refractory irAEs," said Prof. Dr. Lucie Heinzerling, MPH, Professor of Dermatology and Venereology, LMU University Hospital, Ludwig Maximilian University.

"At Therakos, we are committed to addressing the needs of patients who are impacted by immune-related complications of ICI therapy," said Sandra Thompson, Co-Chief Executive Officer, Therakos. "As the first and only therapy approved to treat these complications, the THERAKOS™ CELLEX™ Photopheresis System gives European medical oncology teams an important new option for treating their patients."

ECP takes a different approach than traditional options. Rather than broadly suppressing the immune system, it is designed to help re-establish immune balance using the patient's own cells. The goal is to address the toxicity without broad immunosuppression. It is well established that immunosuppression can compromise the cancer therapy itself.

"Immune-related toxicity has long been treated as a systemic problem, but it's better understood as a tissue-specific one. ECP resolves inflammation at the site where it occurs, through the body's own anti-inflammatory signaling, rather than suppressing the immune system broadly. As immunotherapy reaches more patients and more combinations, managing its toxicity without compromising its benefit will define how far the field can go. This expanded indication in Europe puts a therapy that does exactly that in clinicians' hands," said Prof. Dr. Robert Zeiser, Professor of Medicine and Director of the Division of Tumor Immunology at the Department of Hematology, Oncology, and Stem-Cell Transplantation at the Medical Center University of Freiburg.

Clinicians can access the THERAKOS™ CELLEX™ Photopheresis System for irAEs associated with ICI therapy in adults who have had an inadequate response to corticosteroids through an existing network of over 190 centres in Europe as a result of this MDR approval.

About Therakos

Therakos is a global pioneer in autologous immunomodulatory therapy delivered at the bedside through Extracorporeal Photopheresis (ECP). Supported by more than four decades of clinical experience and evidence-based medicine, the Therakos ECP system was among the first FDA-approved cell-based immunomodulatory therapies. Our mission is to restore and protect human immunity. Rather than broadly suppressing the immune system, our approach is designed to help re-establish immune balance by harnessing the power of a patient's own cells. Through ongoing investment in research, evidence generation, and innovation, we are advancing the science of immunomodulation to expand understanding and improve outcomes for patients living with complex immune-mediated diseases. About Extracorporeal Photopheresis (ECP)

ECP is an immunomodulatory therapy delivered at the bedside. A small volume of the patient's white blood cells is collected, treated with a photoactive agent and ultraviolet A light, and returned to the patient. Rather than broadly suppressing the immune system, ECP is designed to help re-establish immune balance using the patient's own cells.

SAGA Metals Completes Diamond Drill Program at the Wolverine Rare Earth Project - All 22 Holes Totalling 3,241 Metres Intersect Prospective REE-Bearing Alteration
Image File
Original HTML

VANCOUVER, BC, Oct. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- SAGA Metals Corp.("SAGA" or the "Company") (TSXV: SAGA) (OTCQX: SAGMF) (FSE: 20H), a North American exploration company focused on critical mineral discoveries, is pleased to announce the successful completion of its maiden diamond drill program at the 100%-owned Wolverine Heavy Rare Earth Element Project in Labrador, Canada. The program consisted of 22 diamond drill holes (DDHs) totalling 3,241 metres and represents the first systematic diamond drilling conducted on the property.

The 2026 field program had three primary objectives: (1) execute a maiden diamond drill program to test REE mineralization previously documented by historic reverse circulation (RC) drilling, backpack drilling, and surface sampling; (2) conduct detailed alteration and outcrop mapping in the vicinity of the drill program; and (3) undertake prospecting and rock sampling of additional potentially mineralized areas outside the immediate drill footprint.

Program Highlights

Completion of 22 diamond drill holes totalling 3,241 metres.

Promising alteration assemblage interpreted as related to REE mineralization identified in all 22 holes.

Two holes fully logged and sampled, returning thick intervals of Unit 4 (up to 118.75 m) with extensive alteration from near surface to end of hole.

Prospecting confirmed and expanded the distribution of Units 3, 4, and 5 over a large portion of the property.

New and historic pegmatites and aplite dykes located in the south of the property, significantly expanding the targeted areas.

Early indications of structurally controlled, sub vertical epithermal-style mineralization with potential depth extent.

Diamond Drill Program Details

All 22 holes were drilled at an azimuth of 230° and a dip of -85°. The program focused on an area of known REE mineralization and systematically tested the crystal-poor ash tuff (Unit 4), its upper contact with crystal tuff (Unit 5), and its lower contact with crystal tuff (Unit 3), together with multiple step-out holes. End-of-hole depths ranged from 43 m to 204 m.

Quick logging completed by the on-site geologist identified an alteration assemblage interpreted to be associated with REE mineralization in all 22 holes (see Figure 1 for completed drill holes). To date, two holes have been fully logged and sampled:

W26-001 (182 m total depth): The upper 13.1 m intersected a red quartz-feldspar crystal tuff of Unit 5, which grades into a variable sequence of ash tuff, lithic tuff, ignimbrite, and crystal tuff of Unit 4. Alteration cycles between sericite-dominant and chlorite-dominant intervals, both associated with sulphides. Unit 4 is 118.75 m thick and grades into Unit 3 crystal tuff at 120.55 m, which continues to the end of the hole. Alteration was logged from 1.8 m to the end of the hole (total alteration interval of 180.2 m). 138 core samples were collected.

W26-002 (179 m total depth): The upper 31.9 m is red quartz-feldspar crystal tuff of Unit 5, grading into ignimbrite, ash tuff, and crystal tuff of Unit 4. Alteration switches between sulphidic, chloritic, and sericitic intervals. Unit 4 is 50.97 m thick and grades into beige crystal tuff of Unit 3 by 82.87 m, which continues to the end of the hole. Alteration was logged from 0.35 m essentially to the end of the hole (total alteration interval of approximately 178.65 m). 139 core samples were collected.

Logging and sampling of the remaining 20 holes are in progress. Assay results from the fully sampled holes are pending. The Company anticipates receiving and reporting initial assay results in batches in due course.

Prospecting and Rock Sampling

Prospecting was conducted during the diamond drill program over a two-month period across other portions of the Wolverine property. A total of 136 grab samples were collected (see Figure 2 for sample locations); assays are pending. Units 5, 4, and 3 were identified in multiple locations across the property, indicating that the prospective volcanic sequence has significant lateral extent and that future drilling can be meaningfully expanded beyond the 2026 drill footprint.

Scintillometer-supported prospecting in the southern part of the property confirmed the presence of multiple previously identified pegmatites and resulted in the discovery of numerous new pegmatites and aplite dykes (See Figure 3).

Alteration-structural observations

Preliminary observations from core and outcrop support the interpretation that the REE mineralization is hosted within a propylitic (chlorite-dominant) alteration zone developed in Units 3, 4, and 5 (Figure 4) Limited intervals of argillic alteration Chloritization occurs both as pervasive replacement of the volcanic rocks and is accompanied by chlorite+sulphide+REE-bearing carbonate-bearing veins, fractures and breccias oriented at various angles to the core axis. Notably, many of the more significant fracture and breccia domains are oriented parallel to sub-parallel to the core axis. Given the steep inclination of the drill holes, these fracture-breccia structures are interpreted as sub vertical hydrothermal feeder structures that formed stratiform-like alteration zones in volcanic units 5, 4 and 3. These structurally-controlled, sub vertical fracture-breccia networks have the mineralogical attributes that unequivocally indicate formation from a volatile-rich magmatic-hydrothermal fluid derived from an overpressured hydrothermal reservoir related to peralkalaine intrusions.

Next Steps

The Company will complete logging and sampling of the remaining holes and submit samples for assay. Detailed mapping data will be fully analysed and integrated with the drill results. An induced polarization (IP) survey is planned for Q2 2027; interpretation of the IP data, combined with the 2026 geological and assay results, is expected to guide a follow-up drill program targeting the downward extensions of the interpreted hydrothermal feeders into potential source rocks.

Michael Garagan, Director and Chief Geological Officer of Saga Metals, commented: "The 2026 maiden diamond drill program at Wolverine has successfully confirmed the presence of the target alteration assemblage in every hole drilled and has provided the first systematic look at the volcanic sequence at depth. Combined with the mapping and prospecting results, which demonstrate that the prospective units and additional pegmatite targets extend well beyond the current drill area, we have generated a substantial data set that will shape our 2027 exploration strategy and maiden Mineral Resource Estimate. We look forward to receiving the assay results, advancing the geological model and continuing our goal of proving that the Flowers River Igneous Suite contained within the Wolverine project, the largest peralkaline intrusive volcanic complex in Labrador, can compete and rival the likes of Torngat Metals' Strange Lake Rare Earth Project and Critical Metals Corp.'s Tanbreez Rare Earth Project."

About SAGA Metals Corp.

SAGA Metals Corp. is a North American mining company focused on the exploration and discovery of a diversified suite of critical minerals that support the North American transition to supply security. The 100% owned Radar Ti-V-Fe Project comprises 24,175 hectares and entirely encloses the Dykes River intrusive complex, mapped at 160 km² on the surface near Cartwright, Labrador. Exploration to date, including 24,641 m of drilling in the Hawkeye and Trapper zones, has confirmed a large, mineralized layered mafic intrusion hosting vanadiferous titanomagnetite (VTM) and ilmenite mineralization with consistently uniform grades of titanium, vanadium and iron.

The 100% owned Wolverine Heavy Rare Earth Element Project in Labrador, is a near-surface REE system hosted within peralkaline volcanic rocks that shares petrological similarities with the intrusion-hosted Tanbreez, Strange Lake deposits and the stratiform Brockman (Hastings) REE deposit, Western Australia. Historic drilling on the Wolverine prospect identified consistent mineralization with assays up to 2.03% TREO including approximately 28% HREO. Large scale potential is supported by 26 km2 of exposed mineralization tuff at surface with about 5% of the prospective unit drilled to date. In addition, grab sample assays of pegmatite hosted in peralkaline granite returned up to 21.6% TREO.

The 100% owned Double Mer Uranium Project covers 25,600 hectares and features uranium radiometrics that highlight an 18 km east-west trend, with a confirmed 14 km section producing samples as high as 0.428% U3O8. (2024 Double Mer Technical Report).

Additionally, SAGA owns the Legacy Lithium Project in Quebec's Eeyou Istchee James Bay region. This project spans 73,866 hectares and has geological attributes similar to nearby terrains currently being explored by Rio Tinto, Li-FT Power, SOQUEM, and Loyal Metals.

With a portfolio spanning key commodities critical to the clean energy future, SAGA is strategically positioned to play an essential role in securing critical minerals.

Statement From Granite Telecommunications

Original HTML

QUINCY, Mass., Oct. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Granite Telecommunications confirmed today that a former employee, George Meegan, has been indicted on criminal charges including larceny, filing a false tax return and money laundering. The charges arise from a Granite internal investigation which revealed that Meegan had used his company credit card to purchase gift cards which he falsely claimed he was donating to local charities as part of the company's charitable programs.

Granite has donated over $400 million to charitable causes since 2002 and has consistently been recognized as one of the most philanthropic companies in Massachusetts. Granite's investigation revealed that Meegan abused a position of trust with respect to Granite's charitable activities to carry out this criminal activity. Through its investigation, Granite learned that Meegan represented to Granite that he had given the gift cards to charitable causes. In fact, Meegan kept the gift cards — worth over $225,000 — for his personal use.

Granite immediately alerted authorities after it discovered Meegan's scheme, and the company has cooperated fully with law enforcement investigators throughout their investigation.

Limber Health Launches Recovery Forecast, the First-Ever Predicted Outcomes Solution for Rehab Therapy
Image File

Built on the largest risk-adjusted patient outcomes database in rehab therapy, Limber's Recovery Forecast replaces traditional single point-in-time forecasts or MCID comparisons with a 90-day outlook

PITTSBURGH, Oct. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Limber Health, a Net Health company, today announced Recovery Forecast, the first-ever predicted outcomes trajectory solution for rehab therapy. Built into the Limber outcomes platform, Recovery Forecast maps each patient's expected path throughout care by comparing them with millions of completed assessments and applying robust risk adjustment. Available to clients this fall, this new clinical capability covers the primary MSK regions of injury.

"Current solutions show a point-in-time measurement, but rarely provide context or insight into the score," said Nirav Modi, president of Limber Health. "Recovery Forecast shows clinicians how a patient is progressing through their plan of care, so they can assess, adjust, and guide them toward the best possible improvement."

Because Limber Outcomes follows patients from evaluation through the full episode of care, the expected path stays visible between visits. At intake, the feature predicts each patient's path; then at each reassessment, clinicians compare the actual score with the prediction for real-time context. This gives clinicians an opportunity to adjust the course of care.

"Being able to predict a patient's outcome trajectory is a game changer," said Brian Kelly, Vice President of Innovation & Clinical Excellence at Ivy Health. "It transforms outcomes data into real-time clinical intelligence that enhances patient engagement, empowers proactive clinical decision-making, and ensures every patient is positioned for an optimal recovery."

A newly developed progression indicator, the Predicted Moderate Clinical Improvement (P-MCI), marks where a patient is expected to reach clinically meaningful improvement. P-MCI is already part of commercial payer quality programs. It underpins five functional improvement measures in the CMS proposed rule for the 2027 Physician Fee Schedule, with Limber Health and Patient360 as measure stewards. Asuri.ai Launches Multi-Agent AI Platform for Persistent Business Workflows

The agentic platform helps nontechnical teams save time, eliminate redundant work and deploy specialized AI agents across more than 1,000 existing applications

IRVINE, Calif., Oct. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Asuri today announced the launch of its multi-agent enterprise AI platform, designed to help businesses move beyond copilots and deploy persistent AI workflows across complete business processes.

As AI models become more capable, the challenge for businesses is shifting from generating answers to safely giving AI the context, system access and autonomy required to perform real work.

Asuri brings those pieces into one platform.

Nontechnical teams can define a business process, connect the applications involved, assign specialized agents to different responsibilities, and control what each agent can access, recommend or execute. By coordinating work that would otherwise require employees to repeatedly move between systems, gather information and perform routine follow-ups, Asuri helps organizations save time and remove redundant manual work.

"The model itself is becoming less of the bottleneck," said Artem Bespaloff, CEO and co-founder of Asuri. "The harder problem is coordinating agents across real business systems while giving each one the right context, permissions and level of autonomy."

Unlike traditional AI assistants that primarily respond to prompts, Asuri is designed around persistent multi-agent workflows.

Asuri combines multi-agent orchestration, workflow logic, persistent context and agent-level permission controls in a single environment, with more than 1,000 integrations connecting agents to the software businesses already use.

This allows companies to automate processes across existing systems instead of replacing their technology stack, reducing repetitive administrative work and freeing employees to focus on higher-value decisions and relationships.

As part of its launch, Asuri is introducing prebuilt customer intelligence workflows that consolidate information from multiple business systems, analyze client activity against company-defined rules, and automatically alert employees to significant developments. By eliminating the need to manually track client activity across different platforms, these workflows reduce the workload on sales and research teams, helping them stay informed, identify opportunities, and focus on higher-value activities.

The same architecture can support workflows across sales, operations, finance, customer success, research and internal compliance.

Businesses can learn more and request access at Asuri.ai.

About Asuri

Asuri is a multi-agent enterprise AI platform, built by Sprouter Technologies, for persistent, governed business workflows. With more than 1,000 integrations, Asuri helps organizations connect specialized AI agents across their existing applications, reduce repetitive work, save employee time and automate processes while maintaining individual permissions, autonomy boundaries and human oversight.
