Trenchless Drilling vs Traditional Excavation Explained in HelloNation Featuring Construction Expert David Allegretta
Original HTML

The article outlines key differences in underground utility installation methods and their impact on Albany construction projects.

ALBANY, N.Y., Oct. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - What is the best way to install underground utilities without disrupting busy city environments? HelloNation published an article that answers this question, featuring insights from Construction Expert David Allegretta of JAT Construction in Albany.

The HelloNation article explains the differences between trenchless drilling and traditional excavation, two common approaches used in Albany construction and other urban infrastructure work. Traditional excavation involves digging open trenches to access underground utilities such as pipes and cables. While effective, the article notes that this method can disrupt roads, sidewalks, and surrounding infrastructure, often leading to delays and added costs in active construction projects.

In contrast, trenchless drilling offers a less invasive solution. The article explains that this method uses specialized equipment to create underground pathways without large trenches. This approach allows construction projects to move forward while minimizing disruption to traffic, businesses, and public spaces. For cities like Albany, where infrastructure is dense and space is limited, trenchless drilling provides a practical alternative.

The article highlights that trenchless drilling is particularly useful in areas with heavy vehicle and pedestrian traffic. By avoiding extensive digging, contractors can maintain normal above-ground activity while work continues below. This advantage is especially important throughout the Hudson Valley, the Capital Region, Upstate, Central, and Western New York construction, where maintaining accessibility and minimizing inconvenience are key priorities.

Construction Expert insights featured in the article emphasize that traditional excavation still has its place. The article explains that for simpler projects or areas with fewer surface constraints, traditional excavation may be a suitable and cost-effective option. However, as infrastructure becomes more complex, trenchless drilling is often preferred for its efficiency and reduced impact.

The article also explores specific trenchless drilling techniques, including horizontal directional drilling, pipe bursting, and microtunneling. Each method serves different purposes within underground utilities installation and repair. Horizontal directional drilling is commonly used for installing pipelines and cables beneath obstacles, while pipe bursting is effective for replacing aging infrastructure. These methods allow crews to complete construction projects with greater precision and less surface damage.

Another key point the article covers is cost. While trenchless drilling may cost more upfront than traditional excavation, the article notes that overall savings often come from reduced labor, shorter timelines, and less need for restoration. In Albany construction, where restoring roads and landscapes can be expensive, this efficiency can make a significant difference.

The HelloNation article also explains that trenchless drilling reduces the risk of damaging existing underground utilities. With traditional excavation, there is a higher risk of accidentally disrupting other lines, leading to delays and additional repairs. By using controlled drilling methods, contractors can better navigate complex infrastructure systems.

Environmental considerations are also addressed. The article explains how trenchless drilling reduces soil disturbance and preserves existing landscapes, making it a more environmentally responsible choice for many construction projects. This benefit aligns with growing expectations for sustainable practices in modern infrastructure development.

Ultimately, the article concludes that the decision between trenchless drilling and traditional excavation depends on project needs, location, and budget. Understanding these methods helps construction teams choose the most effective approach for installing and maintaining underground utilities while balancing cost, efficiency, and impact.

Trenchless Drilling vs Traditional Excavation Explained features insights from David Allegretta, a construction expert in Albany, New York, on HelloNation.

Taoping Receives Nasdaq Notification Regarding Minimum Bid Price Deficiency

TIANJIN, China, Oct. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Taoping Inc. (Nasdaq: TAOP, the "Company"), a provider of cloud-based smart city, Internet of Things and intelligent infrastructure solutions, today announced that on October 13, 2026, it received a written notification letter (the "Notification Letter") from The Nasdaq Stock Market LLC ("Nasdaq"), notifying the Company that it is currently not in compliance with the minimum bid price requirement set forth under Nasdaq Listing Rule 5550(a)(2), which requires listed securities to maintain a minimum bid price of US$1.00 per share.

Nasdaq Listing Rule 5810(c)(3)(A) provides that a failure to meet the minimum bid price requirement exists if the deficiency continues for a period of 30 consecutive business days. Based on the closing bid price of the Company's ordinary shares for the 30 consecutive business days from August 31, 2026 through October 12, 2026, the Company no longer meets the minimum bid price requirement. This press release is issued pursuant to Nasdaq Listing Rule 5810(b), which requires prompt disclosure of receipt of the Notification Letter.

Pursuant to Nasdaq Listing Rule 5810(c)(3)(A), the Company has a compliance period of 180 calendar days, or until April 12, 2027 (the "Compliance Period"), to regain compliance with Nasdaq's minimum bid price requirement. If at any time during the Compliance Period the closing bid price of the Company's ordinary shares is at least US$1.00 for a minimum of ten consecutive business days, Nasdaq will provide the Company with written confirmation of compliance and the matter will be closed. However, if at any time during the Compliance Period the closing bid price of the Company's ordinary shares is US$0.10 or less for ten consecutive trading days, Nasdaq will issue a delisting determination with respect to the Company's ordinary shares pursuant to Nasdaq Listing Rule 5810(c)(3)(A)(iii). If the Company chooses to implement a reverse stock split, it must complete the split no later than ten business days prior to April 12, 2027 in order to regain compliance.

In the event the Company does not regain compliance with the minimum bid price requirement by April 12, 2027, the Company may be eligible for an additional 180 calendar day grace period. To qualify, the Company will be required to meet the continued listing requirement for market value of publicly held shares and all other initial listing standards for The Nasdaq Capital Market, with the exception of the bid price requirement, and will need to provide written notice of its intention to cure the deficiency during the second compliance period, by effecting a reverse stock split, if necessary, to Nasdaq. If the Company does not qualify for the second compliance period or fails to regain compliance during the second 180-day period, then Nasdaq will notify the Company of its determination to delist the Company's ordinary shares, at which point the Company will have an opportunity to appeal the delisting determination to a Hearings Panel.

The Notification Letter has no immediate effect on the listing of the Company's ordinary shares, which will continue to trade uninterrupted on Nasdaq under the ticker "TAOP".

The Company intends to monitor the closing bid price of the ordinary shares and may, if appropriate, consider implementing available options to regain compliance with the minimum bid price requirement under Nasdaq Listing Rule 5550(a)(2).

Insurance Expert Aaron Seitz of Macomb, MI, Shares Smart Habits for Lowering Insurance Costs in HelloNation
Original HTML

MACOMB, Mich., Oct. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- How much do your daily habits affect what you pay for insurance? That's the question answered in a HelloNation article featuring Insurance Expert Aaron Seitz of Macomb, Michigan. Given that many people assume their insurance premiums are set in stone, the article highlights how small, consistent decisions can significantly affect long-term costs.

The article explains that one of the most effective ways to lower insurance costs is to bundle auto and home insurance with a single provider. Aaron Seitz notes that bundling often yields immediate savings and simplifies policy management. When homeowners and drivers place all their coverage with one company, insurers typically offer lower premiums due to reduced administrative costs and customer loyalty.

A clean driving record is another key factor. In the HelloNation feature, Seitz explains that avoiding tickets and accidents not only improves road safety but also enhances long-term risk ratings in insurers' eyes. Over time, a clean driving record can lower insurance premiums, making it one of the most valuable habits for drivers.

Modern vehicles and homes equipped with safety enhancements also play a significant role in lowering insurance costs. Cars with anti-theft features, automatic braking, and airbags may qualify for discounts. Similarly, home security systems, such as monitored alarms and reinforced locks, reduce the chance of claims and help keep premiums down. Seitz advises staying current with security updates to make a noticeable difference at renewal.

Another essential habit outlined by Aaron Seitz is conducting an annual coverage review. Insurance needs can change after a mortgage payoff, a job shift, or home renovations. Without regular reviews, policies may continue to include outdated or unnecessary coverage. Seitz emphasizes that a thoughtful coverage review helps align protection with current needs and avoids paying for risk scenarios that no longer apply.

The article also notes that many insurance discounts go unclaimed because they are not automatic. Seitz encourages policyholders to ask about loyalty programs, discounts for defensive driving courses, savings from paperless billing, and low-mileage pricing. These insurance discounts often require updated documentation, which is why periodic communication with an agent is essential.

Technology is another growing influence. For auto policies, usage-based tracking programs monitor driving habits, including speed and braking patterns. When safe driving is confirmed through these tools, insurance premiums can be adjusted downward — without changing coverage levels. This is especially useful for drivers who maintain a clean driving record and want their habits to work in their financial favor.

For homeowners in Macomb, Michigan, local conditions, such as regional weather, traffic levels, and neighborhood crime histories, also affect costs. While these can't be changed, Seitz recommends tailoring coverage to real risks in the area to avoid unnecessary over-insurance. In particular, keeping up with maintenance on roofing, plumbing, and electrical systems signals to insurers that a property is lower risk, potentially helping lower insurance costs at renewal.

Ultimately, the article makes clear that insurance savings come from steady, practical actions — not quick fixes. By bundling auto and home insurance, maintaining a clean driving record, updating home security systems, seeking out insurance discounts, and scheduling regular coverage reviews, policyholders can take control of their premiums and protect what matters without overspending.

Smart Habits That Help Lower Insurance Costs features insights from Aaron Seitz, an insurance expert in Macomb, MI, in HelloNation.

MIAMI, Oct. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Girls who added a prebiotic fiber supplement to their usual diets for a year built more bone than girls who took a placebo, according to a clinical trial led by Florida International University nutrition researcher Cristina Palacios.

Over 12 months, bone mineral content in girls who took soluble corn fiber increased by 18.8%, compared to 12.9% in the placebo group. The same effect was not seen in boys. The results of the National Institutes of Health-funded MetA-Bone clinical trial were published in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

"That 6% may sound like a small difference, but this is a significant, clinically relevant number for just adding this powder to the diet," said Palacios, professor and chair of the department of dietetics and nutrition at FIU's Robert Stempel College of Public Health & Social Work. "That 6% could possibly mean not getting an osteoporotic fracture may years later, after menopause."

The trial tested whether the fiber could help children build more bone mass, as short-term studies show that the fiber helps absorb more calcium, an essential mineral for bone growth, during a critical period of childhood.

"People think about osteoporosis as something that affects their grandparents," Palacios said. "But so much of what happens to our bones later is set in motion when we're young."

Early adolescence, right around when puberty hits, is when the body builds most of the bone mass carried for life. That's why kids need more calcium during these years. The more calcium you deposit during childhood, the more you have to draw on when menopausal changes set in and affect your bones as you age.

Current guidelines recommend adolescents get 1,300 milligrams of calcium daily. That's the equivalent of about three to four servings of dairy. Most kids fall short, however. An estimated 90% of girls and 70% of boys don't get enough. Many also swap calcium-rich milk for sodas, which can actually pull calcium out of bone.

Calcium gets into the body through the walls of the small intestine. How efficiently that happens depends, in part, on the bacteria living in the gut. Certain prebiotics, like soluble fiber, feed the beneficial microbes. As those good bacteria break down the fiber, they produce compounds that help more calcium get absorbed.

To find out whether that absorption boost would actually translate into more bone, Palacios and her colleagues ran a year-long trial in children age 9 to 14 who consumed too little calcium. They kept their usual diets and simply added a twice-daily powder. About half got a soluble corn fiber supplement; the rest, a look-alike placebo. The research team checked their bone mineral content three times — at the start of the study, six months in and again at 12 months — using special dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) scans.

One possible explanation for why boys didn't see the same benefit is that they were at a different stage of puberty and skeletal development. The researchers cautioned the study wasn't designed to detect differences between the boys and girls, so the finding needs to be confirmed in larger trials.

While more research is needed, Palacios says these early results are promising. She sees potential in fortifying kid-friendly foods with soluble corn fiber to help children absorb more calcium they already consume.

High-fiber diets are already known to lower the risk of heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and certain types of cancer.

"My message is the same for everyone. For kids growing bone and for adults maintaining bone. This can be a small, easy addition to your diet," she said. "Whether it's through your diet or popular over-the-counter fiber supplements, just find a way to increase your intake of soluble fiber."

"Year after year, the Magellan Awards showcase the very best of travel industry creativity and innovation," said Johanna Jainchill, editor-in-chief of Travel Weekly. "Yet each year brings something new — fresh ideas, bold execution and work that challenges our expectations of what great travel marketing can be."

Operating a modern fleet of Airbus A350 aircraft, the airline connects travelers from major U.S. gateways, including Miami, Newark, Los Angeles and San Francisco, to iconic destinations, including Paris, Tahiti, and beyond.
