CIGRE 2026: Building power grids for a new age of electrification
Image File

The world is entering a new age of electricity, and the race is on to build the grids that will power it. The challenge is no longer to imagine the grid of the future. It is to build it quickly, at scale and through coordinated action across the entire electricity value chain.

This was the core message at the CIGRE 2026 Paris Session, where more than 15,000 experts from 100 countries gathered along with 330 exhibitors.

A €600bn–a–year grid imperative

PARIS, Sept. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Electrification of transport, industry and buildings, the integration of renewables and the surge in data–center demand are pushing power systems to their limits. To keep pace, the IEA estimates that annual electricity grid investment must increase by around 50%, from about USD 400 billion today to roughly USD 600 billion per year by 2030.

Yet delivery times remain a major bottleneck. In China, an extra–high–voltage line can be permitted and built in about 1.5 years; in India, around three years. In Europe and the United States, similar projects often take eight to ten years or more (Source IEA).

One Grid for the energy transition

The energy transition will succeed only if the grid of tomorrow is developed, operated, and governed as one integrated system.

This "One Grid" approach requires all stakeholders to work together from the earliest stages of infrastructure planning and delivery:

- Transmission and distribution system operators must coordinate network development and system operation.

- Utilities, manufacturers and technology providers must scale up equipment, innovation and industrial capacity.

- Regulators and public authorities must create stable frameworks that enable investment while ensuring affordability and public acceptance.

"No plan B, no planet B," said Konstantin O. Papailiou, President of CIGRE, calling for collective action to build the power systems of the future.

No electrification without skills

Infrastructure and capital are not enough. The sector also faces a widening skills gap, with strong competition for engineers, technicians and digital specialists. Attracting and training qualified people is now critical for delivering electrification on time.

Around eight million people are employed worldwide in constructing, maintaining and operating power grids, but the IEA estimates that the sector will need an additional 1.5 million workers by 2030.

CIGRE is addressing this through its technical working groups and the CIGRE Fund for Innovation and Education, which supports research, scholarships and training worldwide.

Powering the future together

Invited to the FIERE (Filière Industrielle des Entreprises des Réseaux Électriques) event, Mr. Martin, the French Minister of Industry, visited the CIGRE exhibition. The Minister highlighted the importance of cooperation in delivering the current electrification wave and recalled that the first CIGRE conference was held in Paris in 1921.

More than a century later, CIGRE continues to bring together the full electricity community to address shared societal, industrial and environmental challenges.

As the world enters the new age of electricity, one conclusion stands out: one grid, one industry, one challenge—and a shared responsibility to build the power system that will enable the energy transition.

Dale Carnegie White Paper Reveals Why Organizational Change Breaks Down in Execution

New research reveals how gaps in clarity, alignment, and leadership consistency can undermine transformation efforts

NEW YORK, Sept. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Dale Carnegie today released its new white paper, Leading Organizational Change: The Human System Behind Successful Execution, which examines why organizational transformation efforts can lose traction even when formal change processes and implementation plans are in place. The research reveals that what organizations often interpret as employee resistance may instead reflect weakening alignment as change moves from strategy into day-to-day execution.

Dale Carnegie's research reveals that perceptions of clarity and alignment continue to decline across organizational levels, creating greater potential for inconsistent interpretation and execution among those responsible for putting change into practice. The white paper identifies four interconnected conditions that can help organizations address those gaps: orientation, translation, reinforcement, and momentum.

"Organizations can have a strong change strategy and still struggle when that strategy reaches day-to-day execution," said Robert Coleman, PhD, director of research and thought leadership for Dale Carnegie and author of the white paper. "Leaders need to pay attention not only to whether employees support the change, but whether they see it as credible, understand how it impacts their roles, receive consistent reinforcement, and see evidence that their efforts are producing progress."

The white paper identifies four interconnected conditions that form the human system behind sustained change: orientation, translation, reinforcement, and momentum. Together, these conditions influence whether employees view change as credible, convert organizational direction into coordinated action, receive consistent support throughout implementation, and maintain confidence as the transformation progresses.

Key Insights

- Clarity declines as strategy moves closer to execution. Only 48.2% of individual contributors believe the broader organization is "on the same page," compared with 79.4% of leaders. As change moves from leaders to managers and individual contributors, inconsistent interpretations can increase the risk of fragmented execution.

- Leadership credibility affects how employees respond to change. Only 27% of employees strongly believe their immediate leader's actions consistently align with their messages, falling to 18.5% among individual contributors. When actions and messages diverge, employees may question whether change is credible enough to support.

- Communication must translate strategy into individual action. Only 17.3% of individual contributors strongly agree their goals have been well-defined, compared with 43.6% of leaders. Without role-level clarity, organizations can create awareness without achieving coordinated execution.

- Reinforcement helps stabilize change. What leaders prioritize, model, recognize, measure, and support signals whether new expectations truly matter. Inconsistent reinforcement can push employees back toward familiar routines and legacy workflows.

- Visible progress helps sustain momentum. Making milestones, operational wins, and successful adaptation visible helps employees connect their effort to progress and sustain commitment before final results arrive.

"Successful change requires more than launching an initiative and communicating the strategy," Coleman said. "Leaders need to continuously shape the conditions that allow people to understand the change, act on it consistently, and sustain their effort long enough for results to emerge. That means establishing credibility, translating strategy into role-level clarity, reinforcing and recalibrating expectations throughout implementation, making progress visible, and monitoring for signs that alignment is beginning to weaken."

The full white paper, Leading Organizational Change: The Human System Behind Successful Execution, is available now.

Euno Named as a Cool Vendor™ in the 2026 Gartner® Coolest Vendor Innovations in Data Management
Image File
Original HTML

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Sept. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Euno, the enterprise AI-native context platform, today announced it has been named a Cool Vendor™ in the 2026 Gartner Coolest Vendor Innovations in Data Management.

According to the report, in 2026, there is tremendous interest in deploying AI agents to automate data engineering tasks and operational and analytical workflows. Both vendors and end-user companies are investing heavily in agentic AI, envisioning a world where companies deploy thousands of agents to complete data management tasks, like building data pipelines, monitoring data quality, and documenting data lineage.

As enterprises race to put AI to work on their data, the challenge is moving from model capability to a lack of critical context. Agents can access the data, but they don't inherently understand what it means, what to trust, or how the business uses it. The context enterprises rely on today comes from a world designed around human workflows.

Euno replaces human-maintained context with a live, AI context brain that continuously understands how data flows, what it means, and how it is used across the organization. It learns how agents use that context as they reason and act across complex, multi-domain workflows. Euno maintains a live context graph across the enterprise data estate, hands each agent exactly the slice of context its task and decision require, and continuously feeds what it learns back into the organization's shared knowledge, creating a sustainable, compounding AI advantage.

"In our view, this recognition reflects a shift the whole industry is feeling. The conversation is moving from whether models are good enough to whether agents can make sense of the data environment they've been pointed at," said Sarah Levy, co-founder and CEO of Euno. "We built Euno for how agents actually operate, putting AI to work for our customers on their core data in weeks. Everyone can access the same frontier models, but the real advantage is the proprietary context and experience each enterprise builds through its own operation."

Founded in 2023 by Sarah Levy and Eyal Firstenberg, Euno works with Fortune 500 organizations and enterprises across all verticals. The company employs nearly 30 people across the US and Israel and expects to double by year-end.

Equinix Unveils Equinix Fabric One, Redefining How Enterprises Connect Across AI, Cloud and Networking Infrastructure
Image File
Original HTML

Equinix Fabric One will deliver any-to-any connectivity across enterprise, cloud and AI environments, with AWS and Google Cloud serving as lead integration partners

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Sept. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Equinix, Inc. (Nasdaq: EQIX), the world's digital infrastructure company®, today announced Equinix® Fabric One™, a managed, any-to-any connectivity service designed to simplify how enterprises connect distributed cloud, network and AI environments. The announcement was made at Equinix Horizon, the company's inaugural customer and partner event.

Built to address the networking complexity of the AI era, Equinix Fabric One will leverage open connectivity specifications developed by Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud to support interoperability across distributed cloud, AI and enterprise environments. Customers will simply specify what they need connected and their requirements, and Equinix Fabric One determines and delivers the connectivity required to make it happen. At Horizon, Equinix is also announcing Equinix® Inference Exchange to accelerate enterprise AI infrastructure deployments.

"For decades, enterprise networks have been built one connection at a time for each partner and provider they depend on. That approach doesn't scale in a world of distributed AI that demands dynamic, flexible and real-time connectivity," said Chris Audie, Chief Product Officer, Equinix. "Equinix Fabric One will reduce the complexity that's slowing enterprises down by automatically managing connectivity across distributed architectures, based on the customer's intent."

The Connectivity Modern Enterprises Need

As enterprises need to connect to more clouds, AI providers, partners and locations, every new connection can become a networking project requiring specialized expertise, cross-functional coordination and ongoing management. That complexity can slow deployment and makes it harder for infrastructure to keep pace with the needs of the business.

"Networking is still a key area of enterprise infrastructure that remains heavily dependent on manual design and operations," said Andrew Buss, Senior Research Director, Cloud and Datacenters, Enterprise Infrastructure at IDC. "Organizations are increasingly looking for ways to simplify and automate how connectivity is provisioned and managed across distributed cloud and AI environments, but achieving this transformation remains a major challenge. Advances that enable more integrated automation and intent-driven approaches can reduce operational complexity and risk while supporting the flexibility modern AI and multicloud architectures require."

Equinix Fabric One aims to modernize how enterprises consume connectivity. Instead of assembling and managing networking service component by component, customers simply specify what they need through a portal, APIs, automation workflows, agent-based requests or natural-language prompts. Equinix Fabric One will automatically orchestrate and manage the routing, cloud connectivity, encryption, resiliency and failover required to deliver that outcome as a single managed service.

Equinix Fabric One is built on the company's trusted, neutral exchange of more than 10,500 interconnected businesses, approximately 3,000 cloud and IT providers, and active deployments by eight of the top 10 AI model providers and nine of the top 10 neoclouds. Equinix's neutrality gives enterprises the freedom to connect across providers while keeping their architecture flexible as business and technology needs evolve.

Neutral by Design. Open by Default.

Built on open connectivity specifications, Equinix Fabric One leverages the open source OpenAPI 3.0 Interconnect specification, which AWS and Google Cloud collaborated on to preserve choice and interoperability across distributed AI, cloud and enterprise environments. As enterprises move toward agentic architectures, applications and AI agents can discover, request and provision connectivity programmatically, without manual intervention.

"Customers shouldn't have to figure out how to connect across multiple clouds and AI environments on their own," said Robert Kennedy, Vice President, AWS network services. "They should just define what they need and have it work. Fabric One builds on the open interconnect specification that AWS and Google Cloud helped define and deliver exactly that. A managed service that handles the complexity so customers can focus on their AI workloads, not how everything connects."

"Cross-cloud interoperability is the backbone of the AI era," said Rob Enns, Vice President of Engineering, Cloud Networking, Google Cloud. "We helped establish the open interconnect specification so enterprises no longer have to manage the complexity of multi-cloud networking. By combining Google Cloud's Cross-Cloud Network capabilities with Equinix Fabric One, we are giving customers an automated, intent-driven network that lets them quickly deploy distributed AI workloads."

Connectivity That Evolves with the Enterprise

The world's leading organizations are increasingly seeking connectivity models that allow teams to focus on what they need rather than the complexity of building and managing individual connections.

"As technology environments become more distributed, AI workloads and multicloud architectures require connectivity that is flexible, scalable and easier to manage," said Paul Hager, CEO, Hyundai AutoEver America. "Equinix Fabric One has the potential to accelerate our efforts to meet those needs."

Equinix Fabric One is expected to enter beta later this year, with general availability planned for 2027, initially in North America.

Equinix Inference Exchange combines NVIDIA Enterprise Reference Architectures, Together AI's inference platform and Equinix's global infrastructure to optimize deployment speed, flexibility and cost efficiency

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Sept. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Equinix, Inc. (Nasdaq: EQIX), the world's digital infrastructure company®, today announced a significant expansion of its longtime collaboration with NVIDIA to deliver Equinix® Inference Exchange, a distributed AI inference program for global enterprises, alongside a new collaboration with Together AI.

As AI scales across models, providers and geographies, where inference runs is a strategic imperative that determines performance, cost and governance. Equinix Inference Exchange will give enterprises a faster path from AI experimentation to production, with secure, low-latency connectivity to the data, users and ecosystem they depend on.

This collaboration brings together NVIDIA's validated Enterprise Reference Architectures with Together AI's inference platform, supporting more than 200 open-source models. Delivered through Equinix's global data centers, it will provide connectivity to clouds, networks and AI providers through Equinix Fabric®.

The solution will be announced today at Equinix Horizon, the company's inaugural customer and partner event, alongside Equinix® Fabric One™, which will make it easier for enterprises to connect across globally distributed AI environments.

"AI is transforming enterprise technology at extraordinary speed, and the infrastructure decisions enterprises make today will define their competitive position for years to come. Equinix is uniquely positioned to deliver what this moment demands based on our nearly three decades building the trusted exchange where the world's enterprises run, connect and orchestrate their most critical workloads," said Adaire Fox-Martin, Chief Executive Officer and President, Equinix. "Our longtime relationship with NVIDIA delivers the accelerated computing foundation at the heart of modern AI, while Together AI's commitment to open ecosystems gives enterprises the flexibility to scale on their terms. Equinix Inference Exchange will enable architectures that are neutral by design, open by default and engineered for exceptional performance."

"Equinix Inference Exchange turns the world's leading digital interconnection platform into a global fabric for AI inference," said Raj Mirpuri, vice president of global AI clouds and infrastructure ecosystem at NVIDIA. "As accelerated compute becomes a strategic asset class, combining NVIDIA's infrastructure & technology with Together AI's open-model inference platform and Equinix's global reach gives enterprises a powerful, distributed foundation to bring intelligence closer to their data, applications and customers—accelerating the next generation of intelligent services."

"Together AI was built on the conviction that open, accessible AI is what will define the industry moving forward, because enterprises shouldn't have to choose between model performance and operational flexibility," said Vipul Ved Prakash, co-founder and CEO, Together AI. "What we are building with Equinix and NVIDIA proves that model choice and performance are not trade-offs. They are the foundation of enterprise AI done right."

Where Inference Runs Matters

The pace of enterprise AI adoption is outrunning the infrastructure needed to support it. As enterprise AI moves from experimentation to production, inference increasingly needs to run closer to the users, data and applications it serves across clouds, models, providers and geographies. This shift requires enterprises to determine not only how to deploy AI infrastructure, but where it should run and how it connects to the data, applications and workloads it depends on.

Managing these distributed inference deployments introduces significant operational complexity at precisely the moment enterprises need greater control and visibility.

"Performance, cost and governance have become strategic considerations as AI workloads grow more distributed across providers, data sources and environments," said Nick Patience, Vice President & Practice Lead, AI Platforms, The Futurum Group. "Organizations are increasingly focused on where inference runs and how quickly it can be deployed into production. Solutions that simplify inference deployment while preserving flexibility will become increasingly important to achieve business outcomes."

Equinix brings unmatched scale and ecosystem density to this challenge, with more than 280 data centers across 77 metros, 230 cloud on-ramps and over 10,500 businesses interconnected on its neutral exchange. Eight of the top 10 AI model providers and nine of the top 10 AI clouds are deployed with Equinix, underscoring the company's position at the center of the AI ecosystem.

Built for Choice and Flexibility

Together AI is the latest addition to Equinix's expansive AI ecosystem, bringing open-model flexibility and choice to enterprises deploying AI at scale. The solution combines three complementary layers designed to simplify distributed AI inference:

- Equinix provides the infrastructure foundation, including power, advanced cooling and day-two operations, connected through Equinix Fabric to the clouds, networks and AI providers that inference depends on.

- NVIDIA anchors the build with its Enterprise Reference Architectures and AI infrastructure purpose-built to maximize AI factory throughput and minimize token cost.

- Together AI runs the platform on top, supporting both multitenant deployments for shared efficiency and dedicated single-tenant environments for workloads that require dedicated capacity.

Built on Equinix Fabric, the solution will connect to inference providers across major metros worldwide, cutting time-to-first-token. It also will connect to an expansive ecosystem of clouds, networks and AI providers, reducing deployment complexity.

Designed for Modern Enterprise Inference

The solution aims to support a broad range of enterprise inference scenarios, including:

- Metro edge inference: For organizations that need inference running closer to users and data, enabling lower-latency AI experiences while leveraging the security, operational scale and global reach of Equinix.

- Open model migration: For enterprises moving workloads from closed, proprietary models to open-source alternatives to control cost and avoid lock-in, the solution will provide a direct, low-friction path to run that migration in production, with Together AI's open-model platform reachable over the same interconnected fabric enterprises already use to reach their other providers.

- Sovereign AI: For enterprises operating in regulated industries or specific geographies, the solution will enable AI workloads to run in locations that support data residency and sovereignty requirements, providing a simpler path to deploying AI at scale while maintaining control over where data and inference are processed.

Equinix Inference Exchange will be available starting in Q1 2027.

Fractional Program to initially operate two aircraft types: the HondaJet HA-420 in the light jet category and the Bombardier Challenger 3500 in the super-midsize category. The program is designed to draw on Thrive's existing operating platform and fleet of more than 30 aircraft, providing additional flexibility as owners' travel needs evolve.

Arulean Air is a subsidiary of Honda Aircraft Company, the manufacturer of HondaJet aircraft.

LAS VEGAS, Sept. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Thrive Aviation today announced a strategic partnership and minority investment by Arulean Air, a Honda Aircraft Company subsidiary. This investment in Thrive Aviation establishes the foundation for a new fractional ownership platform designed to scale significantly over the coming decade, expanding private aviation options for passengers.

Thrive Aviation will bring its exceptional operational safety standards, unwavering sophistication and industry-leading, client-focused approach to this new fractional program. Thrive will operate and manage the program, from client relationship management to flight operations. Arulean Air will acquire aircraft for the fractional program, providing a foundation for the program to scale as the fractional owner base grows.

The program will initially operate two aircraft types: the HondaJet HA-420 in the light jet category and the Bombardier Challenger 3500 in the super-midsize category. The HA-420 brings efficiency, technology and performance to regional missions, while the Challenger 3500 provides the cabin and range required for longer trips with more people aboard. Owners are matched to the right aircraft for each mission. The program is also designed to draw on Thrive's existing operating platform and fleet of more than 30 aircraft, providing additional flexibility as owners' travel needs evolve. Thrive intends to expand the fractional fleet as the program grows.

For Thrive, the decision to enter fractional ownership was a deliberate extension of the private aviation platform the company has spent the past eight years building.

"Adding fractional ownership opportunities enables Thrive Aviation to serve a broad spectrum of clients throughout their entire private aviation journey – from private charters to fractional ownership to full ownership" said Curtis Edenfield, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Thrive Aviation. "We're building another major piece of the Thrive platform and something we expect to scale for a long time. The goal is simple: as our clients' aviation needs evolve, we want to evolve with them."

Building for Long-Term Growth

Thrive has received the first two aircraft and anticipates adding approximately four to six HondaJet HA-420s and two to four Challenger 3500s annually as the fractional owner base and fleet continue to grow. That growth rests on the foundation announced today: a long-term strategic partnership with, and minority investment by, Arulean Air, a subsidiary of Honda Aircraft Company. Arulean Air's acquisition of aircraft for the program, combined with Thrive's existing operating platform and fleet of more than 30 aircraft, is designed to support the program as it scales.

"This long-term, first-of-its-kind partnership with Arulean Air gives Thrive Aviation the foundation to build this program at scale," Edenfield said. "We're building for the long term, and having a partner like Arulean Air with a shared vision gives us the ability to grow the program for years to come."

The introduction of fractional ownership expands Thrive Aviation's existing suite of private aviation services, which includes on-demand charter, aircraft management, jet card memberships and aircraft maintenance. With fractional ownership added to the platform, Thrive will be positioned to serve clients across virtually every stage of private aircraft utilization and ownership.

Full program details will be introduced at NBAA-BACE 2026, October 20–22, in Las Vegas. Prospective owners can register for an advance preview at www.fractional.flythrive.com. Registration is for informational preview purposes only and does not constitute an offer to sell, or a solicitation of an offer to buy, any ownership interest.

Metabo HPT Introduces Cordless Pneumatic Nailers, a New Category Delivering Pneumatic Speed Without the Hose
Image File
Original HTML

- New professional fastening category pairs pneumatic speed, consistency and confidence with cordless freedom for demanding framing applications

- Developed for North American Pros as part of KOKI Group's broader global launch, the platform helps crews save significant setup and teardown time, move more freely and stay productive without sacrificing the pneumatic performance they trust

BRASELTON, Ga., Sept. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Metabo HPT, a KOKI Group company, today introduced Cordless Pneumatics, a first-of-its-kind nailer category for North America, designed to deliver pneumatic speed in a cordless platform. Built for professional crews, Metabo HPT Cordless Pneumatic Nailers combine the speed, power and drive consistency Pros expect from pneumatic fastening and eliminates the hoses and compressors that have traditionally limited productivity on the jobsite.

Today's contractors face tighter schedules, persistent labor shortages and the need to do more with fewer resources. As setup time, mobility, and consistency become increasingly important measures of jobsite performance, crews need tools that improve workflow without introducing new compromises.

"Pros have been telling us for years what they want: pneumatic performance without the hose and compressor," said Joe Leffler, president of Metabo HPT North America. "Cordless Pneumatics is a category designed to give Pros a true pneumatic alternative, one that helps them move faster and work more freely without sacrificing the performance they've relied on for decades."

Cordless Pneumatic Nailers feature Air Spring Drive System Plus™, which stores and releases compressed air within the tool itself to deliver consistent driving force along with the speed and response associated with pneumatic fastening, in a fully cordless platform with no external compressor or hose.

The performance advantage is especially clear in high-volume framing applications such as sub-floor and wall sheathing, where crews need a nailer that can keep pace with pneumatic tools. Cordless Pneumatic models deliver firing speeds of up to six nails per second, helping crews move quickly through repetitive fastening work.

By reducing setup and breakdown time, crews can recover meaningful time across the workday. Even conservative estimates suggest crews may spend as much as 45 minutes per day on compressor setup, hose management and teardown, roughly 150 hours per year for every framer on the job – almost four weeks of work. Removing that equipment burden puts more of the day into productive work and less into jobsite logistics.

Cordless Pneumatic Nailers deliver up to 1,170 nails per charge on 18V Metabo HPT MultiVolt 10.0Ah T-PWR Tabless batteries, giving crews the runtime to work through demanding fastening applications without stopping to swap packs. Select nailer models also accept interchangeable magazines.

Cordless Pneumatics also feature easy on-site serviceability so Pros can complete routine maintenance in as little as 10 minutes instead of waiting on service center turnaround.

"Making cordless nailers match pneumatic performance required solving two engineering problems at once: matching pneumatic driving power and matching pneumatic firing speed," said Bernd Fleischmann, Chief Technology Officer for KOKI Group. "Air Spring Drive System Plus combines the proven air spring architecture that has powered our cordless nailers from the start with a new Enhanced Lift Mechanism that doubles shot frequency over the previous generation. That is what makes true cordless pneumatic performance possible."

Metabo HPT brings decades of pneumatic nailing expertise, power tool innovation and professional user insight to the Cordless Pneumatics category. The company has built its reputation by designing nailers and jobsite tools around the way Pros work, from its pneumatic fastening legacy to its cordless technology development. Metabo HPT has been recognized as the Pro Preferred Brand for pneumatic nailers for 12 consecutive years. That heritage and jobsite understanding helped make cordless pneumatic performance possible.
