Berlin – September 09, 2026 -- Midea used IFA 2026 to unveil a wave of AI-driven home appliances and confirm a five-year partnership with FC Barcelona, part of what the company calls its "Simply Ideal" vision.
Midea's new AI ecosystem controls appliances through natural interaction
The SMART MASTER lineup introduces an AI Agent designed for more intuitive control of household tasks, while Midea Robot extends AI into physical chores like cooking, cleaning and laundry. AI ECOMASTER manages energy use across connected appliances by learning household routines and adapting to changing needs.
SPACE MASTER refrigerators add storage without changing exterior size
Midea says the SPACE MASTER line increases usable capacity within the same external dimensions, demonstrated through expanded refrigerator storage space. The BUILT-IN series also debuts Ispira, a Milan-inspired collection combining design with integrated cooking functionality.
R290 refrigerant technology promises 10% higher energy efficiency
Midea's R290 series pairs advanced compressor and safety-sealing technology with the ultra-low-GWP R290 refrigerant, delivering what the company states is 10% greater energy efficiency. The technology already applies to residential products including H-Pack and PortaSplit, with PortaSplit set to adopt R290 in 2027.
Kitchen and laundry lines target daily routines
The Visionary refrigerator series uses GlassVision and hands-free lighting for easier food access, while InfiniteFit cooktops feature an ultra-thin design for European kitchen integration. The PizzaPro built-in oven combines rapid heating with an 81-liter cavity. Midea's Tri-GreenApex system integrates washing, drying and storage while using roughly 50% less energy than required for Europe's top A energy rating. The new OMNI SERIES offers multi-drum laundry configurations that allow different loads to be washed simultaneously.
Connectivity Standards Alliance highlights Matter integration
Tobin Richardson, president and CEO of the Connectivity Standards Alliance, appeared at Midea's booth to present Matter, the open smart-home connectivity framework, citing Midea's role in advancing interoperable smart appliances.
FC Barcelona legend Carles Puyol joins Midea's IFA showcase
Midea marked its five-year FC Barcelona partnership with an immersive exhibit at its stand. Former FC Barcelona defender Carles Puyol made a special appearance, discussing leadership and teamwork from his playing career. Midea Group brand TEKA also presented new products, including a coffee machine range, the In-Line series, and laundry-care solutions.
