Bad Wimpfen -- September 01, 2026 -- Lidl is returning as official partner of the GLÜCKSGEFÜHLE Festival at the Hockenheimring from September 3 to 6, offering festivalgoers free charging stations, ice cream, and wagon rentals to haul supplies to their tents. Around 250,000 visitors are expected across three stages featuring David Guetta, Mark Forster, Scooter, Ski Aggu, Felix Jaehn, and the No Angels. The retailer is expanding its on-site presence for the second year running, adding an aftershow party series and a bigger footprint inside the festival grounds.
Lidl Expands Its Infield Zone With a View of the Main Stage
The centerpiece is the "Lidl FestiWelt," a 350-square-meter area near the infield entrance that overlooks the Euphoria Stage. That's roughly 100 square meters larger than last year's setup. At a Load Up Lounge, visitors who show the Lidl Plus app can grab electrolyte drinks, smoothie shots, and Alesto nuts while charging their phones. A Glam Station offers temporary tattoos and festival makeup, and a Photo Station lets attendees capture the weekend. An interactive reaction wall built around Lidl products rounds out the setup.
On Friday and Saturday nights, the FestiWelt space converts into an aftershow party for up to 250 guests each night. Friday's event includes a special act tied to the opening of Lidl's 13,000th German store, which launches in Raunheim on September 3. For those craving movement between sets, Lidl set up "Poldis Sports Club," a digital padel simulator on site.
Campsites Get Wheel-of-Fortune Snacks and Charging on Wheels
Beyond the infield, Lidl Bikes circulate through nearby campsites stocked with items from its assortment. Campers who spin a wheel of fortune can win instant prizes like Crownfield fruit bars, Bioland apple chips, or bananas.
A Nearby Store Stays Open Late for Last-Minute Runs
Festivalgoers restocking supplies can head to the Lidl store at Lußheimer Straße 6 in Hockenheim, open daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. from Thursday through Saturday. On Friday and Saturday, a food truck in the store's parking lot hands out free servings of three scoops of ice cream tucked into a Lidl Backshop croissant with toppings. Shoppers who bring their receipt to a Merch Station next to the ice cream truck receive a piece from the limited "Lohnt sich" collection, which includes jackets, shirts, socks, sneakers, and pants.
To help carry purchases back to the tents, Lidl placed wagons available for loan at the store and at a second rental station on Campsite C9.
"So wie das GLÜCKSGEFÜHLE Festival mit seinem vielfältigen Musikangebot unterschiedlichste musikalische Vorlieben verbindet, steht Lidl als zuverlässiger Nahversorger, der täglich Millionen Menschen erreicht, für ein vielfältiges Sortiment und hohe Qualität," said Alexander Lafery, head of marketing at Lidl Dienstleistung GmbH & Co. KG, describing the partnership as a way to make festival visits smoother for hundreds of thousands of fans.
