Contracts include funding for $91 for the Compact Air-to-Air Missile solid rocket motor and $46M for the Naval Modular Missile Quad-Pack Medium-Range motor.

BERTHOUD, Colo., Oct. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The U.S. Navy has awarded Ursa Major two separate contracts, totaling $137 million, funded through the Office of the Under Secretary of War (OUSW), to develop and qualify advanced tactical solid rocket motors for the Compact Air-to-Air Missile (CAAM) program and the Naval Modular Missile (NMM) program. The awards leverage Ursa Major's Lynx manufacturing approach, expanding energetics production capacity and applying advanced additive manufacturing techniques to deliver tactical motors that can be produced at scale.

"By investing in CAAM and NMM, the Navy and OUSW are building solid rocket motor capacity now and getting new tactical air and naval capabilities into development sooner," said Jason Meredith, president, Solid Missile Systems at Ursa Major. "Our Lynx manufacturing approach and growing energetics capacity enable us to design, build, test, qualify and field these motors faster to support the warfighter. Production is the bottleneck in missile programs right now, and that's the part we've been building for."

For CAAM, an air-launched missile for current and next-generation aircraft, Ursa Major is designing a high-performance compact, low-cost 7-inch solid rocket motor designed to achieve performance requirements inside a tight volume and at low unit cost using Highly Loaded Grain. The design is being developed with the same manufacturing methods planned for full production, so it can be built at scale once qualified.

Ursa Major will also support the NMM medium-range variant by providing a 10-inch solid rocket motor designed for high-rate production and compatibility with existing Navy shipboard launch systems. The effort is aimed at delivering an operational motor that meets Navy performance and safety requirements while supporting high annual production volumes.

The awards build on Ursa Major's existing solid rocket motor work with the Navy. In July, the Navy awarded the company $10 million to advance its MK 104 design through critical design review and static fire testing to support the Standard Missile family. In February, Ursa Major completed a $25 million cost-share Solid Rocket Motor Manufacturing Pathfinder Program with the Navy and the Office of Strategic Capital, designing, building and static-firing a 10-inch Highly Loaded Grain motor and developing a proprietary propellant for it. That work was conducted with the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division at China Lake and the Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division.

Alavi has helped define how the world shares, moves, and listens. Now she joins Function to change how people own their health.

AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Function announced that Taj Alavi has joined as its first Chief Marketing Officer. Alavi will lead Function's marketing organization as the company brings a new model of health to millions more people, one where everyone can understand their biology, see how it changes over time, and take action on-time.

Alavi has built her career helping people adopt new technology as it reshaped major consumer categories. At Instagram, she led global brand marketing and launched Stories as the platform grew from 300 million to 1 billion users. She went on to lead global brand and creative at Uber. At Spotify, she served as Global Head of Marketing, leading growth, product, and marketing for a $13 billion business spanning music, podcasts, and audiobooks. At each company, she helped take something new and make it essential, building brands that hundreds of millions of people rely on and love. Most recently, she brought that experience to health, consulting at Neko Health.

"Health is a larger consumer category than music, rides, and social media combined. It has the greatest potential impact on our lives, but it's stuck in an old story that says you don't have agency," said Jonathan Swerdlin, CEO and Co-Founder of Function. "That's not true. Function is a new, direct relationship between you and your body. You have the data. You can take action. Our members are balancing hormones, preventing heart attacks, and detecting cancers early. People need to know health is finally as affordable as Spotify, as convenient as Uber, and as available as Instagram. It's Taj's turn to tell the world the new truth about health."

"I've been lucky to work on products that changed how people live every day," said Alavi. "Function is doing that for the thing that matters most. When people see what their biology is telling them for the first time, it changes how they live. My ambition is to make that level of understanding and instant action part of everyday life for millions more people."

Alavi's appointment caps a year of significant momentum for Function. Earlier this year, the company acquired Getlabs and SuppCo, partnered with NYU Grossman School of Medicine on landmark research aimed at asymptomatic disease detection, and secured $450 million in growth financing from General Catalyst's Customer Value Fund – all advancing its mission to make 100 healthy years possible for 8 billion people.

About Function

Function is on a mission to enable everyone to live 100 healthy years. A groundbreaker in its category, Function has changed the game by making lab testing, MRI and CT, and longitudinal health data accessible, understandable, and actionable – serving millions. Function's Medical Intelligence Lab™ (MI Lab™) is leveraging a dedicated clinical team to develop a continuous learning system that helps its members see, understand, and act on their biology over time. Members receive access to 160+ lab tests – including biannual testing – for just $365/year, equivalent to $1 per day, covering the heart, hormones, thyroid, liver, kidneys, heavy metal exposures, nutrient levels, inflammation, potential cancer signals, and more. Each member's results are integrated into an intelligent, personalized interface designed to support powerfully informed actions. Function members can also access (for an additional cost) MRI and CT that are designed to see signs of cancer, prior strokes, abdominal aneurysms, endometriosis, and hundreds of other conditions. Function believes it's time everyone owns their health.

Nolla Health Announces Nation's First AI to Issue Initial Prescriptions

Nolla Derm helps the 90% of Utah residents who never reach a dermatologist receive AI-issued initial acne treatment within minutes, starting at $4.99 a month

SALT LAKE CITY, Oct. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Nolla Health, the company pioneering AI-powered personal healthcare, today announced that it has become the first organization in the country to receive regulatory approval for AI to issue initial prescriptions. Starting in Utah through its Nolla Derm app, Nolla's system will prescribe acne prescriptions to help patients better access dermatology care without a waitlist, office visit, or unaffordable bill. The system is available today, and Utah residents 18 years and older can sign up here.

"AI will matter most in healthcare when it helps people get care they otherwise would not receive," said Luis Wenus, co-founder and CEO of Nolla Health. "Growing up with a doctor in the family, I saw how powerful it was to have trusted medical help within reach, and millions of people do not have that today. With Nolla Derm, we are showing how AI can responsibly expand that access and help someone get personalized treatment in minutes instead of long waits or going without care altogether. That's the future Nolla is building towards: AI helping high-quality healthcare reach far more people."

Over 80 percent of U.S. counties are considered healthcare deserts, impacting more than 120 million people, or about one in three Americans. In Utah, an estimated 100,000 people live with active acne at any given time, yet only 10 percent ever see a dermatologist. The average wait time in Utah is 61 days, nearly double the national median, with 11 counties having no dermatologists at all. People who land an appointment can pay up to $300 per visit. For patients with untreated acne, the condition can progress to permanent scarring while they wait, driving treatment costs even further.

Nolla Derm and the Utah pilot program were built to close this access gap. Following months of collaboration with the Utah Office of Artificial Intelligence, Nolla Health secured regulatory approval for the nation's first AI system authorized to issue initial prescriptions under physician oversight. Nolla Health also met and worked directly with the Utah Medical Board ahead of launch to ensure the Board's feedback was reflected in the final program.

Unlike telehealth platforms that use AI only to collect information before handing patients off to clinicians, Nolla's AI system is designed to independently issue initial prescriptions within tightly defined, physician-approved treatment protocols. The pilot and Nolla's AI system represent a new model for delivering routine healthcare safely, quickly, and affordably at scale, particularly for patients who may otherwise never reach a physician or specialist.

How It Works

Eligible Utah residents can download the Nolla Derm app and opt into the program for a discounted rate of $4.99 a month, a fraction of the cost of traditional healthcare. After completing an informed consent process, a 10- to 15-minute intake questionnaire, and a face scan, patients receive a personalized treatment plan and prescription directly through the app in minutes. If the AI cannot confidently select a treatment, the patient is directed to a licensed physician rather than receiving an uncertain recommendation.

Physician oversight is built into every stage of the program:

- Stage one (first 100 patients): A licensed physician reviews and approves every AI-generated prescription before it is sent to the patient.

- Stage two (first 500 patients): Prescriptions are issued by the AI autonomously, with a physician conducting a daily retroactive review.

- Stage three: A physician retroactively reviews a sampling of prescriptions once per week.

Patients receive their prescription via home delivery or pharmacy pickup. Daily skin scans track progress over time, and treatment plans are updated monthly based on each patient's response to care. Patients can message a licensed physician directly through the app at any time – they are never speaking with AI when they reach out for support.

"The Nolla Health pilot program represents a significant step forward in leveraging AI to improve healthcare access for Utahns, while maintaining rigorous oversight and safety," said Office of Artificial Intelligence Policy Director Zach Boyd. "Our Office facilitates innovative AI solutions while ensuring that public health and patient safety remain paramount."

The pilot is designed to complement, not replace, physicians. By handling routine, low-acuity cases, Nolla Derm frees dermatologists to focus on complex, high-risk patients – including those at risk for skin cancer – and closes the access gap without burning out the doctors already stretched thin.

Built on Safety and Clinical Evidence

Developed with the Utah Office of Artificial Intelligence, the pilot underwent multiple rounds of external review by practicing physicians, dermatologists, key stakeholders, and members of the Utah government before launch. Nolla Derm's AI has already demonstrated strong clinical performance. Licensed clinicians agree with its treatment recommendations in over 96% of real-world cases, with the remaining cases reflecting minor adjustments such as topical strength modifications, not fundamental disagreements with the prescribed treatment.

Acne is the right starting point for AI in healthcare. It is a well-understood, low-risk condition with decades of clinical evidence behind it, where AI can deliver real value responsibly. Nolla Derm's system cannot generate open-ended prescriptions or improvise treatments. It can only select between pre-approved treatment pathways using structured clinical data and objective facial scan analysis.

"People are right to worry about AI in medicine that nobody can control. This program was built to be the opposite," said Dr. Zaid Fadul, Chief Medical Advisor for Nolla Health and part of the physician team overseeing the Utah pilot. "The AI can't improvise. It can only choose from a short list of physician-approved topical treatments. The moment a patient falls outside those limits, it stops and hands them to a doctor. The real test for AI in healthcare isn't how smart it is. It's whether someone other than the company can shut it off. In Utah, the state can, and physicians can - that's the standard every AI in medicine should meet."

The Nolla Derm app has been downloaded by more than 175,000 people across 44 states. To learn more, you can download the app in the App Store or visit: https://www.nollahealth.com/skincare.

Glacis announces Utah agreement to require verifiable AI receipts for designated sandbox systems

MOU sets mandatory evidence requirement to support independent evaluation and audit as Utah expands its clinical AI program

SALT LAKE CITY, Oct. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Glacis Technologies Inc. today announced an agreement with Utah's Office of Artificial Intelligence Policy (OAIP) to make independently verifiable AI receipts a condition of initial and continued participation for designated vendors and systems in the state's Artificial Intelligence Learning Laboratory.

The memorandum of understanding makes generation and delivery of a cryptographically signed receipt mandatory for every covered AI inference or associated safety or governance control evaluation. Under the agreement, those receipts are generated using Glacis technology and mapped to a technical implementation based on OVERT, an open standard for verifiable evidence of AI operations.

"Clinicians and patients need to be able to verify that AI safeguards are actually running," said Joe Braidwood, founder and CEO of Glacis. "Utah's agreement puts a concrete evidence requirement behind it: a receipt for every AI decision."

OAIP determines the vendors, systems and events covered and implements the requirement through their applicable agreements or written designations. In practice, this calls for instrumenting covered workflows to generate and deliver the required records. The announcement accompanies Utah's expansion of its clinical AI program, bringing together health care organizations, clinical advisers and independent verification organizations designed to rigorously assess and verify each sandbox pilot.

The practical purpose is to give reviewers evidence from AI systems in operation. For example, a workflow may require an AI assistant to defer certain requests to a clinician. A receipt can record the configured control's reported decision for a covered event, giving an evaluator a signed record to examine alongside the clinical workflow and its results.

Coalition for Health AI (CHAI), a designated co-steward of OVERT alongside the AIGovOps Foundation, will also participate in Utah's sandbox initiative under a separate agreement.

"CHAI is thrilled to participate alongside our partner Glacis in today's news from Utah's Office of Artificial Intelligence Policy," said Brenton Hill, head of operations and general counsel at CHAI. "As a nonprofit organization founded by clinicians to advance responsible health AI, we're excited to serve as a convener of independent evaluators for the state's sandbox efforts."

Verification allows a reviewer to check the record's integrity and its association with a signing key. Determining whether the referral reached a clinician, whether the control was effective and whether the care was appropriate requires further evaluation. The receipts provide evidence for clinical oversight, evaluation and audit; they do not themselves certify safety, effectiveness or legal compliance.

The agreement also allows evidence to be linked to covered events without requiring disclosure to Glacis or OAIP of model weights, raw prompts, raw outputs or underlying personal data, unless separately agreed in writing. Hashes or other non-content identifiers may be used to make that connection.

The agreement specifies OVERT, the open technical standard developed by Glacis Technologies for verifiable evidence of AI operations. A separate framework announced in September provides for future joint stewardship of OVERT by CHAI and the AIGovOps Foundation, with Glacis as a nonvoting technical editor. OVERT remains a voluntary standard; the participation obligation described here comes from the Utah agreement and its implementing instruments.

About Glacis

Glacis builds infrastructure that helps organizations apply their rules as AI systems operate and preserves signed evidence of covered control decisions. Its technology supports independent review of those records by authorized evaluators and auditors. Learn more at glacis.io.

About OVERT

OVERT stands for Observable Verification Evidence for Runtime Trust. It is an open technical standard available under a royalty-free patent covenant. The specification and governance materials are available at overt.is.

HavenLock Appoints Jason Lutz Senior Vice President of Sales and Channel

A 30-year security-industry veteran joins Haven's leadership team as the company builds momentum toward Gen4's national rollout.

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Oct. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- HavenLock, Inc. today announced the appointment of Jason Lutz as Senior Vice President of Sales and Channel, the latest addition to a leadership team the company is building out as it scales toward the national rollout of its Haven Gen4 platform. Lutz brings more than three decades of security-industry leadership to the role, and will direct Haven's sales strategy, channel development, and partner engagement as the company builds out its national dealer network.

The appointment comes as Haven scales from launch into national distribution, a phase that depends on the strength of its dealer and integrator relationships as much as its product. Lutz will work directly with distributors, dealers, and systems integrators to build the channel programs and partner support Haven needs to grow, reporting to CCO, John Heller.

Lutz's arrival is the latest in a series of moves Haven has made this year to strengthen its leadership bench and channel infrastructure ahead of Gen4's national rollout — part of a broader build-out the company plans to detail further in the weeks ahead. For Haven, the hire is as much a signal of where the company is headed as it is a personnel announcement.

Lutz began his security-industry career in 1992 in sales with a national security company in Houston, Texas, before relocating to Nashville, where he spent a decade owning and operating his own security company — experience that gave him firsthand insight into the needs of installers, dealers, and end users. In 2002, he joined Resideo (formerly Ademco/Honeywell) as District Manager for the Midwest region, and over a 24-year tenure held leadership roles in National Accounts and Industry Affairs, most recently serving as Director of the company's Brand Ambassador Program, where he helped develop the next generation of security sales professionals. He has advocated for the industry on Capitol Hill and served on the Electronic Security Association Board of Directors, the Security Industry Alarm Coalition Board of Directors, the Alarm Industry Communications Committee, and the Security Industry Association Executive Advisory Board, and currently chairs Mission 500, the industry's nonprofit supporting children and communities in need.

Dealers and integrators interested in Haven's channel and certification programs can learn more at havenlock.com.

According to the HelloNation article, Buckeye Lake real estate includes everything from historic cottages and updated single-family homes to newly constructed residences and desirable lakefront homes. The variety of available properties allows buyers to match their budget, lifestyle, and future plans while taking advantage of the area's scenic setting and recreational opportunities.

The article notes that living near Buckeye Lake offers daily access to boating, fishing, kayaking, walking trails, waterfront dining, and community events, creating a welcoming atmosphere year-round. Seasonal festivals and increased lake activity during warmer months contribute to the area's unique character while helping make Buckeye Lake a destination for both full-time residents and seasonal homeowners.

The HelloNation article emphasizes that choosing the right neighborhood can be just as important as selecting the property itself. Each area surrounding the lake offers its own balance of recreation, privacy, convenience, and community involvement. Buyers who take the time to explore these differences are often better prepared to select a home that aligns with both their current lifestyle and future expectations.

Real Estate Broker Bobbi Lepi provides insights featured in the article about the practical aspects of purchasing waterfront property. The article explains that lakefront homes may require additional maintenance, including shoreline upkeep, dock care, or flood insurance depending on location. Even homes located away from the shoreline may experience seasonal traffic or benefit from nearby public access to the lake. Understanding these considerations before purchasing helps buyers make informed decisions and avoid unexpected responsibilities after closing.

The article also reviews the Buckeye Lake housing market, noting that the area's combination of recreation, natural beauty, and accessibility continues to attract buyers seeking both primary residences and vacation homes. While no real estate investment is guaranteed, the article explains that desirable recreational communities often experience steady buyer interest over time. Evaluating location, property condition, and neighborhood characteristics can help support long-term ownership goals.

The HelloNation article encourages prospective buyers to think beyond the features of an individual home and consider how the surrounding community fits their lifestyle. Those who value outdoor recreation, local events, and scenic surroundings may find Buckeye Lake especially appealing, while buyers seeking quieter neighborhoods can also find options that offer privacy yet remain close to the lake's amenities.

Ultimately, the article concludes that purchasing a home near Buckeye Lake is an investment in both property and lifestyle. By exploring neighborhoods, understanding seasonal changes, and carefully evaluating available Buckeye Lake homes, buyers can make confident decisions that support everyday living and long-term value.

AIRS Medical Receives FDA 510(k) Clearance for SwiftSight® Body Composition

AI-powered quantitative MRI solution enables imaging organizations to standardize body composition analysis, expand existing MRI services and create new revenue opportunities

CHICAGO, Oct. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- AIRS Medical today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted 510(k) clearance for SwiftSight® Body Composition, expanding the company's quantitative MRI platform into body composition analysis. SimonMed Imaging will be the first customer to deploy the newly cleared solution.

SwiftSight Body Composition uses AI-powered MRI analysis to quantify muscle and adipose tissue from MR images, including visceral and subcutaneous fat, abdominal and thigh muscle, muscle quality and bilateral muscle balance, along with quantitative assessment of liver fat.

SwiftSight Body Composition is designed around a scan of less than five minutes, followed by automated AI analysis. AI-driven segmentation quantifies body composition measurements, which are benchmarked against age- and sex-matched reference populations. The resulting Body Composition Report brings together quantitative measurements, percentile rankings and visual summaries in one standardized view.

"Body composition becomes more meaningful when people can track change over time, and that requires an exam that is fast and practical to repeat," said Jina Park, Chief Strategy Officer at AIRS Medical. "That is why we built SwiftSight Body Composition around a scan of less than five minutes. Whether the goal is preventive health, weight management or longevity, we want people who are taking a more active role in their health to have a quantitative measurement they can return to over time."

A 5-Minute Workflow. Built for High Volume Imaging Centers

With an MRI scan of less than five minutes and an automated scan-to-report workflow, SwiftSight Body Composition is designed to fit into high-volume MRI operations while giving health systems and imaging networks a practical way to scale quantitative body composition across their existing MRI infrastructure. Organizations can add the service without introducing a separate imaging modality or building a new manual analysis workflow.

Automated AI analysis reduces the need for manual measurement, helping imaging organizations deploy the same quantitative body composition capability across multiple locations without adding unnecessary operational complexity. This supports a more consistent patient experience across the network, with the same approach to quantitative analysis and reporting regardless of where a patient is scanned, while also supporting continuity across locations and over time.

"The next phase of MRI is not just better images, but standardized quantitative information that can scale across an imaging organization," said Ajit Shankaranarayanan, PhD, Chief Product Officer at AIRS Medical. "SwiftSight Body Composition is part of that shift. By automating the analysis of muscle, adipose tissue and liver fat, we are making advanced quantitative assessment easier to integrate into routine MRI workflows and creating a foundation for additional measurement capabilities across the SwiftSight platform."

More Than Weight or BMI

Body weight and BMI cannot show how fat and muscle are distributed throughout the body. SwiftSight provides quantitative information about visceral and subcutaneous fat, muscle quantity and quality, bilateral muscle balance and liver fat, giving healthcare professionals a more detailed view of body composition.

The solution evaluates core muscles including the abdominal wall, psoas and paraspinal muscles, as well as the quadriceps, hamstrings and adductors, including assessment of muscle proportion, quality and bilateral balance.

Liver fat is quantified using proton density fat fraction (PDFF), with automated region-of-interest measurements and visual mapping.

Supporting New MRI-Based Services

For imaging organizations, SwiftSight Body Composition also creates an opportunity to expand the value of existing MRI programs. Whole-body and preventive imaging, healthy-aging, weight-management and wellness programs can be extended with a differentiated quantitative service — creating a new revenue opportunity from MRI infrastructure already in operation.

Because MRI does not use ionizing radiation, SwiftSight can also support repeat quantitative assessment over time, allowing changes in body composition to be followed longitudinally.

For multi-site organizations, the combination of automated analysis, structured reporting and quantitative benchmarking provides a foundation for delivering a more standardized body composition experience across locations.

Expanding the AIRS Medical MRI Intelligence Platform

FDA clearance of SwiftSight Body Composition represents another step in AIRS Medical's strategy to help radiologists and imaging organizations get more performance, consistency and intelligence from the MRI infrastructure they own.

SwiftSight Body Composition expands the company's quantitative MRI portfolio beyond brain imaging and advances a broader platform strategy spanning MRI acquisition, workflow automation, quantitative analysis and longitudinal measurement.

The SwiftSight roadmap is expected to continue expanding, with diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) planned for November 2026 and quantitative joint applications planned for 2027, extending the platform into additional areas of quantitative MRI.
