LAVAL, QC, Oct. 12, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Bausch Health Companies Inc. (NYSE:BHC)(TSX:BHC) and its gastroenterology (GI) business, Salix Pharmaceuticals ("Salix"), announced results from a multicenter pilot study evaluating a standardized clinical pathway for cirrhosis management demonstrated improved adherence to evidence-based monitoring and treatment practices across community gastroenterology settings. The findings will be presented as a poster at the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) Annual Scientific Meeting & Postgraduate Course, taking place October 9-14, 2026, in Nashville, Tennessee.

The study, "Development and Implementation of a Cirrhosis Clinical Pathway: Outcomes of a 6-Month Pilot Study," assessed the feasibility and impact of a multidisciplinary clinical pathway designed to reduce variability in cirrhosis care and improve adherence to guideline-recommended management practices.

Cirrhosis is associated with significant morbidity and healthcare utilization, yet management approaches often vary across clinical settings. To address this challenge, investigators developed a standardized pathway informed by current clinical guidelines and evidence-based practices, with contributions from both academic and community-based healthcare providers.

The pathway was implemented across five community gastroenterology practices as part of a six-month quality improvement initiative. Using population health analytics, investigators monitored adherence to five key performance indicators, including follow-up office visit, laboratory testing, nonselective beta-blocker use in patients with varices, hepatic encephalopathy treatment, and enrollment in chronic care management programs.

The analysis included 4,251 patients with cirrhosis and demonstrated measurable improvements across several care metrics during the six-month pilot period:

- Office visit adherence increased from 46.9% at baseline to 51.1%, representing a 9.0% relative improvement.

- Recommended laboratory monitoring adherence increased from 61.5% to 63.5%, a 3.2% relative improvement.

- Non-selective beta-blocker treatment rates among patients with varices increased from 47.2% to 48.8%, a 3.4% relative improvement.

- Medication treatment rates for reducing hepatic encephalopathy recurrence increased from 60.2% to 64.9%, a 7.8% relative improvement.

- Enrollment in chronic care management/principal care management programs increased from 11.7% to 12.8%, representing a 9.4% relative improvement.

The investigators concluded that implementation of a standardized cirrhosis clinical pathway, supported by population health analytics, was feasible in community practice and resulted in improved adherence to guideline-based monitoring and treatment recommendations.

"These results highlight the value of a clinical pathway in helping providers deliver more consistent, guideline-based care for patients with cirrhosis," said Peng-Sheng (Brian) Ting, MD, principal investigator of the pilot initiative. "As the burden of liver disease continues to grow, broader adoption of proven care pathways may help close gaps in care, improve treatment adherence, and support better patient outcomes."

About the Study

The study leveraged the Cardinal Health PPS Analytics platform to identify gaps in care and monitor adherence to predefined clinical pathway benchmarks. Investigators believe the approach may serve as a scalable model for improving cirrhosis management in community practice settings and supporting delivery of guideline-concordant care.

The data presented in this release reflect findings submitted to and accepted for presentation at the American College of Gastroenterology Annual Scientific Meeting & Postgraduate Course 2026. Findings should be considered preliminary until presented and further evaluated in peer-reviewed publications.

POMDOCTOR LIMITED Highlights the Shift from Reactive Treatment to Predictive Healthcare

POMDOCTOR LIMITED Highlights the Shift from Reactive Treatment to Predictive Healthcare

GUANGZHOU, China, Oct. 12, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- POMDOCTOR LIMITED ("Pomdoctor" or the "Company") (NASDAQ: POM), a digital healthcare company focused on advancing artificial intelligence ("AI")-enabled healthcare solutions, today highlighted its strategy to participate in the ongoing transformation of healthcare from a traditionally reactive model centered on treating illness after it occurs toward a more predictive and proactive approach to health management.

For much of the past century, healthcare delivery has primarily followed an event-driven model in which patients seek medical care after symptoms emerge, physicians diagnose the condition, and treatment follows. While advances in medical science have significantly improved diagnosis and treatment, the fundamental model has remained largely reactive.

Today, advances in AI, healthcare data and remote monitoring technologies are beginning to reshape this model. Wearable devices and remote patient monitoring ("RPM") technologies can support continuous collection of health indicators outside traditional clinical settings, while longitudinal and real-world healthcare data can provide a broader view of changes in an individual's health status. AI can help analyze these multidimensional datasets, identify potential risk signals and support more timely healthcare decisions.

Pomdoctor believes the convergence of these technologies is enabling healthcare to evolve from "diagnose and treat" toward "predict, alert and intervene," with particular relevance to chronic disease management, where continuous monitoring and timely intervention can play an important role in long-term health management.

Pomdoctor's Role in the Transition to Predictive Healthcare

Against this backdrop, Pomdoctor is positioning its healthcare ecosystem to participate in the transition toward predictive healthcare. The Company's strategy combines its existing healthcare operations and physician resources with AI, wearable technologies, RPM capabilities and real-world healthcare data.

Rather than developing these capabilities independently, Pomdoctor aims to integrate them into a coordinated healthcare management framework in which data generated through monitoring and healthcare interactions can support AI-driven analysis, physician follow-up and more personalized health management.

The Company believes its existing healthcare infrastructure and growing technology capabilities provide a foundation to support a more continuous, data-driven and proactive model of care.

Mr. Zhenyang Shi, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Pomdoctor, commented, "For generations, healthcare has largely focused on treating patients after illness or symptoms appear. New technologies are creating the opportunity to move healthcare intervention further upstream. We believe predictive healthcare will become an increasingly important part of future health management. By combining our healthcare operations, physician resources, real-world data and technology capabilities, we aim to help build the infrastructure needed to support this transition."

About POMDOCTOR LIMITED

POMDOCTOR LIMITED (NASDAQ: POM) is a digital healthcare company focused on advancing AI-enabled healthcare solutions and expanding predictive healthcare capabilities. The Company leverages physician resources, wearable technologies, artificial intelligence, healthcare payment networks and real-world healthcare data to support more personalized, continuous and data-driven healthcare services. Building upon its established healthcare platform and physician network, POM is pursuing the development of a predictive healthcare data and services infrastructure designed to improve healthcare outcomes and create long-term value for patients, healthcare providers and other ecosystem participants. The summit fosters collaboration across sectors that too often address housing challenges separately. Its focus on systemic solutions will give attendees an opportunity to exchange ideas and build relationships across policy, development, research, and entrepreneurship.

"The most important thing that we can focus on as we seek to solve the broader issue of housing affordability is taking solutions that already exist and share them with the communities that need them the most." said Abby Ivory, co-founder and president of Ivory Innovations. "We're excited to be bringing industry experts and housing advocates together to share and discuss solutions to a problem that has such a huge impact on families across the country."

Featured presenters:

- Clark Ivory, Ivory Homes CEO and Ivory Innovations Co-founder

- Chris Herbert, Managing Director of Harvard's Joint Center for Housing Studies and Ivory Innovations Advisory Board Chairman

- Eric Kronberg, Principal at Kronberg Urbanists + Architects and Co-founder of Inc Codes

- Laurie Goodman, The Urban Institute's Housing Finance Policy Center Founder

- Jonathan Lawless, Bilt Rewards Head of Homeownership

- Flavio Bravo, Arizona State Senator

- Shawnna Bolick, Arizona State Senator

- Nicole Newhouse, Director of the Arizona Housing Coalition

- Anakaren Lemus, Chief of Government Affairs for the Arizona Department of Housing

The summit will also honor the winners of the 2026 Ivory Prize for Housing Affordability, whose work illustrates how communities can approach affordability in three categories; Construction & Design, Finance, and Policy & Regulatory Reform. This year's winners are TradesFutures, the City of Boston's Boston Acquisition Fund, and the City of Chattanooga's Affordable Housing PILOT and the City of New Rochelle's Downtown Development initiative as co-winners.

These honorees created concrete starting points for a national conversation about housing solutions: preparing more people for construction careers, financing housing acquisition, and using local policy to support affordability and development.

The summit will also include presentations from the three teams that won Hack-A-House, an annual Ivory Innovations competition where college students nationwide propose innovative solutions to housing affordability. These presentations will be livestreamed, followed by a round of voting for the competition's Grand Prize.

The Ivory Prize Summit is presented in partnership with MOD X, Housing Innovation Alliance, the Arizona Research Center for Housing and Economic Solutions, and the Morrison Institute for Public Policy at Arizona State University.

Long-Term Uranium Price Moves Past Its 2007 Peak While Energy Metals Deals Keep Coming
Image File
Original HTML

VANCOUVER, BC, Oct. 12, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Energy Metal News News Commentary - The long-term uranium price ended September at $96.50 per pound, above the $95 peak reached in 2007, while the spot price closed the month at $89.63, according to figures published by Cameco. The prices that utilities agree to pay years in advance are now running ahead of the spot market, a sign that buyers are planning for tighter supply later in the decade. Producers, developers and lithium suppliers spent the past two weeks reporting results, signing offtake agreements and reorganizing their portfolios. Active Companies from around the markets with current developments this week include: Cameco Corporation (NYSE: CCJ), Uranium Energy Corp. (NYSE American: UEC), enCore Energy Corp. (NASDAQ: EU), Elevra Lithium Limited (NASDAQ: ELVR), National Energy Services Reunited Corp. (NASDAQ: NESR).

Uranium equities have not followed contract prices higher. As of early October, Cameco shares were down 6.9% for the year and 11.6% over the prior month, and the VanEck Uranium and Nuclear ETF (NLR) was down 16.4% year to date, according to Yahoo Finance. Market observers have pointed to utilities' slow pace of new term contracting as one reason the record contract price has not yet translated into share price gains.

Policy support for new reactors continued to build. On September 30, the United States and the Republic of Korea announced a framework anticipating about US$120 billion of Korean investment to help deploy Westinghouse reactor technology in the United States, covering up to six AP1000 units and up to two APR1400 units. The terms are non-binding and subject to final negotiations, definitive agreements, site identification, regulatory approvals and financing.

In lithium, Chinese battery-grade lithium carbonate averaged 122,350 yuan per tonne on October 9, according to Shanghai Metals Market, as buyers returned cautiously after the National Day holiday. Producers outside China continued to secure long-term buyers and new extraction projects.

In other industry developments and happenings in the market this week include:

Cameco Corporation (NYSE: CCJ)

Cameco, which holds a 49% interest in Westinghouse, acknowledged the U.S.-Korea framework on September 30. Westinghouse is expected to receive about US$2 billion in value per APR1400 unit through intellectual property licensing, engineering and procurement services, subcontracting and long-term fuel fabrication supply. The framework also contemplates a potential Korean equity investment in Westinghouse, which Cameco does not expect to change its ownership interest.

"Cameco remains focused on supporting the US government's objective of quadrupling US civil nuclear capacity by 2050," said Tim Gitzel, CEO of Cameco.

Uranium Energy Corp. (NYSE American: UEC)

Uranium Energy reported fiscal 2026 production of 229,294 pounds of uranium for the year ended July 31, and sold 400,000 pounds from inventory at a weighted average realized price of $93.13 per pound for revenue of $37.3 million. The company held $753 million in liquid assets, including $495 million in cash, with no debt, and 1,256,000 pounds of U3O8 in inventory.

"In fiscal 2026, UEC became a multi-mine uranium producer," said Amir Adnani, President and CEO. "We enter fiscal 2027 debt-free with an exceptional balance sheet and the ability to fund our ongoing growth."

enCore Energy Corp. (NASDAQ: EU)

enCore completed the distribution of 35,000,000 common shares of Verdera Energy Corp., which holds its New Mexico in-situ recovery uranium assets, to enCore shareholders as a special dividend on September 30. enCore retains about 15 million Verdera shares and is now focused on its South Texas operations, its South Dakota project and its U.S. project pipeline.

"Completing the Verdera distribution delivers on our commitment to put value directly in the hands of enCore shareholders," said Rich Little, Chief Executive Officer of enCore.

Elevra Lithium Limited (NASDAQ: ELVR)

Elevra signed a binding offtake agreement with LG Energy Solution on October 7 for 240,000 dry metric tonnes of spodumene concentrate over four years from its operating North American Lithium project in Quebec, with supply beginning later this year. Elevra CEO and Managing Director Lucas Dow described LG Energy Solution as 'a committed customer for a meaningful portion of NAL's production'.

National Energy Services Reunited Corp. (NASDAQ: NESR)

NESR signed an agreement with Saudi Aramco on October 8 to deliver the Aramco 2027 Lithium Demonstration Project, described as the region's first direct lithium extraction project. The project is designed to produce 2,000 tonnes per year of battery-grade lithium carbonate using NESR's LiThara platform, with commissioning planned for late 2027. The contract runs up to five years with a value of approximately US$200 million.

Havoc Awarded SBIR Phase III Contract by Army Applications Laboratory for Multi-Domain Mission Collaborative Autonomy

PROVIDENCE, R.I., Oct. 12, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Havoc, the collaborative autonomy software company, today announced it has been awarded a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase III contract from the Army Applications Laboratory (AAL). The award will fund continued development of Havoc's collaborative-autonomy capabilities for logistics resupply across multiple hardware platforms.

The contract builds on Havoc's work under xTech Overwatch, where the company's technology was selected from a field of more than 40 competing vendors. Since then, Havoc's team has worked to demonstrate that its autonomy software can operate across domains, orchestrating the delivery of critical resupply to Soldiers via both air and ground platforms.

"This award does more than fund the next phase of our work with the Army," said Paul Lwin, CEO of Havoc. "The Phase III designation means any agency in the federal government, not just the Department of War, can now bring Havoc on board through a streamlined, non-competitive path, drawing on the work we've already proven out. We built this technology to solve a Department of War logistics problem, and now the door is open for it to solve similar problems anywhere in government."

Havoc credited the Army Applications Laboratory and the SBIR program with creating a pathway that moves quickly from demonstrated capability to fielded contract.

Under the new contract, Havoc will expand its multi-domain capabilities to orchestrate the delivery of critical resupply to Soldiers via air and ground platforms, in direct response to a need identified by its customer at Overwatch/Pegasus Charge, 1st Cavalry Division.

About Havoc

Havoc is a leader in all-domain collaborative autonomy. Its software-defined hardware approach powers military and commercial-grade autonomous systems across sea, air, and land to sense, decide, and act together in complex and contested environments. Havoc connects assets, enabling them to share information, adapt in real time, and continue operating even when communications are disrupted or denied. Havoc optimizes mission performance and minimizes human risk. Learn more at havocai.com.
