Mortgage Rate Shifts Explained by Real Estate Expert Wade Budinetz of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania for HelloNation

BETHLEHEM, Pa., Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- How do changing mortgage rates affect real decisions for buyers and sellers in the Lehigh Valley? That practical question is the focus of a HelloNation article that explains how rate movements interact with local demand, monthly payment limits, and timing choices in a steady Lehigh Valley housing market. The feature offers clear guidance so buyers and sellers can respond to mortgage rates with more confidence and less guesswork.

In this HelloNation feature, Real Estate Expert Wade Budinetz breaks down how mortgage rates influence affordability without stopping the market altogether. The article explains that even small rate changes can reshape how buyers view price ranges, neighborhoods, and long term goals. By focusing on real examples from the Lehigh Valley housing market, it gives readers a grounded framework they can apply to their own plans.

The article begins by showing how mortgage rates affect buyers most directly through the monthly payment. A higher rate can raise that monthly payment enough that some homes move out of reach. HelloNation explains that this shift often leads buyers to adjust their search rather than abandon it, especially when they are committed to finding a Lehigh Valley home that fits long term needs.

For buyers, the feature describes how rate changes can narrow the field to certain neighborhoods, home sizes, or property conditions. It notes that in competitive areas like Macungie, buyers may respond by tightening their budget, considering attached homes, or focusing on homes that need fewer improvements. Real Estate Expert Wade Budinetz emphasizes that these adjustments are normal reactions, not signs of failure.

HelloNation also points out that the Lehigh Valley housing market offers a range of options for different budgets. When mortgage rates rise, some buyers look beyond the most competitive areas to nearby communities that still offer strong value and reasonable commutes. The article stresses that buyers and sellers both benefit when they understand that flexibility can keep plans moving even when the financial picture changes.

The feature then turns to the seller perspective, explaining that sellers feel mortgage rate shifts in a different way. When borrowing becomes more expensive, some buyers become cautious, and certain listings may take longer to attract strong offers. The article notes that this does not mean the market has stalled, only that buyers are more careful about their monthly payment and long term goals.

HelloNation highlights that the Lehigh Valley has not mirrored the broad slowdowns often mentioned in national headlines. The article explains that steady demand from local residents, commuters, and buyers moving from higher cost regions continues to support activity. Real Estate Expert Wade Budinetz describes how well prepared homes with realistic pricing strategies still perform well because the underlying demand remains stable.

Pricing strategies are presented as a key tool for sellers facing changing mortgage rates. The feature explains that when rates rise, it becomes even more important to align list prices with current local data instead of past peak conditions. By doing so, sellers respect the limits of buyers and keep their homes competitive in a cautious environment.

The article also explores how mortgage rates influence urgency. Some buyers may think about waiting for a better rate, but HelloNation points out that timing the absolute bottom is very difficult. Prices can continue to move, and inventory can tighten while buyers sit on the sidelines, which can erase any benefit of a small rate improvement.

Instead, the HelloNation feature encourages buyers to weigh mortgage rates against long term goals. It explains that decisions grounded in fit, location, and overall stability tend to hold value over time, even if rates shift later. This perspective helps buyers see a home as a long term asset rather than a short term reaction to market noise.

Neighborhood examples help bring this idea to life. The article highlights communities like Macungie, Emmaus, and parts of Bethlehem Township, where demand remains strong because of commutes, school districts, and established character. In these competitive areas, mortgage rates may change the shape of offers, but they rarely change the basic desire to live there.

HelloNation notes that many buyers in these neighborhoods accept a slightly higher monthly payment when the home supports their long term goals. For families planning to stay in a home for many years, factors such as stability, location, and quality of life often outweigh the discomfort of a small rate increase. Real Estate Expert Wade Budinetz explains that this is especially true when buyers expect income growth or future refinancing opportunities.

The article also offers practical steps for buyers adapting to new mortgage rates. It suggests revisiting pre approval numbers when rates change, updating budgets, and discussing revised price ranges with a trusted local professional. By doing this work early, buyers can enter showings and negotiations with a clear ceiling and fewer surprises.

For sellers, HelloNation connects mortgage rates to preparation and presentation. When financing costs rise, buyers become less willing to overlook condition issues or inflated prices. The article explains that sellers who pair thoughtful pricing strategies with clean, well presented homes tend to see more consistent interest and smoother negotiations.

Throughout the feature, the Lehigh Valley housing market is shown as resilient, yet responsive to mortgage rates. Rather than viewing rates as the only factor, the article presents them as one part of a larger picture that includes demand, inventory, and local lifestyle patterns. This balanced view helps buyers and sellers stay focused on decisions they can control.

HelloNation concludes that clarity is the most valuable asset in an environment where mortgage rates move. By understanding how rates affect monthly payment, comfort levels, and timing, buyers and sellers can make choices that align with their personal plans instead of reacting to headlines. With steady guidance and attention to long term goals, the path through changing mortgage rates becomes much easier to follow.

HelloNation Article Explains Whole-Home Generator Electrical Readiness, Featuring Electrical Expert Gerald Talbot

Original HTML

The article outlines the electrical planning that supports a safe, reliable generator installation before power outages occur.

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- What electrical readiness matters before a whole-home generator? HelloNation answers that question in an article featuring insights from Electrical Expert Gerald Talbot of Mister Sparky in Louisville. The article explains how preparing a home's electrical system before installation helps homeowners avoid delays and support safe, dependable backup power.

The HelloNation article explains that many homeowners begin thinking about backup power only after an outage has already interrupted daily life. Planning ahead gives homeowners time to evaluate the home's electrical system and determine whether it can support a whole-home generator. The article notes that this preparation can reduce unexpected complications and make generator installation more efficient.

According to the article, installing a whole-home generator involves much more than selecting a location for the equipment. The home's electrical system must be reviewed to determine how the generator will connect, whether existing equipment is compatible, and whether electrical upgrades are needed before work begins. Electrical Expert Gerald Talbot explains in the article that these early evaluations help homeowners better understand the project's scope.

The article highlights the importance of selecting the proper transfer switch during generator installation. A transfer switch safely disconnects the home from the utility grid while the generator is operating, helping protect both the home's electrical system and utility workers. The article explains that electricians may recommend either an automatic or a manual transfer switch, depending on the property's electrical needs and layout.

Electrical panel capacity is another important part of electrical readiness. The article explains that older electrical panel equipment may not meet current standards or provide adequate capacity for a new backup power system. Before connecting a whole-home generator, electricians inspect the electrical panel to determine whether it can safely support the installation. In some situations, upgrading the panel improves both safety and long-term reliability.

The HelloNation article also emphasizes proper grounding and bonding. Grounding helps protect people and electrical equipment while allowing the backup power system to function as intended. The article notes that electricians verify grounding components meet current code requirements and recommend any necessary improvements before connecting the generator.

Planning for backup power also includes evaluating how much electricity the home will require during an outage. The article explains that reviewing appliances, heating and cooling systems, lighting, and other essential circuits helps determine the proper generator size. Even with a whole-home generator, understanding electrical demand helps the system operate more effectively during a power interruption.

The article also discusses permitting requirements, local electrical codes, and installation logistics. Every property presents unique conditions that can influence the project timeline and installation process. Reviewing these details before work begins helps homeowners understand what preparations may be required and supports a smoother installation experience.

Throughout the article, Electrical Expert Gerald Talbot emphasizes that electrical readiness means understanding how every part of the home's electrical system works together before adding backup power. Inspecting the transfer switch, electrical panel, grounding, and overall system capacity helps ensure the generator installs safely and efficiently.

LODE GOLD COMPLETES FIRST SIX HOLES OF EXPANDED 20-HOLE DRILL PROGRAM AT FREMONT GOLD MINE
Image File
Original HTML

VANCOUVER, BC, Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Lode Gold Resources Inc. (TSXV: LOD) (OTCQB: LODFF) (FSE: X27) ("Lode Gold" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has completed the first six drill holes of its expanded 20-hole drilling campaign at the Fremont Gold Mine in Mariposa County, California. Lode Gold has expanded its drill program to 4,200 meters (13,780 feet) with an additional ten holes. Samples from the first two drill holes have already been submitted to the laboratory for analysis, and the Company is awaiting assay results.

The six completed drill holes represent half of the Company's planned 12-hole metallurgical drilling program at Fremont from the total 20-hole campaign. The holes are being drilled using PQ-diameter core to provide sufficient material for both assaying and subsequent metallurgical test work. For each hole, one-quarter of the recovered core is being submitted for gold assay, while a further quarter will be allocated to metallurgical testing following receipt and review of the assay results. The remaining half of the core will be retained in core boxes for future reference, with the possibility of an additional quarter of the core available for further testing or analysis if required.

Jon Hill, Chair of the Technical Committee of Lode Gold, commented: "The use of PQ-diameter core provides an important degree of flexibility in our drilling program. Where we intersect historical underground workings, including drifts and stopes, we can reduce the core diameter to HQ to keep drilling past the open spaces. At the same time, the larger PQ core diameter ensures that we recover sufficient material to support the gold assays and the metallurgical test work planned for Fremont. This approach allows us to address the practical challenges of drilling through a historically mined deposit while obtaining the material needed for the next stage of technical evaluation."

The six completed drill holes are designated PT-J_001 through PT-J_006, with planned target depths ranging from approximately 105 metres to 171 metres (344 to 562 feet). The holes were designed with an azimuth of 240° and a dip of -75°.

Wendy T. Chan, CEO and Director of Lode Gold, commented: "We are making steady progress with our inaugural 20-hole drill program at Fremont. These holes comprise of the first part of the metallurgical drilling which will help refine our geometallurgical model for future feasibility-level studies. We anticipate news flow and drilling from Q4 of 2026 through Q1 2027 for the in-situ hydrogeological holes and followed up by step-out exploration in untested zones. The drill is turning and this is a transformative period for Lode Gold."

Samples from the first two drill holes have already been dispatched to the laboratory, while sample preparation and submission for the remaining holes will continue as the campaign progresses. The Company will report analytical results once they have been received, reviewed and validated.

NOVATO, Calif., Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Eczema Awareness Month 2026 is underway, and this year's theme is the State of Eczema. Since Oct. 1, the National Eczema Association (NEA) has been inviting the community to see, share and talk about what living with eczema is like. Throughout October, NEA is asking a question for the more than 31 million Americans living with eczema, and those who care for them: what is it like to live with eczema, and what does it take to get good care?

The theme builds on the State of AD, NEA's four-year initiative on atopic dermatitis (AD), funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). It brings together two kinds of evidence, national data and the experiences of people with eczema, to offer a more complete view of the condition.

The State of AD: data that backs up the experience

On Oct. 1, NEA published its State of Atopic Dermatitis Indicator Report, along with 51 state-level briefs covering all 50 states and Washington, D.C. AD is the most common form of eczema. The report is the first comprehensive national and state-level baseline on AD diagnosis and care, and it points to gaps across the country. The complete report and all state briefs are available at StateofAD.org.

"Eczema Awareness Month is about making sure people feel seen. The State of AD gives us the evidence to show that eczema deserves attention in every state, and the stories our community is sharing show why it matters. Together, they tell the whole story," said Kristin Belleson, president and CEO of NEA.

Video stories: eczema in their own words

Alongside the data, NEA is sharing video testimonials from people living with eczema and the caregivers who support them. The data shows the scale of the need, and the stories show the people behind it. Watch the stories at EczemaMonth.org.

Ways to take part this October

NEA invites people with eczema, caregivers, health care professionals and partners to join the conversation:

- Watch and share the video stories from the eczema community.

- Explore the State of AD report and your state's brief at StateofAD.org.

- Use #UnhideEczema on social media to share your own experience.

- Visit EczemaMonth.org for resources, events and more ways to get involved.

NEA thanks all the sponsors and partners who make Eczema Awareness Month possible, including our Platinum Sponsors: AbbVie, all® free clear, LEO Pharma, and Sanofi and Regeneron.

In HelloNation, Tax Resolution Expert Thomas Stamper Explains How an IRS Payment Plan Works

Article Reviews Payment Options for Back Taxes and Explains Why the Full Cost Matters More Than the Monthly Payment.

FARMINGTON, N.M., Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- How does an IRS payment plan work? Recently published, a HelloNation article provides the answer by explaining the payment options open to people who owe back taxes.

The article explains that the IRS offers more than one way to pay a tax balance over time. Knowing how each option works can help taxpayers choose a plan that fits their budget.

The insights featured in the article come from Thomas Stamper, a Tax Resolution Expert with Alpha Omega Accounting PC in Farmington, New Mexico. He works with individuals and small businesses on IRS and state tax matters.

According to the article, the simplest option is a short-term payment plan. It gives taxpayers up to 180 days to pay the full balance, and the IRS does not charge a setup fee for it.

The article notes that a short-term plan works well when a shortfall is temporary. A bonus, a home sale, or seasonal income might cover the balance within six months.

When six months is not enough, the article describes a long-term option called an installment agreement. Most people who owe $50,000 or less in combined tax, penalties, and interest can apply online if all required returns are filed.

The article explains that taxpayers can request an IRS payment plan online, by phone, or by mailing Form 9465. Online requests for qualifying balances are usually the fastest and least costly route.

For qualifying balances, taxpayers can often choose their own monthly amount and due date. The main condition is paying off the balance within the allowed term, which is generally up to 72 months.

The article also points out that smaller balances get extra protection under federal law. Individuals who owe $10,000 or less in tax are generally guaranteed an agreement if they can pay within three years and meet certain filing rules.

Installment agreements do carry a setup fee, according to the article. The amount depends on how a person applies and whether they choose automatic bank withdrawals, and lower-income taxpayers may qualify for a reduced or waived fee.

One common belief the article addresses is that a payment plan freezes the balance. It does not, because interest keeps building on the unpaid amount until the debt is fully paid.

The failure-to-pay penalty also continues, the article notes, although it may shrink. For on-time filers, the monthly penalty generally drops from half a percent to a quarter percent during an approved plan.

To stay in good standing, the article explains, taxpayers must keep filing on time and pay new tax bills as they come due. Falling behind on a payment or on a new year's taxes can put the agreement in default.

The article also covers an important protection. While a payment plan request is under review, and while an approved plan stays in effect, the IRS generally will not levy wages or bank accounts.

For taxpayers who cannot afford even the lowest monthly payment, the article outlines other programs. These include a partial payment installment agreement, an offer in compromise, and currently not collectible status, each with strict rules.

The article closes with practical advice to look at the full cost of a plan rather than just the monthly payment. A longer agreement may feel easier today, but it usually means paying more interest over time.

Drawing on the insights of a Tax Resolution Expert, the article gives readers a plain starting point for comparing an IRS payment plan with other options.

What to Know Before Setting Up an IRS Installment Agreement features insights from Thomas Stamper, Tax Resolution Expert of Farmington, New Mexico, in HelloNation.

JustAI Reinvents Marketing Around Revenue with a Full-Stack AI Platform
Image File
Original HTML

JustAI's one-to-one AI agents build, execute and continuously battle-test marketing campaigns against revenue goals.

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- JustAI today launched its full-stack agentic marketing platform, which brings CRM, orchestration, creative, delivery infrastructure and measurement into a single AI-native system. The platform is built around two simple ideas: marketing should make money, and every customer should be treated like an individual.

Founded by former Twitter and Pinterest growth leaders, JustAI is expanding from personalization at scale to the entire marketing stack, all powered by its Marketing Harness. JustAI works with companies in education, financial services, insurance and consumer technology, including Coursera, Pinterest, Airtable and Lemonade.

For decades, marketing has struggled to prove its impact on revenue and retention. Nearly half of marketing leaders (48%) admit they are still guessing which activities drive purchases, and 90% say marketers who can't show business impact will struggle to justify their budgets, according to a 2026 Harris Poll survey for Madison Logic. Teams run hundreds of campaigns, often with murky results, on frameworks built to work around the limits of half-baked tooling.

"After working with hundreds of marketers and tools over the last three years, we realized much of marketing's complexity, like journeys, snippets and rules, was built around technological limitations. We have to rapidly unlearn all of it in the AI world. It's time for a new category," said Neha Mittal, co-founder and CEO of JustAI.

JustAI tackles these problems on three fronts: proving revenue, personalizing every customer's journey and cutting the work it takes to run marketing. Marketers set the goals and guardrails, and JustAI's agents handle the rest.

Built Around Revenue

JustAI measures whether marketing campaigns caused customers to engage, spend or convert by comparing customers who received a campaign with similar customers who didn't. Teams report incremental revenue instead of opens and clicks.

At Better Mortgage, JustAI rebuilt two revenue-critical email journeys and tested them against the originals. The share of pre-approved shoppers who went on to start a full loan application rose 30%, from 9.25% to 12.08%. "Right message, right person, right time was always the goal. JustAI is how we finally get there: AI tests the combinations, and we stop guessing," said Lilian Gordon, senior lifecycle manager at Better.

1:1 Marketing for Every Customer

JustAI's agents build journeys and adapt to each customer's behavior, language and market in real time, while testing which version works best for each person.

At Acorns, JustAI made more than 1,000 AI-driven decisions across 65 million messages, optimizing directly for upgrades and retention, and compressed three years of testing into one month. "No human can pre-write a rule for every customer state. JustAI's agents don't need them," said Simon Shulman, VP MarTech at Acorns.

Operational Efficiency at Scale

Lifecycle teams are asked to deliver more results with the same budget: marketing budgets have held under 8% of company revenue, and 56% of CMOs say they lack the budget to deliver their 2026 strategy, according to Gartner's 2026 CMO Spend Survey. JustAI pairs the AI agents that create each experience with QA models that take the grunt work and verification off the marketer's plate, and nothing goes live without the marketer's approval. Coursera launched three journeys in under two weeks with no engineering work and lifted subscriptions among at-risk learners by 27%.

Dental Expert Dr. Landon B. Rockwell Explains the Hidden Benefits of Routine Dental Exams in HelloNation
Image File

The Article Explains How Regular Dental Checkups Help Prevent Tooth Decay, Protect Gum Health, and Identify Oral Health Problems Early.

TOOELE, Utah, Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- What are the benefits of routine dental exams beyond checking for cavities? A HelloNation article answers that question with insights from Dental Expert Dr. Landon B. Rockwell of Rosewood Family Dentistry in Tooele, Utah.

The article explains how routine dental exams support preventive dental care by identifying problems before noticeable symptoms develop. Regular visits allow dental professionals to examine teeth, gums, and surrounding tissues for early signs of decay, inflammation, and other oral health concerns.

According to the HelloNation article, protecting tooth enamel is an important part of maintaining healthy teeth. Enamel serves as the outer defense against decay and sensitivity. Dental examinations can reveal early enamel wear, grinding damage, and areas where bacteria may cause problems.

The article describes how tooth decay develops when bacteria feed on sugars and produce acids that weaken enamel. Daily brushing and flossing help control bacterial buildup, but professional cleanings remove hardened plaque that home care cannot eliminate. These preventive measures help reduce the risk of cavities and gum disease.

Fluoride treatment is another benefit discussed in the HelloNation feature. Fluoride helps strengthen weakened enamel and increases resistance to acid damage. The article notes that children and adults at higher risk for cavities may benefit from additional fluoride protection during dental visits.

The article also highlights saliva's importance in maintaining oral health. Saliva helps wash away food particles, neutralize acids, and deliver minerals that protect teeth. Reduced saliva production can lead to dry mouth, increasing the risk of cavities, gum irritation, and bad breath.

Drawing on insights from Dental Expert Dr. Landon B. Rockwell, the article explains that dental professionals can identify signs of dry mouth during examinations. Patients may benefit from improved hydration, sugar-free lozenges, or reviewing medications that contribute to dryness.

Gum health is another major focus of routine dental exams. The HelloNation article explains that dentists check for swelling, bleeding, and gum recession that may indicate developing gum disease. Early treatment and improved oral hygiene can help prevent inflammation from progressing into more serious problems.

The article also examines the role of oral cancer screenings in preventive care. Dentists look for unusual sores, patches, or changes in oral tissues that may require further evaluation. Identifying concerning changes early can improve the chances of timely diagnosis and treatment.

Dental X-rays offer another way to identify problems that a visual exam may miss. The article notes that imaging can reveal hidden decay, bone loss, and damage beneath existing dental restorations. Protective sealants may also help younger patients prevent cavities in hard-to-clean grooves.

The HelloNation feature emphasizes that professional cleanings remain important even for patients who maintain strong brushing and flossing habits. Regular tartar removal and oral tissue exams help prevent minor concerns from becoming more complicated dental problems.

The article concludes that routine dental exams provide benefits beyond cavity detection. Regular checkups, preventive treatments, and personalized oral hygiene guidance work together to protect enamel, support healthy gums, and maintain long-term oral health.

Understanding the Hidden Benefits of Routine Dental Exams features insights from Dr. Landon B. Rockwell, a dental expert in Tooele, Utah, in HelloNation.

First ground-up CITY HOME showroom marks a major milestone in the retailer's growth across Tampa Bay

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- CITY HOME celebrated the Grand Opening of its new Wesley Chapel showroom, welcoming thousands of guests over four days of giveaways, entertainment and immersive in-store experiences. The opening marks a major milestone in the retailer's growth following its June transition from CITY Furniture to CITY HOME, bringing its Tampa/Sarasota footprint to four showrooms.

The 120,000+-square-foot Wesley Chapel location is the first showroom built from the ground up specifically as CITY HOME and the company's second fully converted CITY HOME showroom, offering customers the clearest expression yet of the brand's expanded "first stop for all things home" vision.

"Wesley Chapel really brings the CITY HOME vision to life," said Andrew Koenig, CEO of CITY HOME. "We're creating a destination where customers can solve more of their home needs in one place, with great value, great service and an experience that feels completely different from traditional furniture shopping. The response during Grand Opening weekend showed us customers are excited about where we're headed."

The Wesley Chapel showroom expands beyond furniture and mattresses into appliances, closets, home electronics, bath, fitness, kitchens and connected home solutions. The experience also includes a broader range of services, from interior design and custom cabinetry to connected home installation.

The four-day celebration featured more than $90,000 in giveaways, including a Tesla Model 3 giveaway, with the winner to be announced in the coming months. Thousands of guests visited throughout the weekend, with full parking lots and strong customer turnout as shoppers experienced the new CITY HOME concept firsthand.

Wesley Chapel builds on CITY HOME's continued investment in the Tampa market and follows the opening of its Sarasota showroom in 2025. After 55 years in business, the family-owned retailer continues to evolve its store network, services and customer experience while expanding across Florida.

The opening is part of CITY HOME's broader growth strategy, with additional showroom openings and CITY HOME conversions planned across Florida through 2028.

Pepco Approves ConnectDER's Meter Socket Adapters For D.C. Solar, Storage, & EV Charging Installations
Image File
Original HTML

WASHINGTON, Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- ConnectDER, the leading manufacturer of meter socket adapters (MSAs)—or meter collars—for solar, battery storage, and EV charging installations, today announced that its full line of products is formally approved for installation across Pepco's service territory in Washington, D.C.

The company's Solar MSA, EV MSA, and IslandDER™ MSA will help streamline the installation process of distributed energy resources (DERs) for millions of residents throughout the District, enabling installers to cut costs and timelines. D.C. joins ConnectDER's growing national footprint of 54 utilities reaching nearly 40 million households, with further utility expansion in progress.

ConnectDER's adapters plug directly into the existing meter socket on the outside of the home. By establishing a safe connection point at the meter, this innovation bypasses the need for complex main panel upgrades (MPUs), service upsizing, circuit relocations, or adding backup loads panels and system controllers—all of which drive up labor costs and delay project timelines. Eliminating these internal bottlenecks allows installers to complete jobs faster, clear project backlogs, and shield homeowners from unexpected electrical expenses.

"Demand for residential solar, battery backup, and electric vehicles across Washington, D.C. continues to surge, but the physical challenge of older electrical infrastructure slows down installations," said Ivo Steklac, ConnectDER President & CEO. "With Pepco approving our adapters for installation outside the home at the meter socket, installers don't need to re-engineer the entire panel and home wiring to get these systems up and running. They can deliver clean energy resilience to District residents more efficiently, saving them thousands of dollars off total costs and days of labor. That directly translates to increased installation capacity and fewer barriers—keys for achieving D.C.'s ambitious electrification goals."

"ConnectDER's meter socket adapters have helped us make solar and EV charging accessible to more DC residents without requiring expensive electrical upgrades," said Joseph Sigwarth, Executive Director of Operations for DC-based Solar Solution. "Our customers get a less disruptive, more cost-effective installation, and our team avoids a lot of the added time, labor, and complexity that comes with panel reconfigurations and service upgrades. ConnectDER's devices make projects simpler for everyone involved."

Washington, D.C. is one of the nation's most progressive clean energy markets, propelled by aggressive Clean Energy DC mandates—including an ambitious Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) featuring a dedicated 15% local solar carve-out—plus high-value Solar Renewable Energy Credit (SREC) yields and Pepco's favorable full-retail net energy metering (NEM) policy. As rising electricity costs and more frequent power outages drive demand for energy independence, District homeowners are increasingly pairing rooftop solar with battery storage to enable whole-home backup power and optimize their daily energy usage.

However, installers in D.C. routinely face structural and electrical hurdles. The District's unique urban building stock—dominated by historic row homes and aging electrical infrastructure—frequently features 100-amp electrical panels that require main service upgrades costing between $1,800 and $5,800 before solar, battery storage, or EV charging equipment can be interconnected. Tight interior footprints also make mounting extra subpanels or wiring Current Transformers (CTs) labor-intensive.

"ConnectDER's approval by Pepco DC is a big win for District residents and installation companies, following dedicated work from several CHESSA members to pass enabling regulations," said Robin Dutta, Executive Director of the Chesapeake Solar and Storage Association (CHESSA). "This makes solar and battery storage more accessible for everyday homeowners, which is exactly the type of change we want to see more of."

ConnectDER's IslandDER™ MSA—engineered specifically for whole-home backup and battery storage—solves this by integrating a Microgrid Interconnect Device (MID), CTs, voltage sensing, and real-time grid disconnect capability into a single compact device mounted outside at the meter. IslandDER™ installs in 15 to 30 minutes without reconfiguring panels or re-routing household circuits. It's compatible with leading residential battery systems from SolarEdge, FranklinWH, Lunar Energy, EcoFlow, and Fox ESS. Removing installation barriers is increasingly vital as D.C. evaluates proposals for Virtual Power Plant (VPP) pilot programs, which will allow battery-equipped homes to support grid stability and earn compensation for their stored power.

Additionally, ConnectDER's newest Solar MSA Data Out (D.O.) model features built-in CTs and native integration with SolarEdge inverters, giving D.C. installers a streamlined solution for solar-only roof mounts.

"With ConnectDER and its integrated CTs, we're able to complete installs faster and more cleanly," said Matt Macfadden, Owner & CEO of SunnyMac. "Eliminating panel work reduces install time and helps avoid additional truck rolls."

These operational time and cost savings extend directly to D.C.'s accelerating electric vehicle sector. District residents are rapidly adopting EVs, taking advantage of Pepco's $500 Level 2 EV charger rebate and D.C.'s 50% residential charger installation tax credit. However, adding a high-draw EV charger to an older home often overloads an existing 100-amp panel. ConnectDER's EV Meter Socket Adapter provides a direct, safe power take-off point at the meter socket, eliminating the need for a panel upgrade in most homes and making fast at-home charging far more accessible and affordable.

ConnectDER's MSAs are available for purchase through distribution nationwide.

About ConnectDER

ConnectDER has been a pioneer in designing and developing meter socket adapters (MSAs) since 2011, simplifying the connection of distributed energy resources (DERs) such as solar, battery storage, and electric vehicle charging equipment. ConnectDER's products help accelerate installations, avoid complex electrical work, and reduce costs for both installers and homeowners—making renewable energy solutions more accessible and affordable for all. The company's devices are UL-listed and NEC-compliant, approved by utilities across the U.S., and used by solar installers nationwide. Installers can purchase ConnectDER's meter socket adapters through their preferred distributor. Email [email protected] to talk to a ConnectDER sales representative.
