BID's Art Ave Experience Celebrated for Advancing Revitalization in DC's Downtown

WASHINGTON, Sept. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The International Downtown Association today recognized the Golden Triangle Business Improvement District (BID) with the Downtown Achievement Award of Excellence for its resourceful approaches related to designing and implementing Art Ave. A jury of peer professionals reviewed, deliberated and evaluated all entries in the 2026 Downtown Achievement Awards. The Award of Excellence acknowledges an excellent response to an urban place management challenge, demonstrating application of industry knowledge and exceeds the jury criteria.

Art Ave was entered in the category of Public Space Management and Operations which IDA identifies as one of the seven professional urban place management practice areas. This category features unique organizational approaches and projects in the areas of clean, safe and hospitality, placemaking and activation, and facilities management.

"Art Ave transformed the urban landscape, inviting District residents and visitors from around the world to experience a continued journey of art-filled exploration, with each vivid artwork serving as a beacon to the next," Leona Agouridis, President of the Golden Triangle BID said. "We are honored to receive this IDA award recognizing Art Ave and the success of our placemaking efforts."

The Golden Triangle developed Art Ave to create a destination-worthy experience that attracted office workers, residents, and tourists who were visiting the White House and National Mall into the office-centric Golden Triangle in the post-pandemic era. Art Ave was made possible by the Streets for People grant program under the DC Office of Planning.

Using stunning public art as a catalyst, Art Ave created a natural gateway connecting the White House's Lafayette Park to the Golden Triangle's Connecticut Avenue corridor and Farragut Square Park. This free, outdoor experience featured captivating public art, engaging events, and inviting outdoor furnishings that encouraged visitors and residents to explore, support businesses, and linger longer. Art Ave was experienced by more than 200,000 visitors, advancing downtown revitalization and establishing a replicable model for public space activation.

"The Golden Triangle BID has demonstrated skillful application of urban place management principles with their creation of Art Ave," said David Downey, IDA President and CEO. "The immersive, people-focused experience that Art Ave delivered should serve as a framework to all member communities within IDA."

IDA is convening this September in Toronto for Intersections: Where Districts, Disciplines & Ideas Converge, a three-day conference to discuss emerging trends in place management. The Golden Triangle BID was recognized for their award-winning Art Ave project during the Downtown Achievement Awards ceremony at the 72nd Annual Conference & Marketplace, September 1-3, 2026. IDA's Annual Conference & Marketplace is the premier gathering for professional place managers and urban champions creating vibrant and healthy cities around the world. The conference features educational sessions, Master Talks (short keynotes from industry leaders), marketplace exhibitors and networking opportunities.

Washington, DC-based IDA is the premier organization for urban place professionals who are shaping and activating dynamic city center districts. OnePlan's August Release Gives Portfolio and Program Leaders Sharper Visibility, from Dashboards to Resource Demand
Image File
Original HTML

SAN MARCOS, Calif., Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- OnePlan, a global leader in AI-enabled Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) and enterprise Project Portfolio Management (PPM), today announced its August 2026 release. The update delivers new portfolio visualization options, sharper resource demand visibility, deeper Microsoft Project Connector precision, expanded automation coverage, and performance improvements across Work Plan, Financial Plan, Resource Plan, and connected integrations.

"Portfolio and program reviews shouldn't start with someone spending a day building the first report," said Scott Hebert, CEO of OnePlan. "With ready-made dashboard templates, a new Treemap view, and richer widgets across the board, this release gets executives, sponsors, and PMOs looking at the same answer instead of five different spreadsheets."

New Dashboard Visualizations Give Leaders a Clearer View of the Portfolio

The August release expands OnePlan's dashboard options with a new Treemap widget, available on Portfolio, Plan, Global Resource Plan, and Modeler dashboards, showing a compact, proportional view of where work, cost, or capacity concentrates. The Table widget now includes a Gantt view with independently configurable start, end, and progress fields, letting teams visualize schedules directly on a dashboard. Card widgets add support for choice, lookup, and text fields with field-level color coding, and Heatmaps gain flexible X- and Y-axis sorting alongside new color palette options.

A new downloadable library of standard dashboard templates gives organizations a fast, consistent starting point for portfolio reporting. Templates are fully editable once imported, so teams can start from a finished dashboard and configure it to their own requirements rather than building a report from scratch.

Sharper Resource Demand Visibility Across the Portfolio

A new Resource Usage view shows work assignments at the time interval that matters most, across all work items in a plan, giving resource managers a clearer picture of how time is distributed. A new resource capacity data source is now available at the Portfolio, Plan, and Global Resource Plan levels, so teams can see capacity alongside the work itself instead of piecing that view together manually.

Deeper Precision from the Microsoft Project Connector

OnePlan now supports time-phased resource assignments during Microsoft Project schedule sync, so resource allocation carries over across specific time periods rather than as a single total. Task-level constraint types and dates now sync from Microsoft Project into OnePlan, external dependencies are preserved when syncing from Microsoft Project, and organizations can synchronize OnePlan's resource-level cost table with Microsoft Project on a per-file basis.

Plan Details Pages Give Each Audience a Focused View

Plan Details can now be organized into multiple dedicated pages, letting organizations present fields for focused consumption rather than one long form. This improves the experience for plans with extensive data, while existing business rules, tables, and custom fields carry over unchanged. Plan Rollup Fields also update more quickly when related plans change, keeping portfolio-level data current.

Broader Automation Coverage and Approval Tracking

Plan automations can now be triggered by work item summary-level fields in addition to detail-level items; expanding the range of scenarios teams can automate. Automation approval notes are now logged directly in the relevant work item comments, and the OnePlan Backup Utility now includes Global and Plan automations based on backup selections.

Near Real-Time Azure DevOps Integration

A new near real-time Azure DevOps integration brings supported data updates into OnePlan automatically, within minutes rather than waiting on the next scheduled sync. Organizations can opt out of automatic updates on a plan-by-plan basis, and a dedicated administration screen supports configuring and managing the feature at scale. This capability requires an Enterprise license.

Additional Release Highlights

- Bulk assignment of material and cost resources directly onto work items in Work Plan

- Financial Plan resource import enhancements for cost non-labor resources and time-phased work resource assignments

- Rollup Financial Plan view for comparing related plans' financial data

- Financial Plan and Resource Plan administration now available directly from the front end

- Time-phased import support for work resources in Resource Plan

- Timesheet updates giving plan managers control over when entry detail opens and restricting time entry to active work items

- Modernized Resource Center navigation, with new view management for Enterprise team pools

Availability

The August 2026 OnePlan release is now available to all OnePlan customers. Complete release notes and documentation are available at support.oneplan.ai.

Rozwój kluczem do wspólnego dobrobytu

W ciągu ostatnich 25 lat, kierując się duchem szanghajskim, państwa SCO zwiększały wymianę handlową, pogłębiały powiązania inwestycyjne i wzmacniały połączenia w regionie, tworząc nowe możliwości rozwoju gospodarczego.

Podczas wydarzenia zawarto 193 porozumienia o współpracy i transakcje handlowe o wartości około 1,74 mld juanów (259 mln dolarów). Uruchomiona rok temu w Tiencinie Platforma Współpracy Chin i SCO w Dziedzinie Gospodarki Cyfrowej ułatwiła już realizację 29 projektów transgranicznych, m.in. w obszarze infrastruktury obliczeniowej, handlu cyfrowego i komercyjnych zastosowań technologii kosmicznych.

W 2003 r. SCO przyjęła wielostronny program współpracy gospodarczej oparty na trzyetapowym planie przewidującym: w krótkiej perspektywie ułatwianie handlu i inwestycji, w średniej - tworzenie stabilnych i przejrzystych zasad w średniej, a w długiej - stopniowe umożliwianie swobodniejszego przepływu towarów, kapitału, usług i technologii.

In HelloNation, Precast Concrete Expert Clay Prewitt Outlines Precast Manhole Specifications for Project Requirements

Choosing the Right Precast Manhole Depends on Depth, Pipe Connections, and Load Conditions Unique to Each Project.

MEDFORD, Ore., Sept. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- What should a project team check before ordering a precast manhole? A HelloNation article provides that answer, covering the depth, pipe connections, and load conditions that shape the right structure for a project.

The article explains that choosing a precast manhole should start with a project's actual conditions rather than a standard catalog listing. It notes that depth, pipe layout, and load conditions each shape the right specification.

According to the article, invert elevations for incoming and outgoing pipes set the base height of a manhole. That height then determines the number of riser sections and the overall size of the unit.

The article addresses pipe connections next, noting that each opening in the manhole wall must be sized and positioned for a specific pipe. Manufacturers can cast these openings during production, which reduces field cutting once the structure reaches the site.

Load conditions matter just as much as depth and pipe placement, the article states. A precast manhole installed beneath a highway needs thicker walls than one placed under a quiet residential street.

Traffic patterns, burial depth, soil type, and groundwater levels all influence how much reinforcement a structure needs, according to the article. Access and safety features, including step spacing and ladder placement, also deserve early attention.

The article's insights come from Clay Prewitt, Precast Concrete Expert at Rogue Valley Precast in Medford, Oregon. His background informs the article's walkthrough of how project teams can plan a manhole order from the start.

The article also points to specifications set by governing agencies or clients as a major factor in manhole design. Many municipalities maintain standard drawings that define acceptable dimensions, materials, and joint types for buried structures.

Joint type is another detail worth confirming early, the article notes. Gasketed joints are often specified where groundwater infiltration is a concern, and manufacturers need that information before production begins.

Precast Concrete Experts generally benefit from early coordination between the project engineer and the manufacturer, the article explains. A short conversation about dimensions, openings, and finish requirements can catch conflicts that drawings alone might miss.

Transportation and site access play a quieter role in manhole selection, according to the article. Larger or deeper units may need to ship in multiple sections, so confirming crane access and delivery routes ahead of time helps avoid surprises.

The article also mentions that concrete mix design matters for sites with aggressive soil or wastewater conditions. Corrosion-resistant liners or specialized mixes can extend the service life of a precast manhole in demanding environments.

Lead time benefits from early planning as well, the article explains. Custom openings, non-standard depths, or specialized coatings can add production time compared with a standard configuration.

Quality checks before shipment help confirm that a structure matches its design intent, the article notes. Reputable manufacturers inspect dimensions, openings, and joint surfaces before a unit leaves the yard.

Maintenance access should factor into the original design conversation rather than becoming an afterthought, the article adds. Wider steps, deeper sumps, or additional access points can simplify inspection for years to come.

Ultimately, the article states, a manhole structure is only as good as the information behind its design. Project teams that gather depth, connection, load, and specification details early tend to see fewer changes once installation begins.

Matching Manhole Specifications to Project Requirements features insights from Clay Prewitt, Precast Concrete Expert of Medford, Oregon, in HelloNation.

empirik.ai emerges from stealth with $21 Million to build the AI Agent for Infrastructure Change

Funding from Sequoia Capital, S32, Canapi and Alumni Ventures will expand empirik.ai's Autonomous Infrastructure Engineer

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, empirik.ai launched from stealth and announced $21 million in funding from Sequoia Capital, S32, Canapi Ventures and Alumni Ventures. The company is introducing the industry's first AI agent for infrastructure change, enabling enterprises to proactively understand engineer's intent, deterministically compute its impact and safely execute complex infrastructure at machine speed.

The rise of AI coding agents has dramatically accelerated the velocity of software creation. However, the underlying infrastructure operating model remains manual, reactive, and reliant on human-speed change review boards and ticket queues. As machines produce code at unprecedented speed, manual infrastructure governance creates a critical operational bottleneck and elevates the risk of severe production failures.

empirik.ai addresses this risk by understanding infrastructure changes and their impact before execution. Using empirik.ai, customers can answer the question, "What will happen if I make this change?" When an engineer or AI agent initiates an action from a pull request, ticket, or pipeline, empirik.ai captures the intent at the source, projects the mutation across the live environment, and computes the exact impact before anything is deployed. With a continuously updated infrastructure graph with governed execution workflows, teams can assess risk, prevent/block unsafe changes and safely move at machine speed. empirik.ai thus flips how infrastructure is managed, moving teams from reactive firefighting to proactive execution.

"Running infrastructure at Salesforce taught me that teams were always forced to choose between moving fast or staying reliable," said Kartik Chandrayana, CEO of empirik.ai. "Now, AI coding agents are shipping software at machine speed, but infrastructure is still managed by hand. You cannot put autonomous software upstream of manual infrastructure and expect the system to hold. empirik.ai builds the living memory and operational layer for infrastructure – giving teams the ground-truth context to understand intent, evaluate risk, and safely automate operations before changes cause downtime."

"Managing infrastructure complexity is a problem that founders Avon Puri and Sudheer Dhurjati have faced throughout their careers, and one that I am intimately familiar with from my many years at VMware," said Bogomil Balkansky, Partner at Sequoia Capital. "That shared conviction is why Sequoia incubated empirik.ai. As AI takes over the software development process, and dramatically speeds it up, the old way of change management with service tickets and human approvals becomes obsolete. empirik.ai is the new foundation for change management at machine speed: it understands change intent and computes its potential impact before it's executed. We couldn't be more excited to partner with Kartik, Avon, Sudheer, and the entire team as they make proactive, autonomous infrastructure a reality."

empirik.ai is already actively powering complex production environments across leading enterprises, including Guardant Health, Avahi Systems, TCBPay, a Fortune 50 CPG enterprise, and a Fortune 500 financial data services leader.
