BBNX Investor Alert: Schall, Brown & Schwartz LLP Files Class Action Lawsuit Against Beta Bionics, Inc. and Announces Opportunity for Investors to Lead Class Action Lawsuit

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Schall, Brown & Schwartz LLP, a national shareholder rights litigation firm, announces that it has filed a federal securities class action on behalf of purchasers of Beta Bionics, Inc. ("Beta Bionics" or "the Company") (NASDAQ: BBNX) common stock between July 30, 2025 and February 24, 2026, inclusive (the "Class Period"). Beta Bionics investors have until November 3, 2026 to seek appointment as lead plaintiff of the purported class in the Beta Bionics class action lawsuit. The complaint in Holtzman v. Beta Bionics, Inc. et al., No. 2:26-cv-09999 (C.D Cal.) charges Beta Bionics and certain of the Company's top executive officers with violations of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.

Shareholders who purchased shares of BBNX during the Class Period are encouraged to contact SBS to find out if they are eligible to recover their losses or move the court to serve as lead plaintiff of the purported class and lead this lawsuit. Appointment as lead plaintiff is not required to partake in any recovery. A lead plaintiff is a representative party acting on behalf of other class members in directing the litigation.

Details of the Case: According to the Complaint, the Company made false and misleading statements to the market about the Company's automated insulin delivery system for the treatment of diabetes, known as the iLet Bionic Pancreas insulin pump ("iLet"). Throughout the Class Period, Defendants touted the safety, efficacy, and commercial success of the iLet, the Company's sole commercialized product. After disclosing that the FDA had issued a Form 483 following an inspection of the Company's manufacturing facility, Defendants repeatedly assured investors that the agency's observations concerned only the Company's criteria for deciding which customer complaints were reportable, that they reflected no underlying problem with the device, and that the complaints the Company would now be required to report were minor events of the kind requiring no medical intervention. In truth, the FDA's findings reached the Company's quality management system, its investigation and correction of known device malfunctions, and the risk analysis for the device itself, and the events the Company had failed to report included serious injuries. Defendants continued to reassure investors and to characterize the agency's concerns as procedural even as further information emerged showing that the unreported events were far more serious than Defendants had represented and that the FDA's objections were not confined to a difference in regulatory interpretation. As the truth emerged, the price of Beta Bionics common stock declined and Plaintiff and the Class suffered damages.

PLATINUM EQUITY TO SELL DE WAVE GROUP FOLLOWING MULTI-YEAR TRANSFORMATION

Global marine interiors specialist more than doubled revenue and EBITDA during Platinum Equity ownership, and surpassed €1 billion backlog

Transaction underscores Platinum Equity's commitment to investing and operating in Italy

LONDON, Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Platinum Equity announced today the signing of a definitive agreement to sell De Wave Group ("De Wave"), a leading provider of integrated marine interior and technical systems solutions for the cruise and yacht industries. Financial terms were not disclosed. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals and is expected to close by the end of 2026.

Headquartered in Genoa, Italy, De Wave supports shipowners and shipyards throughout the vessel lifecycle, from newbuilds to refits and upgrades. Its capabilities span design and engineering, manufacturing, project management and onboard installation, after-sales services, ship repair and maintenance.

During Platinum Equity's ownership, De Wave more than doubled revenue and EBITDA, grew its backlog to more than €1 billion and expanded its international footprint, all while navigating one of the most challenging periods in the history of the global cruise industry.

Platinum Equity acquired De Wave in October 2019. Shortly thereafter, the cruise industry entered a period of unprecedented disruption during the pandemic, as operators paused sailings and deferred newbuild and refit activity.

Platinum acted decisively during the disruption, elevating Riccardo Pompili to Group CEO and working closely with him to make key leadership hires and internal promotions at the height of the pandemic.

"When we acquired De Wave, we saw a technically strong business with the potential to become a more integrated global leader," said Louis Samson, Co-President of Platinum Equity. "Within months, the company was operating near the epicenter of Europe's initial COVID-19 outbreak while serving an industry brought to a near standstill. Riccardo and his team showed great leadership and together we rebuilt the business. It's a remarkable story of achievement, perseverance and teamwork."

"De Wave is a compelling example of what our team can achieve in close partnership with management," said Fernando Goni, Managing Director at Platinum Equity. "We believe our operational focus and the combined strength of our investment, operations and capital markets teams helped strengthen leadership, improve execution and build a more integrated and resilient platform through organic growth and M&A."

Highlights of the transformation include:

- More than doubled revenue and EBITDA from acquisition levels, reaching record fiscal 2025 revenue of more than €400 million and EBITDA of more than €50 million

- Elevated Riccardo Pompili to Group CEO during the pandemic and strengthened the executive leadership team through key hires and internal promotions

- Completed a series of strategic add-on acquisitions that expanded De Wave's product offering, technical capabilities and international footprint

- Advanced initiatives across pricing and margin discipline, sourcing, project execution, technology, health and safety, and other core operating capabilities

- Expanded total backlog from approximately €500 million at acquisition to more than €1 billion today, providing strong visibility across the newbuild and refit businesses

"Platinum Equity was a committed partner throughout an extraordinary period for our industry," said Riccardo Pompili, Group CEO of De Wave. "The team acted decisively, supported our leadership and gave us the resources to invest in De Wave's future. Together, we expanded our capabilities, strengthened our international presence and created a more integrated platform that can support customers throughout the lifecycle of a vessel. I am deeply grateful to our employees for their dedication and proud of what we have achieved. We look forward to working with Renaissance Partners as we begin our next chapter."

Samson said the success of the De Wave investment marks another important milestone for Platinum Equity in Europe and its commitment to invest in Italy and other countries throughout the region.

"We have deliberately built our European deal platform with a diverse team that can operate across multiple local languages and cultures. Italy is a formidable market where having those capabilities is a difference maker," said Samson. "With the leadership of Filippo Rossi and Fernando Goni, our team has built strong local relationships and has deep experience partnering with Italian founders, families and management teams to support the development and international expansion of their businesses."

Platinum Equity's current portfolio also includes Fantini Group (Ortona, Italy), a producer and exporter of specialty-label wines, and Fratelli Polli (Monsummano Terme, PT, Italy), a producer of pasta sauces, condiments and vegetable preserves. Both remain active Platinum Equity investments.

Lazard, Clearwater, UniCredit, New Deal Advisors, EY Tax and PWC Tax are serving as advisors to Platinum Equity. Ropes & Gray is serving as legal counsel. BCG is serving as strategic advisor to De Wave.

CNCF and SlashData Report Highlights China's Cloud Native Momentum as AI Moves to Inference

New research finds China's IIoT developers (48%) outpace the global average (42%) in cloud native adoption as AI infrastructure matures

Key Highlights:

- CNCF and SlashData released the State of Cloud Native Development in China report, analyzing cloud native trends based on regional-specific data stemming from the Q1 2026 State of Cloud Native Development report, which previously surveyed 12,500 developers across 100 countries.

- China is home to an estimated 1.75 million cloud native developers, including approximately 400,000 cloud native AI developers. New research into AI developer maturity finds cloud native technologies and practices play distinct roles as AI teams progress from experimentation to production serving and distributed inference.

- China's next generation of backend developers is embracing cloud native, with 58% of backend developers under 25 classified as cloud native.

SHANGHAI, Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- KubeCon + CloudNativeCon + OpenInfra Summit + PyTorch Conference China -- The Cloud Native Computing Foundation® (CNCF®), which builds sustainable ecosystems for cloud native software, today released new findings from its latest State of Cloud Native Development in China report, in collaboration with SlashData. The report features China-specific insights stemming from the Q1 2026 State of Cloud Native Development report. The research dives into China's growing cloud native ecosystem and examines how cloud native infrastructure is supporting AI teams as they move from experimentation and training toward production inference.

"AI is moving quickly but cloud native is defining the open source infrastructure that will support it in production at scale," said Chris Aniszczyk, CTO, CNCF. "China has a strong open source developer community that can play an important role in that work. As inference scales, many of the challenges look familiar to cloud native — scheduling, isolation, networking, observability and operating distributed systems reliably. Bridging these communities together is how we build an open AI infrastructure stack that developers can contribute to, build on and run anywhere."

Cloud native provides a path from AI experimentation to production

The report estimates that China is home to approximately 1.75 million cloud native developers as of Q1 2026, with adoption especially resonating with the country's next generation of developers.

- Professional IIoT developers in China are more likely to be cloud native (48%) than the global average (42%), signifying technical demand for complex deployments.

- Approximately 400,000 AI developers in China are cloud native, underscoring the intersection between the country's cloud native and AI developer ecosystems.

- The global cloud native developer community has reached 19.9 million developers and continues to grow.

- Nearly half (48%) of Chinese backend developers are now classified as cloud native, up from 30% two years ago. Compared to the global rate of 52%, China has rapidly reached the global baseline.

Both China and the global tech community are taking notice of cloud native's role in AI. The report examines how AI developers adopt infrastructure technologies as their workloads mature. Developers follow a distinct cloud native path:

- Data pipeline operations: Kubernetes and microservices provide the foundational infrastructure layer, followed by event-driven architecture, streaming services and observability tools to support sophisticated data pipelines.

- Training and experimentation: Feature flagging, RPC and immutable infrastructure support model version routing, distributed training and reproducible environments.

- Production serving: Service meshes, chaos engineering and multicluster management support traffic splitting, resilience testing and distributed inference at scale.

As AI systems move toward production, specific cloud native practices will continue to support different requirements.

China's new generation of developers embrace cloud native

Similar to recent CNCF and SlashData findings from India, adoption in China is particularly strong among younger developers with more than half of Chinese backend developers under age 45 classified as cloud native. Among backend developers under 25, that figure reaches 58%, suggesting cloud native is embedded in how the next generation builds backend services.

"China's developer ecosystem offers an important view into how cloud native adoption is evolving alongside AI and industrial development," said Liam Bollmann-Dodd, principal market research consultant at SlashData. "The strong adoption among younger backend developers points to cloud native becoming an increasingly established part of modern software development, while our global AI findings show how these infrastructure practices evolve as teams progress toward increasingly sophisticated production AI systems."

Infrastructure becomes more crucial as AI matures

Platform engineering is changing how developers interact with underlying cloud native infrastructure. 88% of backend developers now work with some form of infrastructure standardization, up from 80% six months ago. As platforms abstract technologies such as Kubernetes and containers, the underlying infrastructure can become less visible to developers even as it becomes more critical to production workloads.

At the most advanced levels of cloud native maturity, these practices converge. The report found the strongest technology association in the dataset between immutable infrastructure and chaos engineering, with a lift of 2.22. This means the two are adopted together at more than twice the rate. This "elite cluster" also includes multicluster management and service meshes, which shows how developers who operate complex systems adopt multiple advanced infrastructure practices.

For AI teams, the maturity path looks different. Immutable infrastructure emerges early on to support consistent deployments, while more advanced production environments bring together chaos engineering, service meshes, and multicluster management to support areas like resiliency and distributed inference. As AI becomes deeply embedded in production systems, the data reinforces the growing role of cloud native technologies as the infrastructure base for the AI-native era.

Guanlan AI Applications: Higher Accuracy, Lower Cost, Smarter Interaction

HANGZHOU, China, Sept. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- It's over a year since Hikvision launched the Guanlan large-scale AI models. In a very real sense, today's video systems 'understand' what they are looking at. They also know what has already been recorded and, thanks to the natural language innovations, what the user wants. These are the things that let a product fit the scenario it is deployed in – delivering operations that run more safely, at lower cost, and with less manual work.

AI detection and analysis: Alarms you can count on

Perimeter protection

The perimeter is where a wrong detection costs most. Legacy systems are easily triggered by animals, weather, and moving vegetation, burying real threats under manual assessment work.

Guanlan addresses this problem at the edge. DeepinViewX cameras run the model, cutting false alarms by 90% while detecting at twice the range of traditional cameras, with half as many repeated alarms on the same target. Whether using optical cameras for short perimeters, or thermal, radar, and fiber-optic sensing for vast distances, the AI helps reduce the noise.

Scenario-specific analytics

Beyond the perimeter, Guanlan moves past standard object detection to flag high-risk issues in specialized environments. Built for recognized operational risks, these applications typically reduce false alarms by 70% to 90%.

- Safety & compliance: Examples include Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) detection on construction sites, fall detection in care homes, and smoking detection in gas stations. In all cases, the system continuously monitors for risky behaviors and triggers instant alerts.

- Operational hazards: Examples include forklift detection in logistics parks, and early fire and smoke detection in mining sites using dual-channel thermal cameras.

- Specialized uses: Examples include animal detection for large farms and prohibited item detection at transport hubs – the latter powered by large X-ray and millimeter-wave models.

AI efficiency engine: Doing more with less

Saving storage with intelligent ROI compression

Conventional encoding treats every part of the frame as equally worth keeping. To deliver breakthrough video storage optimization, Guanlan Encoding brings the large vision model into the encoding pipeline. It uses precision Region of Interest (ROI) segmentation to preserve detail on dynamic subjects – people, vehicles, and other key objects – while applying heavier compression to static backgrounds. Storage savings average between 30% and 50%.

Searching video with just a few words

Finding a specific moment in recorded video has often been slow. An operator knows roughly what they are after and has no way to pinpoint it except by scrubbing a timeline.

AcuSeek removes that step. Built on a large multimodal model for natural language video search, it aligns image features with the meaning of a written phrase, so a description becomes a query. Results come back in seconds.

The next frontier: Software as an AI agent

Hikvision's new HIKO AI agent, arriving on the HikCentral Professional platform and Hik-Connect app, changes the interaction entirely. It sits between the system and the user, turning complex configurations into simple conversational commands.

HIKO acts as an AI Assistant that carries out administrative instructions instantly – like setting up visitor access against a plate number or pulling an attendance report just by asking for it. It functions as an AI Guardian, replacing rule configurations with a natural language command (e.g., "Alert me when the passageway is blocked"), tagging each alarm with a written summary, and composing contextual audio warnings from the scene. Finally, as an AI Search engine, it reconstructs a person's complete movement path – across video, door records, and ANPR reads – simply because the operator asked, "Where did the man in the blue shirt go?"

Xinhua Silk Road: City marathon in NE China's Shenyang draws running-lovers from home and abroad

BEIJING, Sept. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The Shengjing Bank Shenyang Marathon 2026 kicked off on Sunday morning, attracting around 22,000 running enthusiasts from home and abroad to the increasingly international event in Shenyang, capital of Liaoning Province in northeast China.

The full marathon drew 10,000 runners and the half marathon 12,000, all starting from the Shenyang Olympic Sports Center early on September 6.

In the men's full marathon, a Kenyan runner won the top honor, while the women's race was won by an Ethiopian runner. In the half marathon races, both men's and women's titles were won by Chinese runners, Zhang Xiaorui and Zhao Na.

While offering a platform for speed competition, the city marathon of Shenyang also deployed 30 first-aid-certified runners to accompany elderly runners, visually impaired participants and wheelchair athletes.

Via such heartwarming accompaniment, Shenyang's city marathon well demonstrated how a sports event can highlight the spirit of equality, courage and mutual care.

This year's Shenyang marathon featured northeastern Chinese dialect-style slogans along the racing routes milestones, such as "Laotie never gives up", to encourage runners to persevere.

These slogans full of local language characteristics not only presented the typical characters of northeastern Chinese such as straightforwardness, optimism, resilience and hard work, but also echoed the energetic trackside local cheering teams.

Staging heavy industry-themed dances, Yangge folk dances and other performances along the routes, the "Laotie cheering teams" meaning buddies-like cheering teams created an immersive experience of citywide cheering.

Among the multiple sites with cheering teams, a 100-meter-long "cheering corridor" on a local bridge over the Hun River impressed runners with large crowds of local citizens also basking in Shenyang's enthusiasm.

As every participant of the event was given a local "cultural tourism passport", they could opt for city walks to visit a dozen popular attractions in Shenyang.

Free to visit the Shenyang Imperial Palace, Zhang Xueliang's Former Residence Museum, and Shenyang Financial Museum from September 5 to 11, the runners from China and abroad may find the "Laotie-level" tourism services there more than hospitable.
