Starkey's New Omega AI+ Hearing Aids Use Four AI Brains to Fix Sound Quality

Eden Prairie, Minn. – October 01, 2026 -- Starkey has launched Omega AI+, a new hearing aid family built around a chip the company says processes sound up to 2.7 times faster than rival devices that advertise deep neural network processing.

A new processor runs four AI systems at once

Omega AI+ is powered by Starkey's G4 Gen AI Neuro Processor, which embeds neural network intelligence directly into the chip's silicon. The device relies on what Starkey calls Quad DNN Architecture, four specialized deep neural networks that work together in real time to handle speech understanding, environmental awareness, sound quality, and listening comfort.

The world's first DNN Dual Compressor targets a long-standing tradeoff

Starkey says traditional hearing aids have forced a choice between clear speech and natural sound quality. Omega AI+ introduces what the company calls the world's first DNN Dual Compressor, which automatically decides when to prioritize speech clarity versus preserving natural sound, aiming to remove that compromise. The platform also adds an enhanced Edge Mode that can stay active continuously, adjusting to sound environments without manual switching.

More hearing aid styles now get premium AI features

Starkey is extending its advanced AI tools to a wider range of devices. Custom rechargeable models now include the company's DNN 360 technology, intended to sharpen speech intelligibility, improve spatial awareness, and cut listening effort. Starkey's smallest custom non-wireless hearing aids are also gaining Automatic Edge Mode, bringing dynamic environmental adaptation to devices that previously lacked it. The family additionally supports Auracast broadcast audio, letting wearers tap into compatible public and personal audio streams while still following conversations.

Sleep tracking moves hearing aids into wellness monitoring

Omega AI+ adds Sleep Quality Tracking, which Starkey describes as an industry-first feature that generates nightly sleep scores and details on sleep cycles and body position using onboard sensors.

"We are creating intelligent technology that understands, adapts, and responds more like the human brain itself," said Brandon Sawalich, President and CEO of Starkey.
