Birmingham, Alabama – September 30, 2026 -- Storyteller Overland will launch its GEAR MODE van nationwide in the fourth quarter, with pricing starting at $149,497.67 for the base STR trim.
A rear cargo bay swaps out for a queen bed in minutes
The van's GearWall system opens the rear into a full cargo bay for storing motorcycles, climbing gear, or tools. A modular panel system called GearShift then reconfigures the interior into four setups: an open gear bay, an RV queen bed, bench seating, or a table for dining and work. L-track tie-down points run through the floor and walls to secure equipment during transit.

The van doubles as a mobile office with Starlink prewiring
Beyond outdoor use, Storyteller markets GEAR MODE to contractors and business owners as a mobile tool bay or remote workspace, built with onboard power and prewiring for a Starlink Mini satellite connection.
Off-grid power tops out at nearly 12kWh
A Lithionics power system comes in 4kWh or 8kWh configurations, upgradeable to 11.9kWh, paired with a 2000W inverter and prewiring for up to 1,500W of solar. The cabin also includes diesel-fired hydronic heat, a 12V rooftop air conditioner, a 20-gallon fresh water tank, and an exterior shower.
Three trims target different terrain and budgets
The STR trim rides on BFG KO3 all-terrain tires with prewiring for a KC HiLites 360 lighting package. The ADV trim, priced at $171,477.89, adds an nVader roof rack, ladder and rear rack, a manual awning, extra storage, and a second Lithionics battery. The MAX trim, at $187,493.42, includes the Evictus Advanced Kit, a KC HiLites 360 lighting package, an nVader brush guard, and no-rub fenders for harder trail use.
Every GEAR MODE ships with a 1-year/15,000-mile Storyteller Overland limited warranty and a 5-year/75,000-mile Mercedes-Benz Extended Limited Warranty.
