Newport Beach, Calif. – September 28, 2026 -- Chipotle Mexican Grill is bringing back its discontinued margarita for one weekend in October at five restaurants, pouring $6 drinks to fans who have spent years asking for its return on social media.
The margarita returns to one restaurant every weekend this month
Called the "Summon the Spirits Tour," the pop-up campaign kicks off in Denver on October 2 and 3, then moves to Brooklyn on October 9 and 10, Dallas on October 16 and 17, Los Angeles on October 23 and 24, and finishes in New Orleans on October 30 and 31. Each stop runs from 3 to 9 p.m. local time, and the drink is limited to guests 21 and older.
Five ingredients, no shortcuts
The Chipotle Margarita is made with premium tequila, triple sec, citrus juice, agave nectar and a fresh lime wedge -- no artificial flavors or premade mixes. Dallas will also offer a frozen version alongside the original, a nod to the city's claim as birthplace of the frozen margarita machine.
Stephanie Perdue, Chipotle's Senior Vice President of Brand Marketing, said the drink never stopped generating buzz after it left the menu, making Halloween the right moment to bring it back. Fans have kept the margarita's memory alive through TikTok posts and throwback photos for years, with online comments recalling how "fireee" the original recipe was.
Each stop gets a themed pop-up bar
Restaurants hosting the tour will feature dedicated margarita bars, Halloween decor, interactive activities and chances to unlock Chipotle prizes. Denver's stop is billed as "Where the Spirit Began," referencing the brand's founding city, while New Orleans closes the tour as "Where Spirits Never Rest."
Boorito returns October 31
The tour leads into Chipotle's annual Boorito promotion, an in-restaurant entree deal tied to Halloween. Chipotle said further details on this year's Boorito offer will be announced later in October.
