Fort Lauderdale – September 28, 2026 -- Princess Cruises has become the first global cruise line to launch a native app inside ChatGPT, letting travelers search, compare and plan trips across its fleet using plain conversational language.
Travelers can tag @princesscruises to search 330+ destinations across 17 ships
Once the Princess app is installed in ChatGPT, guests can type requests such as "@princesscruises Show me seven-night cruises that visit Santorini in August 2027" or "@princesscruises Help me plan a cruise to Alaska next summer." Within the same chat, they can compare itineraries and ships, check current pricing and availability, and explore ports, shore excursions, cruisetours and onboard packages.
The tool lets users refine plans mid-conversation without restarting a search
A traveler researching an Alaska cruise could follow up by asking which itineraries visit Glacier Bay National Park, which ones depart from Seattle, or how two specific sailings differ -- all without leaving the chat thread.
Setup requires installing a plugin through ChatGPT's desktop or mobile menu
Users log into or create a ChatGPT account, then add the Princess Cruises plugin by searching for it in the Plugins sidebar on desktop or under Browse Plugins in the mobile app's settings menu. After connecting, they open a new chat and type a request, such as "@princesscruises help me plan a cruise to Japan next spring," to begin.
Princess plans to expand beyond ChatGPT to other AI platforms
Neena Vicente, Princess Cruises Vice President of Digital Commerce and Experience, said the launch reflects a shift in how consumers use generative AI to evaluate choices and plan complex trips, not just find information. Rosemary DeAragon, Head of Technology & Consumer Industries at OpenAI, said the integration shows how AI platforms and travel brands can make planning more conversational. The app is currently limited to ChatGPT, with Princess intending to add other compatible AI platforms subject to availability and technical requirements.
