Lehigh Valley Dares Visitors to Cram In Everything Fall Has to Offer

Lehigh Valley – September 24, 2026 -- Discover Lehigh Valley, the region's official destination marketing organization, is challenging visitors to see how many fall experiences they can pack into one trip, from covered-bridge drives to a 15th-anniversary bacon festival.

Peak foliage hits mid- to late October, timing the region's biggest events

Alex Michaels, President and CEO of Discover Lehigh Valley, said travelers can start a day picking pumpkins at Valley Fruits and Veggies, spend the afternoon at a festival or scenic trail, and end with a cocktail at Eight Oaks Farm Distillery while taking in the foliage.

Festivals run nearly every weekend through November

Oktoberfest at SteelStacks runs Oct. 2-4 and 9-11 with wiener dog races and the Pennsylvania State Stein Holding Championship. The Easton Garlic Fest takes over downtown Easton Oct. 3-4, followed by PA Bacon Fest on Nov. 7-8, marking its 15th anniversary with more than 100 vendors serving items like bacon on a stick and maple bacon cupcakes. Celtic Classic in Bethlehem runs Sept. 25-27 with highland athletics and pipe bands.

Outdoor options include scenic drives and a heritage-corridor race

Visitors can tour historic covered bridges along the region's countryside roads or browse the Easton Farmers' Market, one of the country's oldest continuously operating markets. The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley hosts Barktoberfest, a dog-friendly event, on Oct. 17-18. D&L RaceFest on Nov. 15 offers a run and walk along the Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor, paired with a weekend of local business deals.

Halloween events target both families and thrill-seekers

Dorney Park splits its Halloween programming into daytime Tricks and Treats (Sept. 19-Nov. 1) and the after-dark Halloween Haunt (Sept. 18-Oct. 31) for an older crowd. Lehigh Valley Zoo runs Boo at the Zoo on select dates from Oct. 17 through Nov. 1, while Crayola Experience hosts Screamin' Green Hauntoween through Nov. 1. The Eerie Easton Walking Tour runs Sept. 25 through Nov. 8, covering the city's haunted history.

Wine and spirits tastings round out the harvest season

Lehigh Valley Wineries, including Clover Hill Vineyards & Winery and Franklin Hill Vineyards, offer tastings paired with vineyard views. Eight Oaks Farm Distillery serves handcrafted spirits and food made from locally sourced ingredients.
