Havana – September 22, 2026 -- Habanos, S.A. has launched the Trinidad Vigía Reserva Cosecha 2022, the first-ever Reserva edition from the Trinidad brand, with a recommended retail price of 3,800 USD (3,276 EUR) per box of 20 and 660 USD (570 EUR) for a gift box of three.
The cigar uses leaves that underwent an additional aging process of at least three years, and production is strictly limited to 5,000 individually numbered boxes of 20 Habanos plus 5,000 gift boxes containing three Habanos, available at points of sale worldwide.
The cigar debuts in Trinidad's largest current ring gauge format
The new Reserva is presented in the Vigía vitola, measuring 54 x 110 mm and offering a medium-strength smoking profile with a smoking time of approximately 50 minutes. It is a Parejo format with a pigtail cap, produced at the Torres factory.
Unlit, the cigar offers notes of cedar and toasted hazelnut. The first third delivers smooth, creamy smoke dominated by cedar and hazelnut with an even burn. The second third introduces dark cocoa, sweet spices, and roasted coffee, while the final third brings aged leather, sweet undertones, and a hint of white pepper.
Each band includes NFC technology for authentication
The distinctive 'Reserva' band incorporates NFC technology, letting buyers access product information and verify the authenticity of each Habano.
Trinidad marks its transition from state gift to global retail brand
Trinidad was established in 1969 and named after the Cuban city of Trinidad, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The brand originated as a Habano reserved exclusively as a state gift for international dignitaries before entering commercial distribution.
The world premiere took place in Montreux, Switzerland
Habanos, S.A. unveiled the cigar on September 19 at the Petit Palais of the Fairmont Montreux Palace, in an event organized with Intertabak, the exclusive Habanos distributor for the Swiss market. Roughly 300 international guests attended, including Intertabak board members, aficionados, business partners, and media.
Tony Hoevenaars, Managing Director of Intertabak AG, presented the new Reserva. The evening's pairing menu matched the Trinidad Vigía Reserva Cosecha 2022 with The Dalmore King Alexander III whisky, while Henri Giraud PR 90-20 champagne was served alongside the Trinidad Esmeralda.
