Camden, N.J. – September 19, 2026 -- Subaru of America has announced pricing for the 2027 Forester lineup, keeping the entry-level model at $29,995 MSRP, the same as the outgoing 2026 version, with vehicles arriving at dealers later this fall.
The 2027 Forester Hybrid also holds steady, starting at $34,730 MSRP. Nearly all trims carry over 2026 pricing unchanged.
A new hybrid Wilderness trim joins the off-road lineup
The 2027 Forester Wilderness Hybrid, priced at $40,495 MSRP, marks the first time Subaru has paired its rugged Wilderness package with a hybrid powertrain. It offers 9.3 inches of ground clearance, Yokohama GEOLANDAR all-terrain tires, and Subaru's X-MODE Dual-Mode system, delivering better fuel economy than the gas-only Wilderness without sacrificing all-wheel-drive capability.
Three gas-only trims are discontinued for 2027
The Forester Sport, Sport Onyx Edition, and Touring trims no longer appear on the gas-powered side. The gas lineup now consists of four trims -- Base, Premium, Wilderness, and Limited -- while the Hybrid lineup expands to five: Premium Hybrid, Sport Hybrid, Wilderness Hybrid, Limited Hybrid, and Touring Hybrid.
Every trim includes standard safety tech and all-wheel drive
All 2027 Forester models come with at least 8.7 inches of ground clearance, Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, and EyeSight Driver-Assist Technologies, which include Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering and Pre-Collision Braking. Most trims get an 11.6-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while Wilderness and all Hybrid trims add a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster.
Pricing spans from $29,995 to $41,545 across the range
The Forester Premium starts at $31,995, the Limited at $37,595, and the Sport Hybrid at $37,930. The Limited Hybrid is priced at $38,995, the standard Wilderness at $39,495, and the range-topping Touring Hybrid tops out at $41,545 MSRP.
Powertrains stay consistent with last year's specs
Gas Forester models use a 2.5-liter Subaru BOXER engine producing 180 horsepower, while Hybrid models combine an Atkinson/Miller-cycle 2.5-liter BOXER engine with electric motors and a lithium-ion battery for 194 combined horsepower. Every trim pairs with a Lineartronic CVT.
The 2027 Forester and Forester Hybrid are built in Lafayette, Indiana, and Gunma, Japan.
