Hikvision's Guanlan AI Cuts False Alarms 90%, Storage Costs 50%

Changzhou – September 11, 2026 -- Hikvision's Guanlan large-scale AI models have cut false perimeter security alarms by 90% while doubling detection range compared to traditional cameras, more than a year after the models' initial rollout.

Perimeter cameras cut false alarms 90% and double detection range

DeepinViewX cameras running on Guanlan reduce nuisance triggers caused by animals, weather and moving vegetation, which previously buried real threats under manual review workloads. The system also halves repeat alarms for the same target and applies across optical cameras for short-range perimeters as well as thermal, radar and optical sensors for long-distance monitoring.

Specialized-site analytics reduce false alarms 70% to 90%

Beyond perimeter defense, Guanlan targets known operational risks in specific environments. Applications include detection of personal protective equipment on construction sites, fall detection in elderly care homes, smoking detection at fuel stations, forklift monitoring in logistics parks, and dual-channel thermal imaging for early fire and smoke detection in mines. Large-scale models processing X-ray and millimeter-wave data also flag prohibited items at transport hubs, while livestock detection is deployed on large farms.

Guanlan Encoding cuts video storage costs 30% to 50%

Conventional video encoding treats every frame region as equally important for retention. Guanlan Encoding instead applies a computer-vision model to segment regions of interest, preserving detail on dynamic subjects such as people and vehicles while compressing static backgrounds more aggressively. The approach delivers average storage savings between 30% and 50%.

AcuSeek turns text queries into video search results within seconds

Locating a specific moment in recorded footage traditionally required manually scrubbing timelines with only a rough idea of the target. AcuSeek, built on a multimodal video-search model, matches natural-language descriptions against visual features so a typed phrase functions as a direct search query, returning results within seconds.

HIKO AI agent replaces manual configuration with conversational commands

Hikvision's new HIKO AI agent, launching on the HikCentral Professional platform and the Hik-Connect app, sits between the system and the operator to convert complex configuration tasks into simple conversational instructions. As an assistant, it executes administrative commands such as setting visitor access by license plate or generating attendance reports on request. As a guard function, it replaces manual rule-setting with plain-language commands, attaches written summaries to every alarm, and generates context-based audio warnings. Its AI Search function reconstructs a person's full movement path by cross-referencing video, door-access records and license-plate recognition data in response to a single operator query.
