Seoul – September 10, 2026 -- LX Pantos has completed a cross-border defense logistics operation transporting air-to-air missiles (AAMs) from France to South Korea for the Republic of Korea Marine Corps' Marine Attack Helicopter (MAH) program, the company announced.
LX Pantos moves missiles under Defense Acquisition Program Administration oversight for KAI
The project was executed for Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) under a program led by the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA). The AAMs, shipped by European defense contractor M, traveled from Châteauroux Airport in France to Incheon International Airport aboard a dedicated charter flight arranged by LX Pantos before being delivered by road to a Republic of Korea Marine Corps unit in Pohang.
Charter aircraft carried missiles as sole cargo under strict hazard classification
LX Pantos deployed a dedicated charter aircraft with the missiles as the only cargo to maintain security. The shipment was classified as Class 1 explosives, Division 1.2, Compatibility Group E, requiring compliance with IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations and national aviation safety rules in every jurisdiction crossed.
Operation required overflight clearance from 14 countries across three continents
LX Pantos secured overflight clearances from 14 countries spanning Europe, the Middle East and Asia, coordinating multimodal transport through its global network and European subsidiaries to complete the delivery.
Security credentials underpin expansion into defense logistics
LX Pantos received an "Excellent" rating in a 2024 security assessment by Korea's Defense Counterintelligence Command and holds Assessment Level 3 (AL3), the highest tier under the Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange (TISAX) framework. An LX Pantos official said the project reflected the company's safety, security and logistics expertise and confirmed plans to expand support for global defense customers.
