Sydney – September 10, 2026 -- Nuix announced on September 4 the general availability (GA) of generative AI features in its Nuix Discover SaaS platform for legal review and eDiscovery, alongside early-adopter access to a new conversational AI Chat tool for querying case data.
AI Chat lets legal teams query case files in natural language with court-ready audit trails
AI Chat allows reviewers, lawyers and investigators to ask questions in natural language and receive synthesized answers derived directly from document content. Every document reference and interaction is logged to maintain a defensible, court-admissible audit trail. The tool is now available under Nuix's Early-Adopter (EA) program, with full GA planned for December 2026.
Four Gen AI capabilities reach general availability across the review lifecycle
The GA release for Nuix Discover SaaS includes document summarization, similar-document detection, semantic search, and clustering with visualizations. Document summarization generates concise plain-language summaries at ingestion, helping reviewers quickly parse lengthy contracts, complex attachments and extensive email chains. Semantic search retrieves relevant content based on meaning rather than exact keyword matches, reducing the risk of missed documents across varied phrasing. Clustering groups documents by meaning and renders them visually, giving review teams early visibility into key themes, hot spots, outliers and inter-cluster relationships to guide review strategy and batch prioritization from day one.
Executive says the features make early case assessment faster and more defensible
"With AI Chat, teams can easily ask questions and get answers grounded in their case data -- answers that are well-founded and traceable. That's the standard the legal industry demands, and it's what sets Nuix apart," said Ilona Meyer, Executive Vice President of Nuix Discover.
Meyer said the summarization, semantic search, similar-document and clustering tools are integrated across both Early Case Assessment (ECA) and full Review stages, allowing teams to classify cases more quickly and accurately than with conventional approaches and decide which matters proceed to full review with greater confidence.
On-premise rollout for Nuix Discover is scheduled for next quarter
The generative AI features already available in Nuix Discover SaaS -- summarization, semantic search, similar documents, AI clustering and visualizations -- will extend to the on-premise version of Nuix Discover in the coming quarter.
