Nuix Launches AI Chat and Gen AI Tools for Legal Discovery

Sydney – September 10, 2026 -- Nuix announced general availability of generative AI capabilities within Nuix Discover SaaS on September 4, 2026, adding document summaries, similar-document detection, semantic search, clustering and visualizations to its eDiscovery and legal review platform.

Nuix introduces AI Chat as an early-adopter feature for case data queries

Alongside the GA rollout, Nuix unveiled AI Chat, a conversational interface allowing reviewers, lawyers and investigators to query case data in natural language and receive synthesized answers sourced directly from document content. Each response includes citations to source documents, and every interaction is logged to create a court-ready audit trail.

"AI Chat lets teams ask questions and get answers grounded in their case data -- answers that are defensible and auditable. That is the standard the legal profession demands, and it is what sets Nuix apart," said Ilona Meyer, Executive Vice President of Nuix Discover.

Gen AI suite adds four capabilities across the review lifecycle

The Gen AI release for Nuix Discover comprises four core functions. Document summaries generate concise, plain-language overviews of each processed document, helping reviewers quickly interpret lengthy contracts, complex attachments and extended email chains. Similar documents are surfaced automatically based on summary content, while semantic search locates relevant material by meaning rather than exact keyword matches, reducing the risk of overlooked documents that use different phrasing.

Clustering and visualizations group documents by meaning and render them graphically, giving review teams an early view of a collection's composition -- including key themes, hot topics, concentrations, outliers and relationships between clusters -- to inform review strategy and prioritization from day one.

Capabilities span early case assessment through full review

Meyer said the AI tools are integrated across both Early Case Assessment (ECA) and Review stages, allowing teams to prioritize matters with greater speed and precision than traditional approaches and decide with confidence which cases warrant full-scale review. She noted that every analysis is grounded in original source material to ensure reliability of results.

Rollout timeline extends AI Chat to general availability by December 2026

AI Chat is currently available through Nuix's Early Adoption (EA) program, with general availability set for December 2026. The broader Gen AI feature set -- document summaries, semantic search, similar documents, AI-driven clustering and visualizations -- is already live on Nuix Discover SaaS and will extend to Nuix Discover on-premises deployments next quarter.
