Berlin – September 10, 2026 -- TECNO picked up two IFA Global Product Technology Innovation Awards this week, honoring its ultra-slim modular smartphone and a Tonino Lamborghini-branded gaming mini PC.
The TECNO Modular Phone measures just 4.9mm thick
The device won the "Ultra-Slim Magnetic Modular Technology Innovation Gold Award" for its proprietary Magnetic Interconnection Technology, which pairs a precision magnetic field with pogo-pin connectors. The host device carries a 3,000-4,000 mAh battery, and attachable modules draw power directly from it in what TECNO calls a "snap-and-go" setup. The design aims to solve the tension between rising AI processing demands and limited internal space in slim phones. The technology has already collected more than 20 media accolades, including "Best of MWC 2026" from CNET and Yanko Design, and "Best Mobile Tech" from The Verge at MWC 2026.
The Tonino Lamborghini TECNO TAURUS packs water cooling into a 6.36-liter case
This mini PC took home the "Miniaturized Gaming PC Technology Innovation Gold Award" for combining Italian design cues with dense engineering. It runs on an Intel Core i9-13900HK processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 GPU rated at 614 AI TOPS and 145W TGP with DLSS 4 support. A built-in water-cooling system is meant to hold peak clock speeds steady, while 15 ports and WiFi 6E handle connectivity. Yanko Design previously named it a "Best of MWC" pick.
TECNO also showed off two unreleased concepts at IFA
The company displayed a "Next-Gen Bezelless Concept Phone" featuring a 0mm screen bezel, alongside the MEGABOOK T15 360 Pro convertible laptop. The IFA Global Product Technology Innovation Awards were established in 2014 by IDG, IFA, and the DIHK to recognize standout consumer electronics.
