AtomVie Opens $160M Radiopharma Plant in Hamilton, Ontario

Hamilton, Ontario – – September 09, 2026 -- AtomVie Global Radiopharma has officially opened a new manufacturing plant at 10 Aeropark Boulevard in Hamilton, Ontario, representing an investment exceeding $160 million and marking the largest contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) site in North America dedicated to radiopharmaceutical production.

Facility spans 6,700 square meters and multiplies output tenfold

The site covers more than 6,700 square meters and increases AtomVie's production capacity by more than tenfold, supporting variable low-to-high throughput manufacturing. Modular spaces are designed to allow a smooth transition from early-stage clinical development to full commercial-scale production of radiopharmaceuticals.

Headcount to surpass 200 employees by end of 2026

AtomVie, a company spun out of the Centre for Probe Development and Commercialization (CPDC), a center of excellence affiliated with McMaster University, currently employs a growing team of specialists. The company projects its workforce will exceed 200 employees by the end of 2026 as the new facility scales toward full operational capacity.

Track record includes 4,400 doses delivered across 28 countries

Over more than a decade, AtomVie has supported over 70 clinical development and technology transfer programs, manufactured more than 1,000 cGMP-compliant batches, and delivered over 4,400 cGMP-compliant doses to patients in 28 countries across six continents, maintaining a delivery success rate above 99%.

“Our new site, specially designed for this purpose, strengthens our proven track record of reliable global delivery and deep scientific expertise, allowing us to support the development and commercialization of our partners' product portfolios,” said Bruno Paquin, Chief Executive Officer of AtomVie.

Kevin McNeill, Chairman of AtomVie's Board of Directors, said the new facility confirms the company's position as a leading radiopharmaceutical CDMO now built at commercial scale to meet partner needs with the reliability the sector demands.

The opening ceremony brought together government officials, clients, partners and industry stakeholders, who toured the site to see how AtomVie's operations are advancing the next generation of precision cancer treatments for patients worldwide.
