Thumb-Sized PlugClaw Turns Any Phone Into a Private AI Computer

London – September 09, 2026 -- TrustKernel has moved its PlugClaw device out of preorder and into full global availability, pricing it at 128 euros or 149 dollars with no subscription required.

A USB-C Stick Becomes a Full AI Workstation

PlugClaw measures just 50 x 19 x 8 mm and weighs 15 grams, yet packs a MediaTek Helio G80 processor, up to 6 GB of memory and 128 GB of encrypted storage. It runs PlugOS, a privacy-focused Android variant, alongside Ubuntu as the agent execution environment. Plugging it into a phone, tablet or computer turns that host device into a screen and input source only, while the actual AI agent, its apps, credentials and work data run entirely inside PlugClaw's own isolated environment.

The Device Never Touches Host Photos or Accounts

TrustKernel says PlugClaw requires no admin access to the host device and cannot see its photos, documents or accounts. The company points to a broader industry problem: most AI agents today need full device permissions to act, and there have been public incidents where agents overstepped those limits and put user data at risk. PlugClaw runs OpenClaw natively, extended with a GUI agent layer and Android-Use, letting it open apps, answer messages, organize files and complete multi-step tasks -- with any malfunction confined to the plugged-in device itself.

One Stick Works Across Six Operating Systems

PlugClaw connects to Android, iPhone, iPad, Windows, Mac, Linux and HarmonyOS devices, carrying the same apps, memory and workflows regardless of which host it's plugged into.

Confidential Cloud Inference Is Now Free

For tasks requiring more powerful models, requests are processed in a hardware-based trusted execution environment in the cloud, which TrustKernel says prevents both the cloud provider and TrustKernel itself from reading the data. The company has deployed dedicated servers offering this confidential inference for free, after early testing showed users picking the confidential option far more often than a cheaper, non-confidential alternative. Buyers can bring their own API keys or use preinstalled models, with 15 dollars in credits included at purchase. Trial units are available on request.
