TCL Unveils TAB A1 Tablet Lineup With Paper-Like Display Option at IFA 2026

Berlin – September 09, 2026 -- TCL used IFA 2026 to launch the TAB A1 tablet series, a four-model lineup split across two screen sizes and two display types, aimed at giving buyers a clearer choice between everyday streaming devices and screens built for reading and study.

The range includes the TCL TAB A1, TAB A1 NXTPAPER, TAB A1 Plus and TAB A1 Plus NXTPAPER. All four run Android 16 and pair Google services with productivity features TCL developed in-house. The tablets will roll out in select European markets, though pricing, colors and configurations will vary by country and sales channel.

Two screen sizes target portability versus workspace

The 11-inch TAB A1 models feature a 6.2mm thin design, 2.1K resolution and up to a 90Hz refresh rate, built for users who carry a tablet between home, school and work. The 12.2-inch TAB A1 Plus models step up to 2.4K resolution, a 3:2 aspect ratio and up to 120Hz refresh, giving more room for split-screen viewing, documents and films.

NXTPAPER models add anti-glare screens for reading

Standard Display models are built for sharp, smooth streaming and browsing. The NXTPAPER versions target users who read, study or work on their tablets for longer stretches, adding anti-glare treatment, hardware-based blue light reduction and optional display modes.

TAB A1 Plus NXTPAPER tops the lineup with three viewing modes

The flagship TAB A1 Plus NXTPAPER combines the 12.2-inch, 2.4K display with a dedicated NXTPAPER key that switches between three modes: a full-color Standard mode for entertainment and apps, a Color Paper mode for illustrated content and browsing, and an Ink Paper mode for focused black-and-white reading. Customizable gestures also offer faster access to AI features and apps.

Stefan Streit, marketing director for TCL Europe, said the lineup was built around two clear screen-size choices and two distinct visual experiences so more people can find a tablet that fits their daily routine. Local pricing and availability details will be announced by TCL market by market.
