Berlin – September 09, 2026 -- TCL introduced its TAB A1 tablet series at IFA 2026, offering four models split across two screen sizes and two display types to match how people stream, read, learn and work.
The lineup includes the TCL TAB A1, TCL TAB A1 NXTPAPER, TCL TAB A1 Plus, and TCL TAB A1 Plus NXTPAPER. TCL structured the range around two choices: screen size and display experience.
Two screen sizes target mobility versus workspace
The 11-inch models measure 6.2mm thick, with a 2.1K resolution and refresh rates up to 90Hz, aimed at users who carry tablets between home, school, work and travel.
The 12.2-inch TAB A1 Plus models step up to 2.4K resolution, a 3:2 aspect ratio, and refresh rates up to 120Hz, giving more room for split-screen viewing, documents and films.
Standard displays handle streaming, NXTPAPER targets readers
Standard-display models are built for sharp, fluid everyday streaming and browsing. NXTPAPER models add anti-glare and anti-reflective coatings, hardware-level blue light filtering, and selectable display modes for users who read, study or work on their tablets for longer stretches.
The flagship model packs three display modes into one button
The TCL TAB A1 Plus NXTPAPER tops the lineup, combining a 12.2-inch, 2.4K display with NXTPAPER technology and productivity-focused hardware. A dedicated NXTPAPER key switches between three modes: Standard for full-color entertainment and daily apps, Color Paper for softer illustrated content and reading, and Ink Paper for a focused black-and-white view. Customizable gestures give quicker access to AI features, apps and the NXTPAPER interface.
Stefan Streit, marketing chief at TCL Europe, said the series gives people a clearer choice between screen sizes and display experiences so more users can find a tablet that fits naturally into their routine.
All four models run Android 16
Every TAB A1 model ships with Android 16, pairing Google services with productivity features developed by TCL.
Pricing rolls out market by market
