Berlin – September 08, 2026 -- OlloBot is showing off its companion robot, the OlloNi SS1, at IFA Berlin 2026 from September 4 to 8, marking the product's European debut at booth H1.2-174.
OlloBot bets on emotional bonds over task efficiency
While much of the embodied AI industry focuses on service, household assistance, and humanoid robots built for task efficiency, OlloBot is taking a different approach. The company frames OlloNi as a new category it calls "cyber pets," sitting at the intersection of emotional AI and physical AI. "The critical question is not just what robots can do, but what relationships they can build," said OlloBot founder Lyn Fang.
Three systems power the robot's personality and memory
OlloNi SS1 relies on an EmpathCore engine for emotional intelligence, designed to interpret user interactions and contextual cues for more natural, empathetic responses. An Affinilog interaction system and a Memory-Heart module support personalized interactions, preserve memories, and aim to let relationships with the robot evolve over time.
Kickstarter campaign pushed back from late August
OlloBot postponed its Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign, which had originally been planned for late August, citing a commitment to long-term product maturity and a deliberate launch strategy amid shifting regulatory and market conditions. The company says it will share further OlloNi SS1 milestones in the coming months.
Visitors to IFA Berlin 2026 can see the OlloNi SS1 in person at booth H1.2-174 through September 8.
