HiKOKI Launches Cordless Nailers Matching Pneumatic Speed, No Gas or Hose

Stuttgart – September 08, 2026 -- HiKOKI, a KOKI Group company, has unveiled a next-generation cordless nail gun platform for the European market that delivers pneumatic-level firing speed without gas cartridges, hoses or compressors, with full availability planned for November 2026.

New Air Spring Drive System Plus doubles firing frequency versus prior generation

The platform's core technology, HiKOKI's Air Spring Drive System Plus, stores and releases compressed air directly inside the tool, combining an optimized drive mechanism with tabless battery technology. According to Bernd Fleischmann, Chief Technology Officer of KOKI Group, the system doubles shot frequency compared to the previous generation by pairing the established air-spring architecture with a new stroke mechanism.

Framing nailers fire up to 5.0 nails per second, cutting cycle times industry-wide

The new framing nail guns shoot up to 4.5 nails per second, rising to 5.0 nails per second with a tabless MultiVolt battery -- compared with two to three nails per second for most cordless and gas nailers on the market. Trigger time is 43 milliseconds, which HiKOKI states is the fastest among non-pneumatic nailers and nearly half that of the closest cordless competitor. Each tool delivers approximately 700 nails per 18V, 5.0Ah battery charge for nail lengths of 50 to 90mm.

Magnesium housing cuts weight to 3.9kg, over a kilogram lighter than rivals

The 30-degree to 34-degree framing nailer weighs 3.9kg including battery, making it the lightest 18V cordless framing nailer in its class and more than a kilogram lighter than the 5-5.3kg cordless tools most crews currently use. Magnesium construction for the housing, chamber, nose and magazine replaces the plastic-and-aluminum builds of the prior generation, reducing strain during overhead and repetitive-motion work.

Three initial European models target framing, metal connectors and duplex fastening

The launch lineup includes the NR1890DCB (30-34 degree framing, 50-90mm nails, 3.9kg), the NR1890DRB (20-22 degree framing, 50-90mm nails, 4.0kg), and the NR1865DKA (33-36 degree metal connector nailer, 38-64mm nails, 3.9kg, narrow tip for tight corners). All three are MultiVolt-compatible and accept interchangeable magazines for framing, metal-connector and duplex fastening on the same battery platform. A new HiKOKI fastener range launches alongside the tools.

Elimination of gas cartridges and combustion removes recurring costs and soot cleanup

Because the system uses no gas combustion or combustion chamber, operators avoid soot buildup, combustion-related cleaning cycles and exhaust disposal. HiKOKI states the design also removes the need to purchase, store or replace flammable fuel cartridges, a factor the company positions as relevant for enclosed-space work.

"Professional contractors shouldn't have to choose between performance and mobility today," said Peter Vullinghs, President Europe of KOKI Group. The tools will be sold through independent tool retailers starting November 2026, with availability, configurations, pricing and distribution channels varying by country.
