Gemtek, Dixon Expand India JV for Optical Transceivers, BOSA

Taipei – September 07, 2026 -- Gemtek Technology and Dixon Technologies (India) Limited are expanding their joint venture in India to scale manufacturing of optical transceivers, Bidirectional Optical Sub-Assembly (BOSA) units, and other high-speed optical connectivity products for broadband, telecom, cloud, data center, and AI infrastructure markets.

Gemtek adds photonic integration know-how to Dixon's Indian manufacturing base

The expanded collaboration combines Gemtek's expertise in optical communication, photonic integration, and product development with Dixon's manufacturing capacity, supply-chain capabilities, and market presence in India. The partners aim to build a scalable platform serving Indian and global demand across telecom, cloud, and AI infrastructure segments.

Gemtek broadens optical portfolio from 1G to 1.6T ahead of next-generation rollout

Gemtek is expanding its optical connectivity lineup to cover speeds from 1G to 1.6T, including optical transceivers, SFPs, BOSA components, and high-speed optical connection solutions. Using EIC-PIC photonic integration and advanced manufacturing capacity, the company is advancing its roadmap toward 800G and 1.6T technologies to meet bandwidth demand driven by AI, cloud, and data center infrastructure buildouts.

Local production in India set to reinforce supply-chain diversification

The tie-up supports India's push for domestic manufacturing of optical transceivers, BOSA units, and related high-speed optical products. By pairing Gemtek's technology and product-development capabilities with Dixon's local manufacturing and supply-chain footprint, the venture enables scalable production in India while complementing Gemtek's existing global manufacturing base, adding geographic diversification to the overall supply chain.

Gemtek to showcase optical connectivity lineup at India Mobile Congress 2026
