LONGWELL EC-FanWall Cuts CRAH Fan Energy 38% in AI Data Centers

Ningbo – September 04, 2026 -- LONGWELL's EC-FanWall technology has cut CRAH fan energy consumption by 38% in next-generation AI data centers, according to the Chinese manufacturer.

LONGWELL slashes CRAH fan energy use by 38% in AI cooling deployment

Ningbo Longwell Electric Technology Co., Ltd. said its LWBE3G plug-fan platform, powering FanWall arrays, reduced CRAH ventilator energy consumption by 38% while lowering noise levels by 6.5 dB(A). The PUE contribution from the CRAH system fell from a baseline of 1.42 to 1.28 in field deployment, with the company reporting zero operational failures.

Development cycle compressed to 90 days versus 20-month prior supplier timeline

Working with one of the world's three leading precision cooling OEMs, LONGWELL delivered 12 engineering samples within 35 days and passed DV/PV qualification testing on the first attempt with a 100% pass rate. The customer's previous European supplier had required 14 months of development plus a six-month ramp-up phase; LONGWELL moved from specification lock to mass production in 90 days total.

Customer commits to 60,000-unit annual minimum through 2027

The client placed an initial order of 1,500 units and signed a 2025-2027 framework agreement with a minimum annual offtake of 60,000 units. LONGWELL delivered more than 80,000 units in 2025 under the arrangement.

Rack heat density has tripled to 60-100 kW within two years

Per-rack thermal density for AI computing has climbed from 15-20 kW to 60-100 kW over a two-year span, with next-generation platforms already exceeding 100 kW, according to LONGWELL. The company's product line spans the full airflow chain: LWBE3G EC plug fans for CRAH/CRAC units and LWAE3G EC axial fans for condensers and cooling towers, both equipped with Modbus control, automatic N+1 failover, and optional bearing vibration sensors that flag end-of-life conditions 30 to 90 days in advance.

"AI computing power has redefined data center cooling," said Bruce Li, founder and CEO of LONGWELL. "Above 60 kW per rack, the fan stage is no longer just a component choice — it determines whether a PUE target is achievable at all."
