Berlin – September 04, 2026 -- TCL will showcase its latest NXTPAPER-equipped smartphones, tablets and wearable devices at IFA in Hall 21A, giving media and industry visitors a first look at how the company is combining display innovation with mobile connectivity across its device lineup.
NXTPAPER technology has racked up 117 patents and 189 awards since 2021
TCL introduced NXTPAPER in 2021, building on a decade of research into reflected light, blue-light reduction and paper-like viewing comfort. The technology now appears across several generations of TCL smartphones and tablets. According to TCL, NXTPAPER holds 117 patents, 15 certifications and has received 189 industry and media awards, including SGS Performance Tested and Premium Performance recognitions and a TÜV Rheinland Full Care Display certification.
TCL and CSOT unveiled the first NXTPAPER-AMOLED hybrid display at MWC 2026
At Mobile World Congress 2026, TCL announced what it describes as the world's first integration of NXTPAPER with AMOLED displays, developed jointly with TCL CSOT. The solution aims to merge AMOLED's contrast, color accuracy and brightness with NXTPAPER's glare reduction and viewing comfort.
TCL's mobile division traces back to 1999, with full ownership secured by 2005
TCL entered mobile communications in 1999, expanded internationally in 2004 through TCL & Alcatel Mobile Phones, and took full control of that business in 2005. The company says integrating research, display development, engineering and manufacturing allows it to maintain quality while adapting products for different markets, with industry partnerships supporting its AI ecosystem efforts.
TCL earned a Gold Medal from EcoVadis, ranking in the top 5% of over 150,000 companies
In its latest EcoVadis assessment, TCL received a Gold Medal for environmental, social and governance performance, placing it among the top 5% of more than 150,000 companies evaluated worldwide. The company scored 79 points overall and 85 out of 100 in the environmental impact category, reflecting progress in responsible manufacturing and energy efficiency across its mobile product lines.
